'Disha Eye Hospital' is a reputed name in this area.. But I am unsatisfied with their service. The place is totally mismanaged, waiting area was fully crowded with patients but there were only a handful of staffs to handle it. It took more than 3 hrs for a normal eye checkup of mine. Although the behaviour of the Doctor, ophthalmologist and the other staffs were cool and polite for me. At least, they should hire more staffs to get the service done swiftly and also think about the betterment of the services as there are no other Eye Hospitals in Behala area as reputed as them.

Reliable eye hospital and foundation with a value for money proposition. Employees are very friendly and helpful and patient crowd management in peek hour is also too good. Now it needs some more space to accommodate all patients and patient parties together. Apart from that everything is satisfactory.

Attitude of stuffs are like govt hospitals. Even I saw they keep patients waiting and keep on chatting among themselves. They have a process in place, but I found employees are little casual. At times it becomes over crowded and then you can see lot of mismanagement. I found some doctor's assistants were behaving rudely also. Anyway over all it's good and cheap. Treatment and processes are good. Management and services has some improvement scopes in terms of coordination, behaviour, empathy etc.

On the first floor. Lift facility available. In front of the building there is a metro station. 🚏Coming from Taratala = it's on the right side. 🛺🚌You have to get off the bus or auto at Behala chowrasta. Cross the road to the opposite footpath just 2mints walk in distance. 🏍️ 🚗 U turn Restricted🛑. If you are coming from Taratala. Coming from Joka =⬅️ left hand side. 🅿️ Free parking available in building premises.🚗🏍️ On the first floor there is a food stall (Cake, biscuits, water bottle).🍫☕🍰 Toilets( gents & ladies) are there left side of the floor before entering to disha main gate. 🍶🍶Water also available inside the branch. Water drum Located near the doctors chambers located.left side corner. First you have to visit the counter and submit your documents 🧾 and payment 💷💸. After that process begins. 🆘 Try to reach 1hr before the time they given. I'm going on Saturday there was a huge crowd.

Keeping experience I had in consideration, I suggest if you could find any other place for eye treatment, please go there. Staff including doctors are ill behaved and arrogant acting like bofoons! They will never answer how long it'll take for the operation or any procedure. They'll make you sign consent form and all for operation, but if they're administrating any medicine to your patient, they'll not inform you! Complete medical negligence! Although I kept waiting for hours for my uncle, they administered an IV and a tablet without any prior information. When they are giving you a next date for check up, all the patients(yes all the patients) are given same time slot! Bathrooms are dirty and waiting for 5-6 hours becomes additional pain. Also, you cannot take a four wheeler infront of the hospital, as the hospital is much lower than the main road. It is just using the brand name and exploiting the people.

It is a really good place for eye checkup. Everything is very systematic. You can find good doctors here. Treatment for glaucoma is also done here. Fees is only 200/- which is much less than any private doctor's clinic.

Not at all satisfactory, lack of staff and slow process. It took 8 hour for all the paperwork and processes for a 15 mins cataract surgery. Not only the patient but the family members also get exhausted. The only thing they say is, "please wait". As if we are at their mercy, poor medical facility will be everlasting in india.

Very good, satisfactory, reliable and fast services. Eye check up made by machines. ₹-200 charge for normal eye check up. And they will suggest for retina check if you visit over there by bike or alone they will give you another date for retina check up because you won't be able to come back home by your own. As per my recent experience I'm suggesting to visit over there and take someone else with you and carry any sunglass because a eye drops they apply twice on eyes and it will be hard to see the sunlight after retina check up .

My father's operation has been done in this hospital. As the doctor prescribed some eye drops so i purchased it from the medicine shop inside the hospital. The box was sealed, while coming back home when i opened the box of medicine there was nothing inside. After this mishap i called the hospital about the issue. They simply denied the senerio and abuse my senior age father. What kind of a service is given to the customer. We e always treated like we r some illiterate people. Although horrible experience. Wont recomend anybody for this hospital. Even faculty behaviour is also very rude with customers they scream all the time on people

Everything’s excellent…from the process they have in place to the doctors. Overall a good experience but I wish their staff could be a little more friendly….at times they come across as rude….I understand that they are dealing with a lot of people at a time but that’s no excuse to be rude with patients and their family members. The gullible you are the more rudely they behave with you. I’ve deducted 2 stars for this precise reason, as I believe they could be the best if they can manage to provide a good and friendly customer experience. Hope this helps them to improve.

