Doctor Walk in clinic

😠 This place is a joke. I tried to walk in two days in a row and they turned me down both times, once because they were “fully booked” even though it’s supposed to be a walk in clinic, and the second time was “sorry I have no doctors that can see you today” so yeah please for your own good never come... People often mention clinic, walk, told, doctor, appointment, receptionist, hours, called, service, phone,

I went in on a Monday and they had a sign posted on the door saying that they were not accepting anymore walk-ins for that day. I went and asked the receptionist and she said no, but you can come back tomorrow at 9am & it’s first come, first serve. I returned the next day to another note on the door saying that walk-ins weren’t allowed as they had no doctor in that day. The receptionist said I could fill out a form and come back again the next day. I returned again on Wednesday at 9am again and was told that I could come for 12pm, booking me in for an appointment - which is the opposite of what I had been told numerous times, and is the reason I came early every day. An hour later they called me saying they had to move my appointment to 2pm, (which I wouldn’t be able to make due to work). So after 3 days of going in, I was not given a single moment of care. The receptionist was quite rude and ill-mannered, nobody was giving the correct information, and not one part of this facility is “urgent”.

I had a great experience as a walk in patient. The receptionist was super nice and didn't mind giving updates regarding wait time. Dr Dionne was also super nice, he took all my concerns seriously and ensured that he ordered all required tests to rule out any concerns.

They claim to be “first come first serve” yet I’ve seen SEVERAL people that were here after me go before me. This is absolutely absurd and beyond unacceptable. I will NEVER be back to this awful place. Horrible reception as well, they were extremely rude. If I could give negative stars for this place I would. Next time actually let your patients know how long the wait is going to be so I can come back or actually make an appointment.

This shouldn't be labeled as a walk in clinic. This used to be my "go to" place for walk in visits but the last 3 visits I got turned away. They have weird hours for the walk in service. Today I arrived early to be seen...only to be told the walk in hours don't start until 5pm??? The time before this, I arrived just a little after opening, only to be told the walk in service was full, even though it had barely been opened for half an hour. Inconsistent, often closed, don't come here for walk in, it will be a waste of your time.

Hours posted on Google aren't accurate, check their website to verify. Had an issue actually getting in here, make sure to call in ASAP when they open to get a spot for the day, it was a pain to get in. That said, the wait when I showed up was very reasonable, and the doctor was wonderful. I would recommend him to anyone, he was very upfront, good at listening to me, and offered alternative ways to help he knew would be more effective than what I was asking for. Update: Receptionist is just awful, I won’t be coming back. I’ve been there multiple times and they keep changing their policies and it’s so inconsistent. Before I was told to call at open, now they insist you have to walk in only. I was asking about this and the way it was communicated was extremely condescending and rude.

Good luck getting in there anytime. It's like Russian roulette....the hours change on a whim, the waiting room is usually full, they say "phone", but the story has changed when you get there...most frustrating clinic from hell. Do yourself a favor and go wait 10 hours at the Civic emergency dept., at least you will eventually see a doctor. All that said, if you are lucky enough to get in one day and see Dr. Dionne, he is tops, as are some of the others I saw there in the past when they had nite hours. But getting in is like the lottery -- your chances are slim, and you'd better not have a job or a life that interfere with your efforts to track down a slot. Good luck with the receptionists, who have been as nasty to me as any humans anywhere on the planet.

Tried calling in on a Thursday to make an appointment for a call with a doctor. Was told no doctors were in today and to call tomorrow morning. So I called Friday morning and was told to just go see my personal physician. When I said I didn't have one the same lady who does the menu options for the phone message told me that none of the doctors there can help with mental illness or give prescriptions for anti-depressants... are they not doctors? Anyways this place was recommended to me by people who 100% got anti-depressants prescriptions from this clinic so I'm not sure why I was told such a thing :'(

Advertised as a walk in clinic. They're doing virtual appointments only. NO WALK-INS!! It's horrible when you're sick and just need a doctor. They should indicate this on their website!

