If I could I would go no stars I would Not enough chairs. In a line up like cattle. Then pharmacy keeps saying stand back move away politely of course, do not use them Doctor I will not going back to Didn't examine when I told him my pain. Sent me to a specialist at baseline appletree not sparks like we requested Poor service. Making the assistants run around and do the real work. Should get the real pay

Woke up early to go wait in line for the clinic. Got there at 6:30 and there was already a line. Waited for 2.5 hours outside. The doctor never showed up. At 9am I had to leave for class. I'm not sure if the doctor ever showed up... The clinic was scheduled to open at 7am. When we called Appletree for help, they just told us he was probably running a bit late. Ridiculous, unprofessional, and down right rude. I'm just glad it wasn't full winter when this happened

This is the most humiliating experience patients can have. We were standing in line with a toddler for an hour and a half waiting to register and then the staff member decided to close the register and said we can’t take any more patient. They didn’t for a minute think to tell SICK people to not stand in line hoping to see a doctor. Incredibly rude staff member that is. I will be filing a complaint against the staff member and a complaint against Appletree with the Ministry of Health. Treating patients (especially vulnerable children) like this, is NOT ok.

huge waste of time 👎 i was looking for a walk in clinic and found the appletree medical centre. i checked the website before going and it said it was open and the wait time was 30 minutes so i went but when i got there 15 minutes later the waiting time updated to 2 hours. there was a lot of people there so it made sense and i started waiting. when i got to the front of the line there was no receptionist, just a kiosk. i filled out my information and sat down to wait some more. after a bit a patient came out from the back and said there was no doctors there and so there was nothing they could do. apparently she was the first one there at 9:30am and she left at 11:30am saying the employees didn't do anything/couldn't do anything because the doctor was sick. so then why were a bunch of us waiting for doctors that weren't even there??? none of the employees said anything to us, the other patients had to tell eachother that there was no point in being there. would've had better luck at the hospital emergency room

What a clown show this place is! The website says they open at 8:30. It is now 9:00 and no sign of anyone opening the doors. The website states that it’s currently open, but there is no employee in sight and the doors are locked tight and the line up is now around the block and they close at 1, according to the website, so good luck to all of us. Great healthcare in Ontario!

The doctors I have seen through the walk in clinic were shockingly neglegent and rude. The doctors working here are literally ONLY concerned with volume of patients/$$$ they can charge, they're not even providing medical attention. I waited 8 hrs and the doctor spent 3 minutes with me before leaving me alone in the room again. This place should be reported, it's the epitimy of what's wrong with our medical system in Canada. I could hear everything through the walls, including other people's confidential medical discussions, in detail. I felt like I was in the US, treated like a cash cow rather than a patient.

This review is for an appointment, not a walk in. I made an appointment at this clinic (6 months ago!) and I showed up on time, but they told me the doctor left earlier that day and my appointment was cancelled. They never called, emailed, or texted me that my appointment was cancelled. In fact, I even received a text message confirming the appointment, only to show up to find it was cancelled and the doctor was a no-show. This was just completely disrespectful of my time, especially considering the fact that they charge you a fee if you miss an appointment, but you are just out of luck if they do the same to you! My time is worth something too, so it's very rude to cancel on me without calling or emailing first. Overall, this is a disorganized clinic and I'd recommend visiting a different one if you need to make an appointment.

This rating is for appointments only - not walk-in experience. I do recommend the Pap Clinic offered - it was the most comfortable pap I've ever had, and as I had an appointment I was seen within 5 minutes of my scheduled appointment. It was quite quick and efficient - I'm sorry this isn't the experience with the walk-in, that can be a gamble for sure

Waited 2.5 hours for a walk-in and about 2 hours into waiting, they informed half of the line that they’re no-longer taking walk-ins. At the end of my wait, I was informed the the doctor called in sick and that I would have to come another time. Yesterday I called them to ask which locations are available for walk-ins and went to one across the city just to be told that they were no-longer doing walk-ins, contrary to what I was told on the phone. They’re highly inefficient and unreliable. If you’re insured or have a health card, I would advise using their online services instead to avoid this mess. People’s time is far too precious to be wasted due to a corrupt system.

