Fantastic. Paul did a special order for my company lunch of almost 100 people. Everyone loved it. The food is delicious, tastes fresh, and there is such a wide variety to choose from. I will definitely visit the restaurant for dinner and so will my coworkers. Thank you Paul and thank you to the Duna Bistro employees who also helped with our order!

What a nice dining experience. The hostess/waitress was delightful. Very friendly and welcoming. Delicious menu - made it difficult to choose. All the portions were generous and tasted very good. I thought the beet and cucumber salads we’re especially good. We had dessert - also outstanding. Chef came out to say hello. Highly recommend.

The food is amazing . it was my first time there and it will not be my last. The schnitzel is ridiculously big, it could feed 3 peoples. The perogies, the spatzel, the braised red cabbage.....mmmmmm. The server was alone, very nice lady, I gave her a big tip. FYI they don't have a liquor license. I already know what I will order when I go back 😅🤤

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Everything about it is perfect. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food was perfect. We had schnitzel, it came with spätzle, sauerkraut with bacon, mashed potatoes, cucumber salad. Don't even get me started on the homemade sodas. My husband and I will be going back to try everything on the menu because it's nearly impossible to choose what looks best. Definitely worth a visit - or 10.

Wow. Duma Bistro brings back memories of the best meals we had in Eastern Europe while living there. The goulash melted in your mouth with a nice paprika kick. The huge schnitzel was well pounded and tender and the jaeger sauce made it perfect. The spaetzle with cheese and sausage was a fabulous mixture. The beef rouladen was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. All these came with delicious sides of red cabbage, potato salad or cucumber salad. Many thanks to Chef Paul Simon who came out to thank us at the end of our meal. Duma Bistro created new memories for us that we hope to recreate again.

Being as a German almost a natural connaisseur of Schnitzel and Spätzle, I can only recommend this place. You could truly see that its chef, Paul, lived in Central Europe and strives to create a honest, traditional, culinary experience. Not only the restaurant's food, but its warm-hearted staff and its romantic-elegant furniture rounded up by classical music teleport you to somewhere between Austria, Germany and Hungary. By the way, you should not miss the multi-layered honey cake called Medovik - yuumm....

Fantastic home style yet elegant fare. Our table enjoyed the schnitzel, roulade, goulash and the accompaniments. We will absolutely return for special meals!

Duna is one of my top 5 favourite Ottawa restaurants. I keep telling myself that some day I’ll order something other than the schnitzel and spatzle for the main course, but it’s just SO GOOD. Our first visit was pre-Covid, and the interior of this place is absolutely stunning. A little bit of luxury tucked away in an unsuspecting strip mall in Bells Corners. We’ve dined in, dined on the pandemic-friendly patio, and had takeout multiple times. Every single time the food has been A+ quality, the service has been warm and friendly, and the portions are generous enough that we get to enjoy the meal for lunch the next day as well. There isn’t a single item on the menu that we have tried and didn’t enjoy thoroughly. I can’t recommend this restaurant to enough people, and have never had anyone NOT thank me for it later :) Enjoy! Edited to add: Definitely #1 of my top 5 restaurants. It gets better every single time we visit. Every single food and drink item is just perfectly done. Absolutely delicious.

Enjoyed a traditional Czech meal on Christmas eve with the family. Was shocked at the size of the Schnitzel's, they were huge. Definitely recommend this place

Duna Bistro was was one of the best restaurants my husband and I have been to in a very long time. The food was spectacular - I ordered the chicken paprikash with cucumber salad, and he got the schnitzel with sauerkraut salad (the portions were AMAZING). We also ordered the pierogis and pelmeni as appetizers, but unfortunately didn’t get pictures as they were eaten as soon as they hit the table. The dough on the pierogis was just like grandma used to make them, with the fresh dill bringing it all together. The atmosphere was exactly what you hope - classical music, beautiful art, and very comfortable chairs. Our server was so kind and attentive, and the chef came to check on each table to ensure they were enjoying your meals. You truly don’t get service like this in many places. I highly recommend this restaurant and is worth going out of your way to visit.

