When you visit, you can't withhold the respect for this place.❤️ It has 4 floors full of dolls, toys and other items. It will take all day if everything is desired to be seen fully👌. It has two halls depicting the epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata via model art. Today when a child walks into Nehru Children's Museum, he walks into a world of treasure. It touches the imaginative mind and encourages him to know more. The exhibits in the museum which are spread over 4 floors, enable a child to take off to the world of epics, the world of science and to dream world😍. This museum is built because Nehru ji has a huge affection with Children and Children also use to love Chacha Nehru a lot. You can come here with your family bringing kids. This place is so good and knowledgeable to know the history about Ramayana and Mahabharat. So I suggest Parent's must bring their kids in this lovely well maintained museum.

It offers lot of educative information for the children which they must learn. The museum is closed for maintenance on Monday and Tuesday. Several activities are organized inside the museum often.

It's a toy Museum, there is a large collection of toys of different types. The place also has models of indian epic stories of mahabharat, one can even donate toys here I think and if the donation is accepted then your name goes along with your toy on display. Children would enjoy here and even if you are grown up like me, you can visit there at least once to check out the things we all loved so much back when we were kids.

I visited this Neheru Children's Museum last year. I will recommend all to visit this place once and see how the two Indian Epics namely "Ramayana" & "Mahabharata" is narrated with the help of wonderful clay models. Other than this many dolls are also showcased which shall attract your Child's Attention for sure. Lastly will say that the place is well maintained.

It is a great place to visit for kids and it runs solely on donations! When you visit, you can't withhold the respect for this place. It has 4 floors full of dolls, toys and other items. It will take all day if everything is desired to be seen fully. It has two halls depicting the epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata via model art. It's really wonderful! They also sell greeting cards made by the children who are enrolled there. It is a must visit, I would say.

One of the largest museums in India with varied sections. A great choice for high school and secondary school students to see the things they have learnt. It would be great to have a guided tour via app like they do in some other museums so that everyone can understand the history behind the displayed artifacts. It has a decent cafeteria for refreshments and food.

It's a good place to bring young ones to and also with the ever increasing collection of dolls and miniatures by people from all around the world their collection has increased many folds. There is also two dedicated rooms depicting the epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata through diorama and story bits spanning across 70-80 different scenes. Apart from dedicated rooms to house dolls from all over the world spanning for three stories there's even a lot of architectures and models of different vehicles and instruments. On the 3rd floor classes for arts, dance, music and other cultural activities are held for students. The only downside is that not a lot of people visit this museum and are aware of it's presence.

One of the best museums I have seen. Make no mistake, a doll's museum doesn't mean it is for kids...as adults, you will see various kinds of dolls from all over the world, giving you a glimpse of their culture.

The Nehru Children's Museum, located near Exide More, Kolkata, is often known for its extensive collection of dolls. While it may be true that dolls play a prominent role in the museum's exhibits, it's important to note that the museum should offer more than just a doll collection. A Children's Museum aims to provide a space where children can engage in creative and interactive learning experiences. Here in Nehru Children's Museum, apart from dolls, the museum has not featured much variety of exhibits and activities designed to stimulate children's imagination and curiosity. These exhibits often include displays on science, history, technology, culture, and art, tailored to appeal to children of various age groups which is missing here. While the museum's doll collection may not be everyone's cup of tea, it does hold educational value. Dolls can be used to teach children about different cultures, traditions, and historical periods. They can also be used to encourage storytelling and imaginative play among children but those kind of detailing is missing here. It's important to consider that the Nehru Children's Museum caters specifically to children and focuses on providing an environment that fosters learning and creativity. While some children may find the doll collection fascinating, others might be more interested in other exhibits within the museum. Ultimately, the museum's name reflects its historical significance and connection to India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, who was an advocate for children's rights and education. Renaming the museum solely based on the doll collection might overlook the broader objectives and offerings of the institution. It's worth noting that individual experiences and preferences may vary, and what one person finds interesting or engaging may not resonate with others.

There are many people who have donated dolls in memory of their loving ones. There is one big room consisting of only ganesha Collections, one room depicts the story of the Mahabharata through dolls and also the story of Ramayana. Not only for children but this place is also a must visit for people from all ages.

Compared to other amazing museums in kolkata, this place was a disappointment. The place has several dolls dressed up in different attires which look old and out of place. The only attraction here is the depiction of both Ramayana and Mahabharata using illustrative scenes and descriptions made with Plaster of paris i guess. Come here only if you have a very young kid because older kids will get so so bored. The entry charge is minimal.

The place is well located and can be accessed easily with the metro at Exide (Rabindra Sadan). About the place, the grown ups will find it difficult to relate as it has mostly dolls of various places, which helps will help in understanding the culture and the style of clothes which they prefer. The parents will find it easy to show it to thier kids. So if you have kids, the place will be well utilized.

A place that we have visited since childhood. The galleries have been revamped and look cleaner. New additions to the dolls' galleries are really nice to look at. The different dolls from various countries are really attractive. The Ramayana and Mahabharata galleries were touched up a few years back but now a retouch would be better. However, they would appeal to kids. The Ganesha gallery is also well stocked and well maintained.

(Translated by Google) 🌷Nehru Children's Museum🌷 The most interesting archives for children in the Ramayana and clay models. The collections feature great Indian epics dressed in national costumes from around the world and beautiful dolls. The real fun is in the upper floors, which are the spectacular Mahabharata of Hindu mythology and the Ramayana Gallery, the giant, the demon, the battle, the giant: the snake, the beheading, the abandonment and all sorts of mythological characters. The Ramayana and the Mahabharata in miniature models create a world for a child where he can spend hours and learn about our traditional epics. In order to pay homage to Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, National Cultural Association established the Museum in 1972 on Panditji's name on his birthday. Today when a child walks into Nehru Children's Museum, he walks into a world of treasure. It touches the imaginative mind and encourages him to know more. The exhibits in the museum which are spread over 4 floors, enable a child to take off to the world of epics, the world of science and to dream world. Dolls gallery, Toys gallery, Ramayana & Mahabharata in clay models are the most fascinating archives for the children. Dolls from 92 countries are displayed here. There is a second Dolls Gallery where dolls from 37 countries are displayed. In addition, there is a Ganesh Gallery displaying 300 Ganesh Idols. The Ramayana and Mahabharata in miniature models create a world for a child where he or she can spend time for hours and learns about our heritage epics.
