Great fun, we had a great day skating at RiverOak. Lots of parking, several places to put on your skates. They have washrooms on site. If you don't have skates you can rent them there. They also have helmets and snowshoes for rent. The trails are wide and well groomed with some slight uphill and downhill spots. There are about 3 areas cleared for playing shinny with nets. Best to bring your own stick and puck. There are multiple places to rest around the loop with either hay bales or benches. There is a food truck and a mini donut truck but the donut truck is only open on weekends. Overall a great place to spend a few hours or the day/evening. Some trails are lighted.

Wow, what a great place, so much fun with the kids!! lots of tracks that interconnect, no one-way enforced so you can skate wherever you want!

Such a cool place! We spent about 3 hours skating the trails, playing shinny hockey, eating poutine and dessert waffles, sitting by the fire and skating some more! The owners are super friendly and their dogs as well. Thanks for the hospitality and conversation!

Only got to visit RiverOak Ice skating trail once this season on the last weekend they were open. I can't wait until next year so I can come back and enjoy it some more. So many trails to enjoy and hay bails throughout the property on the side of trails to take a break. We especially loved the fresh mini cinnamon sugar coated donuts as a snack.

Overall good skating experience. In Ottawa area this is a nice option before the Rideau Canal skateway is open. Reasons why not 5 starts: - parking can fill up fast (after 2pm there was already too many vehicles) - parts of ice had holes, rocks sticking out)

I went there probably for the last day of the season. Or tomorrow could be the last one. Nice and cozy place. They are really nice attending. You can enjoy all day there if you have time.

Amazing skate through the woods, with some uphill and downhill portions. Lots of interconnecting skating trails inside of the the 1.5km loop. Highly recommended!

More than 21 Canadian dollars, not cheap There is a lane next to it that seems like residents can go in and skate directly. I don’t know if I have to pay πŸ˜‚ but we did. Maybe because of the weather, many roads are not icy and a bit slippery. But there are some facilities for playing, which is pretty good.

What an amazing place! Went in with very high expectations and they were still exceeded. We came up from the states for the trails and the 3v3 tournament and everyone from the other teams and skaters to the staff to the owners were all wonderful. This was honestly the best ice we skated all weekend. Can't recommend this place enough and plan on returning. Thanks RiverOak!

I came here four years ago and this past weekend. The trails were not all open but it was still fun. They have hockey sticks and pucks which you can skate around with. There is a nice stand for food, good bathrooms, fires and a cozy lodge. I bought some maple syrup here too!

Lovely skate trail through the trees! Heated lodge, outdoor fire pit, snacks & drinks make this the perfect winter experience

It would be nice to have an update on trail conditions and what is closed. As it is we skated the outer perimeter - 2.1 km. Then we did connecting trails in the center a couple of times and it quickly got booring. Overall time spent - 30 minutes. Cost for a family of four - $71.19. Way overpriced for the experience.

Very cool experience! Many of the paths through the woods had lights strung for night skating. There were some rough patches and a section that was closed, but clearly a lot of work went into providing this experience. The lodge had a singer playing guitar, there were washrooms easily accessible and there was even a shelter with firepit along one of the trails. I will definitely try to do this once a year!

Very poor ice conditions! Chips. Blade marks. Small and large bumps over entire ice surface. No flooding or cleaning done. Bare patches of mud on ice. No maintenance in sight. A total of maybe 1 km in trails, but had to skate in circles just to get that amount. Pathways closed with no notice. No signage. No pylons to mark bad ice. Tripped on poor ice the entire length. Dangerous! Teen boys skating on pathways playing hockey that we had to dodge. Awful experience. Free-for-all!!!! Sent them an email and they never responded. Poor customer service. $42 was a waste of money and time. Would be afraid to let younger kids skate here because of the poor conditions and older hockey players getting priority. Prefer other skating trails in the area over this badly managed trail.

Went on opening day and the ice was very bumpy and not enjoyable at all. Lots of people we spoke to were also complaining. Not all the trails were open either but you are required to pay full price. For a family of 4 with tax we blew $70 and we didnt last long. Would like a partial refund if possible and hope to return when skating trails are more smooth. More warming stations would also be great, espically near the benches outside where u can put on and remove your skates since we need to remove our mitts to this. The inside area is too small.

My 14 year old daughter and I tried to visit this place to skate last week, given the amazing Google reviews. Unfortunately, it was closed despite the online schedule saying it was open. We arrived and there was no visible sign saying closed. We simply walked to the head of the trail and then back to the car. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the owner came at us shouting, swearing and threatening us for β€œtrespassing”. My daughter was terrified. I was very concerned that we were about to get shot. I would not recommend anyone to visit this business. It was truly a traumatic event.

Great atmosphere and ice is in good condition. Great for a day with family or taking a special lady on a date. Fireplace is cosy and they offer food and drinks for sale. We'll be back!

Loved the trails. Unfortunately the ice wasn’t great. Easy skate rental. We sampled the apple cider. FireCide tasted like pickle juice. Not good. Regardless, it was a special afternoon with my daughter.

River Oak Skating Trails exceeded my expectations with an incredible blend of a welcoming staff, top-notch skating trails, and an enchanting winter wonderland of skating fun. The staff's warmth and attentiveness added to the overall experience, creating a delightful atmosphere. The skating trails were not only well-maintained but also offered a perfect balance of excitement and safety. It truly felt like stepping into a winter wonderland, making each moment on the trails a memorable and magical experience. This place deserves every bit of its five-star rating!

Our family loves skating at the Riveroak skating trails. It is so pretty to skate through the orchard at dusk when the sun is setting and the decorative lights come on. Playing a quick game of shinny is fun too!