Front desk was amazing. I emailed for an appointment and then called a couple hours later and the receptionist was kind and understanding. Really appreciated it! The doctor was also great.

I showed up to find a note on the door to tell me to walk all the way around through Loblaws to the other entrance. Once I arrived at the Loblaws entrance I was greeted with another note on the door, informing me they are only performing virtual appointments from home. Without discussing the validity of this asinine concept; virtual appointment with a physician, I can't understand how this clinic helps anyone who requires medical attention. I also think I read they do not prescribe medication.

I have been trying for 3 weeks to get in touch with anyone in that office to increase the dose of my medication. No matter what day of the week or time of day, no one picks up.

My experience with college square medical centre was so comforting and put my mind at ease. They require you to phone in first to assess if a phone appointment or in-person appointment is required. The receptionist I talked to was very accommodating and was able to schedule me an appointment as soon as possible, which happened to be the next morning. I saw Dr. Hack who was so understanding and helpful. She listened to all my symptoms and explained everything clearly. Overall a great experience. Please be patient and kind with our medical staff and doctors.

Paranoid front desk lady. Went there to accompany my wife for immunization. Asked me to wait outside(not even in the waiting area) of the clinic as I didn't have the mask. When I asked for a mask, she refused. I don't have issue with wearing mask but a prioritizing a few cent's worth of mask over being rude and throw the patient's company out shows how they are gonna be with others. Never going there!

A walk in clinic that refuses to accept walk in patients???? If you do not want to accept walk ins do not call yourself a walk in clinic. And being told to call the next day to book a walk in appointment then being told the next day you are full 5 minutes after opening. How lazy are the stuff members here that they are refusing health care to anyone even trying to follow their weird make an appointment to walk in rules!!!

The website mentions to call prior to walking in. That said I have called about 10 times today and no one ever picked up the phone. Could you please let me know how to best proceed from here to see a doctor?

Been here since 9 am and it’s currently 1:07 pm. I was told at 11:31 am that I was the next patient to be seen. After 3-4 people go in and my name still isn’t called I was trying to figure out why my name still hasn’t been called when these people that are getting called in have showed up several hours after me, and still being seen before me. This is completely unacceptable. The dark skinned women who runs reception is super disrespectful and blunt. She not only publicly embarrassed me by speaking in a tone that’s completely unacceptable. Dr woo tells me she can’t help me because I brought in a sheet that was signed by a doctor stating I needed a medical evaluation to evaluate where I have a complications in my colon and she said. I’m not a doctor that’s experienced to help you with your colon. I’m a walking doctor. So if you’re a doctor and you can’t even help me with my colon then what are you even a doctor for because clearly you don’t know what you’re talking about if you can’t even simply task a colon . Good luck to everyone that comes here.

**MUST CALL & MAKE Appointments for WALK-INS!!** Have gone to this clinic here and there for something like 10-15 yrs. Drs. Are pretty good but there are quite a few at this location day to day...Dr. Dionne is by far one of the Best, concerned and conciderate walk in Drs out there!

The receptionist is terrible. I had my pharmacist send in a request for a prescription refill three times and she said she never received it. On top of it she never answers the phone, so you have to show up and she’s always talked to people on her personal phone or her colleagues!

I've generally had good care from this clinic, but since they now request an email to screen patients prior to visiting, an actual response would be nice.

Phone calls and emails seem to go unanswered at the moment which make it impossible to book a virtual appointment. Hoping this clinic goes back to taking walk-ins in the future. The doctors at this location always provide great service.