I was here with my wife on Sunday celebrating a recent friend's birthday. The food was nothing short of amazing and authentic, to say the least! I was very impressed with how much thought is put into the atmosphere and the connection to their patrons. I felt very fortunate to have found such a hidden gem in the city and can't wait to go back to try out the rest of the delicious food that was missed on our last visit. The owners make you feel like family and I loved how personable they were including the warm welcome as we came in. I would highly recommend this place to my family and friends and to anyone else who seeks an authentic meal served how it should be if you were back home.

This is a hidden gem, Absolutely! Hidden in the corner of a old run-down strip mall. Family run and family feel to the restaurant. The restaurant is clean and unique. Service is like being part of the family. The Food is exceptional!!! Schnitzel and Pierogies are Fresh, tasty, and large portion. Salads and Potatoes are amazing. Every food option was amazing. Kudos to the kitchen!! Kudos to the family!! Job well done for a most excellent schnitzel!!

Loved our meal here. We did take away, they prepared our meal very fast, which was great because the smells in this restaurant made us so hungry! We got the minced pork perogies and schnitzel with a side of spaetzle and braised red cabbage! Massive portions! The schnitzel was so thin and tender, next time we'll get a spaetzle as a main course rather than a side, it was delicious. Everything was so fresh and tasty and the owners are very kind. We will certainly be back!!

Came from Australia to share a celebratory meal with family. All agreed the food was great and the service excellent and very friendly. The cucumber salad, just the way Mum used to make, and the Honey Cake, melt in the mouth delicious. It’s a long way from Sydney Australia to Ottawa, but a meal here was a bonus to our visit.

4.9/5 Google review is real! This place deserves a 5/5. Portions are huge, flavourful, fresh, authentic eastern European cuisine. Very good selection of tea, amazing desert. Everyone passing by this area has to come and try.

First time at Duna Bistro and I was pleasantly surprised. Waitress was polite friendly and prompt. I ordered the chicken paprikash and cucumber salad for dinner. Wow it was so good and thankfully I had only one plate or else I would not stop eating. I highly recommend this Duna Bistro if you like Hungarian food.

This was our second time here. The food is always delicious , and the portions are generous. If there is a particular dish you have your heart set on, I would call ahead to make sure they have it to avoid disappointment. They tend to sell out of some items because they're busy. Also note, they do not serve alcohol, but do carry a non-alcoholic beer.

I do not have enough good things to say about this place and the management. To start off we showed up with a party of 8, just before closing. Instead of turning us away, we were welcomed. The waiter was super friendly and helpful. Then the food came...We all ordered different meals and it was all fantastic. The portions were so large that only one of us finished. It's rated a 4.9/5 for a reason. Go here, try it and enjoy. Trust me when I say it is worth the drive.

We ordered pierogies as an app, schnitzel with sauerkraut, potato salad, and spaetzle with cucumber salad for take out. We both enjoyed our dishes and they definitely remind me of some dishes we tried in Germany and from some German family.

My husband and I are extremely happy we decided to drive an hour and come savour the best Schnitzel we have ever had. The Schnitzel was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. We were pleasantly surprised our meal came very quick. The lady who served us was very kind and she quickly offered a substitute when my husband declined a side salad with his meal. This little gem definitely deserves 5 full stars!!!

The pork Wiernn Schnitzel at Duna was delicious -- the best I have had in Ottawa. On our first visit my friend had the beef roulade dish which was equally tasty. I returned on June 9 to try the beef Goulash with spaetzle with a side of saeurkraut. Tender chunks of beef in a paprika sauce. So good I forgot to take a picture! My dinner companions enjoyed the Schnitzel with Jaeger (hunter) mushroom sauce. After the meal we chatted with the chef and owner. The restaurant had one waitress so don't eat here if you're in a rush. There is no alcohol license yet. Reservations are recommended but difficult to make as restaurant open in late afternoon and busy / limited staff don't pick up the phone. The chandeliers and Viennese waltz music gave the restaurant added to the ambience of our dining experience.

10/10, Will come again. Upon entry I was immediately blown by the atmosphere. Feels like a traditional, high class Eastern European restaurant. Service is immaculate. Food brought back childhood memories. Oh and the most important thing - the portions are enormous! Very Very large portions. The waitress is super attentive and it feels like she can read your mind - the experience shows through and through. Excellent job all around!
