Amazing place with so many options of trails! The autumn colors are incredible!!!! 🍂🍁 We spent 6 hours just walking around and exploring... The trails are accessible and there is also a tree top bridge which was a great attraction for our son! The food stands were great too! Highly recommended!

Really nice place for a walk with friends. Nice and quiet. Good for people with mobility issues. Went in spring so loads of bluebells around the trees. Even in the rain was very enjoyable and then to the smokehouse for lunch for a pork burger and chips. Delicious. Only downside was cost to enter was £11 each. But such a well maintained place so worth it. But I know many people will be turned off by that entry price.

This is an amazing and beautiful place. I have walked around so many times, the place is so huge you need to visit many times to see it all. The trees are labelled for easy identification, and there are signs scattered around with information and facts. This is one of my favourite ways to relax and get exercise.

A magical place. People can walk as far or as little as they like. The paths are good for visitors who need a firm ground to walk on. I really liked how they've split 50/50 for dog walkers and non-dog areas. We loved both sides of the Arboretum. The Christmas light trail was on when we went but we went in the day. It looks pretty awesome and can only imagine it looks fantastic at night. The cafe pricing seemed odd, £3.50 for a small slice of lemon drizzle cake. Yet for only a little more, you can get a soup, roll and a coffee. Do listen out for your name when collecting, as someone took our drinks then realised it wasn't theirs. It can be quite crowed at the drink collection area so if you're uneasy about that, visitors might be best to bring their own food/drink. Top tip: pick up a map, it's divided into squares which indicate how far it is to walk.

Beautiful walk, definitely recommend going in autumn, the colours were stunning 😍 lots of amazingly large trees. The paths were nice and flat so very relaxing stroll and accessible for all. My only complaint was that there were only toilets at the entrance, it would have been helpful to have some toilets along the routes.

Even in February, hardly the best time to visit, there is still much to see in this national treasure. Its been hit by Ash die back but there is much work going on to protect the area. After your walk there is even a great cafe for some much needed refreshments.

If you like woodland walks and peaceful places then you'll love Westonbirt. My family and I had an awesome day mooching around the walks chatting and catching up. Being treated to beautiful sights of such a variety of trees. Stopped of for a quality lunch and had a decent selection to choose from, not the cheapest but great quality. Need to go back in the autumn to see the firework of colour provided by the turning leaves. A visual feast for the soul, a new favourite place of mine 💚

Great place, you can lose a good five or six hours here wandering through the trees. Fantastic treetop walkway and the older part, where digs are not allowed, was full of deer, rabbits and squirrels the size of cats. Lived it...

Lovely place to go for a quiet walk. You can take scooters and bikes for the little ones to tire them out, but no adults on bikes, so it stays nice and quiet. There was a pizza / pulled pork hut there. Excellent food

Haven't been for many years so was delighted with all the changes that have been made. Walked the entire perimeter of the old and new arboretum, including some of the internal pathways took about 3.5 hours, which was great. Will definitely visit again during another season.

We arrived late but the time we spent was lovely. Enjoyed coffee and cake after a walk over the fabulous Ariel walkway. Can't wait to go again for a full day. Dogs allowed on leads.

I have visited Westonbirt 3 times now as I wanted to shoot the Autumn colours. The first visit was in the Acacia Avenue and then the second two the Maple Loop. Both are stunning, the colours are vibrant, the yellows reds and oranges have really been dramatic this year. This is a large site , you will need plenty of time to get round everything. There are plenty of stalls for coffee, and plenty of take away choices. The staff are absolutely lovely and always give me good tips for my photos, please thank them for me. This is a lovely visit easily deserving five stars, and deserves its reputation as one of the best arboretums in the country. I will let the images (hopefully) do the talking. A Photo Tip if I may. Shoot more Landscape as opposed to portrait. We see in landscape, our field of vision is Landscape 3X2 (width X height). While sensors vary in size, most sensors are Landscape 3X2 (both camera and phone), they mimic what our sub conscious is most comfortable with and expects to see. .

