Nicastro's is maybe the best niche grocery chain in the city. They have a wall of pasta, fresh deli meats and cheese, ready to go meals, and a nicely stocked specialty grocery section, with Italian toiletry brands, even. Fun store to visit, friendly staff. Try out the fresh coffee.

This is an awesome little Italian market and food boutique, I’m so happy I decided to stop by! They have a great selection of imports of all kinds, a very large collection of fresh and dry pastas, as well as a deli section with a variety of high quality, delectable meats and cheeses. I picked up some Spanish chorizo salami to bring home and it was incredible. The staff is also personable and very welcoming! I’ll definitely be back again.

I was looking for an alternative to nicastro's on Merivale because it's permanently closed now. Right now, I'm in Il Negozio Nicastro on Wellington St. I was just looking for anchovies and they have about seven different varieties to choose from. This place is awesome. Clean, attentive staff, great selection of wide variety of things. (I meant the store is clean but the staff are pretty clean too.) Highly recommended.

Small but nice Italian Deli. Great coffee and baked goods. Service is friendly and fantastic. Hoping the bistro/café section opens soon.

Not sure why earlier review doesn’t show. Very inclined to buy local. The charcuterie plate they sold me couldn’t be served. It was a pile of stale cold outs - that’s it. Nothing but three piles of sliced meat and absolutely egregious “eggplant”. Oh and the stale crackers. Guessing my $12 crackers were there before Covid. Yep I should have looked at BB date.

We're so lucky to have this business in Ottawa! You can tell they take pride in what they do. I needed help picking a selection of cheeses. Everything I tasted was incredible, and they were incredibly warm and welcoming. What a great experience! I can't thank them enough.

One of, if not the, best deli in Westboro. Meat and cheese selections off the charts. Great variety of Italian grocery items anywhere from oils, to pastas, to pre-made meals. Meats and cheeses are usually cheaper than any big chain grocery store I find.

Food and groceries have always been excellent, but the staff are what makes this place really special. 100% recommend.

My wife and I have been going to Nicastro for years for everything related to food, for a perfect Americano, a fantastic sandwich with freshly cut meats, or for fine food products. We have always loved the warm, courteous, and professional service we have always got from everyone there as well as the great and honest recommendations. It is a family business that has been operating for 3 generations and you can feel the owners' passion for what they do and their commitment to excellence. If you really love food, this is a place where you must go.

My go-to Italian market! This place isn't huge, but it does have a huge selection of cheeses, charcuterie, Italian groceries, olives, and prepared foods made in house. The sandwiches are terrific, and the service is both incredibly knowledgeable and courteous. Definitely a neighborhood gem!

My go to grocer in my hood. Family owned, and the most sweet and accommodating people you will meet. Also, have you seen a try to cheese selection? outstanding!

The staff here is excellent and this is one of the few stores in the city where you can buy Italian mascarpone.

A deceptively large grocery and deli selection is available here, and the staff is helpful in making recommendations. I love the sandwich counter for a quick lunch. Their buns are fresh daily, and you can call ahead with your order. My only wish is that the sandwich menu was posted on their website!

Great spot, products and service is top notch. Their fresh made for you coffee is delicious, along with their sausages and meatballs. Great selection of Italian treats as well to go with the coffee. A solid 4.5 out of 5 all around.

Dear good people of Nicastro's, As usual, the meats, cheeses and other Italian treats are out of this world! That said, I noticed the lasagnas and meatballs now have a fennel flavor. Do you make lasagnas and meatballs without fennel? Much preferred. I used to go to the Nicastro's in the glebe in early 2000. I don't remember the fennel flavor from that location. Thanks for considering.

Great selection of Italian ingredients and products. Lots of cheese and cured meats, frozen prepared food, and they have a hot sandwich counter.
