Wow this place is amazing! The daughter was so friendly and gave us a bunch of tips for our visit to Ottawa. Asked for medium rare beef for my pita. Very moist and flavorful. Get it with the fathers housemade hot sauce. And the tatziki is fresh and creamy. Greek salad could feed a hungry village and dressing was zesty. Would go back if we were not leaving soon. Highly recommend with reasonable pricing.

Excellent authentic Greek food in the Ottawa region. Always a go to eats while visiting Ottawa. Almost on par with Greek town (the Danforth) in Toronto. Highly recommended.

This place has become an almost weekly staple in our home. The food is always fresh and delicious and quick to pickup. I get the 2 skewer chicken souvlaki platter which has so much rice, potatoes and chicken (plus salad) that I intend on saving half for lunch the next day. Unfortunately, it's too good and I end up eating it all. My wife gets the grilled vegetable pita with spicy sauce on gluten-free pita. Let's just say that sauce is to die for! Gluten-free!! If you need Celiac safe food you are in the right place. Part of the family is Celiac and so most of the food is safe by design. If you ask for extra measures, you can be assured it's safe! Great to see this family business thrive 🙂

Absolutely perfect! Experience was up to the legend! Not only the food is great and fresh, the service is sincerely awesome and friendly. I came a bit early to avoid the lunchtime rush… At first I was a little concerned with the quantity of fried squid in my appetizer but the rest of the meal was so perfect that I’m backtracking on this point. Staff is attentive and really brings this dining experience to the top level. Tried their Greek sour cherry pop and it was delicious, just as their Greek coffee in the end. The biscotti was made by the server’s grandma. I normally never include photos of staff in my reviews but these guys make the difference so I want you to recognize them. Will be back for sure, thanks again for enlightening my day.

They have the creamiest Tzatziki I have ever had in my life - hands down! It is a very low key spot with lot of takeout orders but run by some very humble and amazing folks. Their plates are amazing and a lot of good honestly - we had to take out. I’ll highly recommend the pork gyro and the sausage! They were flavorful and fantastic. When you are ordering the sausage, be mindful of the salt content as expected, I’ll recommend sharing. The price is reasonable for the taste, flavor (very unique and authentic) and portion sizes. I’ll highly recommend it.

My partner and I have been ordering from here for years - I figured I should finally give them their 5 stars! We’ve introduced their food to my in-laws who are also great fans. Their food is ALWAYS fresh, plentiful, and absolutely delicious. You can tell they don’t take any corners and go the extra mile in their quality. Really quite good Greek fare. The little place is busy, with all tables full the day I came and a regular stream of Skip/Uber Eats people coming and going. Still, I was seated immediately, my order taken promptly, and my cold Greek beer delivered quickly. I had a chicken skewer plate with rice, potatoes, tzatziki and salad. I also had a lamb skewer. The quantity of food was more than enough, next time I'll probably skip the extra skewer. In total my meal was around $35, including tax, tip and beer. The quality of food was more than adequate. The chicken was flavourful and juicy. The lamb was as well, although a bit chewy as lamb tends to be. Worth mentioning the salad was excellently dressed and the feta cheese was quite good. Nothing else to say other than the staff (family?) Was quite nice. A great place to eat if you're going out with a young family, an inexpensive date, or just some take out if you don't feel like cooking.

Great food, excellent prices. Although they were not open for dine in, they allowed us to sit at the window bar and have take out there. My wife had chicken souvlaki and I had haddock. Both came with lots of rice, lemon potatoes and a large Greek salad. We had the main course and decided to take the salads home. Great service and very tasty food. Recommended.

We came into the city for a mini vacation. Found this place on Google, went in and realized they were operating mostly on a take out basis. They graciously allowed us to sit and eat. They were so sweet to our toddler. Even served us where we sat. Incredible people here. And incredible food! This will definitely be my go to everytime we visit ottawa.10/10 would recommend. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!!! Thank you for your hospitality!

I lived in Ottawa over the summer and me and my roommates quickly became obsessed with this place! At least one of us would pickup from here every week. The food is sooo good and the staff are also really kind and the pricing can’t be beat! Seems to be run by a family so I was even more happy to support during these weird times. Next time I come to Ottawa I’ll make sure to pick up some food!

Delicious flavourful food, I think the meal is a very good value for what you get. The salad is so good, too! Not a wimpy salad so they can say theres a salad, it's a proper salad with a nice piece of cheese and a nice fresh mix of vegetable. It's also a family business and they are very nice. So glad to know about them now, YUM!

The vegetarian wrap was so delicious with the tzatziki. The spanakopita were the best I've ever had. They were so fresh and soo good.

Fantastic food. I got this for take out last night, and I couldn’t be happier. The pita bread was soft and had a nice char on it. Also had the chance to speak to the owner (Jill), what a wonderful lady who’s passionate about her business. Definitely would recommend.

