I have lived here going on 2 years. I lived in the tall tower and also in the north building, so I can say I know the place better than most who have lived here. I've lived in luxury condo buildings in several countries for the last 15 years and I have read the very few bad reviews left on Google about this place and disagree with them strongly. I like the security, the office and maintenance staff is unparalleled (Katie and Chris are top notch), maintenance is at your door hours after submitting a ticket (shocking), parking is great I have two spots, amenities are very well kept, resident gatherings are generous (free alcohol and food) and residents are really professional in general. I think you need to have lived in other luxury condo buildings to be able to appreciate this place. Nowhere is perfect, but given my perspective this place is as close as it gets. I have had a few issues here which is normal for condo living. I had a noise issue and it was resolved quickly. I had recurring HVAC issues in my first condo here and they were on top of it. The entire building suffered issues because of COVID and it was all handled in an impressive manner. Dogs used to pee on their way to go outside commonly on the 4th floor hallway (its carpeted). They have a camera there now and fines in place and they became strict and it stopped happening. Many dogs live here because people in KC in general are dog lovers to the extreme. Why live in a condo with a big dog or dogs... beyond me. People keep their dogs on leashes and I have had no issues with dog problems or dog noise. Packages are currently delivered to your door by the internal staff. So this is a big plus because instead of packages being left in a package closet and having to dig to find your packages they are delivered. The cleaning staff has always impressed me. They are so friendly and soooo busy. This place is CLEAN. PT Coffee is right down stairs and I frequent them. The Drum Room has shockingly good food and is across the street. Walking distance (1 block) is the luxury downtown Cosentino's grocery store. I also walk one block to Marriot for Roasters coffee. Note that you are close to power and light entertainment but do not hear their loud speakers when they have concerts etc. I have seen 1 light and 2 light (main competitors which get the noise from speakers in power and light) and I would choose this place over those easily. I do not write reviews very often but this place deserves a good review from me. Kansas City is lucky to have this building and the rates, for what you get, are dirt cheap.

The Power & Light Apartments are great & have nice amenities. Most importantly, their security is top of the line, mainly for one reason… & his name is Ralph. Ralph is tactical & always has the place secured. He keeps his head on a swivel & stays focused, unlike other security guards we’ve seen at other apartment buildings where they do nothing! You can ask any resident at Power & Light & they will tell you Ralph is good at his job & I agree!

The staff and maintenance VERY ATTENTIVE and EFFICIENT. Chris always made sure the task was complete and completed correctly. He is all for the residents. But hands down, Ralph their security guard is awesome!! He helped me move back in Aug 2020. Ralph was personable and easy going but did his job to the T. The pricing was fair especially w/ all the amenities that are included such as 15 spots guest parking. I compared to the other luxurious apartments in KCMO and P&L Apartments offers way more: sq ft: pricing, personal garage pickup at your door, dog park, pool, hottub, sauna, pet of the month, varies events for residents monthly, media room, study room, and gym. Now that I have moved to Minneapolis, I miss the treatment from P&L Apartments. The apartments are very nice and well kept. I stayed in the north building on 6th floor. I had super tall ceilings, the place was ventilated appropriately. My neighbors were great. Honestly at times I felt like I lived in the apartment complex alone b/c I never heard a sole, the walls are thick. I referred a friend to this apartment complex, she lives in the tower building but she loves it too. In the Tower they usually have elevator issues but P&L Apartments are prompt to fix these issues. I did not really experience elevator issues in the North building. Overall I HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you plan on living downtown Kansas City, MO!

Terrible experience with trying to view the apartments. The staff is incredibly rude and they do not communicate with one another. I called the day before to schedule an appointment and was told to “walk in after 1pm” and someone will assist me. I did just that and one leasing agent said, “I’ll help you in 15 mins.” After 20 mins, they decided no one could assist me even though everyone was free from anyone being in front of them. I voiced my concerns to a resident walking by and they told me they were EXCITED NOT to renew because they NEVER follow up on their promises and the amenities are NOT accessible. Super unprofessional and a total terrible indication of what living there could be like. Look elsewhere.

We absolutely loved living in the Power and Light apartments! Our apartment was quiet, the amenities are great and every staff member was so kind and friendly! Maintenance requests were always addressed very quickly! The historical building and views from the roof are amazing.

You will not find better views, better amenities, buildings (there are two) with more character or a better downtown living experience in Kansas City than the Power & Light Apartments. All that being said, what sets them apart is the staff - both the office and maintenance team are professional, responsive and just all around great people. Having experienced the opposite elsewhere, I can tell you, it makes all the difference.

I can't say enough positive things about Power & Light Apartments. Since our move in last summer, we have fallen in love with this place. From the amazing amenities, beautiful architecture, and location downtown, to the wonderful staff and fun social events they provide to their residents; this place is everything we expected. The rooftop beacon lounge has some of the best views in the city with a beautiful common lounge. The basement can keep you entertained for hours from watching shows in the media room, working out, or hanging out in the spa/sauna. And easily the nicest pool downtown, hands down. This building is also pet friendly, with a great gated park for the pups to socialize and do their business. Management is always extremely friendly, responsive, and handles any questions/concerns promptly. Maintenance and security are the nicest and most helpful guys around. If you're considering moving downtown, you'd be foolish not to consider here. Also as a side note, take all of the negative reviews with a grain of salt, seems pretty obvious most are from competing apartments frustrated with P&L's success. If they mention how great the other luxury apartments are downtown in their review, or talk about it being too noisy in the heart of a major city (you live downtown??) it's pretty obvious. Thanks for being amazing!

I feel so fortunate to be able to call Power & Light Apartments. The location is superb and the amenities are equally impressive (fantastic rooftop lounge and pool). I have leased for the entire decade I've lived and worked in Kansas City and this is by far the best managed property I have lived in. The staff knows us and our dog by name and has always been great to work with. Whenever we have had a maintenance issue arise or simply made in inquiry with staff, the responsiveness has been consistently prompt and helpful. We've been assisted in many small but thought ways in which I would never have expected. Communication to residents about community information, events, or incidents is timely and informative. We love our unit especially the aesthetic of the finishes and floor to ceiling windows. While car ownership still a necessity for most in KC, parking is easily accessible for residents yet secure. And the garage has several electric charing stations. We are thoroughly enjoying living in the center of KC's downtown and couldn't imagine a better place to experience it!
