One of our worst escape game ever. Note that we did another escape game in Canada to compare with because we didn’t want to compare only with our French standards. We also completed a survey sent after our experience where we expressed our disappointment and we never received any response. So let’s express this in public. My friends weren’t comfortable in English so we booked an experience in French but the game master started asking us if she could speak to us in English. The sound system used ( talkie) is so bad, it was really difficult to hear what was said. We asked for help we never received but we received clues for an other room. So we guess the game master was supervising multiple games and it affected our experience. We were really surprised with the experience duration : only 45 minutes for the same price than the one hour one we did in Gatineau… Language related thing : the translations were sometimes poorly done and some enigmas were still in English. No photo taken in the end, we were just invited to leave. If you want a good escape game in French cross the river, it was a thousand times better !

Fantastic experience. The atmosphere is on point even before you the to the escape room. The escape itself is pretty well thought out with some intricate puzzles. Would recommend to newbies and avid escape room goers.

Really fun venue, great for small or larger groups. The staff are great: fun, energetic and knowledgeable. The rooms are well organized and supported, our room had a minor glitch with one part not working but as soon as it was reported the staff were present to address it. Highly recommended and we'd all go again!

I did their newest Apothecary room and it was not good. During the experience I encountered a lock that was completely broken wide open and a battery operated tool that was not functioning. I was told that it's a new room and still working out the bugs. Sorry but these things are basic mistakes by the person resetting the room and should have been noticed and fixed. And paying customers should not be treated as beta testers. But the worst thing is that the room had no wow factor. No imagination, build quality was poor and frankly hard to believe Escape Manor would build a room that was so amateurish. Hand drawn cartoon images on the wall, hot glue visible everywhere.

Tried 2 separate rooms with this location to give them a chance. Sadly both rooms were poorly maintained and set up. The rooms and some clues weren’t reset properly which detracted from the experience. Some props were worn so they didn’t work as they were suppose to and misled us. Another group had their puzzle glitch up and not open even though they solved everything correctly. The walkie talkie clue system is also quite bad. Unlike other places, the game master didn’t seem to be following what we were doing in the room and would give hints on things we’ve already completed. Quite upsetting having to listen to a long explanation on things you’ve already done while watching the clock ticking down. They also started the clock as soon as we walked in without a chance to put our things down. Ultimately the few seconds doesn’t really affect the game but still leaves a bad impression.

First time went in this escape manor and second time in my life to escape room. We enjoyed a lot and it was so much fun. I don’t remember which one we did but would definitely like to go again and try to escape in different room. Must go. The staff was nice and pace is great.

The escape rooms here are fantastic, albeit not very accessible. There are several flights of stairs required to get inside, and then once inside, there are stairs in seemingly random places that make it difficult to get into the rooms, especially since I am disabled. However, once I managed to get into the room, I quite enjoyed it. I have done several rooms here, and they are all quite fun. They are of varying themes and difficulty levels, and the staff are kind, interactive, and helpful. The horror-themed room was my favourite, and we were able to do that one on the suggestion of a staff member when we had extra time after finishing Hooked. If the accessibility was better, I would absolutely give five stars, but with my disability, it is quite difficult to actually get into the rooms.

Friendly staff, nice set up. Some of the props/clues/hidden things are getting a little worse for wear, but all functional and no issues. Communication was good and staff was attentive.

The place is awesome amd clean. The escaps room we chose was a mind twist and fun to solve, It's called (The recruit). The team are super friendly and added some excitement to our experience. It's a place that I will return to definitely.

The experience was well ran, and the difficulty was at a satisfying level. Tough to figure out but felt good to accomplish the parts we did. The perfect balance We we’re unable to complete our room, and got a run down of what we had remaining, which was just another 5 mins worth of work and puzzles. Overall a great experience

Came here for a first date - bold, you might say; well, it's a good test to see how well you work as a team, under pressure! Jeremy, our host, was fantastic. The other staff member we met were super friendly. The general decor and ambiance were super cool, our room's (Hooked) was on point, the game itself was really fun. Jeremy let us choose the level of difficulty - no max amount of hints, and we refused a few of his offers to help us to up our challenge. We might have been a bit too stubborn, because we didn't succeed in escaping in time, though we were super close. We were thoroughly pleased with the whole experience and are psyched to do another one soon - it was a great start to a date that ended well and there will be a second one, so thanks Escape Manor Hintonburg for the help!

