Uppaluru
is
a
small
village
existed
in
between
Undi
and
Ganapavaram
road.
One
can
reach
by
bus
or
auto.
The
buses
will
fly
from
Bhimavaram
town
to
Ganapavaram
Town,
so
we
have
to
take
bus
from
Himavaram
to
reach
this
village.
From
Bhimavaram
it
is
nearly
20
km
away.
Sri
Chennakesava
swamy
temple
existed
in
this
village
is
a
famous
one
in
this
region.
It
is
the
only
temple
in
India,
where
the
Archakas
are
Maladasulu
i.e.
Harijan
Priests.
The
temple
is
having
Garbhagriha
the
main
deity
is
Vishnu,
Stone
sculpture,
below
this
main
deity
there
are
Panchaloha
utsav
idols
flanked
by
Alwars.
All
are
worshiped
in
the
Garbhagriha.
The
Dwarapalaka
“Jaya
and
Vijaya”
are
stood
either
of
the
Antharalyam
door.
Infront
of
the
Mukhamandapa
there
is
Kalyana
Mandadapa.
Nearly
800
years
back
when
Palanati
war
was
look
place
where
in
between
Nayakurlu
Nagamma
and
Brahma
Naidi
Sri
Thiruveedhi
Narayana
Das
and
his
two
brothers
with
their
families
taken
away
the
idol
of
Sri
Chennekesava
Swamy
in
1280
A.D
to
Simhachalam,
Visakhapatnam
district
via
Nuzivedu.
These
families
used
to
bag
alms
in
their
way
to
Simhachalam.
After
knowing
that
the
peaceful
conditions
previled
in
Palnadu
are
these
priests
made
return
journey
to
Palnadu,
while
coming
back
they
have
reached
this
Uppaluru
and
stayed
for
a
day.
When
they
want
to
continue
their
return
journey
they
were
unable
to
lift
the
idol.
On
that
same
night
they
said
God
gave
vision
to
the
priests
and
said
that
he
has
selected
this
village
to
stay
permanently.
In
those
days
this
god
was
called
as
Appalaswamy.
