I love shopping at this store. I drop by every time I am in Ottawa. I used to live just around the corner from the store but I now live about an hour away. The staff are super-friendly and knowledgeable. This is definitely my favourite pet store because not only do they have an awesome collection of foods, treats, toys, and clothing/accessories for my little fur baby, but I always like to support small, independent, local businesses. It is well-worth the hour-long drive for me to go there for my supplies. You will want to visit to get the Health Pets HQ experience over and over again.

Love this store! All the staff is super friendly and helpful, they always help me find exactly what I need. Even during COVID, I feel really safe shopping here because they follow strict guidelines to keep their customers healthy. They also carry lots of specialty products for pets that I have trouble finding elsewhere. Highly recommended!

Healthy Pets HQ has been an absolute blessing for me. They're the only store I have found that carries the specific food my cat and eat, they have an amazing selection of rabbit toys, and everything is amazingly affordable for me, which is amazing since I am low income. Everything they sell is great quality, and the staff are amazingly helpful and very, very kind hearted! My rabbits have never been happier than when I brought them home a bunch of new toys from this store. My cat also has been happy to have a brand of food she isn't allergic to! I was really looking forward to visiting this store after reading all the positive reviews. I am newer to the area and looking for a new place to purchase items for my dog. Unfortunately, it does not look like this will be it after my experience today. There was no hello, may I help you, is there anything I can help you find and rather I was completely ignored. When I did approach the employee for a question she looked at me like I had completely just interrupted her ( which I had because she was clearly on a social visit and making plans for dinner). When they did not have the first item I inquired about, there was no offer of an alternative or perhaps anything else I might need, which was really too bad for them as I had intended on purchasing food and treats for my dog. Perhaps they do not need my business. I do try to support small business however I expect and appreciate sales and service otherwise I would order online.

This is the only place where I can find the highest reviewed brands, unless I want to drive all the way to Kanata...no one wants that. Best pet food store in the region. I say that with full honesty and the research to back it up. Seriously...I spent a good 2h determining which stores have which products and this is the ONLY store that had it all. 100% recommend :)

!Everything is alright, but you gotta check your employees for anger issues! I was getting stuff for my cat yesterday and also asked for some advice/consultation. When happened misunderstanding in our conversation, I apologized and mentioned that my English is not well and I didn't understand this termin she said, and what I THINK IS BETTER FOR MY CAT. (which is the male cat for her ,instead of get vet. doctor and fixed her,without being able to have a kitty cats) less than a second she yelled at me' WE DON'T DO THIS HERE ' or something like that. Turn to a red skin and couldn't make eye contact with me anymore. I didn't get back a word afte me saying 'bye, have a good day!' There was a girl who witnessed all of this and looked quite shocked (she was her friend or something) However, be fugging nice with your customers ,eater you're stuff or management ... I whipped my tears on my face before I entered that store because ppl don't need my problems. And what I got eh

I have been shopping here for a while and have always been happy with the quality of service and options for choices in options for not just foods/treats but fun and safe toys for my furry friends. I have consistently received wonderful customer service and the staff is often able to assist me with my questions, when they are not too busy with the other plethora of customers that also find them to be quite helpful. I will certainly continue to come and visit this store.

I can't say enough positive things about the Healthy Pets HQ team. The team (especially Sue!) has always been incredibly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. This has been my pet store since i moved to Ottawa, at first it was convenient cause i lived close by, and now i just head their on a monthly basis to get my two cats what they need. The variety is wide, you can exchange any dry food or treats or vitamins that the cats refuse to have even if it is open, but not an open can obviously. The staff are very friendly and very helpful, and on certain brands i find samples, or get a free bag when i reach a certain number of purchases. The price is average same as you would pay in pet smart, but the variety is very healthy.

I called with some questions about products to relieve anxiety in a pet that won't stop licking his fur off. The woman working was so helpful and lovely, she advised me on several products, discussed the pros and cons of each and even care options outside the store. I got better advice from this sales rep than I have from a vet in YEARS! Thank you so much, you exceeded my expectations and the little one is now resting peacefully.

I've recently adopted a cat and was really hoping to find a good local shop with natural food options. I rang them up and Sam was SUPER helpful. I had called like 3 other stores before this shop and felt disappointed with the services. Sam really turned it around for me. I went in the next day and Sue helped me out. OmG just as helpful! I left with everything I needed! Ladies, you have both made this such a pleasant experience and honestly less stressful as I didn't know what I needed to get beyond good quality supplies and natural ingredients! My favorite pet store in Centretown. Clean with super friendly staff. The local delivery was a life saver yesterday when my dog started having a reaction to her food. I couldn't get away from work and they delivered to me within hours. Highly recommend!

The best customer service I have EVER received! The staff are super friendly and will go out of their way to help. The first time I went in, one of the employees helped me for a half an hour to look through every can of cat food to find something appropriate for my high-maintenance cat. Then the next time I went in, I forgot my wallet and was completely out of cat food. The staff offered to put the purchase on my account so I could take it home and pay the next time I stopped in, it was such a huge help! Then the food my cat likes was on back-order, so they called me after each shipment to let me know whether the food was delivered or not. I could not recommend a place more, I will be going to Healthy Pets HQ for all my pets needs. Please go support this amazing local business!

Healthy Pets HQ has been my favourite spot for all my pet needs since 2019! Even though it's a little out of the way for us, we try to stop here whenever we can.. They have an awesome selection, great prices and some of the friendliest staff we've ever met-- they even gave my dog this adorable cookie for his 1st Birthday! Healthy Pets has long been the local stop for all of my cats needs. Workers are so helpful, answer any questions, and are all so incredibly nice. I always find what i need, and if I can’t they can usually order it in for me anyway. Their curbside option has been so helpful, and easy to use during this difficult time. We just adopted Mystique through Furry Tales, and so it was natural that we chose Healthy Pets to help us stock up on what we need to spoil her. We love supporting them always, and its an added bonus that they support Furry Tales Cat Rescue. I will always choose Healthy Pets!

They carry Orijen and Acana (Champion Pet Food), and the odour-neutralizing ammonia-blocking cat litter I like, whereas the other pet stores I found do not. Great selection of products, nice staff.

Amazing store! The staff is so wonderful and nice along with great purchasing program. They also help local charities. Gladly pay slightly more for local, quality, friendly, and pet centered service. With the program as well it isnt even more expensive. Support this store!

I was a regular customer here but have now switched to two other great stores where they respect all their customers, Pet Circus and Little Critters. They were adhering to the bylaw for a while but recently decided to discriminate against people with medical conditions and are violating human rights and breaking the law. I tried to kindly email them to confirm their new "rule" and they did not respond back. The bylaw (which is still posted on their window) clearly states medical exemptions. You either adhere to the whole bylaw or else you are in violation, stores can't pick and choose. My dog loved this store and I really enjoyed bringing donations here but am happy to spend my money and contribute where they respect everyone and treat all people equally. Curbside pick up is absolutely a great option for people who are concerned and cautious but some people like to browse and bring their animals in which they absolutely have the right to do. Hopefully they consider responding to customers inquiries and reassess the situation, especially after speaking with the human rights tribunal.

Overpriced. Especially with the changes to covid they didn’t inform me of the price of the item I was paying for before taking my card inside and charging me. Gave questionable front door service asking me if I had “cash”... they charged my card without verifying the price to me and I paid $50 for a simple item. Ive been warned by other dog owners not to come here because of the service and pricing, I didn’t listen. That will be the last time I go to healthy pets and I will not be recommending it to my network. Terrible experience and marked up prices. No thank you
