Lots of new and very much welcomed cardio equipment give the place the tlc it much needed. Worth coming back the gym is looking fresh again. Much welcome the fact scanners can now read barcodes from stocard or equivalent.. So no more forgetting your gym card... Some flickering lights in the gym can cause headaches or more

We arrived one evening at around 5:30pm. Drove straight in and down to the end (almost) just past the bushes and reversed in. Our alko chassis is quite low, but the kerb and grass didn't present a problem. So, it's 3 hours free parking here, to extend it you have to go to reception and input your vehicle registration into the tablet, it's easy peasy. The staff are brilliant so no problems there. I booked my wife a swimming session for 6:40am and that was only £5. That booking classes us as members, so we got 24 hrs free parking (however, please note it's midnight to midnight). There are charging points for electric vehicles and plenty of parking spaces. Due to Covid the toilets and showers were closed but on our last visit, the 19th, all facilities were open. It was a very quiet and hassle free experience. I recommend this place highly.

I went with my child for a family swimming section, we have been booked in the mainly pool by the receptionist member, instead of small pool, that I asked for. There were no compression or understanding from the local staff at the small pool when I explained, the mistake, on the opposite there were two member of staff in the small pool, who made a scene insisting that I get out from the small pool with my child. Well I did as asked and we went to the mainly pool, the water temperature was extremely cold, the kids were visible trembling cold, chatting with other mummies, they were all disappointed with how cold the water was. Honestly, I don’t really recommend the mainly pool for family swimming. I had a horrible experience.

We tried it 3 times. Cause its close to the hospital and a good idea to have a quick break from visiting youre family or friends. Homepage booking is a joke. So not user friendly. Really stupid. Try it you ll see... Come 15 min earlier. Cause 50% of the lockers are broken . So you need a while until you got one working. Bring slippers. Floors are stinky not very clean. Don't book family swim. should be renamed in "yellow swim". I never smelled so much wee inside a pool. We swam for 5 min and had to leave. Disgusting. 2.nd time our bag with goggles got stolen. 15 sec unattended. And gone (by accident or not). The stuff were nice and tried so search and watch cctv ."nothing to see" 2 young boys tried to get in the changing rooms ...without booking...without any bags or swimstuff.... coincidence? Maybe. Lane swim is nice. But very hectic & busy. And to be fair more a social meeting and chatting than swimming. Bit annoying if you want to swim lanes. But if you follow or ignore thoose things... it's okay😉

Signed our 11yr old up for swimming lessons staff were made aware of certain issues, turn up and she had been placed in the baby pool with toddlers needless to say we went straight to the desk where we have to wait days for a refund. Gym isn’t much better there are way too many members and there is simply not enough strength equipment it’s all either in use or broke. For what you get it’s way over priced.

The booking system on the everyone active app is easy to use. Sessions occasionally get filled quickly. You'll then have to be put on a waiting list and get notified if a space becomes available. A swim session cost £5.40 for an adult. A session lasts 55 minutes. If you are planning on swimming at least twice a week I advise that you pay for a swim membership. The pool doesn't have a strong chlorine smell which is good, apparently. Overall it is a decent leisure centre but needs improving. The swimming changing room is often very smelly. I have seen members of staff hosing the floor and wiping the mirrors but I think the changing room needs a deep clean. A lot of the lockers do not work. Either the key gets jammed, the token gets stuck or spits the token out. You have to get a token from reception that costs £1 and is card payment only. Showers are often barely lukewarm. The staff are friendly. Plenty of parking spaces.

The Zumba classes are good now, but the admin and technology are awful. Over the years they have messed up my membership at least 3 times (including the time they did they same thing monthly for a whole year and I had to go in every month to sort it as just the one instance) and more than once their check-in system for classes has failed and registered me as scanning in at a time I was at home/work and charged me for missing a class. ETA: Their admin gets worse every time. My accounts been blocked for the last week and it turns out it's because they owe me money and I have to go in and get it put back on my card. Rather than returning it via the method they took it i.e. via my bank account. And I never received any correspondence to tell me to go in to get it paid back on card so I suppose I was just supposed to guess their ridiculous processes??

Facilities are good overall, but the gym needs some serious maintenance. At least 2 machines (often more) are always broken and a lot of the working machines are very clearly worn.

A good facility with lots going on, have a look at the timetable to see the full list of their activities. Gym, pool, indoor and outdoor courts. The swimming pool area is nice but changing areas can get dirty if it's busy, they have a no shoes policy but don't enforce it so the floor can get pretty muddy (not nice when walking bare foot). The kids pool can be quite cold, not great for babies but fine for active young ones. They have plenty of places to lock up your bike, the car park is big enough but can be a nightmare to leave at peak traffic times.

Usually such a good Gym. Though today they haven't let anyone in the men's changing room. Absolutely shameful. A bunch of guys have their bags everywhere.

Using the gym cost £7.20, though I wasn't able to achieve even this, as I had to watch a non-existent induction video first, despite having used the gym before. The lady on reception couldn't find the video either so I gave up. Bureaucracy at its finest.

