Came for lunch - everything was so flavorful and delicious! I had the pork carnitas plate with rice & beans and cabbage (which was recommended by our waitress). We also shared a side of tostones as an appetizer. The mojito was one of the best I have ever had. Will definitely be back when we are in the area!

Excellent restaurant! Great food, love local! My first time trying Honduran food and I love it. First time trying fried plantains, then were amazing. Make sure you try something from the Honduran Specialties page of the menu. Very reasonable prices.

Everything was delicious. We had the nachos with chicken, and the family sampler. Service was good. We sat at a table with chairs. The chairs were not comfortable.

Wanted to try something new and read somewhere that their club was pretty good. It was! Even better was the sweet potato fries. I got them both to go. They came out piping hot and delicious. I'll go again next time I'm tooling around in Frankfort.

This place had been on our list to try for some time and it did not disappoint! Everything we had was AMAZING! The plantains were probably the best I've had (sorry Little Havana). I had pork carnitas with homemade corn tortillas. The carnitas were incredibly tender and full of flavor and I had leftovers for lunch for two days! They made tortillas to order so they arrived fresh and so warm, a real treat. Excellent service and entertainment. The prices are very reasonable and we cannot wait to go back again!

Amazing food combined with fantastic service! Maguey was the sweetest waitress. We tried a variety of food off of the menu. I highly suggest the sampler plate to get a variety of taste but the rolled chicken tacos were to die for! We will be back (coming from west Louisville!)

This was the first visit to Mami Monchitas. The service, presentation and food were all 🎯 amazing. The flavors are unique and delicious.

Great Service. Our waitress was such an awesome lady. The mango mojito was one of the best drinks i’ve ever had. The guacamole with plantain chips was delicious and the pork carnitas was so flavorful. You can great taste the Caribbean flavors in this food. Definitely recommend!!

This was our second visit and it was as wonderful as the first time! The guacamole and fried plantains are de-lish! The Anafres appetizer was outstanding full of chorizo, cheese and beans with the best homemade tortilla chips. My husband got the Family Sampler as a meal...wonderful and the Pupusa is so full of flavor. Service has been fantastic both times. I'll add more photos next time...if I can remember before inhaling the food...

I don't know why it took us so long to try this place, but it was a HUGE mistake. They had excellent food and even better service! The environment was very welcoming, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The staff was amazing and super friendly. We will for sure be going back... a lot!

We had just finished at Buffalo Trace and wanted to let the Friday rush hour traffic dissipate. Well, this was an awesome respite. The peach Margaritas were great and a nice deviation from bourbon. I had the pupusas, my sons and husband had the enchiladas. There was nothing left on any of our plates. We enjoyed sitting outside to enjoy the early summer atmosphere. Our server was wonderful too! Would certainly return for the food, drinks and atmosphere.

The food is always the best here! Their drinks are amazing as well. I love the yuca for starters, though it's extremely spicy! I always get their chicken carnitas, so filling and delicious. This last time I went, we chose to sit outside and ow the chairs left bruises on my butt which was probably my fault anyway! But I just wish there could've been cushions on the chairs! My poor butt has diamond bruising on it now 😭 I will be sitting inside from now on.

What a delightful gem of a fine. Nestled ironically in a residential area, the parking was full at 1 in the afternoon. We had to wait for about 10 minutes because the restaurant was packed! Our first time visiting a Nicaraguan driven menu and we were not disappointed! The staff was amazing, and the food portions were more than ample( we could have split a plate and left with full bellies). Everything was hot, fresh, plated nicely and delicious! One of the owners was serving and working as hard as the rest of the staff! The crowd were mainly business types on their lunch. The ambiance was lively but not overly loud with just the right level of music in the background. We definitely recommend Mami Monchitas and will make this a repeat destination for great food.

This is some of the best food I have had in a while. When we got there they were understaffed and busy. So rather than try to take on more customers they had us wait till they could properly serve us. I definitely like that over just giving bad service. The food isn't fancy but man is it prepared well and the flavor is fantastic. We don't have much of a reason to go to Frankfort again. But we might make the drive just to eat here.

Atmosphere is very nice and relaxing. Very clean establishment. Service was fast and friendly. I really enjoyed my meal and appetizer. One of my sides was a little bland, but it may have only been so in comparison to the entree and other sides vivid flavors. I recommend trying them if you haven’t already. I know I will be back to sample more of their dishes.

When visitors and tourists come into town, I always recommend Mami Monchitas. Fresh, delicious eats. Order a caipirinha for your drink, and order a canoa to for appetizers. From there anything you order is phenomenal. They do cater to large groups and they have outdoor seating during the spring/summer/fall season. They also do online orders. Parking is not huge but readily available. Street parking too. Also, staff is sorry friendly and amazing. Tip well :)

Absolutely phenomenal food. Truly some of the best chicken we’ve ever had. Lightly fried with fresh vegetables and an amazing sauce. The shrimp in wine sauce was also very tasty. The drinks are a bit pricey, but the food is priced very well for large portions. 10/10 wish we lived in the area so we could visit more often.

First time here and it made us so happy! The atmosphere is so homey the staff is so friendly and the food! We got the Honduran chicken salad sandwich the sauce is to die for, the pupusas were hearty, buttery and very fresh. The cabbage and onions were perfectly pickled and a nice addition to the dish. Also had the tacos de pollo similar to flaunts and fried very very good! We’ll be back

I couldn’t agree more with all the great reviews! The food and service was amazing. Angel was our server and explained not only the menu but the mission of the owner to give back to the people of Honduras. If I lived nearby I would be a regular!

A special little place tucked away from the main roads, but such a genuine, authentic and welcoming family run restaurant. If you want to try something delicious, different and original.. go here. Write have been twice and looking forward to trying the whole menu. And the Mojitos.. well, they are the bomb. Best we've ever had! We ordered the Spicy Yucca appetizer and the Pollo Con Tajadas to share...who knew how delicious chicken over fried green bananas could be?!!!! We were pleasantly surprised by the flavors!

Wow. The food here is unique and well executed. Drinks are absolutely fire. Service from my server Angel was warm and inviting. Oh yeah, the ethos of the place is pretty awesome as well. I will be going out of my way to stop here again

Met a group of friends for a reunion of sorts. Our server was very attentive to refills/drinks and making sure we were taken care of without rushing the service. We spent 2 1/2 hours there catching up. The food was very generously proportioned and delicious! I ordered the Grilled Chicken entrée that included these amazing fried plantains. Will def be back!

My husband and I had lunch here for the first time today and it was beyond our expectations. Our server Frank made several suggestions and we took him up on it. The guacamole and fried plantains was our appetizer. The plantains were crisp and flavorful and the guacamole was some of the best I’ve ever had. Our two entrees were equally as delicious, lots of complex flavors without being overwhelming. The staff was friendly and we will definitely add this to our list of favorite restaurants. You need to go!

Delicious food with super fast service! The mojito, guac, and chicken tacos were delicious. Great stop for a quick dinner after a bourbon trail filled day.
