Having to visit Ottawa for 2 weeks and leave my ride at home wasn't fun. But then I found RentABike and their great offerings of bikes. I reserved a TCR but my schedule in town changed and I had to slide the rental for a day. That got me into a Defy as the TCR wasn't available. After 3 days on the Defy I was able to swap back onto the TCR for the remainder of the week. This gave me an awesome opportunity to compare features of the 2 bikes which were more different then expected. Both strong rides for what they were designed to do and a lot of fun. I was able to have some good workouts on the Gatineau Parkway (was closed to vehicles) as well as ride the regions extensive bike paths. RentABike has been an awesome find and I can't wait for my next trip to town. Everyone there is super friendly and knowledgeable of bikes and the region. I really appreciated their flexibility and accommodation of my rental request to try their highest offering, yeah I lucked out when the TCR became available! It doesn't matter what you are renting this is a top notch outfit that they should all be very proud of being part of. Definitely a highly recommended bike rental shop.

My partner and I rented two pathway comfort bikes to tour the city given its convenient location. The bikes were in excellent condition with amazing service! We forgot to return one of the lock keys at first and the staff was very nice about it. Would totally rent again there and recommend!

They had a wide array of bikes for any size, and incredible instructors/guides. This establishment can comfortably deal with big groups such as schools or clubs, and also sell drinks and snacks just in case you forgot any!

If you are after a quality modern bike for any purpose I'm sure you'd find one here to rent. Which is refreshing as rent bikes are usually a bit rubbish. I rented a road bike which was setup very well and suited me doing 140km over the weekend, I even had my type of pedals fitted, so bring your shoes. The bike had two bottle cages fitted. Next time I might make sure I bring a multitool and spare tube as I was going so far. The highlight for me was the closed roads in the Gatineau (pictured) which for a keen cyclist is a must, so ask about it. Ottowa has extensive cycle lanes which are also amazing and a great way to get about the city (also pictured). I would 100% visit here again next time I'm in town. Small feedback as an enthusiast: tyres were probably 20psi too much making bumps bone shaking, fatter tyres usually dictate lower psi.

Had to rent a more versatile bike for 100km on the trans-canadian trail. Very responsive staff, quick service and great selection. Either ask or bring a bell for the bike.

Amazingly helpful and kind staff, who quickly and without ado, helped outfit four of us to get on the road for a lovely day of biking. Great that they give you flexibility to keep the bikes for as short or as long as you want and just pay for the length of time you kept them once you get back. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Fantastic experience. Rented a higher end road bike and all I had to bring was my kit and shoes. Everything else was provided for a reasonable price. Answered emailed questions quickly and bike was ready when I arrived. Bike was in great condition and Harry himself helped me out. A ton of signed bike paths leading to some classic Gatineau road rides. Will be back.

Super friendly staff, and some of them know quite a bit about proper bike fitting. Good quality bicycles and lots of variety. Excellent central location and flexible return times. I had a repeat issue whereby bikes that I thought I had booked were not available when I arrived to pick them up, hence the imperfect rating despite otherwise good service. Based on a few exchanges with the owners, I think they have fixed the issues that were causing this, so I've edited this review. If you book online using their form, I suggest also calling ahead to make sure they received it.

I stopped by Rent-a-Bike in need of a repair. I was extremely grateful that the repair was done quickly and very capably.( Big shout out to Jill!) While there, I was amazed by their wide selection of quality bikes along with all of the cycling extra's you might want. If you are looking to rent-a-bike in Ottawa, this is your place!

Took a bike tour during the beginning of the season. Tour guide Harry was very knowledgeable and the route was amazing. Saw some Ottawa landmarks I would never have been able to see on foot. Lots of biking but lots of rest time to look at the spots and take photos as well. Felt very safe as the route was clearly chosen to have less traffic and be bike friendly. If I am ever back in Ottawa I would love to take another tour.

