This is the only place in India to see all Indian Meteorite falls. A great experience indeed. Invite all to visit. Just contact GSI office there. Schools and colleges may also visit with prior information from GSI. It's located in the 7th floor.

Geological Survey of India, central headquarter at Kolkata is located on Kyd Street in Central Kolkata region. The address is 15 A & B Kyd Street. It is located at the back portion of the main campus. A beautiful pond is located in front of the building. It is well connected through road and it is also accessible through Metro railway service as Park Street Metro Station is not far away from here.

What a scam! This is no museum. NOT OPEN TO PUBLIC, even tho these are Indian treasures. Just some guards looking to hassle you. Try to get permission ahead of time, but don’t expect them to answer the phone.

One of it's kind in India. Repository of priceless specimens of Indian and foreign Meteorites....the repository is kept open on specific days for public viewing. GSI being the premier geoscience organization in India is the nodal agency and custodian of all these meteorite specimens

The scale and the breadth of work by this august institution defies imagination. It is practically impossible to find so much geological expertise under one umbrella as the Geological Survey of India!

Best for gemstone testing in Kolkata. Affordable and trusted government certified lab report have be given for many years. For my emerald testing they charged ₹1204 where igi kolkata asked for ₹6500 for emerald testing. Nowadays where mostly fake gemstone sales people must test before wearing. GSI kolkata lab is very good and reputed. Submitted your gemstone before 1pm and get report in 2 days. There also OTS (on the spot ) test service for extra money. Go with a ID/addhar card. Its beside Indian musiam kolkata.

GSI not put the image of gemstone in issued test report, So, there are not proper traceability even not mentioned the size/ mesurment of stone. So, any gem seller can do dublicate certificate by given best quality gems. ** This test house not provided good quality of test certificate
