It's with a heavy heart that I pen down this review for Meadowland Family Health Clinic. While the professional capabilities of their doctors and nurses are beyond reproach, the extremely poor service of the reception team is utterly disappointing. I have been a loyal patient of Dr. Campbell for a few years, appreciating her thorough and patient approach. Unfortunately, the unprofessionalism and lack of empathy exhibited by the clinic's receptionists is gradually eroding the confidence I have in the clinic. Every interaction with the reception team, whether for scheduling appointments or renewing prescriptions, has been met with an alarming indifference. The lack of effort to assist, the abrupt conversations, and the overall rude demeanor are quite disconcerting. A recent incident left me even more perturbed. Upon inquiring about potential appointments, I was curtly informed that no slots were available without any offer for future appointments or alternatives. The receptionist, who never introduced herself, went on to dismiss me with a suggestion to call back every day. The approach lacked basic courtesy and professionalism. Additionally, the remote reception setup seems to be an added issue. Multiple instances of being hung up on mid-sentence and not being able to reach the clinic are prevalent. This structure appears ineffective if the receptionists are unable to provide required information or facilitate a transfer to the clinic. It's regrettable to witness the practice's reputation being tarnished due to the reception team's lackadaisical attitude. Numerous similar complaints echo through the reviews, which makes me question if these concerns are being read or addressed. The reception team, often seen as the front line of any practice, should reflect the values and standards of the clinic. Unfortunately, the current scenario at Meadowland Family Health Clinic is far from ideal. It is my hope that this review prompts the necessary improvements in the clinic's reception service. But until then, despite my admiration for Dr. Campbell, I am considering seeking medical care elsewhere due to these unpleasant experiences. #HealthcareReview #MeadowlandFamilyHealth #UnprofessionalService #ReceptionIssues #CustomerService #DoctorCampbell #HealthcareExperience #PoorService

When Dr Elias was there, my family loved our visits with him. Very professional and friendly, always taking the time to listen. Unfortunately, the Dr he sold his practice to is very unprofessional and that is when she isn’t on maternity leave. When she took over the practice, she was heavily pregnant and went on mat leave within the month. Every year since (2018), has been on mat leave every year. She likes having kids, good for her but unfortunate for us her patients as she does not arrange for locums all the time and when she does, they only cover few months of her entire year’s leave. This means trying to get impossible appointments with the other doctors whose schedules are already packed. Receptionists - all of them need to be fired and replaced with more professional ones who care about working in a doctor’s practice as the current rude ones certainly do not. Nurses - are ok generally.

If I could give no stars I would and only because of the receptionists. I have been a patient of Dr. Campbell for almost 10 years and so has my mom and grandmother. Dr. Campbell is great, she listens and is very thorough with each appointment. But the review and rating goes to the reception team which also seems to be a trend in the reviews on here. Every single time I call whether its for an appointment or prescription renewal the receptionists seem to not care what so ever. I get it, people are not always the nicest to receptionists (been there and done that, some people can be very impatient and rude) but this team is absolutely horrible. I hate to say it, but it's true. I called to see if my doctor had any availability tomorrow and was told "no".. that's it.. so I proceeded to ask about any other day this week and got "she's off til friday" and before i could say anything she said "mam its Wednesday so there's only Thursday and Friday left and she's not here".. so I asked about next week (it's not urgent but I do need to see a doctor).. she said "no but call back every day to see". Very unprofessional. I understand it's busy and so is my doctor, 100% understandable.. but no effort what so ever to try and help, maybe see a nurse or find a date that she is available to see me for 15 minutes.. nothing. It's unacceptable service. Not only that, but she never said who she was when answering the phone so I have no idea whom I was speaking with.. she answered with "hi there". It's really a shame that I truly like my doctor but it's a pain to just speak to reception who is the Frontline whom are supposed to help you. She was awful. And it's not the first time I call and recieve an unpleasant receptionist. Please work on this as its really making your practice look bad and also making me consider finding a new practice. Doesn't even seem as if you read your reviews and see how many other people say the same thing. Do better!

First, let me start off by saying that I've never been seen by a doctor here that wasn't professional and knowledgeable. Really great care. The problem with this clinic is you can't get in for care when you need it. Phones are never answered. And when they were actually open to see you in person before COVID, you'd have to line up an hour before they opened to be able to get a spot in the queue for same day urgent care. If you didn't want to line up, you could call in after 9am to see if there were any spots left to be seen that day. Bottom line, this clinic is mismanaged and their practices are a hindrance to your desire to get better.

I love my doctor she’s awesome but booking an appointment is made impossible by the receptionist team. They never pick up the phone, place you on very long holds, are not very nice, and I have been hung up on multiple times. Today I called at 11:39 knowing they don’t answer the phones between 12:00-1:00, it got to 11:57 of no one having picked up to hear it being picking up and then immediately ended.