Really good. A nice place to visit during the Covid 19 crisis. A busy car park but the area is huge and crowds disperse easily.

This was a hreat day out with the kids, there are lots of facts dotted about for the kids to discover and a wide variety of trees and things to do. The cafe was nice and serving people very friendly. There are lots of places for the dog to run about on and off the lead.

Westonbirt is a great place to visit. The giant Sequoias are my favourite all year round. But Autumn is full of colour and spring is nice for new growth. Lots to do with kids such as the gruffalo trail, wooden slide, park and the ice cream is great. It comes in plastic free containers too!

Perfect time to go right now! The Rhododendrons are just starting to flower all around the old wood. Also grab a sausage roll on your way past the cafe, they are divine. Plenty of space to find some peace or run around in.

Fantastic place as always, a tad expensive if you're not a member £22 for two adults and a child to go for a walk is a bit much but it really is a lovely place to spend time, the gruffalo trail is always a winner with my son but it's looking a bit dated and could do with a refresh. Good food options and nice places to sit, staff are always super nice.

We joined the 2pm walk led by a couple of gentlemen (but I am terrible with names! So sorry!). It was fantastic and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning more. They kept us engaged throughout, it felt as though 10 minutes had gone by when the walk was 1hr30! We could have followed them for another hour I'm sure. We learnt all about the history of the site, a few key species and the fun stories around them, various continents in which the trees are native too and SO MUCH MORE. The site itself is stunning and there is just so much to see. We had the chicken wings and prawn toast for the cafe which was very tasty and again the staff were lovely. We also had a hot chocolate later on which was delicious! We will be back next time we visit the area, and we will definitely be joining another tour! Thank you for making our day!

Really beautiful and special place, I just wish dogs were allowed in all of it. They are allowed in the new section, witch is huge, and they are allowed off lead in part of that side too, so there's a lovely relaxed atmosphere, and the colours are already amazing, with a lot still to come.

Absolutely stunning display of Xmas lights but a bit disappointed with the lack of characters (elves, father Xmas, reindeer runway etc) and fun fair events during and after the walk. Previous years have definitely delivered more.

  • 5/5 Beth N. 1 year ago on Google
This is such a gorgeous place all year round. Of course it’s at it absolute best in the autumn so advance booking is essential at that time. For a one off trip it seems a little pricey but I really recommend a membership- even just going once a season makes it worth it! For us we try and go once a month to see all the changes in the season. The space is very dog friendly but there’s also an area that’s dog free so if you’re not a dog fan you can be undisturbed by them. The cafes are great and there’s also ample picnic space!

  • 5/5 Becky A. 6 months ago on Google
Absolutely stunning place. Highly recommend going here. We have a membership as we love it so much. The trees all year round are incredible but autumn is by far my favourite. Lots to do for all the family. So many trees/bushes to discover, a kids trail (usually themed, currently is an autumn tree/leaf trail), lots of things to climb/play areas for the kids & sculptures to find such as gruffalo and friends and what’s the time mr wolf!

  • 5/5 City G. 7 months ago on Google
Absolutely stunning to see the autumn colours, great variety of trees. Biggest arboretum I've visited. Lots of space and trails. Tree top walkway offers a great perspective. Has indoor cafe and food stands. Pre booking tickets is advised. Plenty of free parking

I visited Westonbirt a few times during Xmas holiday, but this was my first time there in the daytime. Lots of visitors were there on Sunday. The car parks were full. Plenty of places to eat or drink. It is a nice walk around the park on a sunny day. It is worth the visit, although a bit of more entertainment would be great for the adults.

Had a willow course with our teacher for the day. She was an amazing host and made us all relaxed and welcoming and so funny. Not one of us at the course had done anything like this before, and my outcome and finished article for the day was a Christmas gift to my parents!... in the photos below. Thank you, zoe 😊

We will keep coming back as long as we can. I’ve been coming since I was little with my family and look back fondly on our days beneath the trees. I now take my own family here at least once a month. It’s truly beautiful and one of our favourite places to go.

