This is a Great pub in the city of Liverpool. Plenty of real ales and plenty of local Liverpool charm. Can get busy, but that's all part of the original thrill when going out, especially in the good ole day's, like the nineties. There's a welcoming vibe here and I highly recommend this pub in the city of Liverpool.

Small city centre pub with lots of original charm. Excellent range of real ales to choose from and prices were very reasonable. Must get tight and cozy of an evening but plenty of room on our afternoon visit. Such a nice day that we ended up drinking upstairs on the outside patio.

It's a pretty damn good pub. Contemporary beer as well as traditional. Some of staff know about what they are selling. Good mixed crowd. Not as good as last time a few years back when an old bloke was DJ'ing from an iPad which was gold.

Another proper bar introduced by our dear friend Jack W. Lovely terrace and cosy charming vibe to drink. Nice music posters around the bathroom too. And of course, great drinks.

This is a pub to be loved, great atmosphere ina lively little space. I was fortunate to see a funky Jazz band playing and some members of the band had to stand at the bar to play...this place it just great fun when there is a band, with a great little terrace upstairs. I love a few of the pubs down these back streets in this area of Liverpool

Excellent Liverpool pub about 10 minutes walk from Lime Street Station. 8 cask beers on handpump when I last visited including a porter. Has a terrace with a few tables outside upstairs. The pub dates back to 1804 and has the original Mellors signage outside.

A really nice pub with lots of great beers on offer. Staff are friendly and happy offer you samples of the large selection of craft beers they have. The peanut butter filled pretzels are stunning too.

I have been to this bar several times and have always had an okay experience, on this occasion I did not. I went to the bathroom and entered the cubicle, once sat down the metal toilet roll holder fell, hitting me in the face. Whilst I would usually accept this as an accident when I informed staff they laughed in my face and asked “don’t you watch where you are going?”. At this stage I asked to report it to an incident book where I was offered ice and limited sympathies. It was suggested that despite the SAME thing happening 5-6 times previously this accident was my fault. I am completely disgusted with the attitude of the staff and feel humiliated and belittled by staff. Whilst I appreciate it was only a small cut and lump and I would never normally asked for that to be recorded, the way I was treated was really degrading.

Came to try Real Ale and not disappointed. Lovely proper pub and excellent prices- £3.75 for a great pint of pale ale, paid £5.80 in pogoed mahones and nowhere near as good.

Great pub, just a shame I was designated driver. Will definitely be returning when it's my time to have a drink 🍻

Great find near the Bombed Out Church. Unusual selection of beers - the rum and whisky soaked stouts were amazing. A few more cider choices and I'd give it 5 ⭐️.

Well hidden away neighbourhood pub. Friendly welcoming atmosphere but very full and loud when we got there. Live band, too, in a stupidly small space.

This is a really well known Liverpool pub & although its off the main thread of touristy bars I'd recommenf seeking it out as somewhere to visit along your route if you decide to do a mini pubcrawl of the area. Although I'd recommend limiting yourself to only 1 drink at each venue tbh lol as theres so many terrific venues in the area I'm sure you don't want to find yourself legless & lost down a sidestreet somewhere that you don't know lol 😆

Fantastic pub. Tucked away a bit but worth the detour off the main drag for a very arts/music oriented environment with a great range of spirits and real ale. Feels like a cross between Cherry Reds in Birmingham and Newcastle’s Jazz Cafe.

Nice little boozer (and it is relatively small) . Decent selection of beers at reasonable prices and friendly staff. I went late on Sunday night and they had live jazz until (I think) midnight. It was pretty packed, possibly because it was Bank Holiday on Monday.

The best Sunday night live Latin style jazz band is at the Grapes. One of Liverpool’s pub diamonds.

A little bit of a mixed bag here, one member of bar staff in particular could do with some more customer skills, other than the said individual all other staff were polite and couldn't do enough. From the outside it just looks like an average backstreet pub but they offer a healthy range of local real ale at a good price. I've visited on a few occasions and have really enjoyed the beer and atmosphere but that one team member let the side down this time.

The Grapes is a proper pub. Great atmosphere, really good beer choice- one of the few pubs in town that always has a sour beer- and if you can grab a table on a busy Saturday night you'll probably never end up moving on!

An amazing pub in a great location. Well kept and staff are always nice and helpful. Always have a good few cask ales on, always something to try and enjoy. Atmosphere in here is always great as well. Toilets are clean but could do more to keep up on maintenance checks, simple things like no locks on cubicles are a let down.

Belting. Great all round. Staff, ales, punters and we found the terrace upstairs. No further tips from me. You know what you're doing right. Thanks.

Bohemian kind of place with art on the walls, good beer on tap, mixed crowd of locals and students, little roof terrace upstairs, nice relaxed atmosphere.

Great choice of beer from varied small breweries, helpful and friendly staff, pleasantly decorated and even a quiet street outside for a pint in the sun.

One of Liverpools finest pubs, 2 Minutes from the historic Chinese community known locally as Chinatown. Fantastic range of cask and craft beer, lagers plus an amazing choice of rums and other fine spirits. A must to visit if in Liverpool and Sunday nights great live jazz music from 9.00 p.m.

Visited a couple of weeks ago at 5pm on a Saturday, while taking a walk around the less 'touristy' parts of Liverpool whilst at a conference, doing geocaching with pub visits in between caches. The Grapes is well worth the short walk from the busier area around Lime Street station/ Ranelagh Street. A local pub with a diverse mixture of clientele. An important factor in my rating is that they also do a good selection of real ales, there were at least 3 on when I visited and the one I had was lively. I will definitely return.

Escorting a package of ten Mancunians post Camra beer fest. Is on the go to list to ensure that they experience the cultural superiority of Liverpool. Yeah and we all got happily ratted. Expressed their appreciation as I helped them find their way back to Lime Street. Can't have that sort staying out past curfew time.

Probably the best kept ale in Liverpool. Go to other superb Liverpool pubs, of which there are loads, and then go to the grapes and taste the difference. It's just a great pub with amazing ale, a great atmosphere and super cool staff, especially Mick.

One of my favourite bars in the city. Relaxed, traditional and has a good selection of drinks. The bar staff are helpful too when choosing different drinks etc.

A damn fine pub that's a short schlep up from the centre of town, but well worth a visit. The fine folks here had a lovely beer on tap, all I can remember is that it was made by Black Lodge. I'd love to know what it's called! The fact that I can't remember is an indication of how much of a good time was had...
