😠 Horrible customer service. The lady at Bayshore is extremely rude. She was on the phone for 15 minutes and couldn't care less, there were customers waiting for service. I had to wait because I was picking up a ring. After waiting, she was extremely rude. Never again will I buy anything from Michael...     Since when did jewelry sales associates become the new slimy used car sales people? The fake interest in your story/life and the way they disappear to the back to come out with a 'special' price is just such a tacky tactic. Ended up purchasing the item I was looking for for more money at another jewelry store in the mall because they didn't put pressure on me the way this place did. Cringe worthy!

    Purchased a silver chain online. Quality was not great. Tried to return at bayshore mall and I was there almost an hour and they couldn't do the return. I contacted Michael Hill online and was told to pay to ship it back or go back to the store to try and return again. Will not purchase from them again. Would recommend people jewellers or charms.

    The women who work here are rude, aggressive and on a power trip. I went in to look at wedding bands, and had arguably the worst experience ever. I was told I couldn’t look at more than one ring at a time and that was their policy. I wanted to compare different styles of rings so I asked the associate to leave one ring out, so I can look at it against another. She refused, was incredibly rude and insisted that was their policy. I have been to Tiffany’s, Birks and Howard’s and all of these fine jewelry stores let me look at more than 1 ring at a time. The associate who helped me was rude, disinterested and didn’t even believe I was going to buy a ring. I walked out and told her that Birks allowed me to see more than one ring and she said that’s Birks and this is Michael Hill. I think she failed to realize that Michael Hill is a much lower caliber jeweler. This woman then chased and followed me out of the store, was aggressive towards me and yelled at me. I’ve never seen such a ridiculous display in my life. This store really needs new sales people. The women that work there are delusional and need a good training on customer service and how to behave in public. I have been to Michael Hill stores in Toronto, and none of them had this apparent policy. The manager and the associate made up a fake policy to cover up their unacceptable behavior. Avoid the store at all costs. I would never step foot in there again.

    A fabulous experience in a warm welcoming environment with knowledgeable staff. I worked with Paola whose professionalism and customer service was refreshing and such a pleasure. Highly recommend!

    Such a wonderful experience! We just replaced my wedding band and engagement ring after many years... Beverly made it such a great experience, and we really couldn't be happier. I love my ring and will send anyone I can to this store. Ask for Bev :)

    I have bought beautiful golden hoop earrings at Michael Hill store in Bayshore Mall, Ottawa. Ladies at the store were brilliant in helping my daughter find what she likes. I will go back to the same store for our next occasion purchase and recommend the exceptional service we received.

    Beautiful rings but the service is terrible!!! I walked in, was greeted. But not offered to be helped. There was a few rings I needed help with, to try on. I waited a good 20mins, until I interrupted because no one would pay attention to the lady who was not with someone, others were being helped before me. When I was set on the ring, the lady was making fake small talk and basically laughing in my face for the budget. Now, I have 2 missing stones, which are very noticeable. I have to go back in person, which is far for me, again rude customer service on the phone when I was trying to find a solution. I've always wanted a ring from Michael Hill, will not be returning.

    Do NOT buy the warranty for anything they won't fix anything ...my ring is less then 7 months old and the band snapped ..and so i don't panick cause you know we have the extended warranty. Go into this location and they tell me the warranty is only for the setting and not the band ..well someone should sit you down and explain in detail what is covered and what is not before they push a warranty on people ...BE UPFRONT ABOUT IT...yet my setting is shifted on my band so now I can't wear it until I pay out of pocket to fix it ...clearly I will be going elsewhere to have it fixed cause I will not be spending another penny at Michael hill

    I asked to see a ring, the sales lady turned around and mildly acknowledged me. No verbal response and continued to finish what she was doing. When she walked over I proceeded to ask to see a ring. Again, no verbal response. It is quite a shock to see customer service and ultimately human interaction be so so poor. During a time like covid, you would think there would be more efforts to connect with people. Especially people looking to purchase a wedding ring. I hope there is improvement for the sake of other people's experiences.

    Terrible service. I entered the store where there were two available associates and one helping another customer. I walked around the entire store frequently glancing over at the associates behind the counter. Not one person greeted me or offered me assistance. I was there to pick out a necklace for my upcoming wedding day. They just lost a sale and a customer.