  • 4/5 Elizabeth Wilson S. 6 months ago on Google
Lovely time as ever and the trees are stunning. Two downsides: food choices weren't great, 2, we managed to borrow a mobility scooter (of which, I don't feel they have enough for high season) but the battery ran down so fast we had to cut our walk short. This was to our advantage though, as we got to the car before the rain started!

  • 5/5 Melly K. 2 years ago on Google
It was tipping down with rain but we still loved it. Plenty of places to walk and explore. All mainly level so great for all ages and abilities. Dog friendly and family friendly. Nice cafés and resturants, clean toilets, large carpark and reasonably priced. We loved the tree top walk and meeting the gruffalo.

  • 5/5 Christopher B. 5 months ago on Google
Absolutely loved it. Fantastic family festive event. Met up with a group of friends for a catch up during the festive season. Lovely village waiting area, complete with rides for the children, Santa Claus and plenty of refreshments. Hot Chocolate, Milkshakes, Mulled Wine and Cider, Hog Roast Bratwurst, Burgers, Falafel, Baguettes, Jacket Potatoes so much variety of choice. Parking was easy and well guided by the attendants, big screen with info of time slots now being admitted. The walk itself took about 50mins/hour and there were beautifully lit areas with lots to see and experience. £21 for an adult ticket, absolute bargain for the experience and really nice time we all had, now a new annual tradition. Thank you Westonbirt Team - Great work 👍

Lovely place. Even better with the addition of the walkway. Lunch in the restaurant was good, particularly the spicy tomato chutney. Tried to buy some to bring home but couldn't find any and was told they don't sell it!! Message to the restaurant manager- you really should offer this for take-away sale, it is so good. I, for one, would have bought at least one jar, possibly more !!

Love this place, great for kids but also peaceful and quiet even when it’s busy. Silk woods are dog friendly. And the tree top walk way is a fun adventure for kids. The old arboretum is where you find the Gruffalo, no dogs. Old arboretum is buggy and wheel chair friendly.

  • 5/5 Skell M. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely walks in the wood, especially in the autumn when the trees are changing colour adding fantastic a range of colours. Plenty of walks and paths to chose from. Dogs allowed in the arboretum in the left and central areas but not in the old arboretum. Plenty of eating and catering establishments to chose from and the cafe in the middle and rending trucks near the entrance. Overall a fantastic day out especially for photographers with plenty of photo opportunities to be had. Look out for the grey squirrels they are everywhere.

  • 5/5 Ania M. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful place, definitely worth visiting. Autumn colours were gorgeous. The kids got a bit tired so the playground and yummy ice cream were a nice surprise at the end of the round. We only did the old part as we stopped lots of times to take photos.

  • 5/5 Alison B. 1 year ago on Google
A beautiful place for a dog walk through the Silk Wood. Highly recommended. Suggest heading there early at the weekend as it can get busy and it is more enjoyable when it's quieter. Stunning selection of trees from around the world.

  • 5/5 Denise H. 8 months ago on Google
Great place to visit, lovely to just amble amongst the trees. So many facts posted around the site and so many trails to choose from. Superb for dog walking, or bringing the kiddos.

Fantastic gravel path walks in the best wood you could imagine. Fun, safe, and stable Sky Walk is great to see the tops of trees.

Well an impromptu visit after being here for Paul Wellar concert years ago. We ended up taking the free guided tour with Robert and Val. A superb good choice as we wouldn’t have had the same experience or knowledge from our visit. An absolute education.

  • 5/5 Teresa M. 1 year ago on Google
We didn't choose the best day as the weather was rather misty but we still had a fabulous day enjoying walks through the trees. The walkway is such a good idea, lovely views and lots of interactive information available. The facilities are plentiful and everywhere was very clean. We also had a nice lunch in the Kitchen. Clearly a well organized location with lots of space for events. We left feeling restored and relaxed.

