Great experience, spent almost 90 minutes in queue and got the entry denied. 10/10 will try again! Tip for noobs: don't laugh ironically when the guy at the entrance reject you, unless you want to risk to be banned for life, like probably I am!

I wonder how people put their self in a position to be kicked out by security guards at the entrance. There is no sign of humanity there. I would say it’s a really disappointing place in the 21st century. A message for those who enter the club: there is no achievement for you! Be clever! When you enter, just think about the people who were rejected without any reason. Just think how they are broken. If you understand that, it will be annoying for you to stay there. That’s what I did. If all the people leave that club together🤝, they don’t dare to reject people randomly without giving any reason 👊. I hope one day this comes true. 👉I’m pretty confident that it will finally happen.🙂

2023: If you're lucky enough to experience what Berghain has to offer... oh golly. What a fest for the senses, the main stage is peck level techno, the holy grail for any fan. Unlike many other places, there was virtually no pushing even given the numbers, everyone moved with diligent spacial awareness. The Panorama Bar is equally as enjoyable and offers partial solice from the main area. Berghain's probably the greatest techno experience to be had. *****

This is a tough one to rate. I have been rejected more than once and was allowed to enter once. Whenever I go rejected, I could not make a sense of it. I was dressed well, as in what society thinks is well dressed and I love electronic music. After waiting for over 5 hours in the cold and getting rejected I even promised to myself to never try entering ever again. But half a year later I saw my favourite DJ was playing there, so I decided to give it a try. I went with the intention to see my favourite DJ play and did not felt entitled to enter. Also, I did not dress to impress, but rather dressed to feel well with myself. This time I was allowed to enter and it was the best party I have ever been to. Everyone inside was super kind and mindful with one another. The music was perfect and the night one to remember. The experience was so good, that it made up all the past bad ones. In hindsight I am thankful to have been rejected all the times before, because all those times I did not have the necessary level of respect for the club, the djs and the people going there. I was just trying to enter to "have the Berghain experience", as if it was an attraction on my To-do list. Would you invite someone to your house, if those people just wanted to visit your house for the sake of having visited it?

I came alone here during my first visit to Berlin. It’s amazing there is somewhere you can be yourself fully. The sense of security and privacy I had felt great. The music was insanely good and it really is any techno lover’s dream! The bass hits your body in a way that I cannot describe. The start of Freddy K during the Easter party was by far my favorite. The lounge above panorama is a great place to meet people. Everyone I met there is so caring, welcoming, and generous. They have the best espresso I have ever tasted in my life! The ice cream bar is lovely and the prices aren’t high. They even sell bananas and sandwiches! Great place to recharge!

Incredible place, visited back to back on two days. Friendly bouncers, visited in a group of 3 (guys) and had no issues. Saw a lot of people rejected as there's a vibe there, no sports gear just pure love inside. Main room has such a good sound system.

5/5 door staff - some of the best head pets and belly rubs. Told me I was a good boy. 1/5 garden - smelt of other dogs otherwise would of been 5/5. 3/5 lighting - as a dog I can only see black and white lights. 5/5 music - tail wouldn't stop wagging all night.

What’s up what’s up buckle list check. We were here before Christmas and luckily before the lockdown. Already know they are very selective in terms of customer. And I don’t know why we got in to be honest. Maybe it was not a such busy day. Waited for hours I think. We also went to do a fast test before. The music was really good. Very open minded people are here.

We were a boy and a girl and except from the fact that people who knew the doorman took our turn, we went there and they heard that we were talking in Greek to each other and told us good night for no reason. We were dressed appropriately ,we talk German and we are big techno fans. I find it racist. I understand that they want a specific dynamic for the place but in that case I don't believe that was the problem. Don't agree with that and won't try it ever again. Cheers

Awesome. Was in line for 4,5 hours and when we arrived at the door with less than 10 people in front of us, they closed the door because they were full. 5 out of 5 stars. Would come back to be disappointed again.

