We get promotional emails, yet management doesn't email members about being closed for maintenance (e.g. March 10). Super frustrating to be told the gym is closing in 10 minutes upon showing up. Bring your own headphones, as the music is generally strange and no good. The prices are very high for the service. The gym is often crowded and not open late on weekends and Mondays for night owls or people who don't enjoy crowds. I may just leave the gym at this point 👉.

Great place with lots of clean equipment! Free parking in the basement as well and very convenient to go do grocery at Whole Foods or LCBO right next door! You don't even need to exit the building! A lot of the staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a dedicated room for cycling and hot yoga. I do enjoy the hot yoga room (I do wish they can bump up the heat a bit). They also have a massage beds and a tanning booth. Nonetheless, great clean modern place. For the most part, people do clean up after themselves which is always super appreciated. This is probably one of my favorite Good Life locations in the Ottawa area!

It’s very important Health people that you need to worry about other people’s health and also clean the dry sauna two times a day and. The day pass also is very expensive it’s 28$ it should be $15, also the membership ship very expensive Many time we complain they didn't care about health , The biggest mistake made by sports clubs is regarding entry for only one day. The amount is very expensive, 28 dollars per day. This amount is for those who do not have a membership, and this is very expensive. An appropriate amount must be set, 15 dollars with the tax, so that many people come to the club. This is a mistake made by this club and other clubs. Increasing entry is very expensive, especially for those who do not have membership, and this is considered a big mistake for the future of this club ??? The future of sports clubs is cleanliness, especially bathrooms and bathing areas, as well as the sauna. The place must be very clean and constantly every day. Cleaning includes the sauna, especially the sauna. It is used in many ways by people, and a lot of people sweat inside the sauna. Cleaning must be done twice a day in order to preserve human health with all Unfortunately, the one who owns this club and some other clubs only think for the money, they do not think for the community, and it is wrong when they say the club is open for 24 hours. This contradicts the health and immunity of the body. We have to think carefully about what to do. Also, membership per month is very expensive, and entry to the club is very expensive. It is expensive, at $28. This is only for one day. This is very wrong. These expensive prices must be reviewed. In the end, this club and all the clubs will be closed. Because of the high prices, lack of cleanliness, and lack of credibility with society, the future of every place is credibility with society, cleanliness and treatment are good. These prices are very high, whether membership every month or entry once, very expensive at 28 dollars. This is considered a big mistake for the future of this club and all clubs when we look at the past four years ago. All the sports clubs wanted to close their doors and the reason was that everyone stayed away from the clubs because they were not good in terms of prices and cleanliness was not good.

Overall, this is a fairly good gym with new equipment and generally friendly staff. **Cons: It would be nice to see the PTs correcting members when they're working out so as to avoid injury- I see that most of them ignore members who are working out using wrong techniques or bad form that could lead to otherwise avoidable injuries. Some of the PTs also appear to be distracted when they are supposed to be training clients who pay for their services. Another con is that some of the broken equipment takes forever to be fixed. Also, just like most gyms, members fail to put away their weights, but that's somewhat hard to control. One last adverse observation is that oftentimes its a long wait to exit the parking if there's a game or event going on at the TD stadium. **Plus points : new facility, new equipment, good selection of classes, clever layout. I also noticed that the cambodian janitors are very hardworking and dedicated to try and maintain the cleanliness of the gym. **Feedback/constructive criticism: some of the front desk staff need to be trained on proper etiquette and customer service. The good ones are the night shift twins Rachno/Rachna as well as Niki and Taylor-perhaps the others could try to mimic their professional, friendly service. This would definitely be a 5 star gym if the staff members were all consistently knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Lamentably, they don't seem to recycle the discarded plastic bottles that lie around everywhere. It would be a great idea to add recycling bins in the locker rooms and/or at the entrance at the very least. Lastly, there is absolutely no reason this cannot be a true 24/7 gym - it would be MUCH more convenient for regular, committed members.

Echoing what a few people have already shared: gym is randomly closed due to “staffing issues” . In the near 6 months I have been attending this gym, there have been 4 occasions where I have shown up just after 5 in the morning (on days where, according to the schedule, it should be open) and the gym has been closed. Sometimes there is a note on the door and sometimes there is nothing. With all of the promotional emails GoodLife sends out, it would be great to receive notifications when these staffing issues result in a closed gym (during hours that it should be open). It is incredibly frustrating to only find out that the gym is closed once you show up at the locked doors.

