This place shouldn't be your first choice to go. The admin people are rude, dont listen, disorganized and dense. The nurses here spend more time socializing and gathering, making fun of patients than working. A lot of the nurses were snotty to people. There was zero compassion on these nurses. They spent time gabbing and complaining.Their ability to evaluate their patients and triage them is also very poor.

Current wait time right now 11+ hours. My daughter was in a lot of pain. It got worse while waiting. I told the triage nurse, and she rudely called out to another person and let the door close in my face. I actually think I stood there in shock for a few seconds due to her reaction. That length wait is risky for someone with appendicitis.

Child bleeding and needed stitches, waited 4h with a 1 year old way past his bedtime. Did not even clean the cut until the end. this could have been a lot quicker and smoother. Worried about infection.

We visited this hospital today for an emergency. The triage process was fair but once they send you to a room and you have to wait to see a doctor, then your wait begins. It does not matter how excruciating your pain is and how terrible you feel, you can be in the room for hours. The nurses just kept saying that the doctor was coming! When will this doctor come? Is he/she flying in from Vancouver? May be Queensway Carlton should only deal with non-emergency treatments to avoid the loss of lives. We will avoid Queensway Carlton Hospital next time.

Came in on Thanksgiving (9 Oct 2023) evening at 10:30 pm, with severe difficulty breathing (no other symptoms), looked like a very long (72 hour) panics attack, but was not sure. At 5:20 am was invited to another room where i would expect the doctor as soon as she-he could come. At 7:20 doctor came, very nice one. Since my case could possibly be problem with heart and-or lungs- all was checked, bloodwork too. I have no complaints. I have received some anxiety treatment - it helped, got the advice on next steps. There was a sign of “6+ hour wait”, and it was exactly so. I did see a lot of people who were not well, and I was managing. It was tough but i was managing, and i knew that if i get worse - i am right there, near all the help. So - overall - i am grateful! Triage nurses and other nurses were polite and kind!

Came in 29 weeks pregnant not able to eat or drink at 4 pm and was told at 11:30 I would not be seen by a doctor. I said I was very dehydrated and couldn’t drink anything and felt like passing out and they just said oh well things are moving along quickly. Not good care for a high risk pregnancy.

Thank you to all the ER doctors, nurses and staff, you are all amazing. Between myself and my children I had to make a couple trips to the ER recently. Staff was always very kind and professional, wait times were reasonable, received excellent care, and rooms were always clean. These people work so hard and deserve all the credit they can get!

I would put Zero or even below Zero if I could. They keep patients wait forever (that’s why they call them “patient” I guess). The 8+ hours waiting time estimate is just a scam. The correct estimate is actually +♾️ hours. If a patient decides to go for a 5 minute break outside and they call him during that time, he’s done, he’ll have to register again.

You can’t see a doctor unless you wait for 8+ hours. I don’t know how this can be acceptable in any place except in Canada. The ER was filled up with people who look tired and exhausted from the long wait. We have asked the receptionist to go back home as we live a few minutes away from the hospital and we will come back as soon as our turn comes but the answer was “not possible , we can call your name anytime and if you don’t answer you lose your place no matter how long you have waited, this is an emergency room we can’t wait” Well , how do they expect an ill person to stay in a room filled with ill people and sit on a plastic chair for 8+ hours and take on all the pain of illness and waiting and call it an emergency room service ? Anyway , not recommended even though you might have no other option

Had an elective-surgery, and got stitches here in the same month (for unrelated events). So one-time my visit was for in-patient surgery and the other was for emergency services. I thought that all the staff was professional, nice, and empathetic/sympathetic. Very pleasant experiences considering you're in a hospital.

I went here for a bad and persistent post lumbar puncture headache. I was seen quickly by triage and registration, and was given a room with a bed to lie down in. The nurses were all supportive and polite. The doctor I saw was very kind and knowledgeable and took my concerns seriously, and comforted/reassured me when I started to get anxious. The wait to see the anesthesiologist was long (~6h), but I knew that's the nature of the ER right now, and it's not something they can do anything about. The anesthesiologist was very professional, knowledgeable, and kind, and helped me make an informed decision. As I decided to give it some more time given the pain had improved, he let me know that I am welcome to come back the next day, that the best time would be during the day as they have more anesthesiologists at that time, and that he would leave a note for the daytime anesthesiologists. Overall a very positive experience, they were there when I needed it and I am very grateful for the positive, polite, and professional attitudes from all staff. It made an otherwise stressful and anxious time much more tolerable. My only note is having a water cooler in the ER would be helpful - I felt bad when I asked for water and the nurse had to leave for a few minutes to get me some.

Been to the ER several times in the last month and was admitted for surgery one of the times. Longest wait I’ve had from waiting room to doctor was an hour and a half and I was there for post op infection. Far more organized than they use to be for sure.

