I was walking in today for an eye exam, and I knew I was going to need new glasses. I hate shopping for new glasses because I never know what to go with, I feel awkward, and I always feel overwhelmed. I had the pleasure of Sophie helping me, and she was great! Sophie was fantastic to work with. She was so friendly, kind, helpful, and informative. She made my experience today easy, quick, and enjoyable. Sophie helped me feel comfortable, and she also gave great advice and opinions on choosing my new glasses. I highly recommend this Laurier Optical location, and I highly recommend Sophie!

Looking for a new pair of glasses, I found this store very good. They have a wide range of prices, models, and discounts. What made my experience even better was the customer service. The person who received me was informative and incredibly kind. Something I notice from other similar stores is that they are “breathing behind your neck”, making pressure in you too. Here, was the opposite. I felt very good. Thank you Christina for guiding me and being such an amazing customer service representative.

I’m making this review on behalf of my mom, Sally Mitchell. The screw holding up her glasses frame unknowingly broke inside her glasses and after going around to see if someone can fix it, she was sent to Laurier Optical in the Rideau Centre. She was met with outstanding service by a worker named Bruna. As per my mom, Bruna was very polite and helpful throughout the whole service. I’ll be very happy to recommend this location to anyone looking for glasses or glasses repair :).

The price of the eyeglass of my son is a bit expensive. The frame is on 80% off but the total of all the expenses having a new eyeglass is 439$. Sophie the lady working there last saturday she is very helpful and accomodating. She is approachable and explains really well. Thank you Sophie more power on your work

Really good service here, Karine took her time to make sure that the frames I chose were a good match for my face and made me look good! She also fixed my current glasses so they don’t slide on my face as much while I wait.

The five stars are for the quick-thinking, professional and gracious actions of the team at Laurier Optical. I landed in Ottawa for a three-day business trip only to find out that I forgot to bring extra daily contacts or glass! I didnt realize this until after I threw away the one pair I had landed with. Sigh. With my husband guiding me to the shop, I told the team my issue and they found a suitable replacement in minutes. I could see clearly again! Kindness is so rare, but you will find it here ❤️.

Good customer service! You don’t feel alone when you enter the clinic. From the beginning to the end of my appointment I was treated like a queen lol. They have like more than four beautiful receptionists all willing to help and serve you. I was specially helped by Hülya, she helped me choosing my glasses cause I had two choices and she was really kind and patient. The last comment but not the least, Doctor Yaacoub is professional and very kind. It was fun to exchange with him while he was checking my eyes. I deeply and highly recommend the place! Dr. Lim and the front desk staff are very professional, efficient and polite. They have a large selection of glasses and options, more than an other store I have visited previously. Very important, they answer quick to my requests and most of them speak French. I definitely recommend !

Great and friendly staff. I went in hoping to get a frame of glasses I bought a while ago repaired. Not only did they did a great job repairing them, but they did it promptly and were of great help the whole time. Definitely will come back in the future once I need a change of glasses.

I've been a few times always had a good experience. Today, I was kindly greeted by Sophie right when I walked in. One of the lens on my glasses had popped out and I needed it to be screwed back in. Sophie was more than happy to help out and two minutes later I was all set. She even noticed that the arms of my frames were a little loose and tightened those for me without me asking. 5/5, friendly and quick service.

After my toddler got ahold of my new glasses and bent the frame, Hulya saved the day and restored them good as new. I highly recommend this location - excellent service, very quick turnaround, and expert repair skills for when things go wrong.

Wow. Totally impressed w this young lady. Walked in and was immediately acknowledged by someone who was occupied by one lady, directed her co-worker to help me right away which she did. Fixed my glasses in 3.8 minutes for 10 big ones only to decline payment as I held out cash, probably because I am so good-looking or she liked my cologne or some such thing. Went there for an eye exam not long ago. The two front desk ladies were great and one of them did a wonderful job showing me different glasses prior to my exam incase I needed new frames. However, an older lady was extremely pushy about purchasing glasses. My friends who went not long before me complained about the same lady being pushy. I had repeated myself several times to her that I would come back to purchase but she kept pressuring me and bringing glasses for me to try on. I was in fact planning on coming back when I had more time to look for and purchase glasses, but after my experience with this lady, I will purchase else where.

