Prices on the menu here is do not match what is on the bill. Either they can't afford to update the menu, or they are just scamming people. It is a big difference in pricing. Number 18 is $18 on the menu but was $21.99 on my bill Mexican Flag was $18 on menu but $20.99. It was just enchiladas, not a Mexican flag. It didn't have the sauces with the color of the Mexican flag. Soft drink was $3.50 on menu but $3.99 on bill My drink was $10 on menu but $12.00 on bill On the up side, the Number 18 was really delicious.

I’m not an expert when it comes to Mexican/California food but it was decent. At the very least, it wasn’t bad. Theme was amusing and the patio overlooks Dow’s lake which is really nice. Neat place to hang out.

As I backed out the restaurant I took one glance at the tacos I ordered, then as I was merging on the 417 I threw 18$ worth of prison food out the window. I was excited for some great Mexican tacos, but sadly I was given food people won’t even feed their dogs. I’m working hard through a pandemic with my financial struggles rising, I wanted something to ease the pain but then again I was treated with this sorry excuse for a Mexican restaurant. Guess you gotta always go authentic.

This is one of those restaurants with best views! The Dow’s lake and the park looks beautiful from the patio. I tried chicken fajita, chicken burrito bowl and beef quesadilla. Everything tasted delicious! The tables were clean and sanitized. The staff were friendly and I didn’t have to wait for a table since I visited the restaurant on a weekday. Overall I liked the food and the view, it’s budget friendly too!

The food wasn't hot such as fries.The lady who took order and served was bit rude, it seems like she preferred to serve sweetly to just white people on the floor. Should change such staff. Forgot to take more ( food)pictures as the evening was spoiled because of her rudeness😇

We had the chicken nachos and the beef tacos. The food was a bit underwhelming. Good service. The place was not busy thus lacking in ambiance. Parking is not available near the restaurant.

Great view, great patio, spacious with good distance between patrons. Service was very good. Leaving 4 stars as food was alright and the margarita pitch was not strong on tequila, it was mostly lemon 🍋 juice 🤦🏽‍♀️. Maybe try the single drinks of margarita and they will be a better bet. Paid Parking is in front of the street. A little bit hidden but look for it around and you’ll find it. Overall, I found it pricey with small portions.

Big portions, love the margarita, the cup is so huge. Mexican flag burrito is one of the best dishes they have.

Sat us literally beside 7 HUGE spiders. It was clear nobody cleaned the place because the webs were massive and it had like 1000s of flys stuck to it. Server didn't care.

You're paying for the location. A plate of single layer nachos with a bit of chicken was $24.99. Add in a small, mostly ice, pitcher of sangria and our bill was pushing $80. I understand food costs have gone up recently, but this just didn't feel worth the money.

Great view, but...the beans were dried and looked like they were canned. The rice was an abnormal red. (I am Mexican and this was not Mexican rice.) The fries had been fried in old oil. They were crusty and hard. The burger meat tasted like it was frozen thawed burger patties. It was overpriced for that quality food. For a $60+ bill for two people...it felt like bad street vendor food. We were sadly disappointed.:( At least the waitress was very kind and serviceable.

Good Mexican place. The food price is on higher side. Even cocktails are pricy. The food tastes really good. We had Nachos which were very good. Quesadia were very normal and all the dishes tasted very basic. We had Mango margarita and it was really good.

They got my order wrong even though we were the only customers. The beans was mashed and not fresh, the burrito was very dry. It's quite expensive but I guess its the location (we came in December though)

Awesomeeee Mexican food !! the vibe of this place is killing !!! the music is great.. the view is stunning!! No complaints ! we were a group of 12 and luckily we got place in the patio on a saturday afternoon!! the nachos was amazing!! we ended up ordered 4 places of nachos + other starters…!!! The pickle fry starter tasted great too!!! We were there about 2 hrs in this place and Ashley our server was great! She smiled and served us with all our request.. All the servers were on their toes all the time! Great people! highly recommend. Definitely coming here again when i visit ottawa!

