One of the famous dhaka of Kolkata the city of joy. It open whole night. For Late night craving you should go there. It’s far from Kolkata new market area but it’s ok if you don’t get any food at middle of the night. Balwant Singh Dhaka is always there for you

The worst Doodh Cola ever in Rs. 180. They served that in old unhygienic jug. I have attached photos with this review. Very bad experience. Don't go for the hype.

Location: Near Gurudwara, PG hospital, Harish Mukherjee Road. Prime location. Service: below avarage. Cleanliness: Worst. Unhealthy. Taste of food: Most pathetic+worthless. Price: Unscientific & overpriced. A small tea cost rs 25 , just an ordinary one. It's having only brand value pricing not according to quality. Overall: Not at all recomandable. Overhyped. Will give 1/5.

Balwant Singh Eating House is a good place for quick bite. I have been here several times just for the vibe I get. Good food, ok service, DoodhCola hasn't lost its charm. Reaching here isn't difficult at all.

Many things has been changed till date. Earlier with any Paratha, they use to serve many other things like salad, pickles, curd, etc.which they don't provide now. Also staff behaviour is not at all appropriate. We as a customer have to seat as per the staffs. Where they want we need to seat there. The place is very conjusted. Second they do not provide anything extra with food. Taste out of 5 2. Quantity 3 of 5.. will not recommend, as Balwant Singh dhaba seen 5 years ago was totally different.

Had been to this place. Service was slow but food was yummy and tasty. We ordered Chole Bhature and Mango Lassi. Chole was flavourful yummy and they gave us Aalo sabji also with 2 fluffy bhaturas. Mango Lassi was fresh. Had a nice talk with owner, he said they will complete 100 yrs in 2025. Must visit place in Kolkata.

One of the famous dhaba of Kolkata. It's open almost whole day. It’s nearby from Exide More, Rabindrasadan. Ambiance okay okay type. But quality of foods are awesome. Price reasonable.

Too much hyped and very expensive for what they are providing....Taste of some food item is decent and some food item are below average to okayish but again one can have this quality of food at any other restaurant in almost half price...Ambience is okay nothing fancy (both ac and non ac)...If you really want to have a experience for one time then go else nothing worthy to come here...and yess last point how did that doodh cola is so famous here its the weirdest, costliest and disgusting thing i have ever tried i will chose a normal cola anyday over that weird thing

If you r in Kolkata, then u should visit this place at midnight. It's like a club middle of a street. And the chai of this place arguably the best u can find in the midnight. It also offers veg foods, at a very reasonable price.

The food is delicious! We went their for breakfast and had paneer partha and aloo paratha and then we had tea. The seating space is a bit crunched and the price is on the higher side but it definitely worth going more than once. Cant wait to try out other things here. Tea : 50 Paneer paratha: 150 Aloo parathe: 130

Food is good overall , but I believe this is no longer a value for money place. If a non regular customer comes over, expecting typical Dhaba like prices , he might do well checking up on the menu card ,before ordering . For people , who have made Balwant Singh Dhaba a part of their daily / weekly schedule ; I don't think the price angle will play any meaningful role .

Main course food was great but I honestly didn't like the tea and found it overpriced and also had to ask for tea 3 times even after ordering it with the menu and then only we got it. Rest, it's very hygienic and the atmosphere is great. Kulcha and Mushroom kadhai was great though!

Very nice cafe with multi tier and multi level seating. It has lip smaking food and decent arrangements. The prices are a bit upscale but the quality and portions are justifiable enough. We sat at the first level which air conditioned seating. Then we moved to go to the next level which is outdoor seating. This is available at two levels. Finally we went to the topmost level and had a candle light dinner at a top covered partially open place with dim lights. It was absolutely magical ! Except of course the heat and humidity which is obvious. I would say one should definitely do the candle light dinner during spring or winter when this would be expected to be flawless. Take your partner for this during winters and I am sure your experience would be really romantic.

The best Punjabi food in Kolkata. Better than Balle balle dhaba or any new dhabas. This is the oldest Punjabi dhaba in Kolkata. The behaviour of the waiter was very good and I tipped him a decent amount of money for his high level of service. Had a wonderful time. We ate butter tandoori and paratha and lassi and jalebi and malai kofta. They are also very respectful to all kinds of customers.

Order doodh cola upon returning to Kolkata after 10 years. Not the same quality, in 1 L of doodh cola, there's barely 10ml of milk. The quality has lowered unfortunately. Recommend to skip it if you're planning to visit. Filthy toilet to say the least.

Better to go to Gupta Brothers( just 20 steps )than this place as it's a very average place, didn't get why it's so hyped maybe due to it's prime position. But it's ginger tea was so full of ginger that I wasn't able to taste any milk or tea flavour. Also its grilled sandwich ₹140 was so average taste wise that you would expect from any other place at a lower price. This place is overpriced as per quantity and taste. Ginger tea about 100ml was ₹70.

The best breakfast in town, undoubtedly. They are operating brilliantly even during the lockdown with proper measures. Went there early in the morning at around 5 am. The tea is out of the world. So are the nimkis. Had a plate of mini kachoris (club) which comes with 5 pieces in a plate and a plate of kachoris (big ones) which comes with 4 pieces a plate. The plate will have a bowl of one of the best sabjis, pickled chillis, a red sweet chutney with coriander-chilli chutney. Super breakfast done within 150 bucks for two. There will be no problem with parking.

