This restaurant is amazing, the food, the service. Most of the food is made from Scratch. I had the French onion soup and their recommended buttermilk chicken burger, let’s just say your taste buds will be blown away. Crispy, delicious and the flavours, amazing They also have an amazing spinach and artichoke dip as starter and also delicious

Really impressed by this place! Great food, nice vibe (an outdoor patio!) and entertainment. We didn’t stay for the Thursday trivia but it was fun talking to the host who was going around to see if people were interested - prize changes every week but it looked like a big box of goodies for when we were there. Small place so we were in a rush to finish our meal because we were at a table that was already reserved (would recommend making a reservation because there aren’t a lot of tables). It also stated getting harder to hear the longer we stayed - but that’s normal for a pub. Highly recommend the buttermilk fried chicken Sammy (I think that’s what it was called?) with the beet walnut salad on the side. Will be back!

This place deserve’s six stars! Julie, our waitress was spectacular. Fish and chips are fried and battered on the spot. Everything tasted so fresh. Can’t wait to go back!

We come here semi-frequently to partake in their heated outdoor patio. In the winter time around the holidays they decorate it so nicely, and it's a pleasure to sit out there! We came yesterday for an outdoor patio dinner and it was nice with the heat lamps going and we were even offered some cozy blankets, which were a nice touch. :) the food was tasty as usual and the portions are quite large! I love their in-house made veggie burger, so many places just have the standard boxed bean burger or that awful "Beyond" burger and it's so nice to see a restaurant put time and effort into offering a delicious vegetarian option. We've brought several friends and out of town family here and everyone enjoys it! Definitely check it out if you're in Findlay Creek.

Enjoyable lunch with a great atmosphere and very attentive and charming server. The special was delicious. The only thing I disliked was the Mule cocktail (ginger beer overpowered everything and it was watery at the end). Lunch was priced well; the drink was overpriced for what it was. My partner enjoyed a beer and meatloaf meal. Great overall experience!

We had a great experience at Hunter's Public House. We went for brunch. We were glad we were able to make a reservation as it's a rare opportunity in Ottawa and with a toddler it makes all the difference. The service was fast and very friendly, Connor was a fantastic host. There was live music, we really enjoyed Alex Lopez's set. His repertoire was varied with great classics, he has a beautiful voice, good guitar playing and presentation. We will definitely keep an eye on the schedule for him. Our toddler was mesmerized by him! We had the Special Benny's of the Day (with pulled pork, should be on the regular menu!), the Cluck and Chuck and the Kid's One Egger. Everything was delicious and fresh. Very well done! Bravo! Then we had dessert, cheesecake, which was good, but did not live up to the description that it was dense, as it was very creamy, but not as dense as a NY cheesecake would be, for example. The carrot cake was very surprising, very dense and with a strong spice side. The kids donut holes were tasty and crispy, our toddler liked them.

My family doesn’t go out to eat very much, and Hunter’s is by far our most frequent destination. We’ve only ever eaten on the patio (even in winter!) or gotten takeout. The patio is always gorgeous and genuinely a pleasure to sit on, even though the location of this restaurant may have you doubting (Findlay creek parking lot). Been on the patio all four seasons, and it’s always a pleasure. The service is always very friendly, and knowledgeable. The food is great! I always get something different because I have no concerns that I’ll enjoy trying something new, I don’t feel the need to stick with something safe. The portions are huge, we always have leftovers. The beer menu is great too. I recommend Hunter’s to literally everyone I talk to when discussing restaurants in Ottawa

Great spot! Live entertainment! Portion are more than enough and taste great. Service was excellent! Had to come back, this time for brunch and glad we did! Everything was fresh and tasty. Portions are more than enough and the service was excellent as well. Live music in the early afternoon was nice!

This was my first time there and it certainly did not disappoint! We ordered the meatloaf, fish & chips and the buttermilk chicken sammy. All three were outstanding and their Hunter's Pilsner and Hunter's Red Ale on tap were quiet smooth and tasty. The service was also very friendly and attentive.