Very disturbing... I went on line too see opening time. website said opens at 8:30.. that was a lie. I arrived early, so as to get in at a reasonable time ... waited for hour and halve for no reason because the Preston St. apple tree. was closed for that day. there was no notification of this closure on the website. Five people waited for over an hour to find out that there was no Dr. there to see them. So inconsiderate.

I know most people only post reviews when they have a terrible or an exceptional experience, so I thought I would share my "good" review. I went to the clinic in January 2022. I arrived early, which is key to any walk in clinic, and was in and out within an hour. The receptionist was pleasant. The doctor didn't go over and above, but he was competent and listened. I have had mixed experiences with Appletree myself, but this one was fine.

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME! If I could give a ZERO star I would! The absolute worst clinic ever! A sign should be at the front door and at the reception counter that they are short staff to warn patients of the situation they are walking into before registering! No consideration for patients in any way shape or form! Extremely rude front desk staff! Absolute worst place to go visit for your health or your families health! Don’t waste your time at this location.

I had the shivers already from being sick.... after 2 hours waiting in the doctor room for my appointment, I asked how long it would be, because I was FREEZING. The medical assistant said that I should try "Jumping Jacks or rub hot water on my body" to keep warm, with a smile, almost like she was making a joke of how cold I was, trying to get me to join in with her. I than went outside until it was my turn to get care to try and warm up, with re-assurences from the same medical assistant that I would be notified when it was my turn. I received the text at 3:39 and instantly made my way inside and was in the office by 3:40. She then proceeded to tell me that the doctor couldn't wait, and that I had lost my spot. This turned out to be untrue as the doctor followed me into the room about a minute later. I wish this wasn't true. Very disrespectful way of treating someone who is coming to you for help.

Didn't want to believe other reviews, but the negative ones are 100% accurate. Doctor makes little to no space to hear out the patient and is unavailable for follow up appointments or contact. Hours posted on website are incorrect and nobody takes an interest in correcting them. Communication between the Doctors and Staff is lacking, and the Staff are curt and unprofessional. There is no effort made to post if and when the walk-in clinic is cancelled; Staff simply find out when the doctor doesn't show up. Want to believe that this is simply the sad state of Healthcare in Ontario, but have sadly had other very negative experiences with Appletree in the past.

Awful service! No respect for patient and his/her time. Got there on time for my appointment and waited for one hour to get my test done! But that was not it!! The assistant asked me to wait for the doctor to say Hi to me! Waited for another hour for her to come say Hi! And she literally just said Hi and repeated that I will get my results in 6 weeks! She saw 5-6 patients in between while she could take less than a minute to just let me go!! Unbelievable! really!

225 preston Ottawa Ontario Oct 10. 5:22pm At approximately 4;20 -4:30 I was being intimidated and prevented by another patient at the walk in clinic at 225 preston street. The woman was wearing an Armani black tracksuit with braids, wearing lots of gold approximately 5'9" and very physically and verbally agressive. She was upset that the attendant from earlier told me that I should register and I would be first because I was there at 9am that morning, waiting until 3;30 to be told that I would have to come back at 4;30. She proceeded to physical intercept me at the computer screen while I was trying to register. She actually pushed me aside and removed my arms and fingers from the screen. I called out for help but the receptionist said she would not help. The receptionist for identification purposes was African decent woman perhaps age 30. So because none of the staff would help me with this woman who was intimidating me and physically trying to push me out of the way to stop me from registering, I called 911. I finished on the call with the police and moved aside and the woman in the black Armani tracksuit who was assaulting me continued to speak in rage about me. I then waited at the reception desk to let the receptionist know I wasn't able to register because of the that woman. She said that she would not serve me because of the altercation, yet it was the woman in the black Armani track suit and heavy gold chains who put her arms and hands on the screen to prevent me from registering. I don't understand why I was not protected, nor why the receptionist would not serve me. I was of course upset because someone had just assaulted me but instead the receptionist said I was erratic, which was absolutely untrue. It seemed to me that the receptionist who would not help me took the side of the other woman because they were the same culture. since, the receptionist walked away when I asked for help so how was she supposed to know of my behaviour, which was simply not moving from the computer and call the police for help since she refused to help. I am very disappointed in Preston street apple tree clinic. it seems like a very rough kind of citizen is allowed to go there and intimidate and get away with it and the staff don't care. I could have been injured. However, I left because I didn't want further physical intimidation from the woman in the Armani Black track suit.