The club is 1000% an amazing experience. It’s unlike any club I’ve ever visited. The place is huge, you can truly get lost in the dark with the techno music beating in the back. For those of you coming here writing bad reviews because you didn’t get in. Going to Berghain is like getting the job you what. The “exclusivity” is what drives people to come and wait in a line for two hours in the first place. I visited for the first time two weeks ago and had no issues getting in. The bouncers were fine. People need to stop complaining about the bouncers! They are doing their jobs! Here a few tips if you’re scratching your head. Again these are just my opinions. 1. Look cute, don’t look basic or plain Jane . If you can…look edgy. Think chic and unique. You don’t have to spend money to be creative or noticeable. If you’re with a group, let the best dressed guide you. 2. Look/ appear confident, cool and collected when you’re at the door 3. Don’t say much when you get to the front of the line 4. Put your phone anyway and live in the moment when you get to the door. 5. Your group matters. It’s about an aesthetic, a vibe. 6. Take the time to look up and know at least one or two of the DJs playing

Only way to get in as a tourist: 1. Look sleek and expensive (Suits, watches, High-heels, Designer Dresses). It’s true, wear dark shades. 2. Skip the normal line and go directly to the bouncer for VIP entrance, tell him you want to book a table there and want to spend a lot of money (at least 100€) 3. This works 90% of the time. If not, go to the Matrix club, which is currently the hottest insider tip in the Berlin nightlife scene. Thank me later.

We were waiting in the queue like 4 hours, and we didn't get in. But.. that makes Berghain the most interesting and wanting club. The fact that you can wait a hole day in the rain, and it's not sure that they will let you go.. We were really sad, because Berghain was the thing we went to Berlin. Next time we will try again. Don't be sad if they don't let u in. Maybe It's not the right time for you.

So soviele wunderschöne Menschen kennengelernt. One World one Future. The Love is the Most powerful Thing in the Univers.. Insta: @chrisgalaxy888 Peace Love and Harmony All Over the World ❤️ Dankeschön ☺️

Biggest Berlin cliché itself. Tourists queuing for hours in their black uniforms without talking and smiling … just to be rejected in seconds by the bouncers. Quite interesting to watch actually. (Photo taken on a Sunday morning). The Soundsystem is so amazing and also the line up. In case you are not fully into techno you can go there for concerts as well (for sure mostly electronic music). The venue itself is the highlight, a former fright depot. High ceilings in the main room and the basement feels like a little labyrinth. Don’t get lost in the laboratory at snax. On Friday just Panorama Bar is open, but it’s easier to get in. It’s quite nice actually. From sat to mon it’s the real one. Klubnacht. Undress and enjoy the beat. The bouncers are actually very nice. For sure they can’t explain and discuss every case when hundreds of people are already queuing for hours. That’s simply not possible. Please get over it and try your luck at Renate, Sisyphos, Kater Blau or Watergate. It’s not the end of the night … neither of the world.

    • Club: The sound system is the best I've heard so far (among other clubs in Berlin). So is lighting system. • Atmosphere/ vibe: Dark, smoky, industrial, hazy, sweaty, filthy and sexy. It's easy to see a diverse range of people there. That surprised me when I got in for the first time! Because before that, I was rejected once and I thought the strict (and random) door policy does not end up in diversity. • Conclusion: The best club in Berlin (yet definitely overrated). When you are leaving it, you are sure that you need to be there at least once again!

I know. The door policy is harsh and who gets in will feel undoubtedly lucky, special or “the chosen one” 😜 But I also think that the door policy is also a very smart dynamic to make the experience (in case you get in) unforgettable. The club is very unique and really, not everyone can enjoy themselves there. Berghain is not just a club, it’s an institution. And if you really love music and absolute freedom you should definitely try endlessly to enter. Good luck ✌🏼