Editing my review. I absolutely loved our family doctor but unfortunately since Covid started, it seems they forgot other medical needs exist. It is impossible to get through on the phone and when you do you are greeted by extremely rude receptionist. I have medical needs and needed to see a specialist that I couldn't get a referral for. When I called the specialist myself and they requested a referral from my doctor they said he was rude about the whole situation. All together I am extremely disappointed and ended up finding a new doctor. I would avoid this place if you can.

Dr. Campbell is a decent doctor but it is extremely frustrating and inconsiderate to have patients wait 2-3 weeks for an availability just for your ALREADY CONFIRMED appointment to be canceled the day before at 10PM. This has happened to me and my family members way too often. They do not take into consideration that some people have jobs and lives and have planned for that specific day to come in. Receptionist team is extremely unpleasant to deal with, rude, and have no customer satisfaction skills. It’s clear this office as a whole has very poor time management and organization skills. I have expressed this frustration numerous times to the receptionist team and there seems to never be a resolution. If I could give 0 stars I would. You’re truly better off waiting at an Apple Tree than seeing your own family doctor.

My doctor, as well as the other doctors I have occasionally seen at this clinic are wonderful. Competent, kind and efficient, and quickly providing referrals to other services when needed. The reception staff is very frustrating to deal with though. Staff is rude (I have been hung up on more than once), lacking tact, and mistakes have been made on numerous occasions. Some staff are great, but it's hit or miss, as some are terrible, and this means I need to follow up multiple times with regards to anything having to do with the staff as I can't trust that it will be completed appropriately.

When a Health Care Facility becomes part of the problem, causing mental anguish. I was getting low on my medication and called to inquire about seeing my doctor or talking to him for a renewal. I was told they could book me in in about 4 weeks. I told them I would run out by then. They told me to have the pharmacy fax a requisition. I went to the pharmacy 2 days later and was given enough for 3 days. I called my doctors office , no answer and left a message to call me as this is an issue now. No call no response. I called again a few days later and was told they would send my doctor a message. Called the pharmacy a few days after that and nothing. At this point I was about to run out and the pharmacy was able to give me enough for 2 days. I called my doctors office the next day and the receptionist told me he had been on vacation the ENTIRE TIME this situation was unfolding! The office staff caused so much wasted time. I made an appointment with the after care to get a prescription which required time off work. The doctor I saw was extremely passive aggressive and condensending. She told me my doctor had sent a new prescription the day before. She made it a point to tell me how amazing this was since he was on vacation on a boat down south. I asked why did the reception staff neglect to relay vitial information to me, which would have saved eveyones time. She then said they don't have access to any of that information and that it is ultimately my responsibility to ensure I do not run out of medication. I couldn't believe the way she spoke to me given everything that happened. I had her write me a perscription just incase there were anymore issues and left. I called the pharmacy and they never got the prescription the doctor had told me about. Health Care professionals are supposed to help people in need. Not cause fustration, anxiety and stress. Doctors are entitled to time off. I did my due diligence and yet was still left short. My doctor has been helpful in the past and there is another doctor there that has been the nicest Ive ever seen during previous after care appointments. The office staff seems to be the big issue and needs to be managed properly.

I’m literally in tears by how I was just treated by the receptionist. She should not even have a job . She has literally zero empathy whatsoever, had a huge attitude and when I told her my situation cuz she asked she said “u shouldn’t be telling me this make an appointment with ur doctor “ THATS WHY I CALLED ! AND SHE ASKED WHATS IT ABOUT! and it wasn’t an easy thing to discover the phone I was already in tears and she said I can’t help you good bye and literally hung up on me just as lunch break started and I couldn’t call back. They need a complete overhaul of their reception. Some are great but there’s one lady who is absolutely horrible every time I call with not a shred of empathy. I have been a patient for 15 years. Love my doctor, receptionist needs to go

Doctors are amazing but the receptionists over the last year have been appauling. I have been a patient for 10 years and never experienced ONGOING issues like I have. First after my family had covid and cleared to go back to school , the receptionist told me to get out even after I was done quarantine. And everytime I call the receptionists are RUDE . Very unfriendly and not helpful in the slightest. Trying to pay for renewals and the receptionist was rude and gave me attitude and lectures me on being rude but took no accountability on how she projects herself. So unprofessional and cold. They need to learn some people skills and bedside manners. They are currently doing the doctors a disservice!

I like my family doctor but it is impossible to schedule an appointment with him. The reception staff do not care about the patients. They do not listen or try very hard to be accommodating. I live 7 hours away and booked my appointment 2 months in advance, when I knew I was scheduled to be in Ottawa. They just called me to cancel because my doctor is now unavailable and the reception staff did not try in the slightest to figure out a different solution for me. It's now been 3 years since I've had any medical check-up and looks like I'll be waiting another year.

The receptionist staff is incredibly rude. I'm a very polite person and was trying to make a very simple appointment with Dr. Gerth. The receptionist made me feel as if I was bothering her as she barked my appointment information to me and hung up the phone. Awful

I hadn't been to Meadowlands Family Health Center since before COVID, as I am usually very healthy. Now that I do need medical attention, I call them to schedule an appointment only to find I've been removed from the care of my assigned doctor without any notice. This is extremely inconvenient and terrible practice. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone.