Minus 5 stars! Been here 3 times, first 2 times with severe gout pain but they weren't even open despite the website saying they are and the third time with a pinched nerve. When I last went there was nobody waiting so I thought I was lucky but they weren't even taking walk ins??? A walk in clinic that doesn't take walk ins what's next a McDonald's that doesn't make burgers!!! These doctors should have they're licenses revoked and fined for false advertising, avoid at all cost.

I've seen unprofessional people but this clinicis at the top. They can get you to wait for hours outside to turn you around as you get inside. I was under the impression that doctor office would have compassion and would inform the people that they may not get server and search for alternative before wasting hours.

I know they’re trying their best in these trying times but some of the stuff makes absolutely no sense. Why have check in machines ? Where a bunch of sick people touch them and then sit in a waiting room together. Wouldn’t it make sense to be able to check in online to which location you’re at. I have no issues with the staff or wait times. It is what it is. They’re trying their best and am grateful for that. My gripe with the check in machines is because it would not accept my health card. In between the time it took me to talk to staff and figure it out, 6-7 people checked in, meaning I was pushed back even further down the line to see the doctor even though I was one of the first people there. Being there at 6:30am and not seeing a doctor til 10, not cool.

Told all week to come for 8:30am to register on a Saturday for 9am opening. Currently 9:15am and no lights on inside, large lineup outside, and no communication as to what's happening. Incredibly frustrating. Between front of house staff and doctor there should be someone here.

I'm not sure why the reviews are this low for this location... The doctors are really nice and helpful. Concerning the waiting room, people are welcome to leave and wait for the clinic to call them before coming in, which reduces the amount of people in the waiting area. If you come in a couple minutes before registration, you'll most likely be helped in less than an hour.

Feeling the worst After 2ours and half of waiting, I finally get in, nurses brows very quickly through the problem, no deep investigation, then, after a little bit more wait a doctor come in, he didn't see you but he already knows the little bit that the nurse gave him, already got the prescription ready, do not want to hear you talk, explain your problems and do not want to know anything at all really, makes you feel undeserving of his time, wasting it really, then, after that, leaves you without any other information and somehow that is supposed to be enough... If you are into inconsiderate care, if you like being ignored and treated as nothing then go, otherwise, avoid at all cost

Receptionist staff and Dr. Asrat were pleasant, wait time from arrival to end of examination was 2hr-2.5hr if you arrive early before they open. Unfortunately some days they will only take appointments and other days will only take walk-ins, and I'm not sure if they state that on their site but the first time I went here everyone in the line was told it was appointment only and had to come back another day for walk-ins. Hours posted on Google also seem to be incorrect by 30 minutes or so. One of the registration machines were also broken at the time.

This location has extremely long wait times. I highly recommend checking online to see what the wait times are and which doctor is working at your preferred location. Apart from that, I had a nice visit. There was only one doctor working at that time and both him and his Medical Assistants were very nice, helpful and made me feel comfortable. They have a pharmacy in house so if ever you need to fill your prescription on the spot, you can do so. Compared to the other Appletree locations, I prefer this one the most!

An absolute joke and nightmare, I waited for 3 hours, 3 dam* hours to be told that I was 2 people behind, and some how magically more than 4 went ahead of me. I am disgusted by the Appletree medical clinics not just this one but by every one of them, there are kids and robots that can do your jobs way better, 7 years for some license and this is the service we get from you doctors? You should be ashamed of yourselves. You just look at your screens ask a few questions and send us off for some random meds to help heal us. I'm appalled at your service, good job NOT!

Went in July for a Pap test. I had a Med student perform the exam, she was very aggressive and i've never had a more painful Pap test in my life. After the exam, I was told I needed to wait for the Dr to fill me in on everything and that it wouldnt take long. I waited in the room for 45 minutes before the Dr just popped in to say that my results may take 3 months to process, and that theyd contact me if there was an issue. It's now been 2 months, and I decided to check my appletree patient portal to see if there were any results. Lab tests say they were unable to process due to the age of the specimen. No one messaged me on the portal or tried to all. Now I have no idea what the hell I'm supposed to do. Awful service.

