we had an excellent experience. everything was delicious. service was outstanding. our server took excellent care of us. we tried several dishes, and they are: Chilli Garlic Shrimp, Ahi Tuna Tataki, Mexi Street Corn Ribs, French Onion Soup, Community Bread, Crab Linguini, Chicken Avocado Bowl, Large Prime Rib, Chop Burger platter, Flap Iron steak, Furious Fries, Steamed Mussels, creme brulé, Chocolate Torte Cake, Pineapple Upside Down cake...Loved the beautiful decor, clean, high ceilings. Really enjoyed my experience here. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. My server was helpful and explained the menu in detail when he found out it was our first time dining here. Will definitely be back in the near future! + Came back and the food and service were still phenomenal! I definitely recommend their prime rib. Great service (5 stars) and food (4 stars). Little overpriced (3 stars) but your paying for the atmosphere(4 stars). Very similar to the KEG Steakhouse but more menu selection. Personally I felt the KEG was more romantic for date night. Portions are normal sized, nothing to brag about. I was disappointed that you had to pay extra for the little things! When you go to a higher class restaurant you should have basic standards. Your bill will be easily over $100 with one drink each. Funny you find the need to charge an extra $2 for a piece of bread or upgrade from normal fries to spicy fries! .

Went to Chop last week to celebrate a special occasion and was very pleased with the experience. Our knowledgeable and friendly server Talina was able to make great suggestions and was very timely with service. The food was heavenly - we had prime rib and mushroom soup that was hands down delicious, cesser salad, perfectly cooked rib eye steak with dreamy mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables followed by their creamy crème brûlée. The meal was well paced and we felt relaxed while enjoying the atmosphere. We were well spaced away from other guests without it feeling like it was COVID imposed as the interior is thoughtfully designed. We cannot wait to go back.

My husband and I went 730p on Friday night, we were seated quickly upon arrival. Siena was our server and she was amazing , attentive without hovering and was very knowledgeable about the menu. Our food was delicious and the steaks were cooked exactly the way we wanted. We were too stuffed for dessert but because it was our birthday dinner, we got a card signed by staff, with a voucher for our next visit. Such a gem in fine cuisine. The decor is modern, chic, creative, and elegant. The food is impressively sophisticated and flavourful (steak & seafood 💯). Ask for the in-house lemonade! I got it without the soda per personal preference and it was 💯 Service was superb with extra care to welcome you, personalize your experience, and accommodate allergies & dietary restrictions - Taliana was wonderful! Overall an exquisite experience!

I ordered takeout for Valentine’s Day today for 6:30pm. By 7:00pm I contacted the Uber driver to see why it’s taking so long and he said he’s been waiting outside of the restaurant waiting, same with the other delivery guys. So I called the restaurant, and after numerous tries they said that they’re busy and cannot give me a time when the food will ready. So I decided to wait some more thinking it shouldn’t take that much longer. By 8:30pm I called again to see where my food was, they persuaded me to wait a little longer. By 9:00 I was hangry and just gave up and cancelled my order. If they could have provided me an ETA at least I could have ordered food elsewhere and be able to better plan my Valentine’s Day meal. If you cannot fulfill orders then please do not accept these orders so people do not have to wait hours for their dinner. Or atleast give people a heads up that they have to wait a long time for their meal.

Valentine's dinner would be our first time eating at Chop's. We arrived to pick up our meal at the time given to us and then told to wait another 30 to 45 minutes. Food was all cold and not cooked to our request. Returned it and never going back.

food here is usually amazing . But tonight OMG . arrived an hour late with 1 salad and 1 desert missing , food was cold and very dry . The 1 salad i did receive was just thrown in a box . tried calling restaurant and no one answers . I've recommended this restaurant to so many people with how bad tonight was i don't think i would do that again . I wouldn't have paid even half of what i did for that it was disgusting mess

Amazing food at a decent price. Drinks and service was wonderful (forgot the servers name but she did a great job). Manager came out and checked up on our table too. I would highly recommend this restaurant

