    TL:DR- used to be good, now awful. Better off buying jewelry from Etsy. Edited: while I once gave this location a 5* review, over the years the service has declined significantly. I do not recommend. Jewelry that goes in for repair looks awful when it comes back. The customer service is awful, the staff will hang up on you if you're frustrated. They will tell you something and then not tell others or put it in your file so you end up jumping through hoops to get what was initially promised. You're better off getting jewelry from Etsy. Old review: Flawless customer service. When I had a ring sized down it developed a few issues. Because of this they ended up making me a brand new one right to my size over a year after I had bought the first. (I had more issues exchanging pants worth $50 at a different store in the mall than I did with a ring worth several hundreds). Every time we went in they were incredibly helpful. There is always one staff member who seems like they don't want to be there (this is true for any business) but I would recommend this location to anyone who wants to buy any jewellery. The manager is super helpful and most of the people working are fantastic. All future buys will be from here. A+

    We had an awesome experience shopping at this store for our wedding bands. Maryam was so knowledgeable and offered us great advice throughout the process. I highly recommend shopping here, and any other Michael Hill location because the service is always above and beyond other jewelry stores in my experience!

    We spoke with Imran & I don't know her name but a beautiful lady with blonde hair & they were both the nicest people we met all day. Very real, very honest, made our experience so pleasant. I would recommend them to anyone, they are there to help you and not make an extra pretty penny. Amazing service !!

    Very good customer service for purchase. Really bad customer experience after purchase. Would not recommend. Contacted the manager, district manager and customer service online and no help at all. Went to another jewelry store with way better service before and after purchase. Edit Since Contacted the online customer service. After reaching out to the customer service online they say it’s a special order item and it can’t be refunded. Even if it not stated on the receipt or anywhere on the document. We lost the engagement ring and wanted to return the wedding band which was never worn and Michael Hill staff (manager, district manager or Online Customer) wouldn’t want to help us in any way. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAD EVER. WILL NEVER GO BACK AND STRONGLY DISCOURAGE PEOPLE TO BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!

    I am now editing my review. As you saw, I gave a very good review when I bought my ring. However, the ring quality is worse than I expected. Six months didn't even pass, and two diamonds of my ring have fallen down. It was my engagement ring, and it looks so ugly already. The morganite stone was a very bad choice. It became so dirty and dark. I am embarrassed to show it to someone. It was my fault not to take a warranty. But what if I took it, is it possible to replace stones every time. I mean, how they fit the stones that those are falling down so easily. Nowadays, the quality of imitation ornaments is better than this diamond ring. I trusted this brand too much. I contacted them via phone and visited a branch in Toronto. They were non cooperative. I am so regretted in my decision. Many people saw my previous review, so I don't want to mislead them. I am not recommending to anyone. ********************************** I bought two rings for us almost one month ago. My boyfriend's ring was perfect in size. We just chose it within 10s. My ring had to be resized. They said they would send it within 3 weeks. Although it came a bit later, I am satisfied with the service and price. The employees were very co-operative. I recommend it here. I hope the ring will be long-lasting and in good quality as I am expecting.

    Horrible service. They will sell you jewelry and tell you, you have 30 days to exchange it and they won't exchange it. Don't buy jewelry from here

    My husband and I are always super impressed with Chrissy and her service. She is very personable, enthusiastic and endearing. She is solid gold. She made it an entirely lovely experience. And the jewelry is fantastic too.

    Poor customer satisfaction. I bought my wedding band here the jewelry piece was incredibly beautiful and exactly what I was looking for. However, after they sized the ring, I received the band with big lettering "Micheal Hill- product # 2672t417' (417)" On my wedding band??? really!? I was completely shocked and I felt disrespected. This is my wedding band to be kept for our next generations of family. I did not ever see this on rings at people's jewellers. My experience as an unhappy customer were poorly looked after and my feelings were invalidated. Thumbs down for the service here, even when speaking with higher management!

    My mom was looking for pearl earrings. Got them for Christmas. Was not told that earrings are the ONLY final sale items in the store. They cite due to COVID they don't do returns or exchanges on earrings. It's as if disinfectants don't exist? Their solution to the no return policy, deep discounts on the purchase of another item. What a joke.

    I had a great experience shopping Michael Hill, just prior to Christmas. Slightly peering in from the outside and feeling increasingly intimidated as I walked by, I decided, ‘no,’ and continued on my way. Luckily, I believe it was the lovely Linda (I hope I remember correctly), that noticed me and invited me in. Thanks goodness for this as I was able to find the earrings my mom wanted and they suited my budget. Mom loved the earrings, and everything worked out. Thanks so much!

