Primacy - Stittsville Medical Clinic - Dr Pella

General practitioner Medical office

😠 I was just visited the clinic this morning for my 81 years old mom. The things upset me was the front desk receptionist was so rude when I ask her how much longer after waiting for 1.5 hours. The tone of her voice and attitude are very impatient and feels like she is giving me a lecture for asking.... People often mention clinic, doctor, wait, waiting, time, receptionist, hours, walk, told, times,

This location is no longer a walk in clinic. It shows in Google as walk in but this is incorrect and needs to be updated. It is not a walk in clinic.

Always long wait time 1.5-2 hours, doesn't matter if you come in the morning, midday or afternoon! So one day we came at 8:30 do be a first to get a Flu shot for our 2 years old son and prevent the contamination from other sick people (understandable in med clinic). However, the doctor came to the clinic just at 10am! Receptionist even didn't say that he is not coming on time, just "he is coming soon", we were just sitting in the room in the totally quite clinic and waiting as other people. It wasn't emergency, we could come some other day, she just sould tell us! At 9:30 when I came out from the room to ask,the receptionist mentioned that he is on the way. at 10 am the doctor finally came and mentioned that he usually starts at 10 am and not at 9am, apologized! but still started to check other clients and not my son. Otherwise, Dr. Evans is very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. Great physical assessment!! Other day he helped to my daughter with acne (her skin is getting better). I received a massage therapy referral letter for my back pain for $20 ,either. Still don't understand why, but got a partial refund from our benefits. The problem is that Dr. Evans talks a lot not regarding to your condition and it's actually making the waiting time much longer. Not sure if I want to go there again.

If there was an option for 1 star, this would be it. Dr. Brien Whalen should not be a medical professional. I went to the walk in on May 13th with a very sensitive problem. The wait time was less than 5 minutes which should have been my clue. I picked this walk in because I called and the receptionist seemed kind and I needed that support and kindness. My friend and I were brought into an exam room and the whole time we can hear Dr. Whalen literally yelling into the room at the nurse about different patients. He was talking about lab work or something but it was super unprofessional and he continued for a long time. The nurse rolled her eyes at him and looked at us apologetically. She probably saw how appalled I was and said "Alright" in a tone saying "be quiet". He completely ignored that cue and continued yelling in. It was a solid 5 minutes of yelling. Completely unprofessional and potentially a breach of confidentiality... I should not hear about other patients. This is all before he even comes in the room. Next, a different nurse comes in to triage. I explain how sensitive an issue it is and she is compassionate and attentive. About a minute later he walks in with absolutely no information from the nurse so I'm forced to painfully re explain everything. He cuts you off while speaking, he is loud and obnoxious, and he told me there is absolutely nothing I can do. He talks down to you like you're an idiot and he is all knowing. However, I saw another doc today and there are multiple courses of action he could have given me but did not even mention. He told me a test doesn't exist when it does!! I can not explain enough how awful this experience was. If you want to leave the clinic crying this is the doc for you.

I put 3 stars, but don’t know yet if this is correct. They did close 2 years ago 2019, and the doctors Whalen , and the other 2 mentioned, moved to other locations. Since then, the clinic has reopened with different doctor(s). The sign on the door say they take new patients, but they are not walk-in. Appears to be just one doctor.

I have always had good experiences at this clinic. Yes sometimes the receptionists are not overly friendly... But they are also not rude. I'm sure they are just tired of impatient people.. Or being asked "is it my turn yet" by the same person 8 times. It is a walk in clinic .. There will be wait times. If you don't want wait times... Get a Regular family doctor and book appointments. All of the doctors are kind and have never rushed me or made me feel unimportant.

Can never get through the lines and after one hour trying, your put on hold. Then a rude receptionist named Jodie answered who stated that they would never of made a telephone appointment between 9-10 am. Finally after speaking with the receptionist lead Maryanne I was told their office is very busy and have no other alternatives to answer phones faster other than to put more phone lines in. Again conflicting stories of when my doctor was going to call. I wish my doctor never moved from Bridlewood. Rude staff and can’t get through the phone lines and if you use the portal you can’t make in office visits.

Horrendous wait times, and incredibly rude staff. Love my family doctor here who I've been seeing for years but that's the ONLY reason I'd ever waste my time here. The receptionist has always been very unpleasant (for YEARS) and somehow she's still there. I've been waiting for almost three hours so far and I've heard the doc I'm waiting for discussing furniture with another patient and wasting time. Informed them that I'm literally going to have an anxiety attack waiting (came in for an anxiety med script refill) and they brushed me off with such am attitude. They'll also gouge you with every cost they can. They also don't take interac so be prepared to have to use the ATM, which will charge you even more. If you can avoid this clinic PLEASE do so. It's not worth the long waits and awful staff.

The current phone number does not ring through to the Stittsville Medical Clinic. I'm sure this is equally troublesome for the receptionist who is receiving these erroneous calls.

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Much nicer than any other walk in I've been to. There was a one hour wait which is not surprising I guess. I was prepared for that. Dr. Evans was very friendly, helpful, knowledgable and efficient.

Finally after 2 hours of waiting, we saw the doctor. He was nice and very professional. By the end, my mom was exhausted and shaky because her low blood- suger level. I am also a health worker for 20 years. Can't believe how rude the receptionist is! Her personal manner is so bad and should be fired in my opinion.

Wait was 2 hours, not the max one hour I was told. Unfortunately that wasn't the worst of it. My daughter is now off to hospital because that is only place open. Doctor prescribed over the counter cream without looking at the problem area. Seriously? I wait two hours and he doesn't even bother to look? He told us our family doctor could do tests and was paid a lot of money to be our family doctor and to go see him. Since I waited two hours at 1.5 hours I decided to put my health card in to see if I could get a massage note. I was told by doctor to go and get it from the front girl. The Girl said she could write 'massage' on note but it would be 20 dollars CASH only. I told her to REMOVE my name from register since doctor didn't see me and I would not be paying for HER to write me a note. Painful experience, waiting while my wife takes daughter to hospital.

Have been going to the clinic since it opened. Very pleased with the service and staff. There are times when I have to wait, but it's worth it. For the person who said the doctors took his friend first... I've gone in and put my name in for an appointment. If the wait time is long I go outside, and said in the walkwAy overlooking the store Or I might even go to the pharmacy, then go back and wait in the clinic. For people waiting who came in after me, it might seem as though I passed ahead of them when in fact I was there earlier.

Always have good experiences here. Yes, wait times can be long but thats to be expected at any walk-in clinic. Docs are always friendly and professional, they listen to their patients and do their best to to help. Often prefer this clinic over my family doc.

😠 The doctors are generally nice. But it takes a really long time to see a doctor or get results back. The desk staff is almost always horrible. when you call they're often rude and they never pickup the phones, or you wait on hold forever and then they just hangup on you and dont call back. Also, it...