We had a fabulous time here today. The waiter was friendly, attentive and pleasant. He had to deal with 6 ladies catching up on life. I had the New-Hattan Seafood Chowder baby clams / haddock / salmon / shrimp / cream / tomato / potato / celery / red pepper / crispy breaded haddock / roasted garlic & cheddar scone and it was delicious, hot but not scalding, and a fair sized portion. I also had the East Meets East fried pork and shrimp wontons / Halifax donair sauce. I wasn't a fan of the sweet sauce and in hindsight could have asked for a savory sauce, but the wontons were tasty on their own. For dessert I had their inhouse cheesecake which was fluffy and light and I had it drizzled with caramel sauce. Overall a great lunch and I will happily return for dinner in the future.

I was in the area for an appointment and decided to have lunch here. I had an excellent service from the hostess to the waitress. I had the salmon burger with soup of the day, and their own version of a Moscow Mule. The cocktail was one of the best I’ve tasted. as for the burger, it tasted really fresh, and the service was very fast as well. Sidenote, I really like the sanitizer bottles on their tables.

Came for lunch today. Everything was outstanding I'll be surprised if we aren't back before the weekend is out. So many amazing choices want to try them all. Our waitress was very friendly and she helped us make our choices and we were glad she did!!

This restaurant is amazing. We've visited more than once and enjoyed their patios in both summer and fall. The staff is friendly, providing excellent service. They offer a wide selection of food and drinks, and what stands out the most is the warm smile we always receive from the server. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

Went for the first time and Love this place. They think about details and seem to have an amazing menu! It’s clean, staff are amazing, layout and seating are great. Seafood chowder was outstanding. Big Crunch burger was good and fries were delicious. Beef Dip was a bit too greasy for my liking and I missed the beef flavour in the sammy as well as the dip. Otherwise, I would recommend and plan to return to try out something else off their intriguing menu!!!

I would absolutely recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and lively, the service was friendly and impeccable! The food presentation was lovely and it was very tasty (especially the wings! The only reason for the four stars and not five is I found it to be a bit on the pricey side and there's no "specials night", but otherwise, everything was spot on here.

Great place to dine in! Our waitress Amanda K was very pleasant. Best place to get some fish and chips. Their Chuck Burger was phenomenal. Wasn't too fond of the Spinach and Artichoke dip, but it is worth a try. There Electric Lemonade was prefect! Definitely will be recommending to friends and family! 5 star

Great beer selection. My server suggested the appropriate flight based on my beer preferences.. My Fish and chips was a 3. The fish itself was great but the fries and tartar sauce were both way too salty. One other guest made the same comment about the fries.

The greeter and all staff were very friendly. Food was on point. Will be back for sure to order this new favourite. Due to the hard times we are going through the meal was served in a to-go container which is a plus. If you can't finish it, just pack it up yourself and go. ST-ALBERT CURDS ON SMASHED smashed baby potatoes / St-Albert cheese curds / Hunter's Pilsner gravy

my mom, dog, and i came here for brunch on the patio and had a wonderful time. our server Ali was amazing, a really attentive and friendly guy :) the food itself was great, affordable, and had generous portions as well. the atmosphere on the patio is cozy and inviting—even our dog who is a bit of a scaredy cat was very relaxed and loved it there! the person who brought us to our table also offered to bring him a bowl of water. overall just a lovely experience and we will definitely keep coming back!

For the one searching for a short review: Great place, very good food and absolutely amazing service. Price was absolutely okay for what you get. Now getting to the longer part (and please excuse my bad English as I’m German): Not often did I sat down at our table and formulated a review in my head before I even received my meal. This was based on the great Personal which was so heartwarming. I do not know where they got the girls which have served us but they were lovely. I do not know when I saw people which were smiling that much no matter if there were customers near them or not (based on the receipt the one which was responsible for us was Gebrielle or something like that). Together with the general atmosphere of this place they created an wonderful feeling for me and my family. The meal after that was great too and everything we saw on other tables around looked fantastic too. If I will ever come back to Canada and Ottawa in special (and if I get the opportunity I will) then I will absolutely come back to these place for some great meal and nice people.