I've been going here since I lost my family Doctor. Given the situation with Family Practitioners in Ontario I am happy College Square provides a Walk-in service. Understand the confusion some may see given other medical services, eg Family Doctors, are also provided from the clinic. Not everyone entering the clinic is there for the walk-in service. I empathize with the staff as they can only provide service if there is a Dr available for walk-in patients. My experience is they do follow a 1st come 1st served. With the scarce Dr availability in Ottawa it has to be very challenging for all the staff, and regrettably frustrating for those of us who need to see a Dr. With how how long the wait times are with the other alternative, an Emergency Department at one of our hospitals (ARG) and I am grateful that College Square does provide a walk-in service. Not perfect, but without adequate primary care providers in Ottawa, and Ontario at large, the service is much appreciated. Thank you to the staff and Dr's that provide service to us underserved by our political leaders.

I called this morning to make an appointment for today as early as possible and the women on the phone basically told me it’s first come first serve, that they don’t take appointments.. I’ve seen over 5 people walk in with appointments and 3 people make appointments for later that day…. I ended up waiting for 2h20mins to get in and out… stop giving out wrong information. To add to all of this the doctor I saw claimed that if she didn’t drive from Toronto this morning that no one would of been seen today… like excuse me?

Why do you claim to be open until 7pm but lock the door and don’t let anyone in at 5:30pm? Don’t make the trip here unless you call and confirm they actually feel like taking someone.

Front desk staff was very helpful, kind and accommodating. It's a very busy place so you have to make sure you get there near when it opens but I found it to be quick, convenient and effective

Rude staff-was not even acknowledged by receptionist. She did not even gesture toward the sign I failed to notice, telling people there are no more appointments for the day. Not really a walk-in, you need an appointment.

This place is a joke. They say opening hours start at 9. People have been waiting since before 9am and at 10am the doors are still closed without any notice as to why. When did healthcare become best effort! To make things even worse, they post a note just after 10am that they are not taking walk-ins. Thanks for making everyone wait one hour for nothing.

Don't bother calling this clinic the receptionist is a real piece of work and was so beyond rude it truly is nasty when you have to be so rude and aggressive they close at 5pm but are fully booked by 1pm that's twisted I've never seen loblaws that busy with a 4hrs wait apparently I just can't see it! think you need a change of scenery lady at the front desk 🤷‍♀️

What is the point of having a receptionist in a clinic that just does phone appointments. It seems like the receptionist personal phone conversation is more important than helping someone who has walked in .

I called first thing in the morning to find out if they were taking walk ins I was told yes but it’s a first come first served basis and there are certain cut off times. I made my way to the clinic and got there around 8:00am, when I got there I was helped by the receptionist Kesha. She made the process as simple and smooth as it could get for it being busy. Very polite and helpful.

First time experience with this clinic. Called in the morning to ask if they would are accepting walk-ins. We were told that yes they are. Reached there 30 minutes later. We were told that they are not accepting anymore patients and told us to come back after 4pm that day. Went there at 4:30pm, registered my child around 5pm. We were told that there is 2-3 hrs waiting. We asked if we could come back in 2 hours. They said yes that should be fine. Went back there at 7pm only to find out that they are CLOSED!! They decided to close at 7 instead of 8pm (their regular hours). The clinic had all our information including 2 phone numbers. These are the facts.

It is the worst clinic, i waited for more than 3 hours, but finished in 5 mins no any prescription, i asked a referral to specialist, they kept my 60 dollars and said no every doctor would give patient referral letter, you can come tmr, give another 60 dollars, see another doctor whether willing to give you a referral. when i register with the nurse, i mentioned clearly what i trying to do today is getting referral, if the doctor cannot do that, the nurse should not charged me 60 dollars and wasted my 3 hours for waiting but cannot get services i want.

In December 2023, I was looking for a walk-in clinic in the city to address an urgent medical issue - I did not want to go to the ED because of what I expected would be hours of waiting, but I had never visited a walk-in clinic, did not know what to expect, and was not impressed by the reviews. Not sure why I chose this clinic but when I arrived, there were about 7 people ahead of me - the receptionist was professional and focused on getting the next patient in as soon as a patient finished. Dr. Farzam was attentive and addressed my medical concerns and I was in and out of the clinic within an hour. I plan to return to College Square Medical Center in the future!
