If you're racialized, DON'T GO HERE. You will get profiled, you will be targeted. Security is power tripping and will lie to justify their actions. Not only is this dangerous as a woman patron it's particularly dangerous if you're a brown woman here. I tried to reason with the owner and he stood there siding with his security. Didn't take any accountability for the harassment or belittling that his staff are so eager to do but only if you're brown. Didn't matter if we were spending money or not on bottle service. I wouldn't care to give another white owner my money so he can turn around and call me an angry brown trope and justify feeding his ego. ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ say no to businesses that replicate the same dirty racist systems that perpetuate prejudiced treatment and create unsafe environments for its women. Good luck to any brown person who thinks this is where they can have a good time. You have been warned! โš ๏ธ

My favourite place to be. Quality music, quality crowd, quality time. I love the family environment with other regulars. The best place to go if you love house/techno/trance and just want to dance and feel immaculate vibes!

I was here last Saturday as a solo woman in my late 20s, ages range a lot which was good because I didnโ€™t want to end up in a student crowd. All the staff is very friendly especially the doorman whoโ€™s name I forget(tall blonde guy). I just wanted to dance to good music to blow off steam and it was perfect. The only downside is it felt like there was significantly more men than women and while nobody was inappropriate maybe some marketing to make it a closer ratio would be an improvement.

City At Night has been attracting and booking major international talent throughout the years while fostering the local DJ community here in Ottawa. Regardless of the night, you're in for a treat! Recent renovations have also helped keep the place cooler in hot weather or when there's a large crowd (which is often on the weekends) while upgrades to their lighting system has brought the underground vibes to another level, especially on techno nights. Make sure to follow their socials to plan your night for the type of music you enjoy.

Great vibe, and unique location. Set in a recently renovated historical fieldstone-lined bunker. Classy service, strong drinks and saw some great DJs. The place was filled by midnight and pumping until closing. Perfect Friday night out in a gorgeous setting.

Had a great time out at this club, dancing all night 'till close. Music was loud but had a great vibe. The staff was friendly and helpful all round. Big dance floor which was packed. I'll be back.

This intimate venue offers a space where all are welcome and respected. The sound system, bookings, atmosphere, pricing, the staff, the unique events...are all extraordinary! I've had countless positive experiences here, and I hope you do one day too. :)

I'm from out of town, not sure what I was expecting but it was not that. This club exceeded expectations. I had a blast. The bartenders and bouncers were super kind. Drinks were averagely priced, I highly recommend.

As a regular here I'll say with confidence that City is hands down the best in Ottawa for what they do. THE SPOT for electronic music. This place truly fosters a real community. All people are welcome, respected and treated alike without being profiled or judged. Great people, events and service here every time. 10/10 would suggest city to anyone. Between white rabbit, intersection, pull-up, labyrinthe, factory techno events and many more, there is no shortage for variety of music and trust me, you'll never be disappointed here!

This is the worst bar/club ever! I went looking at the reviews only to realise how shady of a place it is. The vibe of the place is such that illegal drug activites are on..the music worsens the vibe. Highly cramped up space and suffocating too!! Something in the drink or the air was not right. Horrible staff service. Hated to pay the already included extra 18% of tip when it was not worth a bit. Hated the entry 25 dollar fee too. This place is definitely not worth it. The worst bar ever !!

I went there Feb 2020 for Super 8 and Tab. Probably the best venue for EDM I've been to in Ottawa, maybe the best in Canada. The atmosphere is great. It's dark and small but not crowded. My only complaint was that the music was a tad too loud, but I might just be getting old. Prices aren't too bad, and the staff was nice! Definitely a great place.

If you're looking for a venue with loud bass, bright lights and lasers, lovely staff, all while playing the best in both underground and commercial electronic music, then this is the perfect spot. Very welcoming and caring management, bar staff, and security. So happy to see such a gem in Ottawa that welcomes international artists and supports local talent.

Nice place. It's well decorated nicely and has a great atmosphere. I went on a Sunday but from what I could tell they had a great group of people there and the music was fantastic. Whatever they are doing on Sunday I wished they'd do on other days as well. But I understand they have to have their diversity. If you're in the area on a Sunday night and you got the Monday off check it out!

Amazing staff and management. Carl took great care of our group. Will definitely return. Only thing to complain about would be the size. If the venue being a little on the small side. But they make it work with great acoustics. Thanks.

I was looking for a dance bar, so this was recommended. I was charged $24 at the door as cover (the most expensive anywhere, ever). An orange juice in a smallest glass ever, I was charged $9 for it!. Respectful staff and fast service at the bar. A very dark place such that faces could be hardly seen (charging so much they can at least add a few lights) with guys outnumbering gals by at least 3 to 1 so that some gents were dancing by themselves! Not my recommended place. If you know of a good dance bar, please share.

