Colby‘s is a fun place to dine. The atmosphere in a historic building across from the courthouse is lovely. The service was impeccable. Everyone was very friendly and checked on us several times my dining partner had the special pot roast. She shared a bite. It was out of this world, I ordered the smash burgers and I learned that’s not my favorite type of burger I like mine more juicy. However, they had nice flavor and it was a very generous portion. The grand topping off dessert was the best part. We shared chocolate pecan pie à la mode. Words can’t express how delicious it was. The parking can be a problem, especially if you have accessibility problems.
We had an incredible visit to Colby‘s. It was an unexpected and awesome meal. First of all, the place is pretty. The service was impeccable. The food was outstanding. We had the prime rib special for $19.99 between the hours of 4 to 6 PM. The baked potato was light and fluffy, the salad was very fresh and the vinaigrette tasted homemade. We couldn’t believe it for the price. It also came with a piece of strawberry cake to take home and even cheesy bread. It was quite the meal and a great price. Left very satisfied.
Food and service was excellent. Don’t miss the fried chicken and the milkshakes. Service was attentive and considerate. Would definitely recommend! Appetizers were especially good too!
5 of us went here to celebrate a birthday. This was a nice restaurant. Service was excellent. My wife and I had the Cajun Alfredo. It was OK but I think I'd try the lemon pepper Alfredo next time or something grilled. Everything else food wise we tried was excellent. Appetizers sides ect.
Excellent service, the food was very good, good flavor at a good temperature, you can find individual or combo dishes 😋, variety of drinks, cocktails 🍸 and wines (excellent variety). Highly recommended, a good place to go with the family, eat and enjoy, a meeting, a birthday or simply go to see Owensboro 😀
I had an amazing time in Owensboro when I ate at Colby's Fine Foods and spirits. I had wonderful service from the bartender / our waitress with great recommendations for our appetizer. They are specially known for their chicken strips. I highly recommend their homemade dressings and dips. Chicken strips for an appetizer a rib-eye steak and a baked potato for the main course the salad while you wait and a molten chocolate cake for dessert is the way to go. I recommend going right when they open to get the best seating and parking possible, it is a busy parking lot. Otherwise I suggest you make reservations
Stopped here while visiting town and was so happy we chose this as the place to eat. We were there shortly after opening and seated fairly quickly. Our waitress was so pleasant and gave us just the right amount of time to look at menues. She answered questions and advised us of specials. I got the shrimp appetizer which was DELICIOUS, So much flavor! I also got the mushroom and shrimp dip and it was also delicious. My husband got the fries and chicken strips and he said they were very good as well. Our drinks never ran empty! Overall very satisfied with the location, taste of food and service.
Another Great Restaurant in Downtown Owensboro !!! I had heard about Colby's and always wanted to try it. I finally had an extra night in which I had the opportunity to try Colby's and went there for dinner. Colby's has been around since 1987 and is a staple in Owensboro. Their menu has many comfort foods, American Classics, Bourbons, Cocktails, some craft beers and a whole lot more. On my visit, I tried 3 dishes and a 'Wheat' Bourbin from a local distillery. First up was a glass of Green River Kentucky Straight Wheated Bourbon which set the course for my meal. My first choice of the evening was Colby's Classic Shrimp Louisianne which was Six large shrimp sautéed in cajun butter and served sizzling hot in a skillet with a side of Cheesy Garlic Bread. The shrimp were plump, juicy and full of flavour and a great starter. Next up was Colby's take on New Orleans Gumbo made with a blend of shrimp, scallops, chicken, onions, peppers, andouille sausage and rice. The 'cup' size was almost a meal itself with big chunks of andouille sausage and a palatable spice level. For my main course, I had the 8oz center-cut aged filet mignon served medium-rare with sides of mashed potatoes, brown gravy, sauteed mushrooms and veggies. The streak was a little overcooked but tender enough to be able to enjoy. The servers and the food were really good and I see why people flock to Colby's after all these years. Another great place to try when you are in the Owensboro area.