The facilities are fairly good, but the management and customer service is poor, and one or two members of staff have a contemptuous manner. For instance, the centre has a post-COVID rule that children using the shallow pool are not allowed to use any of the centre's own floats. (I think it must be owned by the Grinch.) I expressed concern about this at the time at reception: how is a carer expected to look after a non-swimming child and keep an eye on floats left on the side at the same time? Still I bought the floats (£20) and, of course, the first time I left them on the side of the pool they were taken, presumably by the bigger kids in the deep pool. At the end of the session I told reception, and the woman's first response was, "What do you expect me to do about it?" (Really!) I ended up speaking to the assistant manager, who said, "We cannot be held responsible if you choose not to watch your belongings at all times." I said, "How can you look after floats when you're not using them, when you are in care of a 3 year old who can't swim and needs constant attention?". He reiterated, "We cannot be held responsible if you choose not to watch your belongings at all times." I said that doesn't make any sense, but he just said it again. So I said I would like to make a complaint. He said I could go online. I said, aren't you the assistant manager—can't you make a record of a complaint? He said I could go online… Another example. It is almost impossible to book in to lane swimming, as the sessions are opened to members first, and there is no penalty for not turning up. So, obviously, members block book and often don't come. (If you do get in, you're often left wondering where everyone is.) I told this to reception today. The woman said, "I know, that's exactly what happens." I asked could they consider changing policy, perhaps introducing penalties for non-attendance, or at least allowing other people in if bookers haven't arrived. She said, "There's nothing we can do about it." I mean—what?! I said could she take my feedback. She said I could go online… Aaaaaaaagh!

Used the pool. Nice an cool on a very warm day. I like booking and paying in advance with their app. Not too expensive for older people £3.20.

The receptionist on the phone (Sharon) was so friendly, helpful and efficient, taking me through registration for Everyone Active, and helping me understand the holiday swim options. On arrival there is plenty free parking, a well stocked shop with lots of goggles etc. The kids are having a brilliant time in the Family Swim, they're already familiar with the building as they come here for school swimming lessons. The lifeguards are alert and not overbearing. A great experience

I have had a membership with Horfield gym for a few months and attend a mixture of fitness classes with some friends. My favourite class is spin on a Monday with Matt! He is an absolute savage but never fails to push us towards our fitness goals and brings a smile to our face with his humour. Always welcoming and helpful to make sure your equipment is set correctly. He is so motivating and I would recommend his class to anyone from all abilities.

Went today to see the horfield leisure centre. The manager there was very kind and explained about all the courses available, what is included in the membership and showed us the gym and swimming pool. He also said us how to make the most of it. Really like the place and people.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Horfield Leisure Centre, and I must say, the experience was exceptional. Miss Louise Thomas provided an outstanding tour of the facility, showcasing her extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for every aspect of the center. Her dedication to ensuring that visitors have a comprehensive understanding of the offerings was truly commendable. During the tour, I also had the opportunity to interact with Nico, a gym trainer at the center. His insights into the various facilities and programs available were invaluable. His expertise and willingness to share information added to the overall positive impression I had of the center. I must express my gratitude to Miss Louise Thomas for her outstanding guidance and to the entire Horfield Leisure Centre team for their dedication to providing a top-notch experience for visitors. Based on my visit, I am genuinely excited about the prospect of becoming a member and taking advantage of the excellent facilities they offer. Kudos to the Horfield Leisure Centre team.

The place is good, but some of the staff are not friendly, and they take a long time (Three weeks) to replay to my enquiry.

Very bad overall experience in this Leisure Center, particularly at the front desk, and Jon T., who is so far the most rude staff I've ever met. I'm a member for some times and since I moved to Gympass, I have been treated as Customer B. I'd never recommend this place.

Receptionist was awfully rude! I had to rebook a class due to traffic I rang in plenty of time but no one answered. So it looks as though i did not give enough time. Then shouting HELLO HELLO down the phine due to bad reception and then having a rude manor. Honestly its not needed. I dont think I will return!

My first experience today was not a good one . I had booked for 2 children to join swimming at 3.45 straight from school . Unfortuntley when i arrived i was a met with man with a beard who was very unfriendly . He advised that the booking hadnt go through properly and we cant do the session . We were waiting for a long time and my son restless and upset that couldnt go swimming and touched the scanner . The man was very rude to him and said ‘leave that mate’ also told him to get down . My son has special needs so being told he couldnt go swimming was very upsetting for him . I feel that the member of staff had no empathy for this and was very matter of fact they they cant go swimming today . I have now paid £160 and paid for 2 children to go swimming so hope this is just a one off and that the customer service improves . I would to mention that ladies on thr cafe are the complete opposite and very nice and friendly.

My kids have their swimming lessons here. In past 2 months my son’s lesson has been cancelled twice and you have to keep on at the manager to amend your direct debit for missed lessons, otherwise they continue to charge full price. Showers & changing rooms in the swimming village are pretty gross. Water temperature is variable & often dirty. The reason I bring my kids for their swimming lessons over Henbury is due to the large viewing gallery & I can watch both my kids lessons at the same time. Could be so much better all round.

Spent 5 mins trying to get through on phone only for someone to answer and not speak, they then hung up the phone. About as poor customer service as you could hope for. Staff seem to be badly trained on using computer systems. Poor facilities. Some leisure centres have cover for cycles but here they are exposed to the elements. There is just one table tennis which you have to phone to book as you can't do so online. Prices have also risen dramatically recently. Almost like it is being deliberately run down so the land can be sold for housing.