This is a literal hole in the wall that has been there for many years. I remember walking past it when my 11 year old was a baby, and never stopping. Oh how I wish I could go back in time and eat all the meals here I had missed now I've moved away. We had gone to a Greek restaurant on Preston for my farewell party and it wasn't at all what we were expecting when we opened the menus. After fleeing before the server arrived, we ended up in Centretown at the Shack. It was the polar opposite of where we had left, and not really what we were expecting... But a table for 6 was available and the host/server/Boss Babe got us seated with menus before we could change our minds (again). As we were seated, someone leaving let us know we wouldn't regret staying. The server was fantastic - she overheard that two of our party needed to head out early and brought their food as soon as it was ready along with the bill. While giving us attention, she also fielded at least a dozen calls for take out. The food itself was all the things - huge portions, huge flavour, huge satisfaction. Next time I'm in Ottawa, you can find me at the Shack.

What a great surprise the Greek Souvlaki Shack is! This small space delivered an outstanding, fresh, hot meal. My group of eight were seated immediately and water arrived seconds later. The server took our order promptly and the food arrived piping hot and almost miraculously quickly. I had the Pork Souvlaki platter, all of it was great - from the salad to the spuds. The prices are low considering the quality and quantity of food. I'll be back for sure, this spot instantly became a favourite lunch time spot.

One of my absolute favourite places to get a great meal for a decent price. Staff is friendly, courteous and always makes me feel welcome. The Greek salads are some of the best, if not the best in Ottawa. The chicken pita wraps are always fresh, warm and full of flavour. Best local Greek food! 🫶🏻

Was first an last time eating here as someone whos married to a greek family I love greek food an eat it regularly I also am expecting so craving lots of it I wanted to try there food after seeing the ratings sadly they were false by long shot so the truth is when was served spanikopita there was the waitresses hair along with it disgusting from the start The meal itself was a disappointment as well the salad was far from greek at all it had no onions tons of lettuce very few tomatoes and horrible dressing a shame to even call it a greek salad as well as the potatoes were made in microwave a few times as it tasted like leftovers an were cold as can be also the pork gyro tasted of blood more then meat itself wont be going back nor recommend anyone eat hair in there food ! I was disgusted an shouldnt of had to pay at all dont waste your money also the washroom was so bad had to use one across the street as it was so dirty

Met a friend here after some research for some restaurants around our hotel. Had some good reviews and and it paid off. Food was really delicious and reasonably priced. Looks like a family run business. Just a small place, but people kept coming in as it got closer to dinner.

Fresh and delicious food! I always get their lamb skewer plate or lamb pita wrap (at medium rare)! It's just so good! You can also substitute rice for more potatoes!! The grilled calamari is another excellent choice! The staff is very nice! This is my favourite Greek place in the city so far! Do take note that they are closed on Sundays!

Amazing place. This feels like one of the few places left where the employees actually care about how the food looks and tastes. Fresh salad with olive oil, beautifully and deliciously roasted pork skewers, and excellently cooked and spiced rice as well as traditional style potatoes. Atmosphere is clean and non-pretentious, service is prompt and polite, and you get a generous portion for the price. I would recommend this place to anyone!

We all ordered the chicken souvlaki platter. 2 with 1 skewer, 1 with 2 skewers. Was a big plate of food that comes with rice, potatoes and salad. All the ingredients were fresh. Highly recommend this place if you are in Ottawa and have a craving for Greek Food. 3 ate very well for $70 including tip.

**UPDATE November 2023. Still super good and OMG,a mountain of food for a really good price ** Extremely delicious dishes, good portions, everything is super tasty and lots of choices. Service is always friendly and smiling. Most of the menu can be made gluten-free, and they are really careful with cross contamination. I've been there twice, and my coeliac wife never had any reaction.

I came especially for the coffee which was really good but a bit too sweet for me. The dolmades were CRAZILY DELICIOUS and the greek salad was nice and fresh. The waiter is so helpful and friendly. Overall very good experience 😊

The chicken souvlaki dinner is what I had & it was very good, a tasty robust meal. The potatoes 🥔 salad 🥗 & rice 🍚 were lovely 😋 the chicken was good but a tiny bit overcooked. Everything was seasoned well, even the rice was full of flavour.

Amazing! Absolutely superb food and service. I don't know what they do to the rice but it is just perfection. The right side of moist with a lovely lemon undertone. The souvlaki plates are well put together and the star of the show has to be the greek salad. It cuts through the heavier elements of the dish and gives a light and refreshing element to the meal.

This is without a doubt the best Greek food I've ever had. The rice is perfect, the poatoes are super flavourful & the plates are generous. The staff is super friendly & the prices are fair for the quantity and quality of the food. I have to stop myself from ordering from there more than once a week.

Great food and safe for a celiac

This place truly deserves a 5 start rating. The quality of the food is the shining start of the restaurant and the friendly service is an additional silver lining. I will continue to recommend this place to my friends and am thrilled to see they have been increasing availability of there food to order services via ubereats as well. My recommendation is to try the potatoes.

I found this about average for Greek food. The salad was fine , chicken was dry and rice was not very tasty. Definitely not 4/5* for my taste.