My brother's and I did 2 rooms, and had a blast. We didn't complete any on our own, but we also asked for very minimal hints. The staff there was amazing, and the layout was well done

High quality, challenging and diverse rooms. The last viewing was an interactive adventure. Very interesting and entertaining. One of the best rooms we've tried.

My first escape room experience was a journey back in time, immersed in a moody atmosphere with velvet and leather furnishings, creating a comfortable and fun setting. Opting for the Wonderland escape room with my partner, we had a blast. The host struck the right balance of being informative yet vague, offering slight clues that added to the adventure. Despite our rush to beat the clock, this cleverly designed room had us stumped at times. Our host, observing behind closed doors, provided hints via walkie-talkies, guiding us further along the challenge. Though we didn't beat the clock, the experience was incredible, filled with laughter. The staff, with their funny, cheerful demeanor, added to the delight. Eager to try again and hopefully conquer the next escape room challenge!

best escape room place! me and my friends had a wonderful time! our host, francesca, was the nicest person ever and she always made sure that we were on the right path. we did the recruit which has a 15% escape rate, there were only 3 of us who did the room and we managed to escape! we had a great time, thank you escape manor-hitonburg! you made our friendsgiving even better!

We did the Hooked room with our 11 and 15 year old daughters and we loved it! Really fun interactive room. Just two clues away from escaping! SO CLOSE. We’ve done a number of rooms with Escape Manor but this was our first time at the Hintonburg location. Highly recommend!!!

We had a great time here! We were a group of 4 and did the recruit! Challenging and rewarding. Unfortunately we did not finish it but we were very close! The host, Rachel, was great! Very accommodating and was able to recommend our next escape event. See you next week !

Staff was friendly and the waiting area is really nice but as for the escape rooms themselves I found the time frame given to solve the puzzles a bit too short as I am used to be given at least an hour and not 45 minutes. I have completed several escape rooms at different places across Canada and this was sadly my least favourite. I came in with two teams each doing a different experience and both teams were not able to escape in the time given due to faulty equipment or confusing instructions. It is nice they give unlimited hints and when we had a broken lock they unlocked the next clue for us but it shouldn’t be the case.

So much fun! Very atmospheric with much thought gone into the puzzles and the room. It is not just about unlocking locks. Staff were wonderful and all of our group loved it. Highly recommend.

Very thoughtful and intricate escape. We did the one with the computer and it was extremely challenging for us newbies. I would like to start with an easier one but this was very impressive and complex. We loved it.

My wife and I have escaped every room that is doable by 2 people. Fun escape center! Some rooms are more challenging than others but they always have some weird twist that throws us for a loop. Great location. Great staff - very enthusiastic.

Wonderland was a great escape room, we beat it with 8 minutes to spare. Staff was excellent, not only are we planning on going again but highly recommend it to anyone who likes puzzles and brain-teasers.

I did the wonderland room and it was really fun! It was a fun challenge and we made it to the last puzzle so we didn’t escape, but a great time nonetheless. Looking forward to going back for the horror room!

The hosts were really engaging and they gave hints that were not too spoilery. We tried "The Final Viewing" and it was challenging without being too convoluted! Would highly recommend the room + location!

Super fun experience!! The staff and our host was super pleasant. We did the recruit room and it was super challenging and fun!! The staff were also super nice and accommodating, I actually went to the wrong location by mistake and they were super kind to let me keep my booking! Would definitely come again.

It was the most amazing experience we had with my partner. We played the game together and it was so much fun! Looking for clues was not too simple and it took us some time to figure things out. We enjoyed every second of it and we definitely will come back.

Love this place! I've done a 2 rooms in the last few weeks and its so much fun! The staff are very kind and good at their job (especially in one of the horror rooms we did where they were super involved in creating the atmosphere/experience). The rooms are also just the perfect amount of challenging. I would highly recommend this place! It might look small from the outside and the inside but when you get in the room it's amazingly immersive.

Although we didn't successfully escape Wonderland this time, we'll definitely be back to try another room! Everything was nicely detailed and definitely immersed you into the theme. The facilities in general are very well decorated, comfortable and friendly. Overall, the best escape room experience I've had so far!
