A weird little cafe in the busy bylanes of Gariahat, this cafe's food really is all an experimentation. I would say tiny portions of pretentious food, had it not been for its rather austere ambiance. Nothing extraordinary to write home about. Rather go to other cafes nearby, where portions are good and a menu that actually makes sense. Best avoided!

Visited in Nov 2023 Had to visit Sienna during my trip to Kol since they were ranked the #5 restaurant in India by Conde Nast Traveller. Overall I felt that this is a very good cafe (good food, decent service, nice vibe) but #5 in India may be a stretch. The dumplings were really nice and I’d recommend folks to def try that out. I also liked the pork belly noodle bowl. The drinks menu is also pretty exhaustive and the coffee was decent. Would definitely recommend folks to visit this chic cafe as the vibe and food is pretty good, but temper your expectations if you’ve had meals at the other top 50 places in the CN Traveller list.

This place holds a special charm. I went there with my mother for a delightful dinner, and both of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, thanks to the incredibly friendly staff and the warm, familial ambiance. Now, let's talk about the food. The mushroom, parmesan, and Gobhindobog black rice risotto was among the best I've ever tasted. It easily rivals the finest risottos served in any trattorias in New York City. The roasted pumpkin soup was hearty, and the avocado toast was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of pumpkin seeds and arugula. Overall, our experience was fantastic, and we're looking forward to returning with more family and friends.

Fabulous is the first word that came to my mind when I let my taste buds enjoy the food on offer here. It takes enormous amount of skill, loads and loads of imagination, unwavering courage and above all an unmeasurable amount of love for the craft of cooking to come up with this end result. They overhaul the whole menu twice every week, as claimed by the nice guy who served us. I had seen the chef Koyel Roynandi in one of the popular youtube channel's show. Now I am of the opinion she must be celebrated. In addition I used their stable wifi connection and power connectivity to get a half days office work done from there without any hindrance (apart from the distraction cause by the enormously impressive food off course 😀)

This is legit a world class culinary experience on par with many Michelin restaurants globally. Highlighting traditional Bengali flavors with an ultra-modern twist, Auroni Mookerjee has managed to perfect not only an amazing postmodern take on what fusion cooking is, but also keeping his eye on the flavors and textures that make this probashi Bengali's heart and palate happy.

There are not enough words to articulate how impressive Sienna is in the Kolkata food scene. You can tell they really mean business, and so much care and attention goes into the place. One of my two favorite restaurants in the country (the other being Bombay Canteen). The menus (that change weekly as well as the regular menu) are meticulous, thoughtful, intelligent fusion with the freshest of ingredients and executed with flawless technique. Have never had a mediocre meal here, always exceptional, always surprising.

Hands down one of the best store-and-cafes in the country, run by a great team of talented, curious and professional individuals–Sienna stands out for its distinctness on all fronts. Excellent curation, fantastic products from Shantiniketan, genuinely local with a global outlook. The food is great, and they even get the smaller things correct (gives a sense of their immaculate attention to detail). While there is no shortage of cafes in the city, Sienna's distinctness stands out due to their uncompromising focus on what they stand for, which reflects clearly in everything they offer. I frequently visit the cafe whenever I'm in the city and love to visit their Jodhpur Park branch, which is also quite inviting and cosy. Highly recommended, Sienna has many fans for the reasons stated above; consider booking a table if you plan to visit. If you're an Art Deco architecture fan, do take a walk around the neighbourhood to see some beautiful buildings after a meal at the cafe :)

A beautiful cafe cum store where crafted potteries n stuff is the main attraction. Located near gariahaat this place gives a completely different vibe that you would surely love. Was here with my sisters and in the end, all I can say is Sunday was well spent. The food is very good quality & quantity wise. The beverages rock. Services & hospitality are good too. They also have a cute store where you get real handmade stuff and end up purchasing cute earrings.

Food is really nice. We tried the cheesy egg toast with mushrooms and bacon. And the pulled chicken burger. Both were extreme tasty, didn't expect it to be this good honestly. A tad too pricey I felt as both dishes were priced at ₹ 500, but it very filling as well. Service was fast. Also tried the kombucha, but it can be skipped.

Sienna was at the top of my bucket list during my last visit to “amarbhalobasharshohor”. And it turned out to be a prized experience, in ways I never expected. I went there without any company….and I regret it…for not getting to taste more things that a companion would have ordered. But because I was a solo diner, I got served in their “Baranda” (verandah) which elevated my experience surprisingly to the next level. I was met by a waiting staff (sadly can’t remember his name) who was unassumingly knowledgeable about the menu and patiently helped me when I became a damsel in distress unable to choose what I should try from their bazaar specials. I ordered: - Deshi Dim’er raviolo with black truffle and peyanj koli: The best raviolo I’ve eaten so far - Pot roast with maangsho’r jhol inspired sauce served w/ Yorkshire pudding: Yes…Yorkshire pudding in a Barandah…i teared up and I kid you not. The price point might come across a little expensive to some. But is worth every penny spent…and is unlike the many pretentious low quality neighbouring cafés. Concluding: A place I will never mind returning to, again and again.