I would like to say that I hate giving anyone a bad review during these times, especially a place we frequently went to before the pandemic...but you cannot charge the same price that you did when we came into the restaurant and serve worse/lesser quality food. I must say the steak was amazing, perfectly cooked and tasted great as always. But the potatoes were the dehydrated powder potatoes, tasted pretty bad. And the fries were very generic ok fries (they were sooo good before). The photo when ordering online showed those onion strings (I was craving them so hard lol!!) They did not make it on the order, probably the biggest let down. Presentation...see in photo. This was a disappointment for sure, not what you would expect for a $50 meal. We will try one more time when things get back to normal. Good luck Chop. Edit: Just got off the phone with Trenton from Chop. I won't go into details but I do want point the absolutely outstanding customer service I've received since the review went up. The staff has always been professional and friendly but the willingness to communicate and improve since this review has been... genuinely incredible. Despite the initial disappointment detailed above my husband and I will wholeheartedly recommend Chop to any food lovers we know because their dedication to quality and customer care is now more clear than ever. Ive been waiting 1 hour for curbside pick-up. No call, no sign of food and also they are not answering the phone anymore. Mess of people at the front waiting outside. Ots absolute chaos here.

We placed an order online. We got a notification 10 minutes after it was supposed to be delivered that our order wasn’t ready. Then, 20 minutes later we got a text message saying that our order was cancelled and that the store was closing. We tried calling and no one picked up. The lack of professionalism is astounding. Terrible customer experience.

Our first experience in the restaurant was amazing! Went here to celebrate our anniversary and it’s been the best decision. Scott our server at time went above and beyond from giving us the dinner menu when we asked. Food and service are insanely good however, the highlight of our visit was when Scott gave us the complimentary champagne, dessert and even a card to congratulate us. The gesture was simple but very sweet and thoughtful, looking forward to be dinning here more often.

Happy hour was amazing. We ordered multiple items and everything was very tasty and well presented. Michelle H was our server and she was very polite and told us all about the specials and let me taste a beer I was curious about. The service was fast and food was amazing. Steak bites and goat cheese dip are highly recommended. We will be back for sure.

Fine dining. Would be great for date night or special occasion. In fact that is what the server said to us first - whether this was a special occurrence. We were staying at the attached Sandman hotel do this was convenient after a long day of driving. Place is decorated beautifully. Chris - our server was very good. He made us feel welcome. We had beer for drinks. My wife got the shrimp linguine. She does not eat pork and she thought it tasted like bacon. She was too polite to complain. I couldn’t taste it. I had the prime rib, med rare with rice pilaf. The veggies were Peter T as was the meat. Our meals came amazingly fast which was a pleasant surprise.

Let me tell you, I'm a tough critic. This was my first time trying Chop Steakhouse. Got two orders of the Chop Burger with fries and a side of gravy. I was blown away the moment I opened the bag and saw napkin wrapped cutlery, a thank you note, the burgers in a nice container(top separate from the bottom) AND the fries.... never have I EVER ordered take out and the restaurant purposely didn't fully close the lid to ensure they didn't get soggy. Not only were they crispy but you can tell they're fresh cut and double fried! The gravy was delicious as was everything. The burger was juicy and big, the side pickle was mmmmMMMM! So good! I highly recommend trying this place. The amount of respect I felt after I saw what they sent me, never has a restaurant been so kind and thought ahead for their customers.

Overall, my experience was quite good here. I didn't have high expectations for the food, but it actually impressed me. I had a burger and sweet potato fries. The service was great. The patio could have been set up better with more working heaters. I like that they have blankets to offer though!

Very disappointing experience. Called ahead to check hours and were notified of "last call" at 8:45 and restaurant closed at10pm. Hostess politely explained last call when we arrived at 8:25, as did second hostess who took us to table. We were fine with the restrictions. Things went downhill from there. Our server seemed mad we arrived so close to last call and was pretty rude throughout our visit. Constantly reminded us of the hours and that we should have come earlier. Definitely did not feel welcome. Food was not great. Had run out of baked potato, so substituted rice which was cold ( room temp). Server did offer additional vegetables which was appreciated, but beans were burned. 2 of 3 steaks were not cooked to correct doneness. Best main we ordered was the chicken! Expected much better for price and thought staff would be happy to have customers, but once we were seated it felt our presence was a real inconvenience.

Am amazing experience at Chop! Took my boyfriend here for his birthday and everything we ordered was SO good. Drinks were on point, we ordered escargots for apps and our entrees were incredible. Service and staff are both excellent. We’re still drooling over it and recommend it to all our friends. I honestly would pick over the Keg.

