Amazing experience. Very courteous staff. Had my mother cataract operation with Dr.Jayangshu Sengupta, he is an experience surgeon. Hospital is clean and well maintained.

The worst experience one can expect to have in a clinic in Kolkata. No wonder things don't work out in this city. The reception staff, counter B. Can't speak to patients (although foreigners), don't know English or even good manners. I came for a check-up a week after the doctor's prescription, and they not only told me that the doctor was not available to see me (which is not true, because I went to talk to him directly). They kept me waiting for hours to re-register when there was no need to since I'm already registered. This place should close or totally change the staff and teach them their job in 2023, it's not 1960 anymore.

Went for an eye check up. Firstly, it's clean and there is adequate seating. Secondly, the staff are really polite and professional and will not lose track of their patients, diligently rotating them between cabins for various check ups. They try to keep the wait times to a minimum. Third, it's not at all expensive. Overall, it was a great experience and the institution is such a credit to the city!

Full of hospital is too good. Doctors are too good they gave sufficient time for a patient. And more interesting the doctors behavior is so good they are so friendly. All over check up system is very good. BUT the security system is too bad. Only 1 person allowed with patient 😒. AND the lift man's behavior is so rude. A huge problem here is that only one member of the Operated patient's is allowed to visit. By the way patient has been very satisfied to see here

Worst system and behaviour of staffs. Requested to shift my doctor's appointment to a later date as eye drop could not be given prior to check up due to some reasons , they told me that i have to pay consulting charges again next day even when i did not see the doctor in my first visit after paying the fees. Just a ploy to take more money from you. Avoid . Lots of other good places in kolkata to consult for eye. Avoid this place. Worst.

Dr. Archana Khetan is an awesome doctor... her entire team is very supportive and do are all the staff here. I did both eyes PRK (laser correction of eye power) and it's a success. It was very smooth and my comfort was their priority. Thank you so much.

Such bad experiences..!! I have been visiting since 18 yrs with my mom doctors n sisters they don’t know what is the patient here for. Dr Shachi Shetty..!!!! Irresponsible doctors n staffs too..!! Good for nothing..!! They r here just with Birla name that’s all.

I heard and read a lot of good reviews about this place, but sorry to say, its just fabricated. and here is why! I needed to get information about a certain doctor for an eye surgery, so i called the helpdesk numbers given on the site. the receptionists were least bothered to answer questions. they picked the call and upon saying hello and hearing just a line of my query would hang up without a word. I thought it could be a network issue, but others too have faced the same and we all were trying from different numbers last evening. this morning, from 10am to now, i tried 5 times, the same. the receptionists kept transferring the calls to some counsellor who only hung up on our calls. I wanted to visit this hospital for an eye surgery, but i am not going to come here. This hospital has staff (first impression) very unprofessional, no etiquette and no manners whatsoever, and have no idea if the hospital has tie ups with insurance companies for cashless surgeries or not. I am now looking at other places for my surgery.

Sisters of OT and OPD team are very caring and concerned for patients. They always maintain all safety protocol for patients. Little time taking eye check up but they do very thorough check up. Very good experience since long time with Cornea transplant services here. I am BRIJESH CHAUHAN very old patient since 2012 and got done my cornea transplant surgery under Dr. J Sengupta and Dr. Archana Khetan here. They have their own eye bank and microbiology molecular biology lab. Very experienced doctors. Very good set up.

Every eye facility are in a single place Management staff and doctors are very cooperative and good. Hospital is very good in hygiene. I 'm satisfied with my mother's cornea operation.

So pathetic service. They charging us 350 in each and every visit and also they take my 4 hours for normal eye checkup. Whenever I ask for my turn then only they call me otherwise they sending other peoples in my turn. Even doctors are going in rounds and OT leaving patient in wait for long.Also they are charging for a surgical mask, parking. Never recommend anyone. They are making people's fool.

Cornea services is excellent. I had severe Infection in cornea and Cornea team of doctors have treated very excellently. Now I am fully recovered. They have very good laboratory services for treating corneal infection ulcers. Thank you.

Dr. Archana Khetan was the surgeon for my mother's cataract surgery. The entire process was seamless and all arrangements were in line. The surgery went well.

Overall hospitality is good. But the food is too bad. They make every item without salt and only the veg option is available. No extra salt packets provided for patients need. No toiletries provided except a small soap. You have to buy/carry your own brush and toothpaste. Towels are not provided. I asked and got one for me. Overall clean. One unused bed photo is attached. I was under Dr. Abhijit Chattopadhyay for retina surgery. He is very good in his profession and a good surgeon, and very cooperative.

My mother is getting her eye treatment here in Priyamvada Birla Aravind Eye Hospital. Overall the experience is really nice. All the doctors and medical staffs are really good and they do take care of the patients nicely. The hospital is very nit and clean which is also very important. If you are having any eye related issues, please do visit here. I highly recommend this hospital.

Excellent facilities available at the Hospital with Day care and good Doctors experienced in Cataract Surgery. The treatment to the patient is also very professional. Would be good if adequate car parking space is arranged as currently parking outside the Hospital is prohibited.

