I have loved this space for my pup to run and socialize since we got her less than a year ago. Ive had many great experiences with great dog owners. However, recently my dog has been subjected to breed discrimination on 2 seperate occasions. Today we had been at the park for 20 mins with no issue, until a woman entered with her 3 dogs. My dog approached to play with one of her dogs when she started hitting my dog multiple times in the head with her chuck it stick, in a panic as if my dog was attempting to attack her dog. She is a puppy, i am utterly lost for words. If you are not comforable with your dogs socializing normally, please dont bring them to a public dog park.

Great place for your dog to run. I really enjoy bringing my dog here. itโ€™s nice and big so great to get your dog running around and get tired. Just wish people who come here would be more educated on normal dog play. I have a big dog whoโ€™s just such a gentle giant, and heโ€™s often assumed to be an aggressive dog, just for being a typical dog. And the people who make these assumptions often their dogs are causing fights. Great place but if you have a dog who is big and looks intimidating, be prepared to be judged.

I have a small breed dog who was on a leash in the trail area, many large dogs were off leash and the owners had no control over them. Two large dogs ran up to my on leash small dog in an aggressive manner, and one of them attacked my dog. Would not recommend you bring small dogs here.

It was fairly quiet today so the perfect environment to take the big goof that I'm sitting for the week. He was a little shy at 1st, but made new friends. The park was large and clean, had extra tennis balls lying around and 2 large waste disposals stations. Will be going back for the next few days to tire out the big oaf. Picture for cuteness.

Was great to let Chico (long haired chihuahua) stretch his legs and socialize with other dogs. Closed in so we could let him just be free. Very welcoming crowd as well.

A great spot! A lot of people need to remember that it's for the dogs, not them. Yes, it's essentially just a huge field, but it gives the dogs a lot of space to run and play together without risk of running into anything.

Used to love taking my dog and child to the area. But to many people let there dogs off leash in the leashed area, and they have no control over them. My daughter and I were walking down the paths far from the off leashed area and she had some sticks in her hand, a old ladys little dog came at my daughter just for having a stick. There is a leashed and off leashed area for a reason. If your dog does not respond to you the first try, or Gos after other dogs and children, they should NOT be off leash. No matter the size of dog

Might not return! Pros โ€ขFenced in Yard โ€ขPlenty of dogs around 4pm (majority were friendly) โ€ขGarbage cans available close by Cons on our experience โ€ขThere are more than 1 exit so if nobody closes the gate properly then it's easy for them to get out โ€ขThe dogs at this dog park do not seem to be as well behaved or trained compared to Bruce Pit as a previous person mentioned 11 months ago. โ€ขOur dog almost got attacked - the owner very slowly grabbed the dog said sorry then began petting it as though it did nothing wrong. โ€ขThere seemed to be 2 regulars there that brought their dog even though the dogs showed they did not want to socialize with others. Just guarded the owner and reacted to all the dogs intimidating them by barking and showing its snout. The other dogs would keep their tail between their legs until it went away. Overall, we are still debating whether to return as we currently have two other dog parks that we prefer!

Our dog was having fun there for sure! Great to find a place to have him run and socialize.

If your idea of a good time is standing in a completely featureless, fenced-in area, right beside a busy highway, then knock yourself out. There are lots of other nice dog parks in the city. I only go occasionally because it's close.

Great place to let your dog run free and socialize with other dogs. Most dog owners here are responsible.

Truth be told I play baseball at Hampton park but I walk past the dog park an it is a nice spot for pups to go. There seems to be a dedicated group of dog owners that go there and it is maintained.

5.5ft wire fenced dog park with multiple entrances. Bring own poop bags and pick up after yourself. Bring water for your dog. Be attentive and leash your dog outside of the dog park. Be an advocate for your dog and the dogs of others.

Lots of room to roam. No shade anywhere and have to watch the gates but great park to let loose and run.

Never took your French bulldog here. Irresponsible pet owners, aggressive and unpredictable large dogs.

A nice little fenced in dog park, the gates are a little wonky, but I haven't seen a dog get out. Lots of room to run!

I prefer the trailed parks that are not so enclosed. Unfortunately had a few not so pleasent encounters here. Itโ€™s nice and big but youโ€™ll do a lot of standing around and I find the dogs get a bit more aggressive.

I went there yesterday (2022-09-10) on my way home from an excursion trip to Ottawa South. Hampton Park is in Island Park area with many embassies and ambassadors's residences. The only negative is the noise from heavy traffic in Island Park Drive.

Stopped by to kill some time with my pup. What a great place! The dog run is huge, clean, and safe for dogs of all sizes. There are also some small trails if your dog prefers sniffing to playing with other dogs. I'll be back!

It's a pretty big dog park and fully fenced in! It's unfortunate that the highway is right next to it, as it can get pretty loud. The people that go here are pretty responsible for the most part and lots of friendly dogs.

Best place to bring your dog for a run in a fenced in area. Lots of friendly dogs and if your dog needs a bit of "alone time" to run, you can sometimes use the baseball diamonds (best with 2 people though as there are 2 exits to block off)

My experience here. I went there once while I was in the area with my dog and it was unappealing/boring for my dog and myself. My dog sniffed around the fence and then went straight to the gate to get out. I have never seen him do that in the 11 years that I have had him. They need a place like Bruce Pit or Conroy Pit where they can socialize, run, sniff, and do all the things dogs like to do. While I walk my dog, it is nice to look at the trees, water, birds, wild flowers and get some exercise for myself as well. The only thing this type of place is good for is for people to gather and talk while their dog plays with other dogs for a few minutes. This city needs more places to take dogs off leash. We are so limited now, maybe this generation of dog owners just donโ€™t know what they are missing,

Friendly people and dogs. Becomes relatively crowded but the off leash area is very vast, making it easy to leave distance

Good park but no trees or shade on the 30+ days it's very hot and can't stay for long with dark hair dogs

First time there to day. Nice large fenced area. Lovely people made us feel welcome from the first minute on. Alfie my black Pug has never mingled with so many Dogs. He loved it. Thanks to everyone. Peter

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Conroy Pit is a lovely place for a walk in the woods with your pup. However, due to the extensive devastation by the May 21 derecho, all access to the wooded paths is blocked by fallen trees, hundreds of them. At the moment it is quite treacherous.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Considering where it is, it's a decent sized space with a fair amount of grass and the fence appears well maintained, (it's not loose or falling down in places and there aren't any holes in or under it that I've seen). It's pretty clean too! There are 2 large garbage cans and the majority of people...

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Great place for medium sized dogs as area isn't as large as Hampton. Sad to say but there is a huge increase in the number of dogs with fewer facilities for owners to go. Use to go to La Roche (closed for another year) and Lemieux, (which wasn't really a dog park but was the perfect park for dogs)...