Gym overall is amazing. Sauna is a huge perk, staff are great. My big complaint is they play CNN on most of the TV's. I suspect they might have a contract with them like most airports. It is a huge downside to be subjected to that BS during a workout.

Moved here from Toronto and gotta say, the way this gym is being maintained is really good and that's how it should be. The gym isn't crowded and even during peak hours, you'll always be able to do something without having to wait unless you're following a strict regimen. The staff are super friendly and the gym has a good vibe!

I love the location, the space and the equipment at this gym. However, if you have a membership that includes towel service, it is the worse place to go. Their towels are grey and so worn, you cannot use them to dry yourself after the shower... Some locations have good or great towel quality, but at this location, it is horrible. I wrote twice to the club about this but no luck... I stop going to that club because I do not have the service I paid for.

Do not enjoy. It feels like you're in a dungeon and I don't like the vibe from other gym goers there. It's probably due to the affluence of the neighbourhood - people have the vibe that they're "too cool for this". It is the Glebe.

Gym has been randomly closing at 10pm on weekdays with no notice or explanation other than a hand written sign on the door. Avoid if you're someone who likes to workout at night. Especially since they close at 7 on weekends.

Great gym! Clean equipment, and great classes. One piece of advice is putting on A/C. When you walk in, you can feel the humidity right away. Hard doing cardio when the gym feels extremely hot and humid.

This location is Awesome!!! Love the look & layout of the gym. One of the biggest things that stands out the most is actually the exceptional service from some of the staff. Lily for example is amazing... above & beyond kind, caring & friendly!

I’ve never really felt the need to visit any other GoodLife gym. This place has a great atmosphere and a friendly staff. It does get busy during the evenings, and on weekends, however, I’ve always enjoyed working out here and never had a bad experience. Underground parking is free for 2hrs 10 minutes I believe. You can directly access the gym from the parking area which is always nice.

Still the "hip" Goodlife in Ottawa. The gym was clean and well equipped, but found the equipment to be slightly cluttered which was made worse by the high volume of people there. They validate your underground parking stub, but have a limit of 2 hours, so if you plan to shower, you may have to rush, which is again made difficult by the volume of people. Still, a nice spot in a central location.

GoodLife Lansdowne is truly the best gym in Ottawa! I have been going to this location for a couple years and have only good things to say. The staff is incredible. Vanessa, the general manager, has top tier client service skills. She was able and willing to assist when I had issues with my membership payment quickly, and professionally. I love going in for 6AM gym sessions. The staff at the front desk, specifically Alex, brings a warm smile and welcome to me everyday which sets me up for a great workout. I was hesitant to try personal training after a negative experience with another gym in the past. I recently started training with Liam and over the short time we have trained together, I couldn't be more pleased with the results I have seen. His passion about fitness and health shines through. He is professional, prepared, and always accommodating to my schedule. The Lansdowne location feels like a safe place to work on your goals without judgement - I will continue to rave about this gym and all it's lovely staff! Bravo team.

great facility but it’s only for Canadians unfortunately. disappointed that your membership policies are exclusionary to foreign travelers and undocumented folk. been paying for day passes for the past month on my visit - equivalent to multiple months on membership. but after learning I’d be here a bit longer - I attempted to sign up for a membership but the gym won’t accept my visa card/bank method of payment. embarrassing cause I’m prohibited to apply for a Canadian bank account in this country. but will day all the day passes though. this isn’t consistent w the guise of “care” you present. considering cancelling my registration all together, but I’m grateful for the assistance from your kind and very compassionate employee at the desk - Lilly (she deserves a raise)

This is a Goodlife location that I often enjoy working out at. The staff are always friendly, and the gym is always clean with a wide variety of amenities. I find that the music they play sometimes is a little loud and bleeds through into the music I'm trying to listen to on my headphones when I work out, however this is an issue I find is common amongst most goodlife locations.