Wow what a nice surprise. I must say my expectations were much lower considering this place is a hotel restaurant and not downtown. Upon entering you notice just how stunning the place is. Huge doors, creative accent pieces and design. You’ll also notice the warm and inviting ambiance. We were seated on the bar side where there are lots of screens, you can peep the kitchen and the centered oval bar. The service was great and you could see the manager was very involved in serving guests also. We ordered two cocktails both great and Interesting. The escargot and crab cakes both out of this world. For mains we ordered the ribs and the pistachio crusted cod. Just amazing we felt the food and drink were conversation starters and noted that we would for sure return for a nice family gathering or sporting game night. Despite the upscale food you don’t have to dress so fancy which is nice. I appreciate that. Oh and the bathroom is stunning. We’ll be back!

Our dine in experience last night was great! Our server which I totally forgot her name (I’m sorry) was very nice and professional. The dinning area was also nice and cozy 😊 We ordered crab cake, ceasar salad, bone in steak and rib eye. One thing I would say, my fiancé and I left the restaurant with a very heavy stomach and satisfied taste buds. The steak was cooked perfectly the way we wanted it, seasoned very well, the meat was so tender and juicy. The side vegetables was also well seasoned. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you want to consume a good steak. Lots of parking space available and very convenient.

Waited about an hour for take out that was ordered several hours before pickup time. Steaks were the wrong type, cooked less than rare (ordered med rare). Desserts were forgot, no peppercorn sauce, got potatoes not loaded potatoes. I would go back once sit down service is back but I can't reccomend take out. Update: As much as a disaster as this was the management went above and beyond to make it right. Updating to 4 stars because it really is good place to eat. This was just a very bad night for them.

I have been coming to Chop since it's opening a little over a year ago. I frequent many restaurants, and must say that Chop delivers and deserves "6 Stars"! Trenton is the "GM" and he has assembled a great team, and more importantly, they follow the Covid guidelines perfectly in this establishment. These are tough times for businesses, and there has never been a better time for reviews than now. I have had the pleasure of being served at the bar by Zoe, Nick "Tokyo", great drinks and service - Christine and Emily at the Tables. Such amazing, attentive and friendly people. A special mention to Christine for a nice birthday dessert and decoration for a friend. A must try for sure - thanks Chop and team!

Tried the 3 course meal here. I thought the wedge salad was gross. Bacon was burnt and drenched in dressing. Prime rib was cold. Dessert was tiny. Wouldn’t order this again. Not sure I would ever eat here again.

I went to pick up an Uber eats order and firstly for 10 mins no one responded and then finally one lady came and wrote order number and for one $7-8 order I had to wait at least 45 mins. It means delivery drivers like me are wasting time in which we make money. I am utterly disappointed by the service provided by this good restaurant. I recommend manager to increase the staff so neither customer or working staff has to run back and forth. Thank you

Stupendous. One of the best steaks I've ever had. I got the 32oz Bone-In Ribeye with sautéed onions on top, rice pilaf, green beans and butternut squash. Service was phenomenal. We had Cameron. Professional, made us feel very welcome and he knew the menu inside and out. Everything was perfect except for the butternut squash. It was very crunchy and not very flavorful. But the steak exploded with flavor and was cooked to perfection. The green beans were good and the rice pilaf was excellent. My friend had the 13oz Smoked Ribeye with garlic and shallots and a loaded baked potato. He thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly, highly recommend. Thank you for a great experience!

Superb lunch! I appreciate the online booking tool and immediate seating upon arrival time. Our hostess, server, and kitchen runner were all friendly, efficient, and very polite. The atmosphere was lovely and noticeably clean. Our meal was simply fantastic! My Tenderloin was a perfect blue/rare, and my hubby's sirloin, a perfect medium. Our starter Parmesan Truffle Fries were served freshly hot and were wonderful. Our shared Flourless Chocolate Torte was a delicious finish to a wonderful meal. We will absolutely be back and are already looking forward to it. Thank you!

CHOP consistently has fantastic food! Menus change with the seasons typically. I have never had a bad dining experience, whether it's dinner or just drinks with appetizers. And the staff are professional and friendly. Trenton is one of the best Manager's, always helpful and willing to try to accommodate requests for parties or gatherings (pre-pandemic).

Food and service were amazing... My only suggestion would be that they have a truly loaded baked potato... Maybe a double baked!!!