I was not impressed. I had a dead spider fall on me while I sat and ate my food. I dined beside three live spiders in their perfectly formed webs. We were sat beside a group of 12 which clearly was over the max 10 people bubble that is mandatory in Ontario. Tables were not spread 6 feet apart and numerous times I saw staff removing their mask or going from handling money to touching plates. I would recommend that they take the time to clean the cobwebs, move tables 6 feet apart, educate staff on wearing masks, and ensure that guests aren't coming in groups of more than 10. It is clear that this restaurant does not care about the global pandemic and are ignorant to the serious consequences of their risky behaviours.

I found the service to be fast and friendly but the food left much to be desired. I got a taco salad which was supposed to come in a burrito bowl but my burrito bowl came out burnt and completely inedible. I couldn’t even eat it. I was also charged for guacamole but I never received it in my order. Otherwise the service was good and drinks were standard. Would come again but not get the taco salad.

Delicious food. Great drinks. Beautiful location. Awesome views from practically every seat in the house. Didn't have to wait for a table, which is such a relief in the pandemic times.

Not convinced there was any alcohol in the margaritas, food was just okayish. Service was slow, took just shy of an hour for our first food item to appear, a two-chip deep sad nacho plate. Portions on all meals were pretty light, left hungry. But the biggest fail? We ordered three fried ice creams. They came out in two variants, chocolate or caramel, we weren't told we had choice, but neither variable was fried ice cream. It came out as flat patties rolled in corn flake-like cereal that had enough time for the flakes to be chewy soggy messes. Pretty darned pathetic. Looked up fried ice cream pictures for your help, notice the balls are coated in something like a batter, and fried? Not patties of ice cream rolled in soggy chewy flakes? Frying is the key to "fried" ice cream. Try harder. Worst Mexican restaurant I've ever been to.

Lived in Little Italy for 3 years before finally trying Mexi's. It is safe to say I will likely not be going back again. I felt the food was okay at best and was quite expensive for what we got. I could see that some of the staff members were being courteous with their guests but ours seemed more interested in other tables than ours.

Great location, friendly attentive staff, good covid-19 protocols, very tasty food, but horrible wasp problem. Multiple families during our stay asked to be sat inside, including myself.

Tried this patio today, the staff is very friendly and the prices are reasonable. Absolutely love the fish tacos and the virgin margarita and for desert the deep fried ice cream.

Delicious meal, friendly staff, great views. There is also an opportunity to go canoeing or for a boat ride. It was a great experience overall and I look forward to going back to discover more of the menu. I tried the Chicken Chimichangas which are two tortillas stuffed with chicken, enchilada sauce, jack cheese and sautéed garlic mushrooms. Fried golden, finished with enchilada and arroz sauce, topped with green onions. Served with rice and beans.

Very unprofessional. I called in advance to obtain parking location since this area is under construction. The person on the phone provided me and a colleague the wrong parking location and was not clear, therefore we each received a $75 parking ticket. When I called to complain, a few things: 1 - I tried 5 times and no answer, 2 - spoke to the manager she said would escalate to her manager /owner and would call me back, nothing. 3 - I called back again after 7 days of silence, spoke to the same manager. She told me her manager said he would call and never did, and he said nothing can be done. I was furious that as a paying customer, and refer many clients and plan many events here we would not provide a reference for this place again. No call back to explain. Our two drinks, for 30 minutes, cost us $150.00 nothing in return from the owner, very unprofessional, very disappointed. Be aware when going to this place please. Note to owner: Parking location should be listed on their website with exact location details.

Went for lunch based on online lunchtime menu. When we arrived we were told they no longer had a lunch menu and hadn't had one for several years. We were offered a dinner menu which was way more expensive. Asked to speak to manager but told he was not available. Asked to speak to someone else in charge but there was no one else to talk to. Paid full dinner prices. No discount offered for erroneous online pricing. Very frustrating and disappointing.

Went to have dinner for my birthday and was highly disappointed 😞 We sat on the patio which was ok, but the drinks were so weak you could barely taste anything. I had to return my main salad, because it was so bad it was basically old and also had no flavor and lacked most of the ingredients the menu advertised. Our sangria was definitely from a previously opener bottle and could clearly taste the old wine. Sooooo bad I will never go back again. Thanks for ruining my birthday!