It's a farce of an emergency ward! My son hurt himself badly with a squash ball and we rushed him to the most trusted "Birla" hospital. Not a single nurse or doctor there. The security guard called a nurse from the hospital building who saw him and asked us that if she should call a doctor...she told us it would take one and a half hours ,she was very rude!!! Appalling situation!! We heard this nurse, Ms Soma Pramanik speaking to the doctor ( Janaki Ghosh) if she could make it earlier but she said it was not possible. We learnt that this doctor stays nearby and pleaded but of no use. Pathetic hospital,pathetic doctors, pathetic service! The management needs to wake up!

Understaffed.. Made to wait for 90 mins just to get registered. Only one paed opthalmic dr running opd as well lasers.. had to wait 2.5 hrs for Dr to see.. No transparency, staffs continuously bluff that dr is seeing patients whereas dr was not in clinic for 2 hrs

For cataract operation Dr. Archana Khetan and Team Priyamvada birla aravind Eye hospital is awesome. Doctors behavior is very Nice and everything is perfect as promised.

Dr's are good.. but pathetic time takes for showing Dr post registration be it new consultation or check up.. Have to wait in glucoma opd with a 80year old patient for at least 4hours or even more for check up every time... But option less.. This waiting time should improved by streamling the Opd. Handling of files by duty staffs r not understandable

Need to improve staff for assistance. I hope it will become a great hospital, but will not recommend any member of mine. I went with my son who is just 3 months old. It's been a pathetic challenge for a mother to feed. Even canteen staff refuse to provide hot water for a 3 month old child. Almost took 1hour for registration for a 3 month old child to register him as a patient. Just improve staff salary to co-operate with a patient party. We can pay better fees instead.

Excellent service, my mom octogenarian arthritic got wheelchair and fast service. Sorry to add the wheelchair disappeared after some time 😥. Yayy got it back but wheeled it myself, there was no attendant Finally everything ended well. Attendants turned up , helped me to wheel the chair right up to the car thank you 😃

Just really overwhelmed with the new life I got with my vision back. Depending on the glasses since nearly last 15 years and now it feels like a magic. 10 on 10 to Dr. Archana khetan and her overall supporting team. I just had my PRK surgery and was nervous and sacred initially but with them all went smoothly. Just a suggestion quality of the food was awful except that everything is perfect.

I had been suffering from redness in the eye over several years. Several rounds of visits to eye clinics and consultants no permanent solution was reached. Subsequently, on visiting PVAEH l was examined finally by Dr Archana Khetan who, after listening toi my history, n stead of prescribing various medicines, used her hunch and experience to prescribe a course of action which has released me from the frightening redness and for which I shall remain indebted to get for the rest of my days. Dr jayangshu Sengupta is an excellent doctor. His approach towards his patients is precedence setting. His approach is extremely empathetic and he is a savior when it comes to extremely complex cases like myself. I am extremely grateful to him.

My mother is under the supervision of Dr. Abhijit Chattopadhyay who is a very professional surgeon and the hospital is undoubtedly good for eye care. The main issue of this hospital is its mismanagement for what we had to wait for long hours to get a consultation with the doctor and that too for a very short period of time. I personally found that the doctor couldn't attending properly to our cause and taking whimsical decisions for what I have visited almost 10 times with lots of medical tests done but the actual problem of my mother still persist with no proper diagnosis happened so far.

Unnecessarily heckle by the whole team management. Waited for more than 1 and half hour to see a doctor. All the staffs are busy talking with themselves and laughing around. Unless and until I loose my patience and talked with them then the doctor is suddenly free to check you. After doctor's checkup they don't provide you with proper medicines. God knows what management they're running. Totally waste of time. Please don't visit them.

I have been visiting Priyamvada Birla for last 10 yrs....but yesterday's experience was the worst ...service has deteriorated to a great extent.....we did our registration at 11:39 a.m and left at 04:00 p.m the personals attending us at refraction and vision room were polite and swift.This part of the check up was completed by 12:45 p.m.We were told to wait for doctor's check up...the wait started....and finally I was called in for doctor's check up at 3:30 p.m & had my prescription in hand at 3:45 p.m..The nurses in the doctors area are too unprofessional and most importantly they don't value patients time.....the names were not called in order.They won't tell you how many people are ahead of you....or atleast how long you will have to wait...their attitude is like of government hospital staffs.....and they keep uttering "shomaye lagbe" " kotokun lagbe ki kore bolbo".Now people who plan to visit Priyamvada Birla should keep in mind that since you pay an amount of only 350.00 for check up....this is the behaviour you would expect.

Had to wait for more than 1 and a half hours because the doctor has gone for lunch. How is it appropriate I wonder. We have other appointments and now we are getting late because they aren't even returning the document to us.

Dr.Jayanshu Sengupta is an excellent Doctor. Hospital has improved patient care by adding a check up by Hospital physician, which is very good. Hospital need to update/improve it's Councelling staff with latest/ accurate policy information of Hospital in order to avoid giving misleading information by councelling staff to patients.