The receptionist spoke very rudely towards my mother and I when informing us that they no longer take walk-in appointments. We explained that we were not aware of this change since walk-ins were available to registered patients pre-covid, to which she repeated in a very annoyed manner that they "do not take walk-in appointments" and that the info is "on the website". This response was fine, however, the attitude was not. If the receptionists need a break, please give them one.

I have been going to this clinic for years and LOVE my doctor there. However the service of the receptionist team is totally unprofessional and unacceptable. First you will wait a minimum of 15 minutes to get through to anyone, then they will speak to you like you're crazy and question your medical choices. Horrible.

Wish I could give this place negative stars , the doctors and nurses are kind , but the front desk staff is extremely rude. They have receptionists working from home so when you do finally get a hold of them they can’t give you the info you called for cause it has to be a nurse .. and they are unable to transfer you to the actual clinic. 2 days in a row I have called and I was not impressed with how rude the receptionist was , I was hung up on mid sentence and afterwards my call was not answered .. I tried 3 different times , I was left a message to contact the office .. and I have been trying for days . NOT IMPRESSED. RUDE. Do not expect any help when you contact this clinic through phone , absolutely ridiculous

This morning (June 25, 8:40am) I called to ask about making an appointment. This clinic came up as "walk-in" in my search. First the receptionist took my call but we got cut off, I called back and it rang about 5minutes, she answered RUDLY, asking which doctor then VERY RUDLY said "this is a private clinic, it's walk-in for our patients only and we are not taking anyone". Then she promptly hung up. She may have assumed when we got cut off that I hung up on her, but it's not true, and due to the tone in her voice the second time, I can only assume she recognised my number, avoided answering in hopes I'd give up, then treats me terribly. Why would this clinic keep this woman?! Is she the owner's relative? What a bad first impression of Meadowlands Family Health. She is a horrible public face of the organisation!!!!.

I have been with the Meadowlands Clinic for many years. I have to agree over the years the admin staff has left me on hold for far to long, or hung up on me, has been rude. Mixed up my appointment. I find they have improved over the years. The two receptionists in there now are kind, explain fully the Dr calendar and try not to leave you on hold for to long. (Sarah, is wonderful!!). There are numerous Dr in the clinic, you do have to expect to wait some. As for Dr Campbell, I have waited for her, never more than 15 minutes, and NEVER without an apology. But, I’ll tell you, she’ll give you the time you need, she treats you like a person, and isn’t afraid to refer you on.

I just contacted and spoke to reception to inquire as to whether my previous doctor Dr Stuart Kurtz would be able to take me on as a patient again as I've returned from out of country. The receptionist was rude, short with me and had no interest in even attempting to assist me.

Absolutely horrible service at this clinic. Receptionists are rude and unwilling to accommodate an appointment that was missed by 10 minutes. I would rate this clinic zero stars if possible. Management needs to review processes. Rather go to a walk-in clinic.

In double checking the Clinic phone number I stumbled across all these reviews. I've been with Meadowlands and Dr. Alisha Campell for many years now. I've never had anything other than a great experience right from the initial phone call, to checking in, to my actual appointment with the Dr. I called today and Sarah was absolutely amazing! Listened to what I needed and offered two appointment types. Yes, the one I need is just under 2 weeks away, but that has been the typical wait time. But Dr. Campell has always been amazing at time management.

Dr. Shamim is amazing. The office staff are probably understaffed and overworked so if you do what they ask things go well. If people expect better service than we need MORE options for health care in Canada. The elites like politicians and professional athletes get gold plate service. Tell your Member of Parliament.

Receptionist are not helpful. My doctor who I have been with for 15 years now, I can't get into see him without a minimum of 2 month wait. Which means my prescription renewals cannot be done in person (the scheduling conflicts with appointmentsand when my prescription runs out) so I get charged $20 per renewal the pharmacy faxes to renew. It once was an amazing family health clinic but it has gone down hill!

I love Dr. Gerth but their receptionists are never reliable. They are usually rude and very short when trying to speak with them. You can never get ahold of them. The doctors call went straight to my voice-mail and i called the front desk for over an hour and no answer. Absolutely ridiculous that I waited 3 weeks for an appt and can't even get on the phone with them. Extremely disappointed

I really appreciate the option for urgent care for whenever you need to make an appointment for something that can’t wait 3 weeks but also isn’t an emergency. I would like to see the option in the future for online chats / emails rather than having to book appointments for things such as prescription renewals or perhaps issues that don’t require a full appointment but you wouldn’t know if you didn’t ask first.

I've recently had to make several phone calls to reception. I must draw attention to the incredible phone responses I've rec'd from Shalaina, in particular. Not only is she responsive and incredibly caring and polite, but she quickly Emails necessary papers. She's a gem of an employee, working in a stressful health care environment.
