This place is probably better to visit once pandemic restrictions have been lifted, as the museum is currently closed. Access to the water is fairly limited and it's mostly a spot to have picnics it would appear. However the remaining buildings are well-preserved and the interpretive panels offer a lot of insight about the history of the site.

A nice outing for adults: museum is simple but interesting if you're willing to read the signage. The outside recreation area is pretty, has river access, picnic tables and a kid play structure. There are public restrooms available both inside the museum and in a carriage house being the main house. Worth an afternoon if you're a local looking to explore. There are two parking areas at the entrance.

Nice little picnic spot by the river. The museum is well maintained, small but worth a look. The staff is friendly and enthusiastic. They have some events/workshops at times. There's a little playground for the kids too. We had a calm summer day and enjoyed ourselves.

I’ve never been to this historic site. Actually I’ve never been inside the museum though I have experienced the surrounding grounds. It’s quite a nice place for a picnic. The views are beautiful and it’s fun to travel to the site by boat. We began at the Aylmer Marina and the trip took about half an hour on a pontoon boat. I definitely plan to make a visit to the museum itself. I enjoy history so it should be fun. πŸ‘β˜ΊοΈ

The stone house with upper house was constructed by Pinkey, a British merchant between1822-49, on the riverside of Ottawa river in Canada is a good attraction. His stone kitchen was inspected by me where I saw the lintel had wooden planks which are even now looking strong .I hope this might had been done to help attach wooden structure inside the kitchen to withstand the extrem cold.I don't see such marwellous idea in the stone structures of ancient times in India, perhaps this is the way of construction in cold places.

This is my favorite picnic location: rolling hills down to the water accentuated with the intact manor house and dotted with preserved ruins. A dock reaches into the Ottawa river allowing small pleasure craft to tie off. They're often several boats at anchor in the small bay. There's a small playground on site. Bathrooms on site are only open during the warmer months. The museum in the manor home is not always open and small - but entrance is by donation. Events are hosted at times such as a historically inspired Easter celebration.

An old house. It’s not significant place to visit but the area around is great for a picnic day. Lots of stuff to do like bbq or playing around. If you have a kayak it’s a perfect spot to kayak and fishing. There is free parking but the washroom closes around 5. Nothing to buy from so I recommend to take all your food with you.

Beautiful place to wander around. I would love to get inside the buildings some day. Today was my first time here in the winter and it was every bit as spectacular as the summer here. Plenty of parking. There was nobody else there but myself when I visited.

A beautiful property for walking and admiring the great view of the river. In the summer, the museum is open and there are lots of City run programs on offer. We recently attended a private group function which was run by City staff who were helpful and pleasant. The grounds are open all seasons and great for a walk or picnic. Parking on site

Very nice and a must visit! Not too crowded and a nice picnic place with a river view. They even have a kids play area and a very nice track to take a walk. Will definitely come back and may look nice in falls period too.

I was making a road trip in Canada from Quebec to Niagara falls, passing through Ottawa, som local friends invited me here for a picnic. Across Ottawa river, it's a very nice place to enjoy. There might be more restrooms.

One of the most stunning view of Ottawa River! We were pretty much blown away by the unexpected beauty of this hidden gem location! So close to downtown Ottawa, yet far away!

This is a great place to bring the family for some fresh air. Lots of open spaces and short trails. Even a small playground for young kids.

A perfect spot to sip into nature with rustic ruins. And it’s just a short drive from Kanata

I only visited the outdoor space but it was quiet, uncrowded and beautiful. The multilevel green space is on the Ottawa River and there is a dock (but no place to launch boats). Parts of the site were reserved for a wedding but there was still plenty of room for a relaxing family picnic. Highly recommended.

This is a nice and peaceful spot connected to the Ottawa river, one can see Gatineau across the river. It is very rocky!
