Really enjoy climbing here for multiple reasons. They have two sections; one for everyone and the second side for 13+. The gym is large and doesn’t feel to crowded on busy days. There is a wide range of difficulty levels for beginners to people with experience. They change up the problems often which is nice if you are climbing here on the regular. A lot of fun activities for kids to enjoy. The staff here is always friendly and helpful. The gym section is well equipped with weights and some machines. It can become a bit expensive if you’re renting gear. I would recommend getting the pass if you climb frequently.

Came here 3 times now and each time has been super fun. Totally recommend for a fun activity. Lots of fun courses with different difficulties. It is a bit expensive to drop in regularly if you don’t have your own shoes however.

This company is a joke. I like to call them a "toy gym". They aren't in the leagues of the real-deal bouldering gyms, but it's the best (and by best I mean only) bouldering gym that Ottawa has got. The walls and their angles are underwhelming, and the holds/volumes are lacking in variety. The only nice thing about them is the fact that they are new, and therefore still nicely textured (and this will not last). Their operations are centered around the business of making money and hosting kid's birthday parties. It is NOT a gym built and focused around the climbing community. Altitude Gym is a far cry from being a "for climbers, by climbers" gym. The facility itself holds huge potential, but Altitude failed in their execution. It is truly unfortunate. Most of the staff are great. Route setting used to be a redeeming factor, and now even that seems to have fallen by the wayside. It is evident that where this gym lacks is in its management. One star just for being a bouldering gym.

We love this place! My oldest Son is an advid climber and this place is great! We went for his birthday last year and can't wait to go again! UPDATE: went to the gym for my sons 23rd birthday this year. Had a blast! They have added some great new climbing. Can't wait till we go again.

First time bouldering here. It was about $55 for the two of us including shoe rentals. They had changerooms with lockers and they lent us a lock and key to store our stuff. The water fountain/bottle refill and bandaids came in clutch. The bouldering area was huge and had lots of entry level routes to try out (even for kids).

Great bouldering gym with lots of space. Suitable for any age. There is a full workout area that includes climbing specific training equipment and a small Ninja Warrior course with 3 different tracks. They also have a small cafe where you can order food and drink. There is a small area for top roping with auto belay. They have an augmented reality wall which is more suited for kids. It's a great quality facility.

Very recommended indoor activity place! It is a big and clean place with many climbing walls. The place is divided into two parts, for adults and for children. You can also celebrate birthdays here. P/S: My kids spent there about five or six hours and and they didn't want to leave.

My son enjoyed a wonderful PD day Camp at Altitude Gym. When I picked him up, his glasses were missing and a staff member told me that she had last seen them on the floor and preceded to look through snow pants. When she saw them she didn’t pick them up and put them somewhere safe. She left them on the floor and when they were eventually found, by another staff member who picked them up, they were scratched entirely on both lenses. Altitude Gym has called me to inform me that they will take no responsibility for this employees negligence. I did not want the cost of the glasses covered but some sort of act of good business. Instead I got a call taking zero responsibility.

A really clean, big gym with superb equipment. They do a great job separating the kids so they aren't running around feral like at the Gatineau location. Unfortunately the gym does not retain their good staff members, there seems to be some short sighted decision making at the top, and it shows.

Awesome space for a unique and challenging workout. So many fun, interesting and thought-provoking routes for any ability level in the bouldering section. Friendly and courteous staff are very helpful getting the gear you need. Very clean, well lit facility throughout. There are limited belay walls and better suited to a younger athlete. The ninja warripr course has some very challenging obstacle.

Fantastic place!! Took the kids over the holidays, and we had a blast. Lots of space for them to try out climbing in a safe environment. Staff is amazing, friendly, and very helpful. The picture is from Christmas Eve. Look at all the enthusiastic people getting in a climb before Santa comes!

This is a very large climbing gym with bouldering walls, a ninja course, auto-belay wall and more. I've taken youth groups to this gym several times and the kids always love it. The staff are helpful and the vibe is relaxed and supportive.

Big gym with a bunch of great walls. The staff do a great job setting up routes so you'll find something fun for everyone. The auto belay is really fun too, although I wish they had some more of it. If you really like longer routes and top-rope, I'd recommend going to Gatineau. The staff at Palladium are super nice and are all really chill. There's tons of space to spread out and relax too, and a cafe too!

Every trip has been a blast. Very welcoming environment, even though we're beginners we feel welcomed and encouraged by the staff and also the other patrons. Great environment for kids. Tons of fun, they update the walls often to provide new challenges for all levels. Awesome spot!

Great place to learn rock climbing 🧗‍♀️. I have tried it for the first time and loved it. We booked it in the last minute but it’s worth trying and having climbing experience. Also it’s great workout for your body. It’s very big gym and clean. We really liked the service and staff. They really took time to explain everything and guide if needed. Staff is really friendly. I would visit for sure in the future. They will provide you the shoes for extra price. Ninja 🥷 training is closed when we were there. And also games. But it’s great place to visit and spend some time.

This place is amazing! So many different bouldering walls and about a dozen auto belaying climbs, not to mention the ninja course. Great for all ages, spacious and very clean, great building actually. Was a bit difficult to spot from the road, it's in the Lockheed Martin building, so pull in there. They do birthday parties and camps, it was the brightest, cleanest, most professionally run climbing gym I've ever been to, not to knock grass roots gyms, but this place is slick. Oh yeah, there's a CrossFit-style training area in the back as well.

