This is my go-to spot in the summer when I want to get out of the house, have a sunny walk, and maybe try to find some snakes in the tall plants. Very well maintained, quaint, relaxing. The best time to visit is during the week as it can get busy on a beautiful summer weekend. Keep an eye out for the little fairy houses along the path!

Beautiful spot to walk. Trail is about 1 km long, not a loop. There is a covered picnic table area there.

Nice area for a walk. Board walk is really nice. There are water facing benches along the way. Great view of the Rideau river and Barrhaven Vimy memorial bridge. You will see mostly walkers but once in a while you will bump into bikers which can be bit challenging. There is public washroom near parking area. Finding parking can be bit challenging but if you are willing to walk a bit you can park at Riverside park and go to this trail via bridge.

Gorgeous hiking trail along the Rideau river which loops under the Vimy Memorial Bridge. The trail is super easy and accessible with well marked signs. There are lovely wooden footpaths and park benches with beautiful vistas of the waterway. Well maintained and easily doable in every season. Highly recommended.

An excellent trail that’s located right within the city. With a combination of paved and wooden pathways, and small bridges and waterways, it never gets boring. And the trail goes right under the Vimy Memorial Bridge, and that is a sight to see. Highly recommended.

Nice short photogenic trail. mostly broadwalk so stroller friendly. Lots of small creatures to see, though I did not find turtle. Trail closely connected to highway so car noise among the chirping birds. I don't think fishing is allowed here but saw ppl fishing. there should be authorities to watch.

This was an excellent place to visit. Tucked away from bustling traffic. Only drawback to me, its very loud which spoils natural quiteness.

So nice to hear the birds again, although I think a nature security person should be hired to do rounds, I don't think fishing is allowed here! Here are some spring pics after the snow has melted and the red winged black birds are trying to impress some ladies... Although not green and colourful yet, there's still much beauty and peace to behold in a walk in nature. I've seen people rush by, and probably not even be aware of the pretty sites. If your taking the time to go, take the time to take it all in as well... Explore...

Great place to take out your kayak or paddle board. Lots of parking available and just a short walk to the dock. There is even a pavilion with lots of picnic tables. We saw lots of walkers, kayakers and people just there to relax by the water. There is a pathway but we did not go for a walk. Next time! Highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere to take your kayak out.

Nice trail. Well-maintained by the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority. There are outhouses at the trailhead. Beautiful spot for a walk on a sunny day. Lots of wildlife. Much of the trail is very close to Prince of Wales Drive, so you're never very far from the street noise.

Great place for a walk with family. Free parking! Feasible with a stroller but a bit rocky here and there. Outhouse for bathrooms near parking. Picnic tables for lunch too. Beautiful during the fall!

Cute board walk- a lot of people fishing. Can be crowded fast. Good for pictures and watching people boating on the river. Beautiful walk with your friends or dogs (on leash). The boardwalk is Right next to the main busy road which takes away from the beauty a bit so only giving it 3 stars. Free Parking available.

Excellent little spot to drop your kayaks with free parking and picnic tables. And don't forget to explore the walkway that takes you thru the conservation areas and towards the Vimy Bridge.

Great place for a fun and easy hike along the boardwalk. When it’s hot, you can sit under the bridge to cool off. If you are feeling adventurous you can go kayaking as well!

It's a lovely place to go clear your head and get fresh air from being in the city. Sometimes it is a bit too busy for my liking, but ho hum!

This is one of the reasons why I love Ottawa. In the middle of an urban neighbourhood, you can find marshes and wetlands, and a nice place to go for a walk. Along the boardwalk, you’ll find many places to stop and rest, and enjoy the view.

A beautiful walking and strolling park along the Rideau River. Nice boardwalks accompanied by seating areas to view the nature and relaxing river. Well kept up and access and parking are not a problem. I enjoyed this exhilarating time at this scenic park very much and hope to make it back in the summer.

Short and sweet 1hr scenic break from the city. Most of the trail is fun boardwalk but also gravel and packed pavement with big pot holes; few small but steep hills. Stroller-pushers bring your A game but can be done; dog owners there are places you can "pullover" and let others pass but there's not much room between these points on the trail to allow another to pass by your reactive dog. Washrooms and garbage cans at the parking lot.

It's a good place to enjoy a hiking or spend time with family. There are some brenches during all trail. They are convenient for who feels a bit tired. The parking lot is free but it's not big at all. All the time that I've been there was hard to find a spot. Another great point, you can lunch you boat, kayak or canoe there and enjoy the Rideau River.

Great place for nature learning bird watching and enjoying being outside. The walk its light and good for children to walk or use a stroller. It can be busy and there is poison hog weed in places.

Great board walk. Needs a little updating because some of the wood is popping up. But we still love it here so much. It's great for a walk with or without the dogs. People let there kids go swimming or fishing. We go paddle boarding all the time here. Lots of birds, turtles and other small wild life. Wonderful picnic area. Not tones of parking and it's often busy so it's often better to park on the road leading in and walk. Someone put up fairy doors it's a fun scavenger hunt.

Great little oasis in the city for a quick walk along the boardwalk. There's a spot to launch your kayak/canoe/paddleboard right at the beginning and lots of fun trail markers explaining all the different wildlife present. Great spot to get your nature fix!

A delightful trail with a very good boat launch. We canoed 20k from Dows lake to put in here and visit friends. I've been visiting this trail for years - it's nice to see the new pedestrian bridge and boat launch. It seemed well-attended in the evening, full of cheerful families and paddle-boarders. Keen-eyed nature observers can find turtles and garter snakes here too.

Such a beautiful path for nature watching. We took our dog (leashed path) and had a lovely time looking at all the birds. A few of the wooden boards were loose so make sure to watch your step!

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Best off-leash dog park in the area. Massive open space with some seating plus a huge amount of trails to explore. There is even a rainbow bridge to post your lost pup's tag which always brings tears to our eyes.
