As winter slowly melts into spring, and as restrictions slowly ease, it felt good to dine-in. It was a quiet Saturday afternoon and we were promptly greeted and seated. This Southern Californian, street-food inspired joint has a relaxed vibe. One where you can get lost in time with friends and good food. The American Burger (double patty) was delicious and the accompanying fries were crispy, and golden - a perfect combination! There appeared to be no rust on the service - attentive, thoughtful and engaging. I’ve taken a mental note to revisit and enjoy this spot once the patio weather is back! Welcome Back to indoor dining!

A bad "vibe". Revised given owners initial response (now deleted). Just a terrible experience. There really isn't anything on this menu that I would call "good value" or "wow that's sort of interesting". It's a short menu with Tacos that are all overpriced for what they seem to be, and a few sharable bites. The restaurant is a clash between a Mexican grill and a Best Buy LED lighting section, really interesting choices... There's a bar and TVs. Patio seems to be their bread and butter but in the winter that's a no-go. So we ordered nachos to split and a taco each, not your typical order but I knew immediately that we wouldn't be full leaving. I was caught staring at the Popeyes chicken restaurant across the way that I knew we were destined for given the portion sizes. We ordered the Gordita and the Street pork taco. I think you'd probably have to spend upwards of $30 each to be full leaving here, maybe even more to be honest. There's nothing on the menu that looked filling. After a short time we received the nachos. The nachos were adequate, unique and fairly tasty with the provided sauce. A sliced radish doesn't get you brownie points though, sorry. After finishing the nachos, we waited a bit longer and then we received the Brisket and the Jerk Chicken taco. Wait, what? How did you get both wrong? Genuinely impressed. Like I get one, honest mistake, but 0/2 on flavours? Yikes. Just entirely confused at the whole situation. It's a tough dilemma to be in as a guest. Do I ask for both of these to be remade given two tacos took longer than the nachos to cook and eat? Or do I cut my losses, eat the tacos they gave me and leave, I'm hungry after all. So we ate the two bite tacos for $3 a bite and left. For what it's worth, the Jerk Chicken taco was awful. I didn't order it, and I didn't like it, particularly didn't care any more because my mouth was watering at the prospect of Popeye's chicken, realizing that's where we should have went in the first place. This is not a place I would frequent again.

A giant patio to enjoy your tacos on! They are very accommodating and make sure you have a great experience. Lots of tacos to choose from, some better than others. I would recommend the pork based tacos. They also have a kids menu which is awesome. You can bring your kids and choose a simple meal while you enjoy some delicious tacos!

Server was very much present, we didn't need to wait for her to come to our table when we needed her. We ordered rounds upon rounds of drinks and they came quickly. Food was excellent, some of the best tacos I've ever had. Big selection that pack a lot of different flavours. Private bathrooms, wheelchair accessible. Looking forward to patio season.

This place has a really nice and huge patio!! That is the biggest plus. The menu is very limited, you can basically go here for a drink and snack. If you want more then that go to a different place. The location is great, right in the middle of bank street, great for people watching. The nachos were pretty good, not spectacular but fine with sangria and beer. The waitress was nice and service was good. Would go again for a cold drink and snack 😋

A good spot to hang out with friends, would stay here for vibes but not necessarily for the food. The patio is super nice and our servers were all friendly and took good care of us. Tried about 6 of the 8 taco options they have, and I'd say only 2 of them are worth getting - the brisket and the fish taco. For a place that basically only serves tacos, you would think more than 2 options on the menu would be good. The Nashville chicken one was especially a miss, and the street pork was also a disappointment; I've made better carnitas at home myself. Overall after buying about 8 tacos and a starter of chips and salsa (which were good, nice salsa) you're looking at about $80 after tax and tip. I think for what you're paying, the food should be more satisfying. Not a bad hang out spot in the Glebe but definitely don't take the food too seriously. Have some drinks, get a little buzz going and then just order some fish tacos and some brisket tacos. Thank me later.

Great taco options. Tried the jerk chicken, fish, cauliflower, and brisket tacos. Very balanced in flavours and the jerk chicken and cauliflower were just spicy enough to cause a minor sweat but tingle the tongue. The variety of tequilas are also another great reason to try Banditos. Service was excellent as were the serving suggestions.

Excellent service matched by excellent food. A concentrated menu offering Mexican cuisine staples. Their specialties are the tacos! Fish, Brisket, Jerk Chicken and Beef were all delicious. The taco May look small but it packs a lot of substance, and most of all flavour! Their Banditas draught is delicious. More flavour than a Corona but still on the light side. Perfect match for the tacos. Traditional Margarita was excellent as well. Had the corn as an app and it was also nicely done. Presentation is always great! Churros had the perfect sweetness and the dipping was the perfect accompaniment. Huge patio, highly recommended!

The service is 3-4 stars, the food is 4, but music is 1.. electric dance hip hop or whatever that music is called is not to my taste and it does not go with the name of the restaurant, in my opinion. It Is a shame to concentrate to only certain type of clientelle who enjoys such music, especially as the food is great. Not coming back here.

