Well if you have some kids or grandchildren and happen to be around this area of town and have some time to spare for the kids.. then stop in and let them have a bit of fun.. this is quite a large playground with modern play structures and a lot to do for the little ones.. they will not get bored very easy.. and on the plus side there is the beach located just down the path another couple minutes if it's the season that is.. but over all we have had a lot of fun at this playground with the little ones and we don't ever find it overly busy or crowded.. but as with any playground please whatch your children closely.. there can be child bullies and pushy parents....

July 2021 awesome park. Lots of play structures, beach nearby, boating area. Decent parking. This park with its current play structures were built as part of Canada's 150th birthday. There was a television show called Giver150 that aired a segment on this park.

Largest outdoor playground in Canada built in cooperation with the Giver TVO show for Canada's 150th celebration. Great playground with plenty to do for kids up to 12 years old. Bring a picnic basket and you could spend the entire day here. If you get bored, walk further down and take in the beach at Mooney's Bay. Paid parking between 7am to 6pm but free parking for up to 1 hour is available on the other side of Hog's Back Road at Hog's Back Park. Cross over safely via the under-pass. Do not try to cross Hog's Back Road as vehicle traffic is extremely high.

Love this park! The only thing to keep in mind is if you have multiple young kids, it’s hard to keep them grouped together with a playground this large.

All the family could possibly need and more! 50+ different kids play structures, a beautiful beach, lots of large trees for shade, picnic tables, washrooms. Note there are 2 parking areas and one is much closer to the beach so if that's your plan go to that parking lot! This park was built to commemorate Canada's 150th. No wonder it's so awesome, play structures for all ages from infant to teenager.

I really enjoy spending my time here and watching the sunset, but yesterday, I forgot to bring my safety vest. I searched all around the beach to rent a safety vest, but I couldn't find one because this beach is not supervised

Many playstructures. The downside is the lack of trees around structures to create shade!

This is a stand out park.... probably the best one I've seen after 2 yrs living in Ottawa. There are fun things in all corners and it's well maintained. It's fun to visit hog's back falls and this park on an outing with the kids. There is a path under the busy road vs crossing through it. There is also pirate's life boat performance for kids on the path of that is of interest. Do bring snacks for birds if you want extra fun for kids. Stroller friendly. No splash pad.

After a long bike ride, there's plenty of benches to relax on. The pirate ship is also a plus.

Fun playground! Such a large area which allows social distancing between families. Many different stations with different thematic keeping it entertaining for kids. Large grass Areas for picnic for families. Would be nice to have way more picnic tables however . Some shade thanks to older trees. No water feature. Needs some shade for the modules as it can get very hot, including the metal slides and metal climbing structures. Parking $2/hr

My kid watched the Givers show and TVO Kids and wanted to visit the park. We had a lot of fun guessing which Province and Territories were represented.

Made with LOVE for Ottawa. This playground was created for Giver 150 (a series for TVOkids). We had 60 kids and over 500 volunteers help design and build this playground over 2 months in 2016. Despite many challenges, rain, protests (?), hot weather, flooding, and more.. countless volunteers and kids showed up with the goal to finish Canada's Biggest Playground. Hoped that there would be signage that recognized the hard work put into this playground and that one day The City of Ottawa will put this up on the signs and recognize all the kids and volunteers and community members who donated their time. Happy to see the playgrounds' legacy and read all these wonderful reviews. <3

Awesome playground!! We went two days in row because my daughter loved it so much. The beach is very nice with lots of shaded area. Water is shallow so it’s great for small kids.
