We went to visit her for the first time yesterday with my daughters and I find that there is animal cruelty. The calves are only 3 days old and are separated 48 hours from their mother. For them to produce milk, this is a total dispatch knowing that the first months are the most important for any living being. The approach of showing this as normal is inhumane. More than the girl who was present explaining she told us that the calf could get sick if she drank milk directly from the cow ??? and that it was the best for both of them. I perceive this as the cow is a machine to produce milk and have children and then take them away from her and she continues to produce milk.... don't you have rights over her feelings? about attachment with calves? . Horrible experience that they want to completely normalize something that is not natural.

It was a fun excursion with my son who's 7. Most of the indoor interactive exhibits were closed (including pushing buttons on exhibits so he lost interest quickly. It is paid parking. There is a lunch room with tables indoors or outdoors so you can eat If you bring your own lunch. Outdoor park for the younger kiddos.

Canada Agriculture and Food Museum known as Central Experimental Farm is a very nice, organized, well maintained farm. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They had an ice cream activity today and a kitchen activity (making strawberry scones). My 4 children and I enjoyed our visit! Horses, cows, lama, poultry, ducks, rabbits, and much more! The farm also includes a park with a play structure, picnic tables and washrooms. Paid parking is available as well. Safe and sanitary with sanitizer stations and some water stations as well. Lovely and interesting place to visit with your children!

Great green place. Especially in the begining of the spring. Around end of April or first week of May. That time flower trees open with pink and white flowers. Highly recommend that place

The gardens of the experimental farm have been planted and maintained with meticulous care. There are definitely some professional landscapers at work here. The flower beds always look fabulously. This is a wonderful place for a walk and taking photographs. There is no admission. The gardens are off Prince of Wales drive across from the Arboretum.

In spring and summer this is a magical location to walkabout and take in a vast variety of nature's blooms.

One of the best museums in Ottawa. So many fun interactive exhibits for kid’s and fun for adults. The staff are incredibly friendly and will answer all your questions.

Wow! I think that you need more than a day here, my brain is overloaded. The animals were so much fun, the goats are hilarious. I also enjoyed learning about canola and bees as well as other things to do with agriculture. A big thank you to Jess.

Awesome place to spend an afternoon and see so many farm animals. Many opportunities to learn as well. I'd definitely recommend a visit here with family and small kids.

I very much enjoyed this museum. Sadly I attended with 4 very young boys, who believed the best way to see everything was as fast as possible… I recommend taking your time and learning a bit more about the animals… they are pretty awesome. There were pigs as big as cows and cows as big as elephants. But they are all beautiful.

Went with my kid's school on a field trip here and the kids loved it. Lots of open space for them to be wild and crazy, and lots of interactive things to play with. Every kid there seemed to live the rector driving simulator! Lots of animals to see and it's all in a fairly compact space so you're not walking for miles and miles. Strongly recommend a visit!

My children love animals very much in this place. It is a good place where there are some children's toys and some old agricultural collectibles

Beautiful place to spent the day learning about Canada's agriculture and farming. Also wonderful for interacting with animals. Apart from all the animals and plants, it has as a very good park. Specially for kids, it is a very nice place to go.

Recently biked through experimental farm pathway loop. I really liked the biking path as no vehicles around and scenic view. I found that the best time is morning between 6 - 9 or if in the evening, couple of hours before sunset as it won't be that hot (again depending on the day if it's too hot or sober)

Husband and I recently got married this August and because of covid I couldn't take many pictures elsewhere. On that note, my daughter and I came here to take pictures of myself in my dress.. Even though the flowers were not present, my pics were beautiful. This place is amazing for wedding pictures and even prom pics

Fun even for little kids. Lots of stuff to do and animals to see. The animals seem happy which is great. My little one cried because the cow moo'd too loud but I won't take any stars away for that. Highly recommend but I wish parking was free

The central experimental farm is a very beautiful place to visit. Especially if you're someone who likes taking pictures like myself. It has lots of nice spots to take some of the coolest photos for the gram(Instagram) LOL. Also, if you have kids, it has a farm animal side where the kids can supposedly see, play and feed the animals(we didn't visit this side, so I don't have much information). The only downside for me though was the sunflower field, which was what we originally went there to see. Apparently there's supposedly a sunflower field on this farm, but we spent almost the entire day walking and searching for it, but never came across any. And to make things worse, we had no one to ask for information or direction as to if the sunflower field exists there and where to it. Overall, I was a little disappointed after our visit. But still a nice place to go.