Eagerly wanting to try one of the best nightlife experiences in the world, we chose Berghain and read about it a lot to be able to get into the club, and here are my tips: First things first, there is always a long queue, and the party is ongoing (you can enter in the evening or in the morning). We tried to enter early Sunday, we waited in queue in the cold for 50 minutes 1. Do wear full black. 2. Try not to be extra fancy, just casual wear, you can as well wear a dress or short heels. 3. Do not use your phone while in queue, leave it in your pocket. 4. Do not laugh out loud, try to look serious. 5. Do not show stress or excitement, be cool. 6. It's better to be in small groups. 7. They sense your vibe, so if you are not someone that is free of judgements and ready to cross different cultures, then this might not be your destination in the first place. 8. Search the name of the DJ because they might ask at the door. 9. Although not necessarily, but it is better to answer them at the door in German, questions might be how many persons/ who is the dj tonight. 10. If you get rejected, stay cool and don't make a scene, you can always try another time. Note that taking photos is not allowed inside (they will cover your phone cameras). The party experience is one of the kind and should be definitely on your list. Although the place is great to party, they have several dark rooms - I did not go into any of these but if you are into this as well you can. It is not as hard do get in as long as you're a judgment free person and follow these rules. Enjoy your time ♥️.

Wanted to see the building as i learned it was ex power station, had no intention to go inside, took a photo of the building, bouncer ran towards me started to shout and swear at me that its not allowed to take pictures. I said its allowed as per law and building is protected by UNESCO which is peoples heritage and i have all rights to stand here and take photos of the building. He continued swearing at me, he was extremely violent. Sorry but i would never even try to go inside, as staff behaviour is absolutely inappropriate and i felt unsafe. By the way here are the pictures.

I had the most memorable night if my life last night. It all makes perfect sense now. There were thousands of people and absolutely no negative energy whatsoever........that's a testament to their door policy. If they didn't so what they do, the place would lose it's capacity to nurture comfort, freedom of expression and the ability to have fun without restraint. I found the doormen to be polite but firm......they are doormen after all, not air stewards. The music was perfection. The space was perfection. Even the chaos of the toilets was oddly perfect. It's a special place and I think it goes way beyond the hype. Dancing and being yourself is harder and harder to do these days, but if you yearn that......the Berghain ticks all the boxes. Thank you Berghain. T

One of the best sound system of the world, also a superb light show, all of this with djs like Boris, Virginia, Steffi, DVS1, Mulero or Freddy K behind the decks. When you ask for a proper party Berghain always delivers. When Halle is opened is also a great place to be. Garten in summer is super fun. Have fun in what I think it is the best techno club in the world!🔊

Berghain was to me a great outdoor experience ever since I never entered the club. The first time I waited 2 hours in front of the club, but was told by the bouncers it was a waste of time and left. Everyone in the line was being patient, calm and respectful towards others. No pushing, screaming or anything disturbing. We had a good chat with some frenchmen. Remember to dress up as a combination of Christiane F, Marilyn Manson and Sharon Needles. Second time my friend asked the bouncers if she could borrow the toilet since there was no one in line, but was very kindly told to use an outdoor toilet. She gave that toilet 4 stars. My friends tries a second time to ask if she could might get in, but was told no, because she took a picture of the club from the outside. Is it too late to say sorry? If not, we'll see you at summertime again. It's simply too cold to wait outside in January.

Amazing club. Everyone inside is odly nice and welcoming. If you have fear that the door policy might lead to pretentiousness, instead it seems like they are selecting primarily 1. Can you party hard 2. Are you genuinely authentic 3. Are you a nice person. The last one is what makes it such a great night.

An inclusive space for various interests! I was captivated by the diverse crowd, witnessing genuine happiness as people enjoyed their unique ways of having fun. The club stands as one of the top techno spots globally, despite potentially daunting lines. Still, it's worth experiencing at least once!