  • 4/5 Trixzy 1 year ago on Google
Visited a while back, but had to revisit for those beautiful autumn sights. I had a pleasant experience wandering the vast grounds, its quite popular (so don't expect it to be a sanctuary of serenity), but overall everything was chill! There is a café and a restaurant with coffee and cakes, and other refreshment stands, all were quite standard.

  • 5/5 Angie K. 9 months ago on Google
Fantastic place! I have been driving past many times but never been, so will definitely be back. The place is huge and excellently maintained. The trees are amazing, some of them must be centuries old. There are great facilities, too, and all of them are dog friendly. Admissions fee is not high either, so perfect place for a day out.

  • 5/5 Brian T. 11 months ago on Google
An amazing place to walk the dog. We were here 4.5 hours. It was a rather hot day so make sure you have plenty of water for your dog. We had lunch there and a Scoop ice-cream for the dog.

  • 5/5 Emily L. 1 year ago on Google
Such a wonderful place for a walk no matter what the season. The autumn colours are absolutely beautiful 🍁🍂, the flowers in the spring are gorgeous and it’s so nice to see all the little buds on the trees🌱🌷🌼. Even in the rain it’s a lovely place for a stroll. There are so many different trail options suitable for any one no matter their ability, you could go for a quick half an hour walk or spend hours there! There are trails for kids and things to keep them entertained all the way round, information about all the different trees and little activities. There’s often trails on for them and always the gruffalo waiting to be found! The cafe is really nice with great options and there’s also a little food trailer near the entrance to grab a coffee for your walk.

  • 5/5 Karen M. 1 year ago on Google
Always an enjoyable stroll, much quieter during the week, but even during holidays and weekends you can still follow quieter routes off the main pathways. Brilliant place for kids and dogs alike, lots of options for grabbing a coffee too.

  • 5/5 Alison H. 1 year ago on Google
Such beautiful woodland. We went to a neurodiversity event. I really appreciate that they are striving to encourage lots of different people to enjoy nature, in particular the stunning trees they have there. The walkway provides a different angle and is really worth investigating.

A truly beautiful and unique place. Thanks to all the staff and volunteers who keep this incredible piece of natural splendour in such amazing beauty. An absolutely stunning testament to people who have the vision to establish and preserve a place for generations to wander and enjoy. I love the arboretum, a really beautiful and peaceful place. However it seemed really packed today which I was surprised about as I thought they were reducing admissions. It was hard to park as car park was over full, which I was surprised by seeing as you had to book. I was disappointed to only get a couple of hours there (still full price) as I couldn't get tickets any earlier than 2.20.

As a pruning specialist it's lovely to see all the different species of trees even rare ones that you normally never see. Only let down was so many dead/disease trees or trees need a prune to improve trees structure or light/air flow to trees. Lovely place for a walk.

An unexpectedly beautiful day out, we'd not heard of an Arboretum before but got a recommendation for Westonbirt from a friend and it ended up being one of our favourite days out for quite some time! The gardens are stunning and the variety is amazing, highlights for us were seeing the Wollemi Pine, Redwoods and all the different Japanese Maples in their autumn colours. The restaurant and café also did lovely homemade food and drinks. We'll definitely be back soon!

What a beautiful place to visit! Both our toddler and his grandparents had a fantastic time. We spent many hours exploring. We arrived at 10am and left at just before 5pm! Can easily spend a full day here. Beautiful. It can be a bit muddy, if it's rained, but the paths are all well maintained. Gorgeous plants, flowers and trees to admire. What a phenomenal destination. Must visit. We shall come back in the autumn instead of the summer next time. I can only imagine that it'd be just specatural. Edit: The Gruffalo trail is fantastic too. Whoever sculpted / created these is a genius. Very precise and beautiful work. Our toddler loved it and immediately recognised all of the characters. We didn't see the Gruffalo's Child, but for those looking, it's meant to be on waste drive, just past the cattle grid (near the restaurant ish). One thing I'd improve, is to add some signs for the direction of the Gruffalo or Gruffalo's child, as they're a must visit for the little ones (and older ones - we loved them).