Avoid this Doctor unless your desperate. Gave me a Prescription as needed. However trying to re-new it with him is next to impossible. It's for my blood pressure and it works and does the job. The Pharmacy has tried 5 times to get him to re-new with no avail. Been 5 weeks now they send faxes to re-new and he does not reply. This is week 6 and finally I get a call to go see him to renew. A bit late Doctor I have been out for 6 weeks now DUH! (Note: I did get some from the Pharmacy for a month supply without the subscription) Thanks to Rexall.

She ignored you very unprofessional and does not give her name if you ask this is coming from a supervisor at appletree clinic. She even want to take me off the list. For asking her a question. The worst medical clinic ever.. I wish I could give negative star. The management is extremely poor. No empathy for the patients.. They have a funny family doctor system where you get a so called family doctor but you will never be able to see the doctor. Besides, they close the clinic all of a sudden. If you know the clinic is closed on Wednesday, and you took off from work to see a doctor on Friday, you will see that there is an update on Thursday that the clinic will be closed. This happened to me several times. They are making the healthcare services a big joke. I haven’t seen anyone saying a single good thing about this clinic. Stay away from this place good people.

They don’t care, worst customer service I have ever seen. Google shows a different walk in time than what is shown in the website or posted on their door. Their door says the walk in time is at 9:00 am there was already a line of 5 waiting outside. The people inside waited till 9:30 to tell us that walk in registration starts at 10:30 so some of us already spent hours waiting already. Please go to another clinic if you can’t they don’t care about how they service the people. They probably hate their jobs and just want to go home. I don’t understand why healthcare will be so bad. These are peoples lives that you are dealing with. At least treat them with respect and make sure your wait times are accurate, people have jobs and took time off and cancelled meetings for this.

What an absolute joke of a doctor office. This Christina Proud had a video call with us today, never called never gave a reason just flat out didn't show up. Amazing way to treat your patients. So I call to make another appointment she's all booked and we need to wait for her to post her schedule which no one knows when that happens. Poorly managed poorly run just a pathetic attempt at heathcare, thanks for nothing appletree and hopefully you feel PROUD Doc!!!

Our experience with them has been extremely terrible. My wife needed a vaccine, the doctor told my wife to come Thu for a followup visit. The Clinic was supposed to open at 7 (per website) and it opened at 9. We waited for 2 hours only to find out that the doctor comes on Friday. Nurse told her to come Friday early at 6.30. We arrived 7.30 and it was still closed.

Came in to get a note to return to work. Dr Lola Sogbein refused to see me/ sign the note as she does not "do notes or deal with respiratory symptoms". I specifically booked my appointment with her , as she was the only phtsician available who had no restrictions listed next to her me in the patient portal booking system. I have never been met with a more unprofessional service . This walk in/physician does not even deaerce a 1 star review

Absolutely terrible, you register... Get told there's 4 patients before you come back in 1h or we'll call your cell if you spot is up. When you do come back after 1h now there are 6 patients before you and you get told you will have to wait another 1h+. Wow. Great, thank you very much for the great registration system. It works surprisingly well.

I do not understand why this clinic gets terrible reviews. I registered and booked online, a time that was convenient for me. I was assessed by a lovely assistant to Dr. Lola Sogbein right on time. I hear folks complaining that Dr. Sogbein is cold or does not care. This is really unfair as she was nothing of the sort. Yes, she was all business, but made sure to take care of all my concerns and booked me with a specialist right away. She is not there to make small talk as she usually has a full waiting room of walk ins on top of her scheduled appointments.

The only doctor on staff today, Dr. Malik Meghani, apparently refuses to treat any women’s health issues. The clinic has a sign stating this that they put out on display in the lobby AFTER waiting for an extended period of time to be seen. Would have been great to have been informed this when we arrived rather than being told after waiting to be seen. Also would be great to put the sign out proactively. They also refused to give us the doctors name when asked, we only determined the doctors name from the sign they put out AFTER waiting and after getting turned away by the reception staff. Atrocious treatment, and atrocious lack of professionalism. Shame on the doctor for refusing to treat women and children, and shame on Appletree for employing a doctor who refuses to treat 2/3 of the population, and only informs clients after endless waiting. Absolutely disgusted by the lack of professionalism and zero standard of care.