Berghain only let ugly people in tonight. Haven't been before but presumably that's the big secret behind their entrance policy as it was mostly younger, conventionally good-looking/well-dressed women who were turned away (not an uncommon problem with female bouncers as jealousy is likely a factor). This happened even when the women in question wore all black. In my case, the bouncers claimed that their decision wasn't race or age-related when asked but the only black person I saw them let in was a middle-aged man with a poorly-dressed white friend there to vouch for him. On my way to the venue, reactions from some of the other guests(?) suggested that black people aren't typically welcome at Berghain. Having seen some of the other reviews, I have a hard time believing that they don't at least have a serious xenophobia problem. They seem to be tricking foreigners who know German into speaking English to them at door as well and using that as an excuse. And the entrance price appears to have gone up by 11€ since some of the blogs posts I've seen were written about it. Doubt it's worth it. All in all, I suppose it's just as well that they're closing down soon. Good riddance!

When my friends said we were going to Panorama Bar I had no idea what to expect but I can honestly say it is the best club I've ever been to anywhere in the world. The sound system was amazing and the people all super friendly. The guys at the door were really nice. They let me and my friends in without any problems. When I went inside I realized why they were so strict about phones and not taking photos it's a bit of a wild place but everyone was super respectful. As for the comments I think people like to exaggerate. And those not let in are upset but the guys at the door obviously are getting something right because a place is great and that has a lot to do with the people they let in. Advice, make an effort when getting ready, wear black have a good attitude and be friendly.

Berghain is unlike anything else in this world. It is not just a techno club... it's a community, a safe space for true freedom, hard-techno lovers and more than anything, diversity. It is not a place for close-minded or prejudiced people. If you don't get in, it's simply because you're not ready to get in. Your nationality, the colour of your skin, what language you speak or don't, what you're wearing, none of that matters. Once you experience the place for the first time, you will truly understand and appreciate the job that the bouncers at the door do, and what they're trying to protect inside.

This is not just a club , this is an experience, a portal to another dimension that you would only reach through the door of Berghain, what you will never be able to explain to someone who's never been inside, it's like a dream you only realize while you're dreaming. And why it works is because every single person who's inside, belongs there, and the doorman knows it and wants to keep it this way, otherwise, it's ruined. If you are rejected, it's not because of how you look, it's who you are and what your personality is like. Don't be hurt. If you are not ready for it, Sven will sniff you out of the line and send you home. Those who get in, know they belong inside, they don't stand in the line to try to get in, they stand in the line to get in, because it's made for them, they know it, the doorman knows it, that's why he's at the door.

We started to stand in line at 14:15 on a Sunday, 31.10.21. After approx. 7:45h, we finally got to the very front. In the end, we couldn’t enter as it just turned 22:00. II think it would have been great inside. I don’t think it’s fair to give this place a bad rating just because of the waiting time or one being rejected, but they could do something so that people can’t easily skip the queue. It happens way too often and was in my case why I couldn’t get in at the end.

The soundsystem is a beast, very unique and raw. Top it up with great DJs. The crowd is also very engaged. No problems getting in, I was really not dressed as a mainstreamer as the rest of the que. But had no problems. Even had a cap on, guess the only one there. But I was purely there for the sound and club experience and guess the club people sensed it somehow. Berghain is so raw, a powerhouse, a place to experience in Berlin.

This place has earned the right to be called the best techno club in the world. The sound quality is extraordinary, and the magic begins as soon as you step inside. If you weren't allowed in, don't get angry with the bouncer. Perhaps you simply don't fit into this atmosphere.

So people always told me that this was the place to go to when in Berlin. The door is rough they said. Been in the Garten last weekend and I have to say, it's actually pretty cool. There was no waiting line outside, music was great, the sound system is really really good and I was surprised by dancers from all the different generations. So cool! Definitely a must see.

One of the most unique places I've been in the world. There's a vibe check at the door. They don't arbitrarily turn you away. They turn you away if you look like you're a tourist, will just stare at people, are awkward, have bad intentions, can't get with the vibe or don't like techno music. What you end up with is the people who do make it in are all beautiful people who are just looking to have a good time and express themselves freely. It's actually a great system. It gets rid of all the bad actors in regular clubs and creates a very safe space. Honestly I wish more clubs were like this. If you didn't get in: maybe you were just unlucky or maybe you should check your intentions for going before trying again.