Very poor experience, they just want to finish the waiting row rushy way . I got my first power glasses from a outsider doctor. he is so amiable and gentle, he advised me what should i do to take care of my eyes and what will damage my eye sight. It's a disastrous experience. Disha Behala is absolutely messed up pace. Its not Disha it's 'Bedisha'.Too much gathering, suffocating environment, AC doesn't work properly. Moreover this is a place of complete mismanagement. I took my 5 year old son for eye check up. I entered at 9.30am as I had phone booking and my time was 9.40 am and I ended up at 1.25 pm. Entering in the hospital I found a huge que in front of booking counter. After 25 minuut I 1got my card. Then the check up started. Counter 2 to counter 5 to counter 13 to counter 2 to counter 7 then again 2 finally again counter 13. I spend almost 1 hour in front of counter 2 where are only two doctors checking 100 people. After finishing the check up the typist took another 15 minutest to type the prescription. Horrible.

Worst place for vision test. Optometry part of this Hospital is very bad. They don’t check the vision with care they are always in a hurry to finish the waiting line. I had to recheck my vision as I had doubt what they prescribed and When I rechecked with that power vision was better. Dont waste your TIME and MONEY here. If you want to check your vision go other places but not DISHA hospital or the opticals store(there is always an optometrist who will check your vision very well).

Doctor Chapkali Biswas is very rude... Being a doctor she should be polite..But her behaviour is very rude towards the patient party also..We are paying for the service.. paying to doctor Chapkali Biswas also for her treatment..She is not doing charity by treating patients.. Few staff behaviour are also pathetic.. Hospital would doing their business based on our feedback and review.. They should keep this thing in their mind also..

Staff members are so rude behaving and non co operative. Just opposite to Barrackpore Disha. Sitting arrangements outside the doctors'chambers are insufficient and not well maintained. If you are unable to provide service, please close this branch. This centre is nothing but De famation of DISHA.

I am really sry to say the system is very poor. I knew very well that eye treatment not an easy poces.. Huge check up / drop... After drop.. 120min wait... Then again check up.. But I am not understand abt launch system. All DRs together take launch in a time. Whr is more than 50 patients are waiting. Is it ok. I think if dr get own launch one by one then easy to us. Treatment process also fas.. I am here for my 8yrs old daughter. I am to suffer abt the step by step system to dr chamber..

Need to appoint more quality doctors like dr. Santanu to handle the ever increasing pressure of the patient. If you visit here your entire day will be wasted due to huge delays in patient services.

This is one of the best hospitals for eye treatment in Kolkata. There is a spectacle counter & a medical store for eyes on 1sr floor, on 2nd floor, there is an operation theatre & a resting place for patients after operation. Firstly, you have to take an appointment to visit the doctor on a fixed date over phone or from appointment counter. On that date, go there before 5 minutes from appointment time to pay your bill. They check your eyes in several times with different, modern machines before the final Doctor's check up. But after that, you have to wait for a long time, at least 45 minutes to 1 hour due to treatment of a lot of patients & the whole process is very time consuming. But above all of these, u get here a better treatment at last. P. S. - I went there to do cataract surgery of my father under Dr. Suman Ghosh.

Staffs were cooperative. OPD is a bit congested, provided the volume patients visit everyday. Or it could be because, the volume piles up waiting for the OPD Doctor to visit. However, the doctor we visited., unfortunately, appeared to be impatient, intolerant and rude. I am not sure, if this is becoming a trend now in Kolkata... that some or other doctor in a Clinic or Hospital or Nursing home would be rude with the patients. Would almost say 'get out of here' to bring in another patient. Come on! you are not doing a charity here. And even if you are doing (you must be aware of it), you need to be tolerant and compassionate. If a doctor is having a long tiring day, it might be same for the waiting patient too. I found it really harsh that a senior person tried to explain her problems, and the doctor simply did not want to listen and asked her to move out. The moment I said to my mother (as she was going out) -- neither you could explain properly, nor is she willing to listen. That sparked her attitude. She found it offending. Well! Whatever she was doing there was offending enough and was bound to get retaliated. Trust me, we are not there to debate or argue or offend a doctor. We are their in need. We just expect a doctor to patiently listen out and respond with compassion. I hope, this won't be the case with other doctors. 'Disha Eye Hospital' is a reputed name. We expect a service with compassion and tolerance. I am giving 3 stars for the other staffs, starting from screening checks to the lady who explained the prescription (and with a hope that other doctors in Behala branch are not like this, other patients won't have similar experience as mine). And wish, i could give 2 more for the doctor as well.

Very very bad experience. In this Covid situation, there is large number of patients inside the closed compound. They give time slot at 2.20 pm, but on coming there I saw a huge Mela like situation inside. No time management, no crowd management. Such a disgraceful act in this pandemic time.

  • 4/5 Avik Sen R. 2 years ago on Google
Well exerienced doctors available for consultancy. Went for my wife's eye tests and doctor consultation. Only problem found, there were only 2 optometrist for quite a number of patients. Hence, the queue before their rooms were quite a lot whereas the doctor's rooms were empty. Other than that all the facilities were decent and available a very afrordable price.