I went to the Sparks location in Ottawa. Receptionist and staff are very cordial and kind. My advice is to come super early, register and go home if you can. Wait times are around 3-5 hours. Bring some reading material and sweater! The waiting area is cold. If you come with the expectation to wait, then the visit will be fine. Doctor is great. I believe low ratings are mostly for long wait times. They do text you around 30 min to 1 hr before it's your turn.

I booked an appointment over a week ago for virtual care. I was waiting on the video call for 35 minutes when my appointment was cancelled. They cancelled while I was ON THE CALL waiting for the doctor for 35 minutes past my appointment time. I took work off for this. This is not the first time I’ve had an appointment cancelled same day. But at least last time it was a couple hours before. Still terrible. If I booked the appointment over a week ago have some courtesy and not waste peoples time by letting them know like a few days in advance???

Monday supposed to open 6:30am for registration. I got there at 6am to be sixth in line and eventually up to 30 people waited outside in the cold with me. 7 am rolls by with no sign of life from the office. One by one people drop out due to the extreme cold or other commitments. It’s past 8am and I am giving up too. The main Appletree phone line has no humans to talk to either, so if you are reading this and banking on calling them when they ‘open’ at 8, you are gonna be out of luck. It’s cruel not to post anything on the clinic door or website to warn people that it’s never going to open. There were children and elderly freezing. If I could only do virtual appointments I’d never come back, but not all ailments can be seen virtually.

Worst place to go if you are sick. The staff doesn’t care about your time. They will see you when they want to. I waited 5.5 hours or almost 6 hours just to see the doctor and not to forget i came 6:30 in the morning before they open. Their service is terrible no one is at reception and the receptionist is helpless if you ask something.

If I could, there would be no stars. In late 2022, the love of my life and I visited the clinic as a last ditch effort to get his pain under control after seeing the specific doctor a few times. After begging the doctor to take his issue serious we were pretty much dismissed. Now, after much debate, I am writing this review… my partner was diagnosed with stage 4 Ewingsarcoma in May, 2023 by other doctors who listened. I remember the day we went because there was barely any chairs, he was visibly having issues and had to sit outside in the cold. They were clearly understaffed and no had empathy. We stood for hours only to feel like frauds when we genuinely just wanted medical care. Please know I never do this sort of thing, this is not fake. I have pictures of his x ray and endless amount of paper work. No matter what anyone says… this could have been preventable. Please remember to be an advocate for your own health, but Appletree… please listen to people when they bring up concerns… He just turned 23 years old.

I’ve never wrote a review on Google before but after this nightmare folks need to know what they’re getting into. Registration began at 930 AM. Arrived at 9 AM, waited until 2 PM to be brought in a small room and it’s now almost 430 PM and I’m still here with not one person checking in on me. You’re better off going to an ER than coming to this joke of a doctors office. Never had such a terrible experience with Appletree like I had today, stay away from this location.

WORST clinic I’ve ever been to. I’ve been waiting for 8 hours here at the clinic, and then after calling me to say they’re ready for me, I’ve now been sitting inside the actual doctors office for over 2 hours waiting for him. Will likely just get up and leave soon without even being seen. Entire day completely wasted. DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS CLINIC

Dr. Ata should not be practicing medicine, and was negligent. I went to see her for a painful UTI. She ordered a urine sample and then never followed up with me. I called Appletree several times. A urine sample that she ordered is not even in the hospital notes - how is that possible? This is at 225 Preston St, Ottawa, ON K1R 7R1. Which means that I would have to go back and wait another three hours because she didn't do her job nor take the obligatory medical notes. Is this because she wants to get paid twice?

😠 Clinic was incredibly frustrating. The kiosk for registration often directed patients to “see receptionist “ who appeared at her desk twice during my 5.5 hour wait. And only stayed there for less than a few minutes each time. Patients definitely weren’t served when they had questions that needed ans...

😠 Had an appointment booked for 5 months and had them call me 2 weeks prior to the consultation to tell me that the doctor would not be meeting with me because I am 28.. the audacity of leaving this to last minute has me feeling gaslit. Purchased a prescription, had rides planned, time booked off work...

👍👍 My husband recently went for a colonoscopy at this clinic and was very happy with the service. He had never been under sedation before so he was understandably quite nervous. From the moment of arrival, everyone was kind and helpful. I went in with him at the beginning to get him checked in and I ag...