By far my favourite club in Ottawa. An intimate venue with some of the best local artists (Shoutout to Rick Laplante, aka the godfather of the local electronic scene). They host international events as well, bringing in some of the biggest names in the scene. The crowd is diversified and inclusive 99% of the time, presenting a safe space for women coming by themselves. The staff are wonderful people and very much involved in the scene as well. One issue I had last Saturday march 27 2022, was with the bouncer. I donโ€™t know his name but the owner should do something about him. The guy was extremely rude even though Iโ€™ve been coming to cityโ€™s parties for as long as I remember, and he was hitting on the girl I came with when I wasnโ€™t around. The door staff in the past have always been amazing and respectful. Firm when they have to but never affecting or ruining unnecessarily a clientโ€™s night. I know that the bouncerโ€™s vibe doesnโ€™t represent at all the clubโ€™s or the staffโ€™s worth, so Iโ€™m still giving it a 5star review!

The bouncer would not let 8 of me and my friends in because he thought one of us were drinking. He demanded for us to show him a non alchohic drink even though we had nothing on us. The bouncer was incredibly rude and denied the club 8 cover fees.

Never before have I been to a nightclub where the women to men ratio was easily 3:2! Good music. Standard drinks were $8, which is reasonable. A fight broke out and instantaneously the guards had broken it up and escorted them out, so the vibe was definitely kept chill and upbeat. Will definitely visit again!

Definitely one of the most popular nightclubs in Centretown, you're guaranteed it will be busy and people will be crowding the dance floor. Fun if you're into electronic music just be prepared there might be a lineup but it moved quickly when I was there

City at night is my fav place to be for a night out. People there are just always in high-spirits unlike most of the clubs downtown where people just seem sad and desperate. Everyoneโ€™s respectful and the music is always mint. Drinks arenโ€™t too expensive, bartenders are actually nice (not fake nice). Itโ€™s also just a really aesthetically pleasing venue.

For EDM/house lovers. The room is pretty small with low ceilings, so it gets easily stuffy and musty, especially during special events. Bonus: they have coat check and relatively cheap shots.

Small venue, but also the only licensed after hours club operating in Ottawa. No dress code as far as I know, drawing a mostly EDM/Bass/Dubstep crowd, their white rabbit nights go until 6 am 1/2 times per month and they have been selected amongst a small number of other clubs as official festival after-party spots for Escapade, Glow Fair and a few other festivals. Staff are always friendly and courteous, as much as could be expected from a small club anyway. They are very strict as far as bandanas, masks, goggles, glasses, glow sticks and other rave accessories go. Great parties, small intimate space.

Back for New Year's! Had the best time. Amaaaazing music! The DJs even played together at a few points and it was absolutely siiick. Sooo good. Love the positive nonjudgemental accepting vibes of everyone there. It was great to see everyone fully enjoying the music and appreciating the DJs. You could tell the DJs were loving what they do. For a wide range of ages who enjoy a variety of edm. Thanks to the DJs and thanks for another great night! ...................................................................... First time: Love this place! Amazing DJs. PleasureKraft was awesome! Love the rock wall behind the DJ. Small dim lit venue which was so much fun. Will be back!

Iโ€™ve been dancing at pretty much every club in Ottawa. City At Night is my go to choice almost every time because the bartenders, DJโ€™s, security, staff, music, and patrons are all top notch and you couldnโ€™t ask for better, kinder, more considerate people. I recommend this place to all my friends and I will recommend it to any newcomers! City at night is a charming venue for dance, music and other arts and has even more charming people in it! Check it out on w Wednesday/Thursday for more chill Vybes or Friday/Saturday for more up-tempo beats. Cheers

This place has very nice decor, clean and fast service, however, I found with the staff being quick with service (which at allot of places that is what most people are looking for) the customer service as in friendless is completely lacking. The music is great as they play a variety of music which hits everyone's preference. I would definitely recommend going to visit "City at Night" if you and your group are looking to have a quick drink however, if you are out for the night, alone, this probably is not the place to go if you are a sit at the bar and chat with the bar keep kind of person. I gave this place only 3 out of 5 stars because of these reasons if possible I would have done a 3.5 but 3 stars is what I give. It was a fun night all n all.

I've seen many shows here. One of the very few venues in Ottawa that host bigger names in the electronic music genre. My one complaint is the sound. It's a very loud system for how small of a tin can it is. Deafening for sure. So be prepared to keep asking:"what did you say?".