I just sat with some coworkers and had a great lunch! So nice to see people again in an open setting where we can all feel safe. I had the buttermilk chicken Sammy and it was KILLER! The crunch of the batter, the juiciness of the chicken. The fresh ingredients! It was sincerely one of the best sandwiches I've had in a while. All portions were huge and delicious! We all appreciated the food and service. Looking forward to my next visit! Side note, this is the 3rd time in 2 years that I've eaten here and each time was bang on! Well done.

This burger is named the Big Crunch. I was expecting the beef patty to be covered in batter and then deep fried…like a crunchy chicken sandwich would be… However, that’s not the case…why are we not doing that ?! Seems like there’s a whole untapped marked for crunchy, batter covered on the outside, juicy on the inside beef burgers. Anyway, burger was delicious, well cooked, toppings inside, the coleslaw, the pickles, were fresh. The fries were crunchy and the hot sauce was a good spice level. Service was good, I didn’t ask for carbonated water because I forgot but I assume they can do it through their soda tap at no extra charge. Would try it once, it’s very similar to a crust and crate, a state and main or a Joey’s.

This place is a total gem!! The food is outstanding, very consistent every time we have visited. The beer is great and their cocktails are delicious! Service is prompt and everyone is super friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere is lovely and the music is great! Would definitely recommend Hunter's even if it's a little off the beaten path for you, well worth the drive! Fantastic place!

Its the bacon wrapped meatloaf that got me and it was really good. (Everything with bacon is good) It was roadhouse style food but done much better than your average roadhouse. Service was friendly and efficient and the place is kept clean and polished which makes the dining experience that much better. Priced fairly as well for the size of meal you get. Lots of drinks to choose from as well. Its a good go to place for a nice relaxed casual meal.

This place has an good beer menu unfortunately food is hit or missed. We went there with kids a couple of times during our stay at Findlay Creek. The service however is absolutely outstanding! once, The weather was uncertain and while we first started on the patio we were able to switch inside without issue when it started sprinkling. And the waitress even advised us to do it sooner rather than later as to not be stuck if it really started to rain. Our food was great. However the kids pastas looked dry, like they had been under the pass for a while. We assumed the sauce was at the bottom which revealed true for the butter pasta but not the marinara ones. We didn’t return it, our daughter had some of the appetizers, she is rather picky and we are trying to teach her to be a little less picky… And Frankly I am always shy to return food… but the waitress saw that our daughter had barely touched her food and gave us a 50% discount on her plate. I thought it was a nice gesture. We went back and got chicken wings has appetizers which looked like they had been forgotten in the fryer because they were so very dry. We would go back for a drink but not for a meal.

Honestly super impressed with this place. wide enough menu that there's always something for everyone to like, service is nice, and the food is actually pretty good and reasonably priced. Great for the area and very underrated! I would definitely return

Ordered the Seafood chowder! It was really delicious! Lots of seafood in it, plus a crispy haddock stick to decorate the soup! The cheese scone was a tasty addition. Our server was cheerful and attentive. Nice decor and the tables were appropriately placed for social distancing. Would return in a heartbeat. Well done!

Nice and warm ambiance with large patio. The food is above average, beef tartare is good (no strange smell or taste, a little bit tangy in a pleasant way), the chicken burger was burnt the first time but they make it up for me with another one (however there is nothing impressive with this dish). Staff is helpful and attentive. Might be a little bit pricey.

We are lucky enough to live close to this amazing restaurant! I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and I cannot say anything negative!!! Nothing!!! Everything is awesome The decor is beautiful and the attention to detail for the appearance of the place as well as all of their food is obvious. Their outdoor patio makes you feel like you are in another place. The owner is doing something right. Head chef is super talented. Servers are all young and friendly Way to go Hunters!!!!!