The staff is awful. They blame others instead of being accountable or helpful. I had my vision checked with Laurier but had my prescription filled elsewhere since their prices are outrageous. My glasses came back totally wrong. When I called to get clarification on my prescription, the staff promptly blamed the other store and hung up on me for being rude when I pointed out that blaming others wasn't helpful or professional. Turns out the 1s on my prescription all looked like 7s. Not one person who I showed the prescription to guessed that the 7s were 1s. Laurier then proceeded to ignore my calls. Thankfully, the other eyewear store (Clearly) replaced my glasses FOR FREE even though they weren't to blame for any of it! Now THAT'S excellent customer service.

Great location (Rideau Centre), excellent staff. It's convenient that they have a Doctor available on certain days for eye exams. During my appointment, I was helped by Karine when choosing frames and lenses. Very knowledgeable and very professional; Thanks Karine. My glasses were ready in a weeks time (much earlier than I had anticipated) and the Laurier Optical personnel at Rideau expertly adjusted them to ensure the best fit for me. Thanks everyone.

I went in to get a frame adjustment and I was warmly welcomed by Bruna and Sarah, who attended to my every need promptly and asked follow-up questions to make sure the glasses fit properly after adjusting. Excellent customer service from beginning to end!

I had an eye exam here, and got a prescription. I've since ordered contacts from here and from other websites. The customer service at this location is not that great (most notably the receptionist) so, I've decided to order online from now on and I save about 30% compared to in store. The added bonus is that there's no more waiting around. One time I had an appointment here and waited almost 1 hour extra. Don't waste your time!

Experience with the optometrist was great, but the support staff might leave something to be desired. Very pushy about making a purchase of glasses (made me very uncomfortable), and ultimately chose to purchase elsewhere. Record keeping also leaves something to be desired. Even after you express you've moved on, they keep calling you to drum up business. That being said, the eye exams are very affordable, so this place was key when I was still a student. But, it was time to head elsewhere.

I have been a client for years and I have been receiving good service. There is a good selection but the frames on the high end in terms of prices. I appreciate the discounts even if the end result is still a bit high. The staff is friendly and is ready to explain when you have questions. Covid 19 measures are respected, which add to the enjoyable experience.

By far some of the best customer service I’ve ever dealt with. The whole team went out of the way to assist me as well to guarantee that I got what I needed. I will definitely be back whenever I need optical assistance and I highly recommend future customers to shop at this store.

I went for the typical eye exam a less then a year ago, when I got my prescription glasses I didn't think they were correct but I tried to give myself time to adjust. I just went to get my eye exam redone at a different place and I was right, the perscription I was given from Laurier optics was wrong. The people were friendly and the prices are great, but it sucked to have to redo an eye exam less then a year later and struggle with incorrect glasses in the meantime.

Had a great experience here, would definitely recommend! Prices on contacts and glasses are hundreds cheaper than my usual eye doctor, and the optometrist did a way more thorough exam as well.

This is my second time getting an eye test and new glasses here! My experience this time was just as excellent as the first. The staff are all super friendly, helpful and attentive. They actually make the experience fun! I also felt totally safe, with the extra covid measures in place. Would recommend to anyone!

As a first time glasses buyer I didn’t know much about the process. They thoroughly went through all of my options while explaining the differences between the different lenses that would work with my prescription.  They helped me get the best deal for my budget and helped me pick out frames I absolutely LOVE.  I will definitely be returning to this location for future purchases.

I just moved back to the city after a few years and I was relieved when a friend vehemently assured me they weren't going here. Hopefully they've made changes, but it sounds like they haven't. When I was here last I was on my second broken pair--one lasting not a year, the other just over 2. My second and last pair broke at the bridge, snapped right in half when I was cleaning them. Laurier told me my only option was to get a whole new set. I was working on the computer 8-9 hours at a time and the tape holding the frame together for the entire week I had them blocked my centre vision. My new glasses came in wrong. They somehow forgot my very prominent astigmatism. So another week or so for a new pair. I was p***ed. So their solution for the inconvenience? Take my lenses and put them in a discounted pair to borrow. I was able to buy them for $40!!! This was very kind but I was livid that this wasn't offered when they saw the state of my glasses-- unbearable without losing a third of my working vision. Bad frames, poor customer service, and high prices. My new glasses from another store are MUCH better. At least they lasted 3 years so far, so I'm happy.

I've been so impressed with the team at this store. I received the most thorough and professional eye exam I have ever had. They took their time to help me find the right glasses for me and when I had a request for frames which were no longer in stock, they flew a pair in from another continent! Highly recommend!

My Doctor explained my condition clearly and gave a complete exam. My fitter covered every possible option and savings and gave good advice. We accomplished a lot quickly. I am very happy!

Great service by the associates. Went there for an eye test and made 6 pairs of prescription glasses because of their good customer oriented service. Will be going back to them.
