We have been customers of Carling Animal Hospital for over 25 years. We had something come up with our dog over the weekend. I called Monday morning and they were able to see us the same day. They leave slots open every day for the emergency needs of their regular customers. The doctors are all very caring and thorough. We always leave knowing we have received the best care possible.

I’ve brought companion animals to various veterinary clinics over the years, then a friend recommended Carling Animal Hospital, and I’m so grateful that she did. Dr. Saye Clement and the staff at Carling are always professional, they treat you and your companion animals with care and compassion. Both the vet technicians and the staff have been friendly, compassionate, and considerate. Dr. Clement genuinely cares about her patients and takes the time to explain any medical issues and treatment protocol. I have always felt confident bringing my two guinea pigs to the clinic for yearly checkups and care.

Melanie Ellison is THE BESt! I have four Guinea Pigs and she has been treating them for annual check ups and whatnot. She knows her stuff and she is so thorough. I am sooooo happy to have found this establishment. My piggies are in good hands.

The kindest, genuine, consistent staff Ive ever had at a vet hospital. They truly care about you and your pet. Ive been bringing my rat to them for a year and today I had to put him to sleep. I was distraught and scared and they took plenty of time to explain everything- I had a LOT of questions and make things as comfortable as possible. Very good people. Dont hesitate to get services from them.

First time at Carling VeterinaryHospital.. The Dr. Guest was affectionate, gentle, gave me instructions I needed and estimates. My dogs were calm and happy the entire visit. You can tell it is a great place to work because the staff work so well together. Always smiling and very quickly had all my paperwork prepared.

We've been clients of Carling since we moved to Ottawa on 1999. They truly care about the animals who come through their doors. We usually see Dr Clement and she is fantastic. We will truly miss her when she retires. There are other vets closer to home but we continue to drive from the east end of Ottawa for our pets to have the best care. I highly recommend Carling to anyone looking for a vet.

They are all nice, patient, friendly, informative and accommodating. Thursdays appointment for Penny was no exception. They gave us different treatment options, with complete cost breakdowns, which was super helpful. I will continue to bring my current pets and any future pets to this vet clinic. You guys are fantastic. 😊

My basset hound Donnatella Furcase developed an issue with her eye, the team at Carling went above and beyond to help support me through the process of treating, and making informed decisions about her care. Donna ended up needing surgery to remove her eye, which was performed here. The after care was amazing. Renee Tailwagger is her sister, and both are 11 years old. They LOVE their regular visits for nail trims now, and the experience is always wonderful. I feel incredibly confident that I'll be cared for, while my babies receive the best in love and care. In a world of expensive and confusing care, this team does the best job of ensuring everyone's needs are met, and costs are kept minimal and reasonable.

We have a number of animals that are seen regularly at the Carling Animal Hospital. I have found this animal hospital to be quite knowledgeable and compassionate to every single animal I have brought here over the years. We have been seen by several of the doctors at the Carling Animal Hospital and I genuinely have no concern or qualms about anyone there and feel confident in the service we receive from all of the staff - from the receptionists to the technicians to the veterinarians! They've celebrated our victories with us and expressed empathy with us at the appropriate moments. My animals have been to a few different animal hospitals during my time being a pet owner, and since becoming acquainted with the Carling Animal Hospital, we will never go elsewhere! I rarely write in-depth reviews, but I am sharing this out of gratitude and appreciation for this animal hospital and the care they provide to the members of my family that cannot speak for themselves. TLDR; I feel 100% safe coming to Carling Animal Hospital and the staff all demonstrate that they care about my animals just as much as I do.

Very happy with the quality of care from the vets, especially Dr. Valentine. She always answers my questions thoroughly, and never makes me feel rushed. She is caring, has a sense of humour and is very knowledgeable.

Had a scary medical emergency with my elderly cat a few months ago and Carling Animal Hospital were absolute lifesavers. Reception was so friendly and helpful, and Dr. Bascom was incredible. Not only was she very thorough and diligent, but she was also incredibly understanding of my financial situation as a student. My cat is normally so shy and scared of new people, but was immediately calm with her. I’ve never seen such an amazing vet before. Definitely switching to Carling Animal Hospital from now on!

Well, I was temporarily in the city and needed to get my dog up to date with her shots. I mentioned that she was previously bitten by a ticket so they did a quick blood test that same day. Results didn't get too long, under two weeks I'd say.

We just had our initial visit last week. First impression was pretty good, clinic ran a bit slowly but I think they were busy that day. Unfortunately we were dispensed very little medication for a 14 day treatment that ran out on day 3. It's still unclear if the dosing was off or the dispensing was not enough. Ever since we've been calling to try and rectify the situation, get promises of "we will ask the vet" or "we will ask our suppliers" and we never hear back. Thinking of canceling our follow up and trying another practice!

I had the pleasure of having my cat seen by a new member of their staff Dr. Kaitlyn MacLean, she is a very kind individual and clearly a very passionate and knowledgeable veterinarian. She did a wonderful job of explaining her diagnosis of my cat's health concerns, and she also gave me a wonderful overview of the possible outcomes and potential future treatment, as well as other concerns I should look out for. I left satisfied with my cat's treatment and also felt adequately armed with helpful information. The vet tech Jamie was also wonderful and had a particularly good approach to handling my cat, who is very anxious in new places and with strangers. I couldn't recommend this team more highly.

I had to learn they'll call my pets name and not mine. It was like first grade all over again. Super professional service, with informative and dedicated staff. Can't recommend enough. Just know that you'll need to answer to your cat's name more than she does.

Been taking my dog here since she was a few months old!! She’s now 6 and loves her vet appointments with Dr. Bascom and/or Dr. Johnson. The staff and veterinarians are so kind and really care for your pets. I will say their fees are slightly higher than other clinics, but their impeccable care for the animals and client service is worth the extra bucks!! Highly recommend to all.

I had to take my brothers dog and when I took him out my car I couldn’t get a hold of Him in time and he ran across the street! 2 of the staff came and helped bring him inside. I can’t remember the staff names but all of Them are so great and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place. 😇😃

Highly recommend this vet! Front desk staff are welcoming and patient. Vet tech and vets are professional and knowledgeable. My puppy just got a groom there as well, he looks like exactly like my reference photos. Such a great place for a one stop shop.

Dr. Clement is by far the best veterinarian we’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. Over a decade long relationship with her and Carling Animal Hospital and she was always incredible. The staff are professionals that always treat clients and animals with respect and after a recent move to BC, I miss their attention to care and commitment to the pets and clients. Easily one of, if not the best, animal clinic in Ottawa.

Great Vet Hospital. Everything is very clean and well organized. Waiting room is very big so they have small pet area and big pet area. The customer service is very friendly and efficient. The professionals are top! Very friendly, they take very good care doing check-ups, they are not rushing you to get to next client. I absolutely recommend this place!

I have had nothing but the best experiences at Carling Animal Hospital. They always do their best to find out what is wrong with my pet rats and provide excellent care with the utmost compassion and professionalism. When I have had to make the difficult decision to put my pets to sleep, the staff have been so kind and made that painful process as smooth and clear as possible.