Nothing to do with the staff - they are great, always friendly and keep the gym clean at all times, but to whoever is responsible for the maintenance and repair of gym equipment…10 and counting cardio machines being out of order for weeks, and the rest running at half their power? Frustrating when you make the drive, get the underground parking, accept that the atmosphere is more of a fashion show than fitness centre, and after finally getting an open treadmill, it doesn’t work properly (speed 10 is hardly a brisk walk). It’s a busy gym, you have the funds to fix these machines quickly…. it’s disappointing to see it not be prioritized, anyone considering membership here should look elsewhere if their main goals are cardio-based. Edit: I should mention, I did speak with the staff about the treadmills and when I could expect them to be repaired, and I was told “it’s on the list”. So I took that as the most up to date information.

Was visiting Ottawa and ended up working out here post pandemic. Clean and decently large gym. Tips: they do validate parking up to 2 hours. There’s an entrance to the gym from the underground parking lot. The validation machine is on the counter next to the front desk by the wall.

My wife and I have been members at this gym for nearly 3 years. The staff is friendly and seem to enjoy their jobs. We are always greeted by the staff at the front desk when we arrive, usually Lilly, who is really great. When we joined we were trained by AJ and Andrew. They were very knowledgeable about the equipment and offered lots of advise about our goals. The gym is very clean and equipment is in good shape. We enjoy our visits, about twice a week and highly recommend this location.

I froze my membership as I was away for a few weeks and when I came back I needed to unfreeze my membership to head back to the gym. I’m trying to do so online it said I had to wait until a certain date for it to be active again. I reached out to the club and Vanessa was able to help me immediately. Love this place and the service!

I have been a member of the gym for a long time and when I decided to try a personal trainer. He was great and i felt my workouts with him were going somewhere. But the huge con here that the gym doesnt provide a full service of training involving a nutrition plan and supplements. It was a tremendous effort on my side to keep that with my workouts. In spite of, i had a virtual personal trainer before from bodybuilding.com and they provided me a with a full package (workouts, nutrition plan and supplements) and i was so happy for the first time i reached my goal only within 3 month. The worst of all that the contract doesnt let you freeze your sessions in case you are travelling for business or any circumstances. And when I decided to opt out of the contract I was forced to pay 20% of the whole year including the 6 month that I have already attended and paid in full. I find it its totally unfair. And I was expecting only to pay 20% of the remaining year that I will not be able to attend. I dont recommend any one to go through this contract and a personal training program in goodlife until they change their policies and be fair with their members.

Just left the gym and the lady in the front desk this afternoon confirmed that the parking is valid for two hours for the gym members and she validate my ticket and she said you are going to be charge for any extra time after the two hours only the extra time after the two hour, when I left the parking ticket machine charged me 12$ when I asked the assistant person for the parking he said you have to pay it because you passed your two hours so your validation is not valid anymore and you are have to pay the full amount, I tried to explain to him what the lady said and he said is wrong and she should be cleared about it , again another location and another problem, very disappointed for this misunderstanding information, I’m not sure who’s paying my 12$ since I was told wrong information, the problem here when I called this location again the person in duty was confirming the same wrong information and there’s no manager or assistant manager or manager in duty to handle this situation…… not sure what to do anymore…

Time to review after being a member for a year at this location. Was it worth it? For me, no. When joining I was promised a personal training session. I requested a French speaking PT and preferably a female (but female was not necessary). They paired me up with an English speaking male with a slight language barrier. I was not comfortable so I requested the above. They never followed up with me. So, I never got it. Make sure if you join follow up with them. They need to follow through with all the added joining perks. Their GoodLife bags are also horribly made. The crossbody straps break off easily. Second, if you’re looking for towel service here, don’t get it. They are laundered in house and they do not absorb water. They are small sized (even if you get 2) and old. Third, I cannot comment on the classes as I was never enticed to go (yet I am a class goer). Plus, I’d suggest their cleaners check the showers often as there’s no body wash. Fourth, I spoke to many ex employees of GoodLife (small world) and many said how the environment is toxic, that there is drama and how coworkers hit on each other with unwelcome advances. For these reasons, I’ve decided to bring my business elsewhere.

Gym was great. Been a member for over 10 years and have even had my locker broken into and my truck stolen. Staff member totally ruined a great workout for my son and i. She wanted to see id even after i had my picture taken at the hazeldean location. Staff should be trained on how to treat the members who pay wages rent etc. Considered canceling the 3 memberships from my household because of mistreatment and lack of common sense. Spoke to the manager and agreed that it could have been handled in a better way. Appreciate the manager taking ownership of the gym and staff.