(Translated by Google) A very spacious and sterile building that is now advancing as a club. The thing is that due to the high crowds, every visitor has to expect a waiting time of around 30 minutes before entering. But it can also take longer. Regardless, inside the pleasure palace you can let out the everyday stress and party properly. If the event is right, then the evening is also right. Have fun! Service waS very good, not too big a wait for meal. Don t bother about price, just have a meal and watch the waiter carrying 6 steins at once what a feat. Best meal and drink yet.

used to love it here, now I’m not feeling safe there anymore. They’re letting in any douche bag to get money. Now the majority is creepy guys harassing or staring at you non stop and straight couples. Music, sound system, light and art still top notch but that won’t change the fact that the door is not doing their job properly or they should get awareness teams

Was there back in 2019.Went on a friday and was wearing white, they didn't let me in. Went back on saturday and did wear black and was able to go in, but not my friend. You never know why they reject you, and it's a shame they have this rule. Once inside however the music was fantastic and very good atmosphere. Did like I was able to go back to my hostel and come back on a sunday. Cool experience, but wouldn't go back again to do a 3 hour line.

It is a wonderful place. The music and its quality is one of the best in Berlin. The garden is cute a bit small but due to the pandemic not much more can be offered. Over all I enjoyed Berghain every time I went and I am sure I will do so in future as well. You can tell this place is built by real artists and every time I am there I feel like making part of a stunning performance.

Been fortunate to be allowed inside several times. I can see this place not being your “jam” if you are not into techno. But to those of us that are truly there for the music, an experience like no other. Best bet is wearing black. Avoid street wear

This is literally a fashion club. Maybe it was a real dance club back in the days. Now it's just a bunch of people trying to prove themselves as underground berliners with fancy clothing. Bouncers are dressed like boomers going to the mall for dinner, and then judge you from head to toe. A single piece of wrong clothing is enough to not get you in. If you look from South America, you better take fashion classes before trying to get in, because it's almost impossible. Security people are rude and disgusted by the way you look or dress.

The most iconic techno club in the world. Going there is an experience by itself starting at the door queue and it can take certain time to get or not get in. Passing the door is not easy but the party inside feels like it will never stop. An absolutely exclusive club experience in industrial style with many steel and glass materials, just in Berliner style. The sound system in the dark room is absolutely flawless and definitely makes you get into the music. The people are all for the fun but you have to be patient with the staff in this place.

Went on a Sunday afternoon. Waited in line for about 20 mins. I wore all black, but I queued with 2 friends and they were in colourful clothing. 2 more friends queued separately. There were 5 of us in total. Bouncers didn’t really talk to us apart from gesturing how many we were. We showed 3 fingers and in we went. Atmosphere is brilliant. It really is a place to be free and enjoy yourself. Anything goes as long as you don’t bother anyone else. I mean anything. Berghain in my opinion is better than Panorama Bar, which is one floor up. Better sound, more space, well ventilated. Music was more hard-house/ electronic than techno. Loads of chill out areas, coffee, sandwiches and ice cream to keep you going for the entire weekend. There is a dark room, surprise surprise. €18 entrance (Feb 2020). You’ll receive a wristband. €5 more to come and go the entire weekend. Relax, let go and enjoy x

Best sound system. Amazing venue and cheap drinks. Dark rooms were a bonus. Be aware that they may turn you away if they decide you are not right for their place. Edited on 1/24/2021: i miss this place and i wish things get back to normal and i can travel to Berlin again. I will not miss out this club if i m in Berlin. The best sound system and coolest people i have met there. Dress causal, cool, hip in dark colors guys! Love!!

I used to live in Berlin and went here a few times. Brought friends in. It is a sick club. Both the main floor and panorama bar are great. But now I don't live in Berlin anymore I find it silly they let people queue for hours and then turn people away. There are clubs elsewhere in the world which are great too, have the best DJs and sound systems, let everyone in and you still have a good vibe.

My boyfriend tried to get into it 5 times, to think there's racism against people with dark skin... He's fascinated by you, by the selection of your artists. He's constantly looking at things about you, and wants to learn more every day. He came alone, accompanied. He's tried everything... you've shattered his dream. It's really sad. He even asked to just buy a book, you refused him that. Even I blame you. The club isn't what it used to be.