    Would put -10 stars if possible. My husband went to purchase a bracelet, asked for the weight of it. The employee tried guessing the weight and upon being requested to get the accurate weight, she went to the back and came back saying 22g Upon getting home, my husband weighed the bracelet at 17g and went to the store to return it. They refused to return it, one of the employees tried pushing him out of the store and kept saying he didn't know what he was talking about and that what guaranteed he didnt take a different product and try to return it. They ripped him off and then tried accusing him of scamming them for a refund. Very poor customer service, they have no knowledge of their product, and try to insult your intelligence by talking down at the customers as if you dont know what you are purchasing. The employee went as far as to tell him he has to bring a scale himself to weigh the jewerly when purchasing.

    The best customer service whoever says the are not professional and not knowledgeable I don’t know what to say. I went to buy a gift for my friend and I didn’t know what to buy the help I got and the customer service I got it was incredibly helpful and I will recommend everyone to go to St- Laurent location. The best people are working there.

    I tried to buy a necklace in their shop and the money was withdrawn. Later I got a letter about the cancellation of my order. Having said that, they do have a necklace in stock, but something is wrong with their system. So it couldn't verify my payment's details. It's a completely unreliable shop. If you plan to buy something for your special occasion, they can cancel your order at the very last minute.

    Went in to buy a ring for a friend out of the country and for the bride to get her finger size. We were told by the sale person that they dont size people, that the girl should buy her own ring . I think that was rude. My friend took her business next door.

    I dropped by just to buy a birthday present (a gold bracelet and possibly a ring). After speaking to some of the associates (from what I have gathered from my recent visit), they lack basic knowledge of gem stones and the other items they sell. I was so put off by it I decided to walk away empty handed. Not good.

    I took a ring I won at an auction to be looked at, not appraised, to just see what it was. This 'gemologist' said it was aquamarine and diamonds. No, it was all glass. While the products may be pretty they are just a commercial store run by nothing more than pretty people. There is no knowledge here just the desired to sell. Masters jewellers in the same mall is better and has GIA certified people.

    Went in, the two sales associates were helping customers - which I completely understand. Although, I wasn’t acknowledged for the good 15 minutes I stood there, both of the older women working there seemed to not even want to make eye contact with me. Not even a quick, “I’ll be right with you.” Which is just common sense when working retail? I have about 10 years of retail experience myself and this is just kind of supposed to be the go-to if it gets busy.. The two sales associates working just really seemed like they wanted to ignore me - No idea why, maybe because I’m a younger woman and came in with my two younger sisters? Definitely felt super invisible as they looked right over me and basically rushed to serve the couple who had just arrived in the store and rudely cut in front of me. Had uninviting experience here and definitely won’t be returning.

    Bought a ring from Michael Hill and while it is beautiful and unique, we've had the same issue arise twice now with a diamond falling out. Initially, while they did replace the diamond, we were given a hard time about not coming in for official bi-annual inspections, after having the ring for almost 18 months. We got our first diamond replaced at this timeframe and yes, while we were not keeping up on our inspections, we had brought the ring in several times for a cleaning and were told at these times that they had looked at the sets of diamonds and were secure. Now, after having the ring for three years, another diamond has fallen out and due to not having the paperwork of inspections, which I imagine is our fault for not keeping up on that, they won't replace the diamond. My conclusion is that you should go elsewhere for your jewellery because to me it seems that they use the inspections and lack there of on the consumer's fault to get out of correcting issues with the jewellery. I can understand the need for an inspection, even if cleanings are done and assurances are made by staff that everything is okay, but to blame the consumer for not bringing it in every six months for "official inspections" and then refuse to fix an issue that just shouldn't be happening because of that is poor customer service and just greedy in my mind. The diamonds shouldn't fall out of the ring, twice.

    Purchased cz studs online that arrived missing a stone. I spoke with a nice lady online who informed me I could just bring them in to any store in my city and do a return. I called and spoke to a gentleman at this store, explained the situation and he said to make an appointment online because they were only doing curbside pickup (understandable). I made an appointment for my next day off and about 15 mins before my appointment I called to ask which door to meet them at and the lady on the phone had NO IDEA what I was talking about! She told me that because it was purchased online and missing a stone I would have to ship it back and I was like lady, the cost of insuring these earrings is more than the purchase price... are you kidding me? She had to call her manager who was off that day and call me back to clarify that I needed to contact customer service online and have them contact the store to ok the return. She said the man I spoke to is the assistant manager and should have informed me of this procedure. I was so annoyed! I email customer service IN AUSTRALIA and they apologized and handled everything so I just had to go in and return. This was the worst experience I've had with Michael Hill. I've purchase many pieces from them and some genuine diamonds that I was please with. This latest experience has totally turned me off from the company as a whole.

    Today my friend and I were helped by Nick. We were just casually browsing the engagement ring selection, but Nick was so kind to offer his assistance. He helped us figure out what diamond shapes best suit our fingers, measured our ring size, and gave us more information than we could have asked for. On top of that, he made great conversation. Overall, he went above and beyond and really made our window shopping experience a joy in our day.
