Ottawa's one of the best Mid-Easter, South Asian and African supermarket. Silk Road Foods has thousands of quality food items from across the world as well as fresh fruits and vegetables/ dairy at very competitive prices in the area. (Most importantly everything is Halal)

Came for special ingredients and was so impressed by the wide selection!! Imported, cured, dried, whatever spices and flavour you need, Silk Road Foods should be your best bet!! The hallways are clean and wide, the whole store felt very spacious and well suited for social distancing.

The only place I go to for my fresh halal meat. These people understand how to cut meat properly. It’s always fresh, tasty. Lots of spices. Amazing bread. These people care. They price their produce well, so people can actually afford it. Great management, great staff. Always smiling and welcoming. This is something Canadian stores should use as an example.

I come here specifically for spices because they have a MASSIVE variety, all at super affordable prices. They also have spices in bulk, and you have the option of the pre ground spice or whole. This place is more affordable than most mainstream grocery stores nowadays, and I love them for that ❤️

Excellent Supermarket for All Your Grocery Needs! This local supermarket exceeded all my expectations. Nice spacious and well organized market with a variety of the usual and also interesting products I haven't seen elsewhere. Happy with the selection and quality of the produce, and reasonable prices. The employees are wonderful specialy the Iraqi employee who is good at her job, she helps us with a smile when we need to find purchases, she also speaks Arabic, which makes the shopping easier for us. Thanks for taking the time. 🙏 I highly recommend this supermarket for a remarkable and convenient shopping experience.

Walked in to see what this store was about, was not disappointed at all! I was able to find things that you cannot find at big chain grocery stores. Plus the handmade treats were amazing. I've been looking for "bird nests" for years and here they are. Will be going back again for our cooking needs Must check out

Good spot. U can find almost everything regarding middle eastern stores. Only downfall is that certain items are over priced because other stores like Damas would sell same items for cheaper. 5 stars if the price could be adjusted.

I went inside Silk Road Foods grocery store to get some Amma's biryani take out food. However, while I was waiting for my food to be prepared I looked around the grocery store. I was impressed by the diversity of products and spicies on the shelves. It felt like I was in a good quality grocery store in the middle east. Lots of Arabic brand produce, Halal and Persian foods. Even fleshly prepared trays full of tempting sweets. I ended up getting not only biryani, but also my weekly supply of groceries too. If you like to have the flavors of the middle east then Silk Road Foods is an excellent place to go while in Ottawa. They keep South Asian and Middle Eastern groceries. Also nice place if you want to pick up fresh and halal meat. They also have Amma's Biryani inside the building if you are looking for good food. Silk road also includes a sweet mart where they sell fresh Middle Eastern sweets. Really nice place to buy variety of things.

Everything here is high quality with very friendly staff and customer service except for the bakery, the large bread they make is different every day and sometimes very bad quality, over baked and even burnt.

Has a great variety of south East Asian products. You can even find a dessert shop inside with baklava and other sweets. A go to stop

The girl at the cashier just keep flirting with my husband everytime he goes, and ask personals questions which is really weird. She should mind her own business instead of ruining the reputation of the shop.

One of the best place to get fresh goat meat in here. They do have good collection of Indian and Pakistani groceries items and veggies. Prices are reasonable here compared to other Indian groceries stores.

Customer Service could stand to be improved as well as the packaging of their in house frozen items like Samosas. The wrapping of their "40 pack" of frozen Samosas is always half destroyed as it's just tossed in the box. Lately they are changing up the boxes as well and have the 40-pack box with actually only 30 samosas in them (with the labeling of 30), but scans as 40, so you're essentially paying $10 bucks more if you accidentally grab the wrong box. Last time a rep "went to check in the back" if they have the proper 40 pack box, and disappeared for a whole 15 minutes... someone else had to go at the back and check on him, and at that point guy just cames out and says "Yeah we don't have it"

Way overpriced, specifically spices. Went to buy pickled stuffed eggplants, Makdoos, all jars were leaking, stained with oil. I would keep an eye on my stock, keep it fresh and in a presentable state, if I were the owner.

The place is very good for Asian groceries especially the spices and Masala products. The have plenty of products like cookies, rusk, chocolates, spices,nuts, rice, oil, fruits. One shop for all groceries. Their frozen food section has lot of frozen foods. Their meat section is very good with low price. Really good place. The staffs are behaving very good and helping to find the products. The price is much better than other grocery stores. They have huge selections for cooking pots and pans.

Awful experience for copy car key. I was waiting for more that 2 hours then, they told me you can go home and we will call you when it's ready, I left my car there 4 hours.I canceled my plan for that day and I spent 50$ for uber. I don't recommend this place.

One of the very few places in Ottawa where you can find a good variety of South Asian and Arabian spices and Halal food. A bit pricier but it should not be compared with Walmart or other giant grocery stores. Should be supported to keep these kind of stores afloat.

I didn't like the taste of their coffee, I just wanted to check how they accept their customers' feedback and how good customer service they have, my review is 1/5 because there is no zero. To be honest the only person care and try to do some thing positive and at least she got my number to call me later!!! was the cashier, later they didn't call me and when I went to ask them again they said I am the guilty one because their coffee is so good, in the end of the day, I didn't get my money back (I don't care), they didn't offer me to get my coffee back(I don't care, I will not use it anyway) and I didn't get apologize or a good way to discuss at least (I care as a customer)

Went there to get Afghani bread, told it will be ready in 2 hours. Went back home and drove 20 minutes again to go back and get it. The same guy again said will be ready in 2 hours!!!

The store is great you can find everything ther I recommend so mucn and the customer service is a great I love it. There is Hijabi woman there she's so good and she helped me so much and she always when I ask her for help she took me to the place not just like telling me where is it and she trying to .help. She doesn't speak English very well but she trying to help all the people I saw her couple times and I came to store couple times and she help me. Great customer service. Keep it like that.!!

Some of their stuff is expired, like noodles, frozen parathas etc. Make sure you check the dates before you purchase. These people they don’t even feel apologetic for selling expired products and told me that it’s a manufactured date and not the expiry/best before date, please be aware.