    One of the worst customer service experiences. I was in the store returning a ring and they saw my bag and never offered any help. All the while i was never greeted during 10 minutes of browsing around. I was then told the return can't be made due manager not available. I was told to come next day. When showed up next day, same sales person told me that there's is no manager at the store for the last two weeks. She literally lied to my face a day before. I traveled from far to come to the location only to find out they can't even do returns.

    Wonderful experience! We had just came from Peoples and the difference was night and day! No sales pressure. Tommy helped me choose a piece my wife loved! Bev was amazing too. All staff made me feel so welcome. I highly recommend this place!

    I absolutely love Michael Hill’s jewelry and have never had any issue with the jewelry. Houda is amazing and was so helpful. I highly recommend Michael Hill at Bayshore and Houda. Michael Hill is very lucky to have Houda on their team.

    Don't shop there or buy insurance plan. Product poorly made so after few wearing my necklace had some issue and now they told me that my insurance can't cover it and I also have to pay more than a half-price to get it fix. For sure I won't do it and will never recommend this store or buy there.

    Pretty awful new management. The previous manager who helped my husband(Chris) was amazing went above and beyond. The new manager tried to void my lifetime warranty because their policy changed in the last couple of months. When she realized she couldn’t void the contract because the ring was purchased before the policy changed she quickly got snarky with me and was rude. I called today to see if there were any updates on shipment and again extremely rude and dismissive terrible customer service and management. Business must not to be good I guess for someone to be that awful.

    Micheal hill is VERY disappointing. I bought a chain for my boyfriend, normally i go to “Charm” but they didn’t have what I wanted at the time. So I try MH and i wish i didn’t. Within the first 2 DAYS it broke. Walmart would have held up better. So we go back to the store with the receipt and everything and she says “did you purchase the care plan” i said “no, because he has many chains (from charm) and none have ever broken” It didn’t even break because of anything, it just fell off within the 2nd day. She said to have it fixed we needed to pay for it or get the care plan. I should NOT be responsible to fix it within 2 DAYS of wear. Micheal Hill, fix your policy. Never buying from them again.

    Staff are wonderful. They always remember my fiancee and I and seem to really care about their clients. They don't sell hard, they want to help find things you love within your budget. The quality of the products is wonderful, and the care plan is excellent. I like Michael Hill but I LOVE the Bayshore store.

    I will never go anywhere else. Tommy is the manager and he treated me like a friend. Mine and my wife’s happiness came way before the sale. I’m sure if any of the negative reviewers talked to Tommy about their concerns he would solve it right away. I will never go anywhere else for jewellery. The warranty they offer is actually worth it. I highly recommend this place for anyone to go. I will see you guys when it’s anniversary time!

    Terrible customer service! Recently bought a chain and it started turning black. Brought it in to see if something could be done and the lady said that it must have been worn in a hot tub (always taken off when going in water or any activities where it may get wet) the lady continued to tell me i was wrong and that i wore it in a hot tub, and I would have to pay for it to be fixed. Not at all impressed with service will definitely not be buying anything further from this company! Awful customer service!

    My husband purchased me a Gold bracelet and I didn’t wear it right away. It broke in 3 days after I started wearing and it was more than 3 months since the date of purchase so they wouldn’t cover in warranty. So they charged him $75 to fix it. He brought it back to me and I wore it. Guess what, it broke in 3 days again where at the same spot where they had fixed it. The manager Paula apparently was on a world tour and I couldn’t get hold her obviously and the assistant manager Huda was supposed to help me. They didn’t call me back. And I had to drive back and forth for 3 weeks then once the manager highness was back from the WORLD TRIP, she was apparently in a good mood and exchanged with the exact same bracelet. And she was telling me it would break if you wear everyday. I mean I don’t wanna get the exact same thing again knowing it would break. And I lost the $75 on top of it that I paid to fix. It doesn’t make sense to me that they can’t tell this while they sell you the product. They have the worst customer service. We bought a lot of rings including wedding and engagement ones yet they treat you like garbage. I wouldn’t recommend those old ladies working there. Don’t expect them to be sweet to you when you have issues.