Not the place it used to be sorry to say. Could be because of the parking problems. The food was just ok. We asked for chips and dip and never got it. It looked very run down and dirty. It really is too bad because it was such a great place to eat. The view of the river and people paddling around was the only thing going for it.

Cute little restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Loved their tacos. Their margarita beers is why I went there and they did not dissapoint. They are huge!

Really sweet, attentive staff. Drinks were on point (last time I went I shared a pitcher of margarita)! I will say, however, the food is quite pricey for what it is and there's very little room to mix and match different foods. I guess it depends on their current (and/or target) clientele but I'd be happy to shell out for elevated/authentic Tex-Mex. Shorter menu + higher quality = better margins & happier customers.

To start... Saturday dinner time... the beers we wanted was out of stock. Went with Keith's draft and floating items in my glass. Then came to cutlery...old rice in the fork that was placed on the table. Clearly no emphasis on providing customers with clean dishes. Then customers that was sitting outside relocated inside without wearing masks while moving around in a restaurant. So much for providing safe Covid eating conditions. As for the good, it was good...no complaints on that. Everything was fresh and for the price not too bad...

Fantastic patio by the lake. Staff are wonderful and there's usually good beer there. Not a lot of tap if that's your thing, but a great atmosphere nonetheless. They have a big covered section for sunny days and the breeze keeps it cool. One of by favourite patios on the city.

Friendly servers, delicious food (and great portions), plus lovely location over the lake. White sangria was ho-hum, but the stars lost were for the long wait in getting the sangria pitcher, delivering the appetizers with the mains, and missing 2/7 entrées (not just delayed - fully not included, and took an extra 15 minutes to arrive). Many apologies from the server when I brought it up, but no offer of compensation. I'd still go back, but this particular experience was disappointing.

Had lunch there again today and it was great. The menu and portions wee great and there were well set up to comply with the pandemic restrictions on social distancing. Although I always enjoy it, this visit was made even better by our server Charlotte. She is among the best I have had anywhere in quite some time. Keep up the good work

We sat inside as the patio was closed due to rain which was fine. My friends and I had to move tables as there were spiders and cob webs everywhere around us. We got another table but there were still live spiders hanging above us the entirety of our stay. The server even admitted that spiders are located everywhere in the restaurant which was not nice to hear. For someone who does not like spiders, it was definitely a bad experience. The food was good hence the 2 stars.

I typically love this place, however when we got our food it was ice cold, our tacos were completely tasteless and the tortillas ripped in the middle and completely fell apart as soon as we touched them. I understand takeout due to covid affects the quality however we are very disappointed in our meal.

I attended the outdoor patio on Saturday afternoon. While the servers were very friendly the large wasp population was very problematic for most guests and should be dealt with. Servers wore masks but bartenders and wait staff were not social distancing or wearing masks inside while preparing drinks. I was quite surprised by this.

Love this place. Food is amazing with very friendly service. Been many times and will go many more times.

This place holds my esteem as it was there that I tried Mexican food for the first time. Their sizzling fajitas are the best and the view is not bad either.

Took my family to the Dow’s lake restaurant. I t was a beautiful day out so we sat on the patio which if you knew us we never do. Food was great. Service on the other hand needed work. I it server was more interested in serving a group of young adults who were drinking an awe full lot of alcohol. So needless to say we waited far to long for everything. Now the worst part of the visit was the spiders they were on the railings in the umbrellas and it didn’t seem to phase the staff when multiply tables complained and some got moved to other seats. Invest in someone to spray your patio. It unfortunately was too bad because we really enjoy the food.

Disgusting and dirty!!! It would not pass a heath inspection. I was there last night for a birthday party and was socked to see HUNDREDS of spiders, webs and dead flys directly above where I was eating. I tries to call today to let them know and their manager Eli basically blew me off and hung up! Beyond disappointed and disgusted by the entire experience. Do Not Recommend.
