😠 Really friendly staff. However, their drop in rate is $9 (and monthly passes are not affordable either). I don't know how most are supposed to be able to afford this, especially if they are someone on a fixed or limited income. These facilities are already subsidized with taxpayer money and drop-ins... People often mention pool, swimming, small, good, room, clean,

Really friendly staff. However, their drop in rate is $9 (and monthly passes are not affordable either). I don't know how most are supposed to be able to afford this, especially if they are someone on a fixed or limited income. These facilities are already subsidized with taxpayer money and drop-ins should never cost more than $5! It really makes me sad that the income barrier to a healthy lifestyle is so high and they are doing a disservice to public health along the way. It would be one thing if he's were privately owned but these, and the many other recreation centers, have a duty to achieve broad accessibility to public good services and facilities.

Good memories. Learned to swim there around 1950. I was a regulat there. At that time you could rent a bathing suit for 10 cents.

Pretty decent facility… though they need to do a better job of communicating when they don’t open according to schedule.

The pool is small and only 25 yds in length. But it is downtown. It's also pool only with the mezzanine floor used as a boxing gym. It also comes with a nice sauna. The water temperature is on the cool side.

The gym is clean, it is not to busy too. I rather go to the gym here that other gym. But it is very small, but that is no problem to me.

Really like doing lane swimming here. Lots of available time slots and the building has neat character.

DO NOT GO, your stuff will be stolen. Even with a padlock. Friendly people, lifeguard teenagers, no security whatsoever so AVOID until they do something about theft. , , , , .

The pool is rarely busy. Great for a quick swimming workout.

Phenomenal facility. Sunny, warm, bright, and a $5 drop in tax-in to go swimming. Not sure what Brent is talking about below with $9. They have yearly passes for seniors that are ridiculously cheap as well.

Great location and set-up, excellent instructors, intensive workout.

  • 4/5 Matt C. 7 years ago on Google
Amazing location and is really clean. The change rooms are small but it's not much of an issue, and the pool is 25 yd instead of 25m. The only odd thing is that each lane alternates swimming on the left vs swimming on the right. Never seen that before and it kind of confuses me.

This is a solid community center gym. Good selection of weights and machines, and it's never been to busy when I visit. The pool is really popular, but I don't use it. The only drawback for me are its hours. It opens at 9am Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. If you prefer to work out early in the morning, this is a drag. But nothing some schedule adjustments can't fix!

I go swimming here regularly. They have 4 lanes, 25 yards long each. Water sometimes could be a tad cold, but if you don't stay at one place for too long, you won't feel that. The place is quite small, with a tiny locker room, where everybody's stepping on each other's toes, and only 4-6 showers. The water is heavily chlorinated, such as that even after washing my towels, I can still smell it.

25yd lanes, swam today and was humbled by the other older folks who were more than willing to assist. Staff super friendly and very helpful providing a ton of info

Great community gym, weight room, lap pool, and training area. Relatively well maintained, and cozy. Since it's small, you'll need to avoid the kid rush hour for the pool. Same goes for the weight room. Great options of machines. My only gripe is their annual summer closure for over a month is annoying, and leaves locals without a car, without options.

City of Ottawa run good outgoing staff there not only worried about your physical appearance but rather give you goals motivation wich in return you feel good about yourself and your more productive working to reach that goal.

The swimming pool is small but most of the swimmers know how to share lanes without any issue. The gym is very cheap looking and the equipment are super old. The men's locker room are clean and well taking care of. In conclusion, just your typical City of Ottawa gym.

  • 4/5 Nick L. 6 years ago on Google
Nice. Pool is smaller than the Lowertown pool but is generally not too full. Except right after New Year's for some reason. Have not tried the boxing gym. Don't be an idiot, lock up your valuables or don't bring them. People are what they are.

If you find you get distracted a lot at the gym this is the place for you. Not a lot of people so you can always get your workout done fast.
