This
is
one
of
the
very
few
places
in
Belgium
(other
than
my
home)
where
I
tasted
authentic
Indian
food.
It
is
a
small
place
owned
by
a
family,
with
a
few
tables
for
dining.
The
host
(Devi)
and
her
husband
(Ravi)
were
amazingly
polite
as
they
invited
us
to
dine
at
their
restaurant.
We
had
sambar
rice
and
chicken
biryani.
The
dishes
were
amazing.
The
quantity
of
the
dish
served
were
also
sufficient
for
1
person.
The
food
had
the
right
amount
of
spices.
I
asked
them
to
add
more
chilies
in
my
biryani;
it
was
perfect.
The
chicken
was
super
succulent
and
had
amazing
flavor.
It
was
served
with
raita,
which
was
super
fresh.
Of
note,
the
biryani
will
not
taste
like
a
Lucknowi
or
a
Hyderabadi
biryani.
But
I
can
assure
you
that
you
will
enjoy
the
taste.
The
taste
of
the
sambar
took
me
and
my
wife
back
to
Chennai
-
hot
sambar,
steamed
rice,
and
papad.
Yum!!!
It
takes
some
time
for
the
food
to
arrive;
may
be
it
is
prepared
from
scratch
after
the
order
is
given.
I
personally
like
this
style
of
preparation,
as
it
ensures
that
the
food
is
fresh.
I
could
hear
the
whistles
of
the
pressure
cooker
as
it
cooked
the
rice
my
wife
ordered.
I
had
similar
experiences
when
I
had
traveled
to
Myanmar,
where
the
restaurants
would
be
hosted
by
families,
the
place
would
be
an
extension
of
their
houses,
and
the
food
would
be
prepared
once
the
order
is
given.
Flavor
and
freshness
would
define
the
food,
and
patience
would
be
the
key
to
enjoy!
So,
if
you
are
passing
by
Liege,
take
a
detour
to
this
family
restaurant.
Don't
let
the
size
of
the
place
or
the
ambience
judge
the
food.
Give
some
time,
chat
with
the
host,
and
enjoy
the
authentic
Indian
flavors.
(There
are
some
South
Indian
dishes
that
you
do
not
see
in
other
Indian
restaurants!
🤤)
