Great place for a bit of nature in the middle of the city. Not usually very busy, and lots of birds and flowers to check out. Be sure to bring a camera!

Beautiful park to bike or walk. Saw some neat birds, and the birdwatchers were kind enough to tell me what they were. Many trees to sit under. If you see a white and black fuzzy caterpillar, don't touch it!!

One of the most lovely and restful places I have ever visited. Paths were well marked. I only spent an hour but could have spent the day.

Open skies. Ponds. Lake. Canadian geese. Trees full of grandeur. Lush green carpet. Select your bench or sit on the greens. Peace is yours.

I love this gem of a place hidden away on the experimental farm. The paths criss-cross with Canadenisis, a place with beautiful art in nature, and the garden tucked down at the end of the road behind the OFNC Building. Take your time and enjoy birdwatching, beautiful flowers and insects galore, including butterflies. And congrats to the OFNC for making this place so beautiful!

A very nice and peaceful place, attached to another park. Long trails, lots to see. A good place for picnic, children runaround and just relax and enjoy the sun.

Quiet, green, serene. A great locale for wildlife, especially birds. Close to lots of other green space. Walk, bring a good camera and a plan to setup and photograph nature not more than a 15 minute drive from downtown.

It's not much to look at right now in the beginning of spring, but life is coming back to the garden & soon it will be beautiful. Still I did see different birds during my walk through, including 2 cardinals & a red winged black bird. I think there are washroom facilities on site but with the current provincial lockdown they are probably not accessible as the visitors center is closed. Parking is free, but the maximum parking time is 90min. It's a gravel parking lot but if cars park smartly you could fit about 20 on-site. There is metered $ parking not too far away though on the agricultural museum parking lot across the street. Dogs are allowed but must be kept under control.

Lovely spot for a bit of birdwatching. There's something every season - cardinals, chickadees, doves, hummingbirds, juncos... The list goes on. It's a small spot with three benches and multiple paths out to Dows Lake Arboretum and the nearby trails.

BIRDS! This is a great place to look at all kinds of interesting wildlife, from frogs, to turtles, to birds of all kinds. We caught a glimpse of a rare kingfisher! The geese are friendly if you behave. It's great spot to picnic with your family, and will make for great learning and photo opportunities. I would recommend cycling in if you can as the bike trails are lovely.

Peaceful and relaxing. Great to see an area that is totally managed natural. Spent half an hour here and saw wood frogs, a friendly chipmunk, male and female red winged blackbirds, black and red squirrels and a heron (not sure on the species as it was smaller than the grey heron we see at home). A lovely area to visit, sit listen and relax in some of the wonders of nature

Gorgeous scenery and well maintained. It gets a bit busy mid day but theres plenty of space to keep socially distant. Be mindful of photos (not spending too long in one area when other people are waiting to get in, not getting to close to others/photobombing, avoiding areas where special events like wedding or engagement photo shoots are taking place). Just follow the rules and maintain your distance from others and it makes it a great experience for everyone.

This is a wonderful place to simply go for a casual stroll or nature walk, especially if you enjoy bird watching or bird photography. With the extensive network of trails that connect to the Wildlife Garden property, you can also find yourself walking around Dow's Lake and along the Rideau Canal! Parking is somewhat limited on the property, but there is also ample parking along Prince of Wales Drive, just South of the entrance to the Fletcher Wildlife Garden property. As always, please be respectful of the wonderful creatures that call this area their home.

How did I not know about this place after 20 years in Ottawa? Am i the only one? If you have not been, go here. Nature paths? Check. Weird art in the middle of a field? Check. Tons of trees, quiet and birds? Check, check, check!

A beautiful garden and lovely the walk through. Bring ice grips in winter as a few paths can get icy but it’s beautiful to visit all year.

Wonderful space for a natural area in our city. A research project on Monarch butterflies was interesting. Could have better directional signs for walkers. A pond, quirky metal sculptures snd more to explore another time.

No matter the time of year, this is a relaxing place to visit. No shortage of birds and other wildlife during the winter; beautiful plants and flowers in the summer. Peaceful hiking trails are open year-round. A great place for photography.

It's pretty and calm. The walking trails are nice too. Good for an introspective bird and cloud watching day. Just don't accidently stumble into the experimental farm where you can whiff the smell of cow dung and be accosted by wedding alley bridezillas and their gangs of stressed family trying to get the perfect Cinderella 250 lb heffer to be shot with newbie slughub on his way to a 50 lb ponch that explains the disappearance of wee willy Wonka in his chocolate factory.