The location is perfect for those looking to explore the beautiful Rideau Canal, picturesque Dowe's Lake, and the lively Mooney's Bay. The rental process was seamless and efficient and the price was reasonable.

We were thrilled with our bike tour and guide, Harry! This was our third day in Ottawa and we wanted to see some pieces of the city we would not otherwise access on foot. Harry took our family (two boys 10 and 13) through a variety of neighbourhoods, including Rockcliffe Park - he discussed the history and architecture with us. Routes taken were safe and as non-cyclists, we managed to cover a good distance on their comfortable bikes!

Rented some e-bikes to ride around the city and into Gatineau. There are lots of trails and bike paths around. We had a great time. The bikes worked well. Staff were very friendly and got us on our way quickly. Just as a note they do require a substantial deposit that is refunded on return. They provide helmets and bike locks as well. We would definitely rent from here again.

Great bike rental in Ottawa! I rented a road bike and did the longer 60k Gatineau Park ride. It was very beautiful and definitely worth checking out! My guide was awesome and we had a great ride even in the torrential rain and thunderstorm that rolled in. I would definitely ride with them again if I’m ever back in Ottawa!

Very impressed with the quality of bike that I rented. Took it to Montebello and M’ont Tremblant for a few days and made me feel like a good intermediate rider on my first time doing mountain biking! 😁👍

Rented E-bikes with my two boys to discover Ottawa’s wonderful bike trails. Service is super nice! And the quality of the bikes is top-notch. There’s a map with a QR code that will open up the bike path in Google maps, making it easy to follow the path you selected. We enjoyed our experience so much that we returned the following day to rent the same bikes and go on a different route.

Harry and Jill are simply the best. I travelled to Ottawa for work and contacted them via email to book a month-long rental. Eveything was smooth from pick up to drop off. They have an awesome line up of bicycles all tuned up with locks and helmets. They close end October for winter but Harry accommodated my request to drop off the bike at his place after I was done. Oh and did I mention that the price was simply a steal for long rentals.. all in all perfect. I’d rate them 15 out of 10 if I could.. that’s how smooth everything was.

Great experience. Renting and returning the bike was smooth and efficient. Came, grabbed our bike after leaving some information and off we went. Came back, returned the bikes and we promptly paid and left. The bike itself was smooth and served our purpose. Much better than the bike I personally have at home.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the bikes and the service. The staff was very nice and happy to help suggest routes. We rented pathway bikes and they were in excellent shape and working condition.

Family of 5. We rented bikes on a Saturday. The lady who rented us the bikes was awesome. She knew exactly what we wanted and gave us a map of where we could go. We rode the canal to Dow's Lake. It was hot so I asked if there was somewhere we could stop to cool off and she guided us to a wading pool on the way. Kids had a blast. Would definitely do this again.

They were super helpful. With bike route selection, choosing a bike, helping get me to the right trail. Instead of just pointing the way, they let me follow a group that was headed my direction. The bike was in perfect condition. I rented an ebike. They also seemed to have more types of bikes to select from than other places I checked. The only challenge was finding them, since they are under a bridge. Highly recommend

I'm an Ottawa resident who rents bicycles from Rent-A-Bike for some major bike trips and when my regular bike is in the shop for repairs. I love the trying out their different selection of bicycles including higher-end bicycles. Rent-A-Bike also has good hours compared to other bike shops. Great location literally at the centre of Ottawa and its bicycle network.. It's also nice to have the owner in the shop. Harry and his team always take good care of me :)

Last stop for bike rentals in the city. Quick, easy process that requires a credit card. Plenty of bicycles to choose from, including electric bikes, all come with drink holders, helmets and steel U-locks. Only 90$ for a week long road bike rental. Excellent quality, look no further.

Great service and bike tune up. More expensive than some other tune ups I’ve taken my bike to, but with RentABike I know my bike is getting a careful, quality tune up and the staff will put in the effort to make my bike as good as new.