Came here last Friday late. Didn’t expect to have a full menu available as the time was late. 1 hour until closing. As you can see from the photos that was not the case and the menu was fully available including the prime rib. Super friendly server and host staff that I encountered. Restaurant is well laid out and plenty of space in the lounge and also dining area which is separate. Anyone who has had the steak bites at chop knows they can be great or just okay at different locations. This location I feel, were some of the best that I have had at chop across Canada. Everything cooked great and good atmosphere. Great space for any meal out. I have eaten here now three times and this was great experience. Highly recommended if you like prime rib. There is also a happy hour menu which is reasonable as well and serves half portions. The photo below is of the happy hour steak bites. 5 stars easily given.

Just discovered this place! Hubby and I were looking for a decent lunch restaurant on a Sunday. (It seems all the desirable places only opened up at 4pm on Sunday, which was annoying). We found this place by chance. Delicious food, great atmosphere, attentive and friendly server (Carl) and impressive menu. We enjoyed our meal and will be back! Highly recommend!

It's our first time trying this amazing restaurant, first thing we notice it was clean big and the atmosphere is great!! Then we order our appetizer (Onion Ring) well recommend it! The bread is so fresh and so good!! Then the steak for our main course. they're steak is Phenomenal 👌👌👌 my husband order filet mignon love it!!! I order steak and seafood both of us is medium rare and it was a blast!!plus the crème brûlée is the best don't miss it for dessert! Our waiter is Chris and he is great! Very attentive of what we need. Overall experience is epic!!! It's our first time but for sure not the last. We'll recommend in did!!!!!! 👍

As always, Chop experience is fantastic. The food was unbelievable and those mashed potatoes are unbeatable. Tried the steak bites and will definitely get those again! Our server Michelle was also so sweet and gave us fantastic service!

Went here on a whim without knowing much about it except it was supposed to have excellent steak. So glad we did! Everything was exceptional and our server was great. I had the prime rib that was melt in your mouth delicious. Regular portion, not sure I could finish the large. The house red is very good and pairs well with meat. For dessert, the trio of mini creme brulé, torte, and cheese cake, was perfect. Definitely going back!

If you're going to Chop for Steak - Don't. We ordered 2 steaks and seafood and these were by far the most revolting steaks we've ever seen/tasted. They were poorly cooked and heavily salted - an incredible amount of salt/seasoning which made the entire meal very low quality. Everything on the plate, heavily salted. Meat, veggies, sides, salt, salt, salt. The steaks had a thick coat of gristle and burn, just nasty. The server provided us with dirty glasses of water, something green (Cucumber peel?) was baked into one and the water was not refilled in the one glass we could share out of. (Server didn't seem to notice we were sharing a glass of water!) Seafood was rubbery...again with the salt, Jesus, the salt. Cut a piece of the 'medium' steak, photo attached. You be the judge. The manager gave us 1 steak off the bill free, kind gesture, but the purpose of the visit, for great steak and seafood wasn't fulfilled. Very disappointing, maybe the 'chef' was absent? There are far better options within 3 KM of this place, just go there, don't have the experience we did.

An excellent culinary experience! The food was excellent, we had breakfast, and the service exceptional. Great atmosphere (except being able to hear music from the kitchen). Next time, we will ask for a table farther away from the kitchen. Lots of parking. Highly recommend

My parents came here for their 39th wedding anniversary and absolutely loved it!! The manager Shawn was beyond amazing in helping me surprise them with dessert and cocktails - truly appreciate him! Parents each had steak, one with scallops & shrimp and they said it melts in your mouth. We’ll all definitely be back and recommend this to all :) great experience! Thanks again Shawn!!

It was OK. It was a little while ago that I attended this restaurant. I tried the Mississauga-Meadowvale location in the summer and it was great. I had a great time, the price was what you expected it to be since it was a steakhouse, the food was exceptional. However, the Ottawa location left a lot to be desired when reflecting back on my experience at the one in Mississauga. The staff were kind and accommodating. The restaurant was clean and great looking. The food however was a big let down. The steak was over cooked and by the time it was remade I was already fed up waiting. It shouldn't take 30 minutes to cook a steak. I don't know if I'll ever return to the Ottawa location but overall the experience was mediocre.

I’ve visited Chop a few times prior to the pandemic. The in dining experience is great and very upscale. I ordered some wings via takeout a few nights ago and was a bit disappointed with the portion sizes and flavour. This place had killer wings and steak bites on top of the other menu staples/favourites. The pandemic has altered some of these non traditional takeout restaurants quality. Nonetheless I am just happy to support the industry during this difficult time.