Most of the people of Kolkata visits this place only cause of its tea and authentic Cola milk. They got a restaurant too and the food is really good. Probably due to the lockdown and a decrease in crowd, the quality of the food have completely decreased. Even I have never expected a low quality tea for a 30 bucks from them. It was such a disappointment. I would suggest you to visit after things goes better and not during this lockdown. Unfortunately I couldn't take pics of it to share.

I don't know why people like this place and crazy about Balwant's tea. I didn't find it that great. For an average cup of tea they charge ₹30.00 more over stinky smell and over crowded. I had a kulfi outside the shop don't know if its related with this shop or not but it was more of a frozen ice then kulfi. So would not recommend that.

Great Punjabi food. Dhaba style khana. Prompt service. Tea is very famous here, although I found it good but not as much as it's hyped. You have option to dine inside, or if you are going by car, they will serve in the parked car too. N.B. If you are looking for a posh restaurant, this is not one of them. Ambience and hygiene wise it's a "OK" place, but the food is delicious.

Tea is an aromatic beverage prepared by pouring hot or boiling water over cured or fresh leaves of Camellia sinensis, an evergreen shrub native to China and East Asia.[3] After water, it is the most widely consumed drink in the world.[4] There are many different types of tea; some, like Chinese greens and Darjeeling, have a cooling, slightly bitter, and astringent flavour,[5] while others have vastly different profiles that include sweet, nutty, floral, or grassy notes. Tea has a stimulating effect in humans primarily due to its caffeine content.

The place is famous for chai at night ! Yes " Make chai and not war " !! Do visit this place at night, it has a different vibe all together !! But yes this is a vegetarian restaurant ! But no doubt their food is far better than any other restaurants nearby serving 24×7 !!!

Went here during Puja times.. people say food quality goes down during Puja but this restaurant was exceptional.. food quality was up to the mark and it was served fresh and hot... The restaurant is a bit expensive though. There is also an option of drive through. It stays open till late night which is good for bike riders or tourists. Attaching pics of the restaurant and the food we ordered here : 2 plates Jeera Rice 1 plate Paneer Butter Masala 1 plate Dal Makhani 3 cups of Special Balwant Tea 1 packet french fries

I'm very obsessed with this place. From 2002 I'm visiting this place. But now a days I realize that food quality is not up to the mark as price. Other wise is taste good but not mouth watering and even the tea, it's increase the price and decrease the taste. Last week I tasted a burnt tea for 50rs. Maybe it's happened for huge order and gathering. Service are good and friendly. Good place for dine in with family. Environment also nice.

The power of social media has made this eatery a much more exciting place for any newbie. Rs. 50-80 for tea, and that also sells like hot cakes can make you imagine how much traffic they attract on a daily basis and speaking about festive days, they might hardly get time to rest for a minute. One very interesting thing I discovered was that they serve on driveways as well, which means if you come here in your four wheeler they will attend you there which means that you can enjoy your food inside your car also. Pricing is on the expensive side but not that expensive. The quantity to price is not that great and I think they are on a more quality side which is good. I tried Amritsari Paneer Chur Chur Kulcha, and the taste was best as it almost reaches the taste of Amritsar but the quantity may disappoint for someone. The pack charges are extra so keep that in mind also. Overall the place is good, on the 1st floor there they had an Ac restaurant as well to spend some family time or friends fun time. (Costing varies for some items in the AC spaces so keep that in mind.) Try to come on normal days only. Happy food experience to all 😌

Today we visited here with our team. It was my 1st time and experience was so good. The food and service and the atmosphere is perfect. There has so much different type of food options. They don't have much parking place. It's in a good location. You should try and go there to spend your time. 💕😘

Today we visited the Balwan Singh Dhaba. Basically this Dhaba is over Hypd And over price, In my journey, I can experience. This is the worst Dhaba, I ordered Kadai Paneer and I can give one out of 10, I have planned my dinner with my friends, but Balwant Singh Dhaba spoiled my day I’m not recommending to this place to anyone.

It’s all about Taste, taste and taste. Loved the kulcha. Try the aloo pyaz wala. The puri aloodum was also good. The ambience was of a typical small cozy dhaba. The owners have taken all the effort to preserve the authentic taste rather than make in a fancy. The Tea was strong and I had an extra.

If you are craving for chur chur naan & kulchas all same as Punjab then this is one & only option in kolkata with taste almost same as that. But atmosphere is not that great & is like any normal kolkata street food points with hugely crowded.Again parking near to this is a challenge especially on pick hours.

Among the best budget places to go for breakfast in Kolkata. My personal favorite is aloo pyaaz paratha and chai, they make amazing parathas and had large varieties of paratha very crowded because of student area it open till 4 am if you are having late night craving you can order from here you'll surely love the taste 😋

😐 Simply come here for the atmosphere and history. Nothing should be eaten here. Cold coffee was a letdown. It was cold water that had been sweetened with a pinch of coffee. The fish kaviraji was satisfactory. Despite the fact that there is a no-smoking sign on the premises, I observed people smoking...

👍👍 Recently visited this place and trust me, it was worth every penny. The ambiance was great. We had Mutton Chello Kebab. The kebabs were very juicy and tender, I couldn't stop drooling! The egg yolk was runny and just perfect. The rice portion had a nice fresh smell and all together it was magical in...
