Best after work boating port. Super wide view, very gradual shore. Can take trailer right into water. Suitable for any water sports. Best part is super close to work/home. Simply perfect place.

This is a nicely tucked away little park here at Shirley’s Bay. There isn’t much too it but it has a nice gazebo with tables to have a lunch or just relax with a coffee. Nice views of the bay and the boat ramp. I believe you can also access this park if you leave your car at Shirley’s Bay Trail parking and make it all the way here. It’s quite the hike but it’s very nice along the way. They have a few nice Adirondack chairs so you can sit and enjoy the view. πŸ‘πŸ˜Ž

One of the hidden gems in Ottawa! There is a small beach with small boat launch. Perfect for canoes, paddle board or small sail boats. There is parking and outhouse, little covered area and small park to have charcoal bbq. There is a 6km hike loop behind the Shirley Bay that takes you to other smaller waterfront. Dogs are not allowed at Shirley Bay Park but on the hiking trails dogs on leash are allowed.

Perfect spot for a kayaking or a small boat. There is a deck so you can lower your boat. Also there are a couple of spots near the island where you can fish. It’s amazing for a family picnic or bbq. I would recommend going before the sun set about two hours and enjoy the view and the good weather.

This is such a great spot! Great park for a picnic, to just to enjoy the nice weather or enjoy the sunset. It’s also a great place to go Kayaking, Paddle boarding & Canoeing. As for swimming, it’s a nice spot but you may not like it if you don’t like feeling seaweed and such in certain spots. But the water’s calm and warm these days. Definitely a go to spot for my family and I.

Nice place to catch a sunset and enjoy being close to the water. There is no beach per se, only rocks before the water. Nice play to hang out and have a BBQ. Overall, you can enjoy a nice view all day while chilling.

A small hike is available along the road you drive in on (East side). The area is isolated and great for kayaking. The water is calm and the current is relatively weak within the entire area. Pictures are from the same spot in summer/winter.

Beautiful vista, the sunset is almost always amazing to see! Fishing has been absolutely terrible this year but I'm also just a terrible fisherman. I have also never seen the place so busy in all my life, lots of disrespectful people who leave litter and fishing line everywhere. Got an ear infection the other day from snorkeling here but I should have expected that. Overall: Not very peaceful anymore but still a great place to get away and get some sun!

Great place to do ice fishing in the winter. Nothing big, mostly small perch walleyes and the odd ling in the night. Free parking. The ice is usually thick enough by the end of December.

Great park to visit for a swim or a fish. Far enough away from roads that you don't hear the cars anymore. Beware though, there is a shooting range next door though so u may hear firearms being discharged.

It's winter and everything was snowy. Very beautiful. At this particular location there was car parking and two longdrop toilets. One of them was out of order, but the other was much appreciated. I'll have to come back here in the summer. :-)

Awesome little place to meditate...and float, in the water.

Small but nice beach area with short walk along the shoreline. You can rent canoes and kayaks there and the water it pretty calm so a nice easy paddle if that's what your looking for. If you drive further down the road past Shirley's Bay there are some more trails that are worth checking out if your in the area

Lovely spot on the Ottawa river. Rocky beach and very shallow water. Nice for a short walk, wading and great for a paddle. It is my goto for Ottawa kayaking. Getaway on the edge of the city

It's ok. Crowded quite a bit. Not very suitable for swimming. Good for kayak.

Interesting place to visit year-round. Good spot to see across the Ottawa River to Gatineau/Aylmer Quebec.

Need to get there early on a hot day to get shade/tables. Rock Beach not sand so no need for sand toys. Nice slope so plenty of swimming space. Great place to kayak, canoe and paddle board.

Very nice spot to sit by the water. Awesome place to view a sunset. Be careful of the potholes at the entrance of the parking.

Nice place to relax. But you might hear gunshots sometimes as there is a training camp nearby.

A great place to access the river, including few trails for short hikes. Lots of parking too.