Came with ambulance after back injury at6.30p.m. Paramedics advised me to stay in emergency and check my spine. Waiting time was shown 8+ hours, so I decided to stay and wait for the doctor. Unfortunately I left at 8 a.m without being seen by anybody at the hospital. Jut couldn't sitting in chairs more than 13h with back pain It was the worst experience ever! If my situation wasn't an emergency, why not say it directly to me? Advice to come next day morning, for example

Avoid if you can. You’ll have the time to either die multiple times or be in pains for hours. Funny how their oath is “Do no harm”. I guess oaths are only good before you get your medical license. Wonder how bad it would be if they actually do harm.

Worst emergency service ever. Waiting to see doctor for more than 10 hours. Just got Tylenol for every one or two hours to reduce pain. Worst service of canada.

Worst emergency ever. Wait 5+ hours to be seen for 1 minute and treated like a piece of garbage. Very glad my income tax is going towards this terrible health care. What a joke.

Waited over 12 hours to see a DR , sent me back the next day for an ultrasound now there are no chairs and I’m left sitting on the dirty floor in pain , no sleep , starving again waiting for the DR to see my results . Shameful

Thank you to every single healthcare professional who helped my partner after his bike crash on Saturday, May 13 and then again on Monday, May 15. While it did take six hours (two hours when we were called back), you were all helpful and your decision to show up as kind and empathetic made such a difference. We both are grateful for the level of care he received.

Too many nurses no doctors all they doing is chating about personal life. Complete patient neglect. Not checking up on patients asking if needing food or water like a humane human being would. We are paying people many nurses to sit and not work. Axe many nurses bring in more doctors.

ELEVATOR PANEL is confusing. Pulmonary test: Front desk staff was excellent, she was warm, friendlyand full of humor. Technician not so much.

Waited 12 hours At emergency, wrong diagnosis, gave me wrong antibiotic injection, wrong antibiotic tablet, the doctor was young I think he has no experience, the doctors name is DR: Dr. Miguel Cortel-LeBla . I wanna be a dog in my next life, they care more about a dog or cat rather than human beings, it’s sad but true and it’s not a long wait at the hospital if there is an emergency.

Super long wait times and short staffed. But great nurses and staff, kind and professional- they’re doing the best they can in the circumstances. Some of the registration staff is a little rude though.

Sat waiting for a doctors with my two year old while he screamed coughed and cried for four and a half hours asked if someone could get me a sandwich since the two year old hadn’t eaten since 2 (this was at 7pm) and was told rudely that a doctors will take as long as it takes and that she would send a nurse in and hour and a half later with every one looking in out room ignoring us we walked out. Horrible hospital had a women bleeding from her nose sitting in the waiting room just as long as us she was just getting a room after sitting in the hall for 2+ hours God awful experience never going back I would rather bleed out then be brought here

After sitting for 3 hours waiting to get an x-ray bc the previous one done looked like a crack in my hip & they called the next day asking me to come in to re-x-ray my hip. I was told I wouldn't have to wait & all I needed to do was report to ED & they would sent me to X-Ray Department. Yet that's not what happened, I waited 3 hrs in pain as I have other medical problems & severe chronic disease & pain. I asked when would I be sent? The nurse picked up the phone asking if they do that, the answer must have been yes. My name was called another nurse took my vitals & asked why I was there. Again, I told her & asked when would I be going to x-ray. Then she said "well there is a wait out there & you'll have to wait to be called, then you'll have to see a doctor who would send you to x-ray. I told her what the person on the phone told me that I would be sent, I've already seen a doctor they need to re-take the x-rays on my hip. She said " well that's how it's done". I stood up with difficulty & said NO! I've already been here for 3 hrs & I'm not waiting any further. I have rare migraines in full effect & was barfy, I was a mess. The triage nurse said but you need to get the x-rays! I said yeah I know I was called & told however, unfortunately, you don't appear to be doing anything I was told. I was told it would be a quick in & out. Not so! This was rediculous! The treatment when I was in the hospital was stellar, I was covered in mud from the mud run. The nurses cleaned me up, cut my clothing off as a shivered in pain. They were amazing. Triage could take a lesson from these amazing nurse's. To them & my doctor who was equally attentive, thank you! Unfortunately, the MRI was not consistent & the doctor called me the next day. My hip was badly bruised & I had trouble moving. That was my good hip as I'm waiting on a hip replacement.

My husband was admitted to the ER with severe chest pains. The total wait time in the ER was about 6-7 hours. He was triaged right away, saw a nurse for blood work about 1 hour later then was able to actually see a doctor about 4 hours into our waiting time. The experience was long and tiring, however, the service and attention to details by the nurses and doctors was FANTASTIC. He was admitted right after his 4th testing and was well treated right through to when he was being discharged. Thank you to all the staff, nurses and doctors who helped my husband get better! We appreciate everything you guys do!

I waited whole night to be seen by the doctor. Their process is very slow, it can take forever for you to be called. The doctor didn’t even discuss the results of my report and precautions i should take very well. I was kinda disappointed.