Sienna has the vibes, the food and the charm. Upon arriving, it was a little hectic with trying to get a table. The hostess was moving around a lot, on calls, dealing with delivery orders and dealing with customers. But eventually we were able to get a table and we weren’t disappointed with the food at all. We ordered the duck leg confit, Xmas roast with pork belly and honey glazed ham and the makha sondesh. All dishes were absolutely delicious. It felt warm, cozy and like I was enjoying a home cooked meal from grandma. I can’t say much negative about this place except that it does take quite a while for the food to be served. BUT the positive side of that is it is WORTH THE WAIT. I can’t take off any points for that, the food alone is simply that good.

One of the most brilliant places for designer cuisine. Chef Auroni Mookerjee of Sienna Café is doing a fabulous job of bringing new and innovative items frequently. You have to constantly keep visiting to try the awesome delicacies.

I feel this place is both overhyped and overpriced. The ham and cheese sandwich was so dry and even the bacon pasta didn't taste good. The peach lime iced tea was really good. On weekends you've to wait for a table. It's good for a one-time visit and the store is really nice with a good collection of souvenirs. But in terms of food think there are plenty of better and budget friendly options nearby.

Location: Off Hindustan Park, near Gariahat. Service: Very prompt, helpful, pleasant. Ordered: * Mango Smoothie: average taste, blend of mangoes and yogurt, did not have any mango pieces. * Podi Crusted Bhetki with Moilee Gravy and Ghee Rice: soft bhetki fillet with a nice coating of lightly spicy podi masala, moilee gravy was flavourful, perfectly balanced meal, really excellent. * Mango Mille Feuille: flaky crusty strips with soft cream and mango, perfect sweetness, fabulous dessert. Overall, highly recommended! Excellent food, but very high priced.

Cute, little cozy cafe! Pretty adorable & makes your Instagram feed look so beautiful! You literally can’t stop yourself from taking pictures! And the food, not only looks good but tastes good too! BEST CAFE in the city for sure! Highly recommended. They have a regular menu & they also have weekly menus which makes the place even more interesting! Try weekly specials + Cheesy eggs, bacon and mushrooms on toast, Avo guac and micro greens on toast, Aglio Olio, Fried Chicken Burger, Fish & chips, Ravioli & all their home made cakes.

It's a quaint little cafe with a beautiful canopy and an amazing store for hand made items. The coffee is food, the food is delicious, and the quantity is very generous. Do try the Sienna special French fries with three homemade dips and the Fried chicken burger with the Cranberry and Lime ice tea.

In spite of the Sunday evening rush, we didn't have to wait too long to get into Sienna cafe. Once inside, we quickly relaxed as the lights were dim with ambient lighting and sounds of laughter was everywhere. This was our first visit and we were impressed. The service was prompt and courteous. And despite the tight space inside, we were comfortable. We ordered ham and cheese panini, carrot cheesecake, iced vanilla latte and a pourover. The pannini was outstanding. It was delicious and soft at the same time. The cheesecake was not very sweet, just the right amount. The iced latte and the pourover was also superb. All in all , we were impressed by Sienna cafe and it does hold its own in an extremely crowded field

The ambiance is on point. The effort to be eco conscious is visible and implemented. The staff are conversational, the MUSIC thank god is relevant in terms of being contemporary yet subtle. The food portions are excellent, sharing plates is advised, everything on the menu sounds great! The store has great clothes and home ware and little things you can pick up. Definitely on places to go in Kolkata.

Vetki fish fry and chips is the only recommendation, actually it’s the best fry I have ever had. other foods and drinks that we tried are just not even good, keeping the amounts in mind, those drinks and foods are basically 50-60₹ out side.

I along with my gf visited this cafe today i.e on 23rd dec 2020, we came here by seeing the ambience of the cafe on the social media platforms for clicking some good pictures and enjoy the food..first of all when i entered this place with my dslr. a person who looked like the owner came and said we are not allowed to photoshoot here but people there where clicking pictures with the phone..so at first i told i had a page where i would click some nice pictures ..but he said i have to pay5000 for 1 hr for clicking pictures..but few weeks ago we also visited marbellas and pachams adda nearby where we were allowed to use our camera for photography and no permission was required..this didnt make any sense to me as photos are photos be it on phone or dslr..i also told them that i would post the pics of the cafe on social media..with the name of the cafe but they strictly denied and said they dont want any publicity which semmed an arrogant attitude to me. They also warned us of taking legal action...i have never in my life seen such a behaviour from a cafe...i would never this cafe to anyone because of such a rude behaviour

Warm service. Great ambiance. Delectable food. Their vday menu is limited but we enjoyed the two ravioli. The piece de resistance was their dark chocolate strawberry tart. Delectable as a visual and in taste.