If access to information about the club and taste in music failed to separate the crowd, the bouncers will ensure the semi-private nature of these public spaces by refusing admission to those who don't belong (Thornton, 1995)

I love this place! The best sound system at least in the city, great music quality, great people, nice atmosphere and design. Ice cream bar has delicious ice cream! Waiting is annoying but come on, you can just finish all your todos on the phone or at least listen to an audio book😄 once I was there for a NY eve and it was fantastic! For sure it’s the place I’ll visit again and again🖤

if your lucky you get in . if your German it helps. as I noticed they like older crowd and specially locals . they don't like someone new or doesn't speak German.. I saw kids get in on the guest list who didn't even wear black who was like 17 and was wearing football jersey.. it's insane if you know someone who can get you guest list.. I traveled to berlin and have been a Raver for 15 years . wore black Ravin clothes and partied in all places in Berlin and had a blast everywhere. berghain was only the place which door policy is so weird.. it's all about connections.. guest list guest list.. or if ur super lucky . better to to other clubs and have a good time . this was my experience

It was the expectation , that passed right away , and as we walk in , it’s a magic of techno músico , serious, to the core of it. The space , huge two dance flors. Coffee shop, ice cream parlor and bars and so many other places! It’s fun , the music shakes your soul, it’s a blessing of a serious techno music club . Man, women, trans, lesbian, anyone who is in Berlin and part of Berlin knows. We got in at 11 am on Sunday , we went home at 11p. Got back at midnight and danced until Monday morning! This is one wonder you MUST ATTEND!

(Translated by Google) Once through the door bienvenue, welcome to the Berghain adventure that those who are turned back are jealous of (and there's plenty). Everyone can experience their delirium there, without judgment. You have to experience it once in your life. Phew line-up (especially during Klubnacht) Photos prohibited otherwise it's the door. Dress is absolutely no guarantee of entry and speaking a foreigner reduces your chances! To come back, they put a tampon on the arm. Everything allowed except the telephone. Mega sound system, cheap conso. Changing rooms on the ground floor, Berghain upstairs then Panorama above. Possible to rest on sofas or swings. Backroom also available. Crazy heat on the dancefloor ☺️😆😜The dream for any techno addict. Possible to return with the tampon by queuing on the right. Attention for those who do not know not to confuse the entrance to the Lab on the left with that of the Berghain which is in front.

(Translated by Google) We also visited the exhibition initiated as a result of the pandemic to support the club culture a little. It was very interesting to see the inside of the most famous club in Berlin. We found the exhibition a bit too wildly mixed up, a concept could not be recognized. There was just everything to see that the artist friends have produced recently. Somehow likeable, but also a bit chaotic and very crowded. We were there as part of a tour to have the art explained to us at least a little. Although our tour guide was very nice and competent, I have to complain that you couldn't understand much because the music was very loud. Moving closer together was of course not a solution due to the pandemic, so I would suggest headphones for the future. The guys in the cloakroom were very nice too. Unfortunately, photos are not allowed (cell phone cameras are masked). Because of the architecture, it's definitely worth taking a look at Berghain, so I give you a clear recommendation!

So, got there for klubnacht, amazing experience, great sets. For food i had some icecream which is really good, ofc i got me a banana after that, i had coffee in icebar at Sunday 17:40 i think lol. The Female bartender is extremely attractive. Atmosphere is amazing after all, there is no place like Berghain anywhere in the world. 11/10

  • 4/5 Nicklas L. 3 months ago on Google New
The venue is very big you can walk around and explore in between dance breaks. The art installations are memorable and the ice cream is good. Is it worth the massive queues after you’ve done it once, not really. So don’t come to Berlin just for this, you might build it up to more than what it can deliver.

😐 Look, this is a decent burger. If we were allowed to give halves it would be 3.5 / 5, because it lacks a bit in seasoning and flavour.
