Tried this place for the first time and wow, their chicken katsu blew me away!! It was crunchy and the chicken was juicy and perfectly cooked. The coating was perfectly crispy and tasty. Those potato croquettes were also sooooo amaaaaaaazingggg! Next time I’m gonna order more of those!

Delicious, authentic Japanese food! I ordered their tonkatsu bento & chicken gyudon and both were delicious. I never thought a chicken and rice bowl could impress me, but they’ve definitely done that. I even ordered it again via delivery and it was just as tasty. It’s located in the most obscure building, but close by Dominion Aboretum which is the loveliest place to bring take-out to for a picnic! I called the staff for guidance on directions and they were extremely pleasant and helpful. Would definitely order from again.

The best new authentic Japanese takeout in Ottawa! I’m from Barrhaven and it was a 15 minute distance for an authentic food. Loved the Tonkatsu pork and it makes me willing for more! I highly recommend you try this new Japanese takeout and you will come again!

Picked up lunch here and tried the tonkatsu bento and gyudon. Both were freshly made and tasty. The tonkatsu bento came with rice and a few sides with sauce on the side, and the Katsu was very crispy but a bit greasy. I think it was about time for an oil change in the fryer. The gyudon was delicious, topped with thin slices of marbled beef and sweet onions over perfectly cooked rice. Staff are nice and very efficient. I recommend you check out their website for instructions on how to get into the building since you have to go around back and through a security fence. The location is right there when you walk through the doors to the building.

Note!!! These guys are inside the building. So to get it you have to enter the parking lot (press the button to open the gate!) and then park in visitor parking. You may have to tell the person you are here for unit 150. Loved the pork and kimchi gyudon and the yakisoba was super comforting. Gonna come back and try out the doburi.

The food here is Amazing! I started ordering food from this restaurant about 2 months ago by chance and I am so glad I gave it a try! There was once a mix up with one of my orders where a Skip driver picked up and brought me the wrong order by accident, but the lady at the restaurant really did her best to handle the situation. The customer service is top notch, and most importantly the food is too! The chicken katsu is so crispy, juicy and perfect! The chicken teriyaki and beef donburi are delish. This is a new top favorite restaurant in Ottawa. Highly recommend it!

Takedon caters our company lunches, they're always so delicious and they really pay attention to special requests like food allergies and personal preferences. This week's selections includes the off-menu Pokedon (sashimi salmon donburi) and Fried Chicken Katsu bento. Dessert options are Taiyaki and Black Sesame Cheesecake.

I ordered this on ubereats and was not disappointed. Food is very fresh. They even packaged the fried food separately from the curry so it does not get sogggy. I lived in East Asia for a long time and this is pretty spot on. It's a shame I discovered this as soon as I was moving back to Korea.

The salted pork over rice was amazing, it had a citrus vinaigrette that just added to the smoky charcoal fried pork. The Gyu-don was also delicious with caramelized onions and super tender beef, the seasoned eggs were a little plain but a perfect soft egg.

Donburi was delicious delicious delicious! Well represented and deep in taste, I would say this is their signature food. I highly recommend others to try Donburi out. Their Takoyakis are great as well, please try them out also! However, the donkatsu was mediocre. It was dry and overall lacked taste.

I'm usually underwhelmed by Asian restaurants in Ottawa. Many are good, for Ottawa, but Takedown is good, period. I have had lunch there a couple times now and always enjoyed it. Their tonkatsu and chicken katsu are crispy without being oily, the little vegetable sides are delicious, and the torched pork with scallions has a unique subtle flavour. The location is tricky to access but worth it!

We ordered a bunch of things, maybe because the review, I had higher expectations. The food is mediocre, just like most Japanese places in Ottawa. The beef was quite fatty. Service is fast and well packaged for takeouts. Good to support local business, but I wouldn’t call it exceptional.

I ordered the Pork Katsu Curry, Gyudon Beef Donburi and the tofu curry with a couple of healthy meal upgrades and Takoyaki. All were absolutely delicious and portions were generous! I will definitely be back.

Heard about this place from BBC and finally got a try. The gyudon beef is so tender and tasted just like Yoshinoya’s in the Japan. The teriyaki chicken is so flavorful too. The place is in an office building and unfortunately has no dine in.