Delicious tacos and drinks. Definitely to be repeated! The restaurant terrace is huge and inside is generously soacious. The waitstaff was kind and prompt. There are three parking spots on site, (its not accessible) the rest is street pay parking, 2hours at a time. The ramp is not too steep to get on the patio platform. The menu isn't huge but it's kind of nice to have less selection and decisions to make. We ended up getting the waiter to pick for us. He did great! They also had gluten free options but I did t confirm if they have a contamination prevent protocol for celiac disease. The tacos were delicious. The drinks, a Margherita and one virgin watermelon lemonade, were refreshing and tasty. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed. Bank street wasnt too busy on a Tuesday afternoon. The washrooms are mostly accessible though it wiuld be challenging for a wheel chair or stroller to be in there. There is a koala station in the accessible washroom .

Went here with a friend after a long walk. The chili margarita was phenomenal! I got 2 and had a lovely buzz on for my tacos. The jerked chicken the fish and the cauliflower were all super yummy and the hot sauce was great! Connor our server was super sweet and wished me a happy birthday! Zero complaints! Will be back very soon! 😋

Great patio vibes and delicious food. I haven't had anything here I didn't like. Only reason for the 4/5 is because of the service. It's just inconsistent; i've had amazing service here but other times my server was really hard to find. Would still recommend this place!

My husband and I went to Ottawa for a short getaway and both love tacos. After doing a bit of research we headed to Banditos based on the reviews and the menu options. We have been to quite a few taco places and this was by far the best. The Nashville Chicken in particular was extremely flavourful. Would definitely recommend!

This place!!!! Oh my days! I had to work on my birthday but I was nearby and dying to try this place since it opened! I saw my opportunity and oh my gosh.... They may have the best tacos I have ever had in ottawa!!! The cauliflower taco was so good I seriously debated buying a dozen for my lunches this week. But then I remembered I could see the staff again if I came back! Seriously the nicest men with the best service! Don't walk, run (before I eat all their tacos!!!!) this place is the best!!!!!

Everything about this place was amazing! The tacos, homemade hot sauce, cocktails, churros, ambiance and great staff made this a perfect casual evening out.

I picked up 3 tacos on my way home for the first time and they were ready at the exact time the restaurant stated with great customer service and a nice atmosphere. Jerk chicken was good, Gorditta crunch was good and the Brisket a bit too much of a store bought bbq flavor on the taco but it was still good. However... at 25$ on a Taco Tuesday for 3 mediocre tacos is a hard one for me to swallow. But I did, they were good.

Jamie runs a top notch experience. He greets and seats you ASAP. You never have to wait more then a minute or two to order drinks, food or for the cheque. Water, drinks and food show up promptly and very tasty at that!

I have eaten and/or had drinks here several times as I live nearby and have always had fun on each visit. On my latest trip, I had veggie nachos (they were delicious), along with a Tecate beer. Would definitely come back, especially in the warmer months, as their patio is among the best in the Glebe.

Came here with some friends and their kids and they liked it. The food portion was good, a very vibrant place, and the staff were really nice. I would come back here again.

  • 4/5 Cynthia S. 8 months ago on Google
Had excellent nachos with smoked brisket. The chips were light and flavourful and the brisket tender. Unlike most nachos, a salsa wasn’t an ingredient so the chips weren’t soggy but had a nice cream topping adding just enough moisture. Thumbs up

This is one the rare restaurants we had fully fresh vegetables in our tacos, every single ingredient was fresh. Tortillas had a perfect tortilla texture. We chose 6 different tacos, our fav was the Gordita one, I have to mention that each one of them were very tasteful and they represented exactly what was named on the menu. The speciality was the shrimp tacos, D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! Alert: Jerk chicken is not for Amateur in spicy tacos. This is really spicy! And by the way, you have to taste that Tater tot Potine OMG! Nice variety of beer, and my Margarita was just perfect. Ambiance was pretty calm, great looking place, loved that style. Jamie was our waiter, very kind guy, table service is 5 stars for him. We will come back for sure, next time with out little family. I absolutely recommend this place.

Great lunch! The host was excellent and friendly and he was SO thoughtful in seating us. There was the giant storm coming and he made sure we had rain cover. The food was delish and reasonably priced. Definitely would go again.

The tacos are delicious here! They are surprising filling as well.. I ordered three but could only finish two. The nachos were yummy too, however I would have preferred if they came with a side of salsa and guac. The watermelon margarita is also amazing! The only con was it took a while to get some service. It had seemed the staff had forgotten about us as many other tables were served first!

We love this place fir it's fast, friendly service and delicious food. The atmosphere is fun and bright. Today, we had jerk chicken nachos with a jug of sangria. Absolutely delicious.

Visited the Banditos patio around 6:00 pm on a Sunday and had to wait for 10 mins which wasn't bad given how packed the place was. The food was good, jerk 'anything' seems to be one of their signatures and was done well.. between 4 people we had the taters, jerk chicken nachos, jerk fries and tacos (the pork one was strictly ok). The watermelon rose sangria was delish and the beers were good too.