Really good food and great service. The servers knew each dish really well and made some excellent recommendations. The cheesecake was excellent as was the noodles and pork belly. Was a bit disappointed they didn’t have avocado but they more than made up for it with the other dishes.

I love this place. My wife loves this place. It is worth spending that extra extra cash on some really good quality stuff. Sienna is one place where I can go without having the worry of being disappointed. Their weekend menu initiative is great. I love the quality ingredients they use in their food, even when the portion size is relatively smaller. Special mention to the serving lady (manager) for her seamless and quick service, handling all the tables by herself. Please please keep your quality up!

Food was good... But we ordered 2 different iced coffees, vanilla and hazelnut, & both tasted the same.. And before we even completed our meals, they asked us to pay the bill bcz other guests were waiting outside.. I used to like this cafe but I feel it's somewhat overrated..

One of the other cute and cozy cafes in Kolkata. One thing that I love about this place is that it’s very eco friendly, from the cute cutlery to the glass bottle Of juice. This place has very earthy vibes. We ordered pasta with basil and pesto, freshly squeezed orange juice , hazelnut latte and Belgian dark chocolate and strawberry tart. The food was good but what I loved the most was the Belgian chocolate tart. The staff was very friendly and informative. They also have a store attached for the shopaholics.

I expected a bit more from this cafe after I saw a lot of pics on Zomato and insta. Menu is too limited. Breakfast options are there but those are a bit costly. Pasta options are and we only took pasta and coffee as nothing much was there. Even a pan fried noodles costs a whopping 600 rupees.

We came here on the recommendation of a food blogger friend. Had a special menu for Durga Puja. We ordered these 1) Dumplings in Lal Jhol - The Jhol (meat gravy) made it a nice fusion with the usual momos. 2) Muro to Lyaja Ilish Thala - This was the best Illish I had in a while. 3) Mangsho Jhol Carnitas - with naan-puri - This was my favourite. The mutton gravy was simply out of the world. 4) Caramel Mishti Doi - Looks like a caramel pudding but tastes like caramel flavoured mishti doi. Very well done. The food was mind-blowing and service was top notch. It was the most sumptuous meal I had in the last few months. The ambience was okish.

All I can say is this place is perfect for your Instagram.. You can get some really cool pictures to showcase your profile along with some good food.. Though I found the food a little bit overpriced.. But overall the ambience won my heart and the staffs are well behaved and courteous..

I ordered a Mutton & Cheddar Cheese Burger. The burger was really nice... With simple yet not so easy to guess flavours.. it was one of those burgers which are relatively simple but well composed and yet not too much going on. We ordered the classic Sienna french fries, the fries were ready different from the ones u get otherwise. There was this dip that i quite liked and never had before.. it was not ur typical mayonnaise which was ths best part. We also the hot chocolate and Gondhoraja lebu ice tea. The hot chocolate was disappointing,the tea was not so great either, had a slight bitter aftertaste. I have been following chef Avinandan and chef Auroni for a long time... And they inspire me to become a better Chef. The work they are doing in making Bengali food more and more modern yet rooted to Barir-Ranna...is worth trying... Can't wait to get back kolkata to explore more of what they have to offer.

Cozy and beautiful

This cafe has been on my "to visit" list for a long time. Finally got the chance to tick off the list in Feb. The thing one notices first is how pretty the place is. The decorations stay with you forever. Cute little lamps and lights all over. A great swing in the corner. Cozy couches for two. Had ordered coffee , hot chocolate, banana Walnut cake and fries. All the food and drinks were good. Although I feel that the menu can be expanded a bit more. And the prices could be lessened a bit. Rest assured you'll have a good time to spend with your loved ones. PS: it is a late review . The recent pandemic has affected our visits and reviews alot. Stay safe.

When I saw this in Google Maps,I fell in love.....and when I finally went there,I fell in love again❤️❤️....the place is just awesome, unexplainable.....you can get several choices of enjoying different axes of beauty and comfort level.....you can go there with friends, soulmate, family and even on your own... service is good,price may seem costly but it's worthy.The place has a rustic and cosy effect on it's atmosphere,interior, lightings, and even on the coupons. You have to reach Golpark first,from there it is accessible easily.And,the Sienna stores....oohh it is nice,you can get handmade dresses, jewellery,and other things.

A small backyard behind the artisan's craft store turned into a cosy lit place with a decor that gives you vibes of pondicherry. Though the menu has limited options but it lived upto the expectations. The avocado tortilla salad was great as was the grilled chicken with olives and dates. But the hot chocolate with marshmallows and date & walnut cake made the cheat day a pure bliss.❤️

The shop decor is very interesting and so is the ambience of the place. Very hip and totally rocking! They keep really nice clothes, trendy and unique accessories as well as some very cool home decor items like pottery bowls and such. Overall a very good place to shop and then chill at the cafe. Highly recommend!
