The park online states 2 areas however large dogs are not allowed they locked it with chains
I gave 4 out 5 only because they took out the public grills. Great place to be a kid or spend time with you dog at the dog park. Bring food and eat at one of the many picnic tables. You can get your cardio on walking the loop. Also has a small calisthenics workout area. Even has USB ports at blue charging bench.
Grew up coming to this park and it's fun being able to have my kids. Their pavilions are spacious, the park has everything a kid looks for including a zipline, merry go round, splash pad, and basketball courts. They even have an "exercise area" built in next to the play area that kids are able to access as well.
Lots of huge trees and a huge paved walkway around the park. My kids love going here, especially during summer when the splash pad opens up.
My kids usually love legion Park but honestly it could really be bigger. It's the perfect location for a big nice park and every time we're there it's packed. My only complaint is that the spray Park have a different set up. It's dangerous I don't know how many times my kids have fallen on that wet cement! It gets so slick and then all around the concrete turns to mud. It could be a great place! Please update it!!
I visited my sister who still loves in Owensboro, where we both grew up, and took my nephews to the Christmas lights at Legion Park. It was surreal being back there as an adult, taking some kids to a thing I used to do as a kid. The part equipment is a blast. The lights were great. The paths are smooth and fun for the kids' scooters. It was awesome.
The Christmas lights was very nice to walk around and see, bit after seeing the exact ones yr after year, and them being so far spaced out one from the other, unfortunately it's not the hype of the tri-state in this season, the park is always well kept, but this yr was just dissatisfied and expecting something new, maybe next year there will be too see!!
Large park. Lots of room. Plenty of facilities. A building you can rent for events. Lots of squirrels . Great walking path that is just the right distance. I take my mother here and we feed the squirrels. There are albino squirrels there. Very cute.