Was here with friends. Arrived around 5:30 pm on Sunday and the place was half empty. We asked for the booth seats and were happy that they agreed to comply cause it’s much more comfortable than dining chairs or counter seats. Ordered an array of the food and drink. Margherita was not blended, rather with stirred in ice cubes. It was served with a whole chilly and it was way too spicy ….. $14 for 2 1/2 onze…..definitely not my usual exotic type of drink. Most others ordered appetizers Taco seems good size and well dressed. I Ordered house burger on promotion and server mentioned a list of the potatoes but did not state they were extra charge. Almost $20 for the small burger and taters …. I guess the place is more of the summer place cause it was pretty empty the whole time we were there. However the decor was hip and chic so I would say ambiance is nice and relaxing. Perhaps great to chill and eat appetizers. But am not crazy about their drinks

Great Spot! Clean, well-run, welcoming, welcoming staff. Service was excellent, didn’t have to wait long for our food and we never saw the bottom of my glass. All in all, a very well run locally owned restaurant. I highly recommend stopping in. Summer patio is great! Considerably nicer than what other places in the area try to pass off as a patio. I will definitely be back!

pretty good beef tacos, taco shell not super crunchy so it didn’t break apart which was good. nachos were pretty tasty as well but didn’t come with any sour cream or salsa. would recommend the watermelon sangria, haven’t seen it anywhere else and also tasted pretty good. the pitcher can fit about 6 glasses with ice

Everytime I've driven past this resto, it's been crazy busy so I decided to take my hubby there for his bday dinner as he loves tacos. The drinks were flavorful which was a welcome surprise as normally restos serve watery ones. The waiter was fantastic. Talkative but not overly, not at all pushy, friendly, and welcoming. The service was fast and the tacos, well, they were freaking delicious. A little on the pricey side but still worth the money. I do think they should offer a mix and match deal, like 3 tacos for X$ bc if you're super hungry it can get really expensive.

I visited with a friend in mid February, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was my second or third time there, and they have changed some of the menu options - the changes are excellent. I had the Calamari appetizer, which was wonderfully cooked and the sauce it came with had a great level of bite to it. For my main, I had the Cola braised brisket and the street pork tacos. Both were very good, especially the brisket! I highly recommend that taco. Overall service was very good and quite friendly, although it did slow down a bit when the restaurant got a bit busier. Decor is very funky and quite nice. I would definitely go back!

  • 3/5 Max S. 3 years ago on Google
The place was OK but pretty pricey for the quality. Its good for the vibe and set up outside. The magarita was expensive for just a small glass mainly filled with ice and didn't taste exceptional. The fresh quacamole tasted like it was out of a packet with no flavour. The hot sauce was great. The cauliflower and brisket tacos were also very good.

Never dined-in, but can confirm this place is fantastic for takeout/delivery. They've never gotten our order wrong, and the food is sooo delicious. We have their tacos once a week (tried all flavours but the ground beef one), and we're always so impressed by how yummy it is, recently tried their cuban sandwich w/fries -- was not disappointed! Churros are fricken fantastic too. Overall would definitely recommend.

We came for the second time during the pandemic for some patio tacos. They had expanded the menu from when we were there over the summer (which was nice), and added additional taco and side options. I love the Street Pork tacos, and their house pint beer is good value for money. They also have an assemble your own tacos takeout package that looked like a great idea. :) It's one of the few patios in the city I've felt safe eating at, but there is one portion of the patio where it's skinnier and the tables of two are set a little closer together than I would have preferred. I'm a little more cautious than most, though. I liked that they were limiting party sizes to 4 people. Service was friendly and prompt, even though they were busy.

  • 4/5 Itzel L. 3 years ago on Google
I had a great meal on their patio (in the Fall), and the electric heaters helped keep us warm against a chilly wind. The service was good overall. 4 stars because my Cuban Sandwich was a touch too salty and did not appear to have pulled pork (or if it did, it was either a very small amount or it was too dark out to see it). Nonetheless the sammy and fries were very tasty.

I came in to this place to sit down and enjoy some tacos and a Nice beer when I looked at the menu that was Just a piece of paper that came from the printer and One taco that is $7.25 or something that I can take three bites and I’m done wasn’t too happy. Being in this industry for 10 years The menu needs to be redone But do it properly and be more reasonable with the prices this place has amazing food And amazing staff but pricey I would suggest going to the 3 other Mexican restaurants that are on Bank Street.

Ordered a chicken, pork and fish taco. Two words, very mediocre. Chicken wasn’t Terrible. Fish tasted as if it was frozen, and then I bit into the pork.... awful. Usually pork tacos are my favourite, but I couldn’t even finish this one. I highly suggest others taco places over this restaurant. Giving a 3 star because their staff are extremely nice, and the overall atmosphere is great. I just don’t like their food, especially with the high price tag.

  • 3/5 Carlo C. 3 years ago on Google
Staff is nice and the restaurant has a great atmosphere, but the tacos are mediocre. Definitely shouldn’t be called a “Taco Restaurant” though. Or at least change the prices to reflect the quality. Definitely wouldn’t put it on my go-to taco spots in Ottawa.