This was our first time trying Chop and the food was really good. The measures they have in place during the pandemic are also very detailed. There was plexi glass between every table and hand sanitizer on all tables. But what truly distinguishes Chop from other steakhouses is their service. The Manager, Trenton, is extremely friendly and makes the effort to visit each table to make sure everything is 100%

Focus on the steak, and it's heaven. Stars off for a server who apologized twice for taking so long, and once for forgetting what I asked, even though it wasn't very busy. I've been waiting for my water for at least 10 minutes now...with barely any customer around. Came back and still no water. Update: Ok, the server apologized for some reopening (covid) confusion and took $10 off, despite me not saying anything. That was nice. Funny how the owner contacted me and said he'd send a gift card but I never received anything. In any case, they officially lost a customer.

Enjoyed our lunch. I had the prime rib, spouse had NY strip (which was amazing) Several days later we got the call from OPH that we were likely exposed to Covid while there.

Started out pleasant enough. We were greeted by the hostess and seated right away. Downhill from there. Our server didn't show up for a good 20 min. when he finally showed up took our drink order, again a long wait to receive our drinks. After a short wait returned to take our orders for our meal. Again a long wait to receive our meals. Finally when meals arrived, they arrived at room temperature. My wifes half rack of ribs was room temp. at best. My bone in steak never arrived. He showed up with wrong steak, and again at room temp ( almost cold ). Also the sides i ordered never showed up. I let it go and we proceeded with meal. When our server decided to pop by to check on us i pointed out the mistakes that were made with our order. He quickly told us he would adjust the final bill. Asked for the final bill, and again, took forever to get it. Bill was not adjusted as expected. Again had to point this out to our server. He took off again to adjust the bill. Overall we felt we were basically forgotten. Watched other guests arrive after us, get served before us and leave before us. I have been to this location several times with clients for lunches and several times with friends for dinner. Never has the service and food been so Bad. I'll have to rethink any future visits. I cant remember the last time i received such bad service in any restaurant anywhere. I just couldn't wait to leave. Terrible restaurant to select to celebrate our anniversary. Horrible experience!

A really nice place to dine in. Went here with a couple of ladies and loved it. Everything tasted great and the atmosphere was amazing. The salmon was a little dry that was all but everything else great. Staff very friendly.

Best new Restaurant in Ottawa. Friendly staff and top notch food make return visits a must. Need to update my post to 2020! I ordered three meals for pick-up (my COVID restriction) to celebrate a 60th birthday. One Steak, one Prime Rib, an entrée Artisan Salad, 2 Crab Cake Apps and Cheesecake Dessert. It was quick, efficient, hot and delicious. The best service and food. Thanks again Chop!

A really nice place to eat. I went there for lunch with a friend on a blustery day on the patio in late October, but they have a great setup, with high windows all around and good heaters on the patio roof. The result was a reasonable airflow but still warm enough to be comfortable in our light jackets. The food was excellent. I had one of the best burgers I've ever had and a decent beer to go with it, and the young lady serving us was friendly and efficient. My only suggestion would be that they increase their selection of locally brewed craft beers.

For us was a trumatic experience, we were loking for heated and covered patio, but was all reserved, but they refuse bookint the day before. We wanted sweet margarita, they bring it salty, I wanted dry martiny, they bring a feew drops in the glas, they have some problem with bartender. Frozen temperature was brutal but service and food was good. We attend Hunt Club in Ottawa.

Great restaurant with super nice decor they didn’t cheap out. Food was amazing! Definitely a nice place, service was 10/10. Laura helped accommodate a party of 18. Steak and everything else delicious not 1 of us had a complaint even had the chef make a cake for the birthday girl. Will for sure be going back!

You know I tried to like this place honestly. They even generously gives you 20% off on pickup orders (this is during lockdowns). Imagine if airplane economical seats sold steaks. Yeah, an economical airplane steak would be it.

This is our 2nd visit to this Chop location. We are from Barrie and knew we wanted to come back here. Our dinner was absolutely fantastic! We started with the stuffed mushroom escargots. My husband had the 20 oz steak with a loaded baked potato and peppercorn sauce. My daughter had the steak and lobster and I had the new pistachio crusted cod with mashed potatoes. We can't find one bad thing to say about the food or the entire experience. Our server, Kayla was so lovely and very insightful. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Such a beautiful evening, me and my boyfriend went out on a “just because” date and I’m so glad we did. Our server Lisa was beyond wonderful, she was lovely to talk to and so sweet. Servers can really make or break an experience and she made it more then perfect. Food was amazing and really flavourful. Already planning our next date before we left the venu.
