Cabin
is
a
famous
landmark
on
Surya
Sen
St.
Though
it
looks
insignificant,
this
tea-and-toast
cabin
is
steeped
with
history.
It
is
a
century
old
cabin
and
the
moment
you
step
in
you
get
engulfed
in
the
past
history
of
India
pre
-
independence.
The
marble
top
tables
still
remain
the
same.
There
still
exists
the
wooden
chairs,
though
some
have
been
replaced
with
plastic
chairs
due
to
damage.
The
connect
I
felt
with
history
cannot
be
explained
in
words
as
I
sat
on
a
wooden
chair
and
enjoyed
the
'paan'
cake
(heart
shaped
cake)
on
the
same
round
marble
top
table
no.

(image

where
Kazi
Nazrul
Islam
produced
poetry,
writeups
and
music.
The
cabin
was
a
meeting
place
for
freedom
fighters,
prolific
authors,
all
of
whom
were
instrumental
in
shaping
the
future
of
India.

Cabin
is
a
great
heritage
place
in
need
of
a
facelift.
Hope
some
day
the
owners
get
financial
help
to
maintain
it.
The
place
is
crowded
with
people,
mostly
the
elderly
men
who
live
their
past
over
a
cup
of
tea
and
toast,
cherishing
the
moment.
Tea,
toast,
'paan'
cakes
are
extremely
reasonable.
It
was
a
very
satisfying
feeling
to
be
in
there
and
be
a
part
of
history.