Chemicals used in scented products cause many allergies and makes many people seek. Unfortunately, there is not enough effort to make a visible sign in this gym to bring this awareness for clients. There is only a small sign on the gent’s changing room mirror which most of people do not even notice it. Systematically every time I go to this gym, I have difficult moments of allergy because some one is spraying chemicals on himself. Please, bring this awareness for clients e.g. by indicating more visible signs “Scent-free zone” in the changing room on lockers. Many gyms do it to protect their clients from chemicals.

Firstly, this review is directed towards management and not the floor personel, who are actually professional and polite. It seems this club does not have the so-called walk-in blocks other clubs have implemented, which means that if you don't reserve your spot 6 days before (at least for the morning hours), you will not find a spot. I work and those are the only hours I can go. Add to this that the club now opens at 6 am, and while I do not expect it to be 24/7 like it used to be because of cleaning rules, openning at 5 could better accommodate all of those indiviudals that work and go the gym in the morning. I guess I will continue to pay 5 dollars average per 1 hr workout until this COVID event ends.

Been going here a long time but its turned into a bit of a daycare with groups of young highschoolers running around taking up all the machines. Sauna can get very unsanitary, needs regular cleaning. Have never seen a cleaner go in there. Day pass for guests is $28 plus tax, should be way less than that. Figure it out.

Spacious and modern club w/ motivated employees. Fitness Class Instructors could definitly learn to be more welcoming & friendly to newcomers. Coming from out of town a couple of times a year, it's the same Ottawa reaction of not embracing diversity. Born & raised in Ottawa, in GTA for 20 years now. Have my GL membership for 10+ yrs. The difference between there & Ottawa is palpable!!! Lansdowne club looks great, but still has a small town attitude w/ its instructors. Been to other Ottawa GL clubs too ... Only instructors who were welcoming was Rideau Centre GL.

I find this Goodlife a bit different then others. This one is very personal training centric, doesn’t leave much for regular use. It is a nice gym but I think it’s just small.

One of my favorite in Ottawa. Busy during rush hours, friendly staff.

One of the more spacious GoodLife gyms. On top of that the hydromassage and hot yoga classes make the difference for this specific location. Although, access to hot yoga classes will cost you $10 extra biweekly. Totally worth it. Some of the instructors are very good. You also get two hour of free underground parking in TD place parking garage. Too bad there are no swimming pool and hot tubs available in any of the GLFs. All in all, with the corporate discounts, you’d be happy to be a member.

Best GoodLife in town, by far. The staff is amazing too, especially Gabriel - he gives the best pointers, and is genuinely driven by the success of his clients. Great gymnasium.

Honestly speaking, this is the best Goodlife in all of Canada no cap. I have to say the employees there are phenomenal, especially the motivators. They are the best part of Goodlife Lansdowne. Coming to this gym will make your day.

Great place. Staff are amazing and always are there to help. First gym I signed up with and they gave me no doubts. You also get a free training session when you sign up!!

So, I rated this state of the art gym 5 stars one year ago. Since then, they've eliminated the best piece of HIIT cardio equipment (Cybex Arc Trainer,) and I find myself visiting other gyms as a result. I have a universal gym pass but if I didn't, I would be kind of upset if my home/only gym eliminated pieces of equipment that I used without giving any notice.

Visited this location for the first time today. Was greeted positively and when I had mentioned I've never been, was told and shown where everything was. Love the set up, lots of machines and areas to workout in so no shortage of options. Free parking and conveniently underground! Definitely going to make this my days off spot to get a workout in!

Absolutely stunning gym. Wide variety of machines and equipment, with enough to allow everyone to workout without interference. The gym includes a turfed area, along with a dedicated aerobics area. Good change room with free towels.

Josh is a 5 star trainer. All the equipment you need. The spin classes are great too! I like that there are early morning (6 am) classes to fit fitness in before the rest of life/work gets in the way.

Spacious and clean with lots of equipment. Good vibes, younger crowd. Have never had a negative interaction here. Men’s locker room washroom usually is kinda rank, but it is what it is. Shoutout to Michael’s body pump class for always kicking my butt and giving me a weekly endorphin boost.

The receptionist in the front desk today at around 6pm to 7pm threw the towel to my partner. She is extremey rude. I didn't have the chance to get her name but I can still remember her face. I hope everyone will be like EMMA who works in the morning she is so friendly made us feel at home and helped us with our needs.