This place is very spacious with a large training area and a spray wall, lots of boulder problems. They even have a Cafe. However, I have been to over a dozen bouldering gyms in Ontario, and Altitude has by far the worst grading system I have seen. There are only 5 grades, but they have such a HUGE range and overlap that I felt I was wasting a lot of time either climbing routes that were way too easy or too difficult, and not climbing appropriately at my own level. It took too long to find those climbs because the range covered so much. They had a comp wall and slab wall that was color coded differently as well but not clearly indicated so it was also confusing at first figuring out both and which side was the normal grading. I was here a year ago and I think they had a much better grading system back then.

Had a kids birthday here recently for my daughter's 8th birthday. Very well run but the staff, the facilities were great and the kids had an awesome time with the variety of activities they guide the group through. Definitely a great option if you're looking for a fun party idea!

Great gym! Lots of fun! Love it. I started going there a few months ago and i have absolutely nothing to complain about! The facility is pretty big. Mostly bouldering. There are some auto belay climbs of various difficulty. A climbing-oriented fitness station. A change room. Party rooms. Augmented Reality (AR) wall. And a special electronic weird wall where you select the difficulty you want lol - not sure how it's called nor how it really works :) What else? I believe you just have to give it a try Kanata location is my favorite one personally. 100% would recommend.

I joined this gym about two months ago and I've had an amazing time. As a beginning climber, staff have been incredibly helpful, and other members are very friendly and always happy to help and support new climbers. My brother, who is a much better and more experienced climber, is always telling me what a great job they do setting routes and maintaining the gym. They do a great job with COVID-19 protocols and I've never felt unsafe climbing here. Staff are extremely professional and friendly. They also have a fantastic gym at the back which was a major selling point for me — squat racks, benches, dumbbells, kettlebells, and tons of other equipment for people who want to lift before or after a climb.

  • 5/5 Maaike H. 2 years ago on Google
Fantastic experience here. Tons of options for all skill levels, excellent COVID safety policies - I'm pretty cautious and I felt comfortable here. Was not overcrowded. The staff were amazingly helpful - Ashley and Jake in particular were wonderful - they gave lots of tips and were really helpful with my partner and my nieces. Everyone in our party wanted to come back again.

I’d give it 5 stars if they could create a family pass. The price is pretty steep for a family to come and climb. We have all our own gear and it was still almost $100 to climb for a family of 4. It’s something we would love to do more often but it would be really nice if they could create a family pass. Love all the kid friendly features. We were able to spend hours here. But you can tire quickly so if you don’t spend enough time then it’s expensive. Pack your own lunch to take a break so you can get the most out of your time there. Gym is very nice, bathrooms are clean. Challenging routes for all levels of climbers and a few easy one for beginners and children. Not busy at all. We would love to go more often but the price is holding us back.

Advertising a ninja warrior course and no resemblance to the real ninja warrior course at all. Great for maybe 10 year olds however for a group of 5 teenagers it was very disappointing. Then when asking for a refund, manager rudely refused saying that because we were in the course for 15 minutes out of the 2 hours, we would only be able to get a refund for 1 person.

Had a blast climbing here with my husband. Staff was super friendly and helpful, and the routes varied in difficulty. They have a cafe run by the sweetest human and his food is delicious! Would come back just to eat here again!

Altitude gym is fantastic. I took my kids here for the day, spent 3+ hours there and they were still climbing my furniture when we got home. They have boulder climbing that was suited for my 4 and 6 year old. They had these auto belays so my kids could climb with a harness, they absolutely loved it (even my 2 year old). There is also this inclosed room where a projector is displayed on a climbing wall so my kids could play a game and climb, such a cool option! We'll definitely be coming back.

Nice place for friends and family, but the overall experience is not worth the price. For the regulars, a subscription would make it. The climbing walls are not all provided with retracting ropes. The location requires clients to sign mandatory waivers as a disclaimer to hold them harness in case of any accident. Pretty unfair toward the clients. I suggest installing more retracting security ropes to improve security for clients that may fall or harm themselves. I loved the gym ! It is spacious and has a great variety of problems. I feel like you can choose to train hard or to simply have fun with easier, yet very intetesting problems and diversified holds, which is rarely the case in gyms i have been to. I'll come back for sure if i'm around again !

This place is awesome! Although there is very little lead/top-ropes, there is a massive bouldering area. If you have visited the other altitude location, you can expect maybe double as much bouldering, and a big, clean well run place. While this location does not have the clip and climb/party area of the other location, there is a ninja warrior course which is great. I believe it costs extra though.

Had a great time here. We came at the best time. Other than one other family, we were the only ones there. The staff are very knowledgeable and fun. They took care of all our needs. Prices were very reasonable, I was expecting it to cost more. I recommend this for any fun loving family.

Easy online reservation. Everything seemed cleaned and well organized due to COVID. Im giving 2 stars because I rented shoes and found a used plaster in it afterwards. It really disgusted me so i decided to tell them at reception and they didn't seem to care. Apparently the shoes are cleaned in buckets but...I do recommend the place, I had a great time but bring your shoes!

Family/friends oriented gym. Perfect for any level. My son has been doing classes here for several years and he loves it. All instructors have been great! No top-roping unfortunately, just bouldering, and children under 13 are only allowed on one side of the gym (which is a bummer for my preteen who can solve Level 4/5 problems).

  • 3/5 Amanda H. 4 years ago on Google
I've always liked this gym. However‚ tonight I was injured on my first run. It's partially my fault for not warming up properly‚ but also because of their new rental shoes. They are these cheap black and orange slipper like shoes that have no structure at all. They are dangerous and I'm shocked that no one else has been injured or has complained. Thankfully the man working at the front refunded myself and my friend. I will definitely not be back until I can afford my own shoes.

Great modern climbing gym with tons of bouldering, a ninja warrior course, smoothy/soft drinks bar, and 11 auto-belays. Only downside is lack of top-rope or lead climbing options, better to visit the Gatineau location if that's your thing.
